Fearing Xu Nuo would be seriously injured in the finals by a vengeful Yun Zhu, Ke Siyi resolves to find a way to prevent him from getting hurt because of her and decides to consult Dr. Qin. The next day, as they arrive at the clinic, Ke Siyi spots Zhang Sen, Wu Dongde's subordinate, secretly photographing them. She knows Xu Nuo uses "Lawyer Zhou's" name for his appointments to keep his alexithymia, a mental illness, private.
Panicked that Xu Nuo’s condition will be exposed and her own connection to Wu Dongde discovered, Ke Siyi concocts a desperate plan. She rushes to a convenience store and chugs iced milk, knowing she has a severe milk allergy. Due to their shared senses, Xu Nuo is immediately afflicted with intense abdominal pain. Overcome with guilt, Ke Siyi rushes him to the hospital.
At the hospital, they bicker over who is in more pain until a doctor separates them for examination. Despite his agony, Xu Nuo's primary concern is Ke Siyi. He also takes a brief call from Zhou Yanxin, telling him that Ke Siyi is unwell and he is with her at the hospital. By the time Ke Siyi gets medicine, Xu Nuo's pain has subsided, but they have missed their appointment, as Dr. Qin has already left for a business trip.
Though her plan succeeded, Xu Nuo remains worried about her frequent health issues and insists she undergo a full physical examination. Ke Siyi initially refuses, but then realizes that obtaining a copy of Xu Nuo's medical report could dispel Wu Dongde's suspicions about him having a mental illness. She agrees, bravely enduring a blood draw despite her fear of needles, comforted by Xu Nuo.
Meanwhile, Wu Dongde instructs Zhang Sen to confirm Xu Nuo's health status, confident that Ke Siyi is easy to manipulate. Later, while in the underground parking lot, Liang Zhixiao sees Ke Siyi and questions her presence. She deflects, claiming she was helping a colleague.
Recalling a time she lied about a bad grade, Liang Zhixiao gently tells her he can always tell when she's not being truthful and that she can confide in him, but a flustered Ke Siyi quickly makes an excuse and leaves. At the office, a new intern who admires Xu Nuo asks Ke Siyi to deliver a love letter to him. Seizing the opportunity, Ke Siyi waits until the office is empty and sneaks into Xu Nuo's office.
Instead of delivering the letter, she searches for the equity pledge documents Wu Dongde ordered her to find. She locates and photographs them, but Xu Nuo returns and catches her by the filing cabinet. Seeing his look of disappointment, Ke Siyi nervously presents the love letter as an excuse. Frustrated, Xu Nuo tears it up just as Zhou Yanxin enters. Sensing the tension, Zhou Yanxin immediately asks Ke Siyi if she was going through the files.
Xu Nuo intervenes, concocting a story that Ke Siyi was jealous of the letter and was trying to hide it in a folder when he caught her. Though skeptical, Zhou Yanxin reluctantly accepts the explanation, given Ke Siyi's known carelessness and Xu Nuo's firm declaration of trust in his girlfriend. Overwhelmed with guilt by Xu Nuo’s unwavering faith, Ke Siyi leaves the office.
She calls Wu Dongde, who reveals he already knows Xu Nuo is selling shares and now demands she uncover the reason for his financial crisis, planning to use the information to ruin him completely. Troubled, Ke Siyi goes to the Wishing Pond and makes a heartfelt wish for Xu Nuo's safety and happiness. Soon after, Lin Wen calls her for an urgent meeting.
Lin Wen reveals that Zhou Yanxin shared his suspicions about Ke Siyi and warned her to back off. Lin Wen urges Ke Siyi to leave Xu Nuo, but Ke Siyi refuses. She reveals her plan to act as a double agent, intending to uncover Wu Dongde's scheme to protect Xu Nuo. Despite Lin Wen’s warnings about the dangers, Ke Siyi is determined to protect the man who trusts her so completely.
That night, Ke Siyi sneaks back into Xu Nuo’s office and begins photographing documents on his desk, only to be caught by him again. This time, instead of showing anger, Xu Nuo silently embraces her and kisses her forehead. He asks about the wish she made at the pond, telling her that while the pond's magic is uncertain, he has the power to make her dreams come true. Promising she won't have to be his bodyguard forever, he vows to do everything he can to help her achieve her aspirations.
