As the spokesperson for Qing Corporation, all of Eva's work was suspended in the wake of the recent poisoning incident. Luo Yiren and Xiao Nan took it upon themselves to investigate. At the building where the incident occurred, they were informed by a security guard that the surveillance footage for that day was missing. When they pressed for an explanation, the guard became defensive. Xiao Nan intervened, threatening to call the police, but Luo Yiren pulled him away.
Xiao Nan explained that someone was deliberately framing Qing Corporation, and Eva had been unfairly caught in the crossfire. He reassured a worried Luo Yiren that Eva's situation would be resolved once Qing Corporation was cleared. Luo Yiren then spotted an external surveillance camera across the street, realizing it could have captured activity at the main entrance, the sole access point to the stage's dining area. Impressed, Xiao Nan suggested they team up.
They brought the surveillance videos to Ni Hao, and Luo Yiren instructed him to work with them overtime to identify the culprit. Feigning a stomachache, Ni Hao quickly excused himself, leaving Luo Yiren and Xiao Nan to meticulously review the footage together. After hours of work, Luo Yiren dozed off. Xiao Nan gently covered her with his jacket. The next morning, Luo Yiren awoke to find Xiao Nan resting nearby.
She quietly draped her own jacket over him, noticing his long eyelashes. Xiao Nan, who had only been feigning sleep, playfully pulled her closer, attempting a flirtatious kiss. Their moment was abruptly interrupted by Ni Hao, who burst in with breakfast. An embarrassed Luo Yiren quickly moved back to the computer, while Xiao Nan expressed his frustration. Xiao Nan had already identified a suspect in the footage: Shen Nana, a receptionist from the event.
Meanwhile, determined to clear Qing Corporation's name, Eva went to see Jason, the director of World Angel, despite her manager Rebecca's warnings. As predicted, Jason showed no sympathy. Citing the damage to World Angel's reputation, he suspended all of Eva's work and gave her an ultimatum: hold a press conference to publicly apologize and sever all ties with Qing Corporation, or her contract with World Angel would be terminated. Distraught by the ultimatum, Zhen Yuanyuan (Eva) sought out Xiao Nan.
He advised her to temporarily agree to Jason's terms, assuring her that he and Luo Yiren were close to uncovering the truth. Enraged that he wasn't offering his full support, Zhen Yuanyuan stormed out. Xiao Nan immediately called Ruan Dongsheng, informing him of her distress. Ruan Dongsheng knew where to find her. Zhen Yuanyuan had gone to the lighthouse where he had previously confessed his feelings.
She despaired over her inability to help him, wishing she could be his "lighthouse" and dispel the darkness around him. Ruan Dongsheng soon arrived and embraced her, apologizing for putting her in such a difficult position. He urged her not to sacrifice her dream of modeling for him, promising to handle the poisoning incident himself and advising her to follow Xiao Nan's counsel. Comforted by his words, Zhen Yuanyuan told him she believed in him.
Xiao Nan and Luo Yiren tracked down Shen Nana as she was about to purchase an expensive handbag, a purchase far beyond her modest income. They confronted her, warning her about the severe legal consequences of involvement in a mass poisoning. Intimidated by Xiao Nan's knowledge of her personal information, the frightened Shen Nana confessed she had been paid by a secretary named Yang, who worked for Gao Quan.
As Zhen Yuanyuan prepared for the press conference, Jason reminded her to stick to the pre-approved statement. Simultaneously, Gao Quan instructed his assistant, Xiao Yang, to hire actors to disrupt the event and further discredit Ruan Dongsheng. Meanwhile, Xiao Nan and Luo Yiren had Shen Nana arrange a meeting with Gao Quan. Once the meeting was set, Luo Yiren sent Shen Nana away, explaining that the receptionist lacked the psychological fortitude for such a critical meeting.
She proposed that she impersonate Shen Nana, but Xiao Nan vehemently disagreed, fearing for her safety. Luo Yiren then cleverly suggested that Xiao Nan, a man, was the more suitable candidate to disguise himself as a woman. At the press conference, Zhen Yuanyuan began by expressing sorrow for the victims. Then, deviating from the script, she defiantly spoke of her father's culinary legacy and her unwavering belief in Ruan Dongsheng and Qing Corporation.
Enraged, Jason warned her not to regret her decision and stormed off. Reporters immediately questioned her motives, while people hired by Gao Quan began throwing food at her, demanding she eat it to prove Qing Corporation's innocence. Zhen Yuanyuan recognized the food was not from Qing Corporation, but pressured by the crowd, she prepared to eat it. Watching the live feed, Ruan Dongsheng saw Zhen Yuanyuan being attacked and furiously drove to the venue against Ni Hao's protests.
Just as Zhen Yuanyuan was about to eat the food, Ruan Dongsheng arrived, creating a diversion. Zhen Yuanyuan used the chance to escape briefly. Seeing her heavier reflection, she resolved to embrace her true self. She ran back into the crowd, rescued Ruan Dongsheng, and pulled him to safety. Looking at the real Zhen Yuanyuan, Ruan Dongsheng immediately kissed her. At his meeting with "Shen Nana," Gao Quan quickly saw through Xiao Nan’s disguise but played along.
Xiao Nan confronted him about the poisoning. Confident in his victory, Gao Quan openly confessed to masterminding the entire plot, gloating about Qing Corporation's downfall. Xiao Nan then revealed a hidden micro-camera, announcing that their conversation had been live-streamed. Enraged, Gao Quan attacked Xiao Nan, hitting him over the head with a vase and knocking him unconscious. Luo Yiren, who had been listening through an earpiece, heard the commotion and rushed to his aid.
