Zhou Shi arrived at Wei Qing’s house, disguised as a food delivery person to avoid suspicion. She explained that she had been extremely cautious not to be found out. Wei Qing, whose stomach was rumbling, had not eaten because his caretaker was off. Seeing the fridge full of ingredients, Zhou Shi offered to cook for him, despite some kitchen mishaps, including getting chili in her eye and a small fire incident.
Over dinner, Wei Qing informed Zhou Shi that Li Mingcheng had identified the mole, a former Snow Group employee. Zhou Shi deduced that the mole was likely working for Xue Zi, given their history. As the Art Biennial had concluded, Zhou Shi planned to report back to Xue Zi and investigate if she was indeed behind the contract issues.
Outside, a sudden thunderstorm erupted, prompting Wei Qing to ask Zhou Shi to stay the night, promising he wouldn't "do anything" but simply wanting her to stay longer. Zhou Shi agreed and called Lin Feifei to inform her. Lin Feifei, unconvinced by Zhou Shi’s claim of sleeping in the guest room, teased her, saying, "Your breakup with him is like a joke. Yesterday, you wanted to cut ties with him. Today, you're sharing the same pillow."
She added that despite their denials, they acted exactly like a couple. After the call, Wei Qing invited Zhou Shi to watch a movie. As they watched, their feelings for each other grew, leading to a kiss. Zhou Shi, while protesting, did not resist. Meanwhile, Xue Le had invited Lin Feifei to the celebratory banquet for Snow Group's new mainland company.
Lin Feifei had earlier sought refuge at Bi Qiu Jing’s house to avoid Xue Le, who was an investor in her TV series. She also found herself trying to avoid Bi Qiu Jing’s experimental cooking, as did Li Mingcheng, who still loved the real Bi Qiu Jing and encouraged her to be herself, after having an upset stomach from her food. Xue Le eventually called Lin Feifei, appearing at Bi Qiu Jing's house.
Unable to refuse her investor, Lin Feifei agreed to attend. At the banquet, Lin Feifei discovered from Zhou Shi that Xue Le was not only part of Snow Group but also Xue Zi’s younger brother and an heir. Due to a personal grudge against Xue Zi, Lin Feifei declared she couldn't stay in the same room as her and tried to leave.
Xue Le attempted to stop her, but Ning Fei unexpectedly arrived and publicly declared Lin Feifei his girlfriend, asserting his claim over her. Xue Zi, observing the scene, sarcastically remarked to Xue Le that Lin Feifei "always has two men wrapped around her finger." Ning Fei countered, stating that from now on, Lin Feifei would only be "wrapped around his finger." He then led Lin Feifei away, though she was annoyed by his presumptuousness.
She questioned how he could be her boyfriend if he couldn't even remember the shared experiences that formed their relationship. Ning Fei then hinted at recovering some memories, asking, "What if I did remember?" giving Lin Feifei a flicker of hope before telling her, "Let's go home." Separately at the banquet, Wei Qing and Zhou Shi were having a private conversation when they spotted Xue Zi and Xue Le approaching.
Following their pre-arranged plan, Zhou Shi quickly initiated a loud argument with Wei Qing, demanding he "stop pestering" her. Initially confused, Wei Qing quickly caught on to Zhou Shi's intent and played along, declaring he would meet any of her demands. Xue Zi intervened, reprimanding Wei Qing for "roughing up a lady" and reminding him that Zhou Shi was now Snow Group’s staff.
Wei Qing, maintaining the facade, then congratulated Snow Group on entering the domestic market, expressed hope for future cooperation, and left. After he departed, Xue Zi handed Zhou Shi her car keys and asked her to retrieve a gift box from the boot, intending to send her away. Suspecting this, Zhou Shi asked a passing server to fetch the box, while she discreetly listened to Xue Zi's conversation with Xue Le.
Xue Zi confronted Xue Le about the biennial incident, expressing disbelief that Wei Qing, known for his shrewdness, would make such a "dumb mistake" with the contract. She then revealed her knowledge that Wang Kang, the mole, was working for Xue Le. Xue Le initially denied it, but Xue Zi presented her evidence. She warned her younger brother, "You're still young. . . It's normal to employ tactics while doing business. But be mindful of the backlash.
You're no match for Wei Qing." The conversation was cut short when the server returned with the gift box. After Xue Le left, Xue Zi asked Zhou Shi to stay and then informed her that she would be temporarily transferred to Shangjue to "keep an eye" on Xue Le, stating it was normal to send someone from a subsidiary to supervise.
The next day, as soon as Zhou Shi arrived at Shangjue, news broke that Wei Qing had publicly announced his intention to marry her and make her a shareholder in Yunma. Xue Le summoned Zhou Shi to his office, asking if she planned to join Yunma. Zhou Shi denied it, reiterating her commitment to Snow Group. Xue Le remarked that she sounded just like his sister, suggesting they were "the same kind."
Shortly after, Wei Qing arrived at Shangjue with a group of reporters and publicly proposed to Zhou Shi in front of all the employees. Zhou Shi, sticking to their plan, rejected his proposal and quickly fled. Wei Qing later explained to Zhou Shi that this elaborate public display was their "test of loyalty," intended to make Xue Zi believe Zhou Shi was still crucially important to him.
This, he argued, would lead Xue Zi to see Zhou Shi as a valuable pawn, allowing her to uncover deeper secrets within Snow Group, with the shares serving as her bargaining chip. As Wei Qing had anticipated, Xue Zi contacted Zhou Shi. She instructed Zhou Shi to accept Wei Qing’s offer to become a Yunma shareholder, on the condition that Zhou Shi transfer 10% of those shares to her in exchange for 10% of Snow Group's shares.
Xue Zi explained that with Snow Group's nascent presence in China, a partnership with Yunma was the best strategic choice. However, she expressed distrust in working directly with Wei Qing and desired Zhou Shi to act as an intermediary. Zhou Shi questioned if Xue Zi was worried about her and Wei Qing ganging up against her. Xue Zi responded, "You're just like the old me. You don't like losing. You don't want to submit to the men. . . I hope to have one more ally." Zhou Shi realized that Wei Qing’s predictions about Xue Zi, the "cunning old fox," had all come true.
