The crowd accused her of being a fanatic user of the game, betraying their trust and her image as an inspirational leader. As reporters swarmed her, Guan Qianya was quickly ushered into a car by a driver sent by Qi Chuan.
Inside the car, Qi Chuan confronted Guan Qianya, expressing his deep disappointment and sense of betrayal. He accused her of playing with him from the beginning and hurting him profoundly. Guan Qianya apologized for her "irreparable error" as a business partner but firmly told him not to guilt-trip her. Qi Chuan then shifted to a purely business tone, stating that their contract clearly stipulated a ten million compensation fee if she indulged in the game.
He then had his driver drop her off on the street. Mr. Cui, who quickly arrived to pick her up, advised Guan Qianya that they couldn't return to the company office due to angry supporters and investors waiting. He suggested she turn off her phone and rest. Guan Qianya immediately asked if the company had ten million in cash flow.
Mr. Cui admitted the company didn't even have one million, but revealed that he had secretly amended the contract’s penalty clause. Instead of ten million, it stipulated a penalty of one thousand times the signing bonus, which amounted to only one thousand yuan. He took credit for this foresight, noting that Qi Chuan and his manager were too arrogant to notice the change.
Mr. Cui then expressed confusion about how Xu Guanghan discovered Guan Qianya’s game activity, as he was the one who registered her anonymous account and believed it impossible for anyone to find out from the backend data. He urged Guan Qianya to consider who else, besides the two of them, knew she was playing the game. The news of Guan Qianya’s scandal quickly spread online, deeply worrying Jiang Kele.
However, Guan Qianya began to suspect that Jiang Kele might be the one who leaked the information, recalling Jiang Kele's recent secretive behavior, late nights, sudden increase in money, and an unknown man answering her phone. A flashback revealed a high school incident where Guan Qianya was accused of stealing a purse and a pen.
Jiang Kele had vehemently defended her, even offering to pay for the items and risking her class representative title, purely based on her trust in Guan Qianya. When Jiang Kele returned home and found Guan Qianya in distress, she tried to comfort her. She considered telling Guan Qianya about her work at Bayhouse but was stopped by Lei Na’s earlier warning to keep the information confidential. Unable to sleep, Jiang Kele impulsively decided to reveal her secret. The next morning, she led Guan Qianya through a secret underground passage into Bayhouse.
Guan Qianya was stunned to discover that the virtual Xu Nian she had been interacting with was the real Xu Nian, and that the Y4 characters actually existed and were living within Bayhouse under contract. As she tried to log into the game for confirmation, her attempt was blocked by a voice message from Xu Guanghan, mocking her for still wanting to play. Xu Guanghan then called Xu Nian over, congratulating him on successfully completing his mission and informing him that he would no longer have one-on-one tests, meaning he would not have to see Guan Qianya again. Xu Nian appeared to take the news with a slight look of disappointment. Meanwhile, Xu Guanghan reviewed Lu Xiao's detailed reports on Jiang Kele's activities. He noted Lu Xiao's observations, including an incident where Jiang Kele, while clumsily cleaning the pool, fell into the water.
Xu Guanghan discovered that Lu Xiao, despite his aquaphobia, had jumped in to save Jiang Kele, admitting he was "more afraid that she'll drown" than of his own fear, and had even performed CPR on her. Lu Xiao appeared notably nervous when questioned about it, stammering about Jiang Kele’s "soft lips." Xu Guanghan found Lu Xiao's emotional reactions highly satisfactory, praising him for incorporating "subjective reasoning" into his monitoring.
Later, he expressed his satisfaction to his secretary, noting that Lu Xiao's data was no longer a roller coaster but a "bungee jump," indicating rapid emotional development. Granny Fu Shun, whom Jiang Kele found working at a chicken wing shop, gave Jiang Kele a new "charity" job address.
Jiang Kele initially hesitated, citing her existing two jobs, but Granny Fu Shun strategically threatened to offer the job to someone else for five times her usual pay, prompting Jiang Kele to reconsider. Following the address, Jiang Kele arrived at a nursing home and found four elderly women playing Mahjong. When one left for an IV infusion, the others pulled Jiang Kele into the game.
