Jiang Kele takes Lu Xiao to a hot air balloon. She shares a childhood memory of her father bringing her there after her mother's death, explaining that it was the closest place to her mother in heaven. She encourages Lu Xiao to write down his feelings for his mother, fold them into a paper airplane, and send it to her.
Lu Xiao pours out his heart, expressing his love and gratitude to his mother for adopting him, providing him with a home, always trusting him, and never giving up on him even when he ran away. He releases the paper airplane, feeling a sense of catharsis, and Jiang Kele comforts him by holding his hand. Back at Bayhouse, Granny Fu Shun arrives, concerned Jiang Kele might not find Lu Xiao.
Seeing that Lu Xiao is feeling much better, Granny Fu Shun relays his mother's dying wish for him to let go of his sadness, live happily in the sunshine, and be together with Jiang Kele. She also shares a symbolic message from his mother, saying that the "teddy bear in his heart" is now with her in heaven.
Meanwhile, Luo Ke and Su Lie discuss Lu Xiao's absence from Bayhouse for two days and complain about eating his share of snacks. Xu Nian, Luo Ke, and Su Lie then discuss Jiang Kele's recent elaborate makeover, with Su Lie admitting he fainted from shock. Xu Nian reveals that Jiang Kele dressed up because she was going to confess to Lu Xiao. Upon hearing this, Lu Xiao realizes that Jiang Kele had intended to confess to him that day.
Jiang Kele then arrives, bringing food for Lu Xiao, especially cake, to cheer him up. Xu Nian offers to drive her to Bayhouse. At Bayhouse, Jiang Kele is surprised to find the place lit up with lights. She follows the illuminated path through the secret passage, wondering if there's a party she wasn't informed about. Lu Xiao appears, singing and playing the piano. He confesses that before meeting her, he was closed off and rejected everyone.
He credits her kindness, courage, charm, and wits with opening a window to his heart, allowing sunlight to stream in. He acknowledges her unwavering support and protection during his toughest and saddest times. Recalling her words from the previous day, he states his intention to let go of the past and live in the present. He declares his love for her and promises to protect her from now on.
Luo Ke and Su Lie celebrate the successful confession, while Xu Nian records the moment. Overjoyed, Jiang Kele returns home and shares the news with Guan Qianya. Guan Qianya is happy that Jiang Kele has finally returned to dating in real life after her long virtual romance, stating it gives hope to women in general.
She cautions Jiang Kele not to replicate her virtual dating habits in real life, reminding her that Lu Xiao in reality is different from his game counterpart. Jiang Kele assures her that she can distinguish between the game and real life, and that she had already broken up with virtual Lu Xiao before the confession.
