Shisan diligently packed several large bundles of Lingxi's belongings, intending to deliver them to the Shanling Tribe where Lingxi was now living as the princess. Jiuchen, seeking an excuse to accompany her, first inquired if Shisan could manage the large load herself. Shisan confidently boasted that she could carry even ten more bundles. Jiuchen then changed his approach, claiming he had observed an issue with her recent training, suggesting she might have overtrained and injured herself.
He asked if she felt pain in her acupoints when channeling energy. Initially denying it, Shisan soon feigned pain, asking if she was dying. Jiuchen assured her she only needed rest and must not carry heavy objects to recover, then stated he would go another day, implying she should go alone. Shisan, however, proudly revealed a cosmic ring she had acquired from Siming and effortlessly stored all the luggage inside, believing this would allow her to go immediately.
Jiuchen, internally exasperated, remarked that using such an important immortal treasure for miscellaneous items was wasteful and suggested she find someone to accompany her. Shisan misunderstood, thinking he was offering Huayan's company, and insisted it was unnecessary. Jiuchen, at a loss for words, turned and departed. As Jiuchen stepped out, he encountered Siming, who reported that God of Heavenly Thunder was still unable to find the immortal maid who stole the Heart-Assembling Nail.
An order had been issued for all immortal maids to be tested with a secret technique for traces of Thousand Li Motherly Incense. Jiuchen, seemingly uninterested, suddenly asked Siming if his palace held many magical items, puzzling Siming. When Shisan emerged, Jiuchen simply told Siming to leave. Siming then observed that Jiuchen seemed to be in a bad mood, realizing it stemmed from Lingxi's abrupt departure for the Shanling Tribe, as Jiuchen couldn't pursue her without an acceptable reason.
Overhearing this, Shisan finally had an epiphany about Jiuchen's earlier intentions. She rushed back, dramatically claiming Siming had taken back the cosmic ring and that she was now injured and couldn't carry anything, pitifully asking Jiuchen to accompany her. However, Jiuchen's expression hardened. He rose and returned to his room without a word, closing the door and even the window on her.
Realizing she had thoroughly offended him, Shisan dejectedly picked up two large bags and left Fuyun Hall alone, lamenting that she might be sent back to the Eastern Seas, separating her from Siming. However, upon reaching the South Gate of Heaven, Jiuchen unexpectedly appeared, asking what had taken her so long. Relieved, Shisan quickly handed the luggage to him, reiterating her "injury." Meanwhile, Lingxi remained steadfastly by State Master Lingyue's bedside, refusing to leave until her mother awoke.
When informed of Shisan's and Jiuchen's arrival, Lingxi instructed a servant to relay a message: she was busy caring for the State Master and found it inconvenient to welcome them, asking them to depart. Jiuchen, having gone through great lengths to get there, refused to leave. He used Shisan's "injury" as an excuse, claiming she needed several days of rest and couldn't use magic for the journey back.
He then asserted that Tianxi Palace, which owed Lingyue's rescue to him, surely wouldn't lack two guest rooms. The servant had no choice but to comply. Qingyao, back in Peach Forest, was working tirelessly to research Lingyue's condition when Hualiao brought her mushroom soup. Learning that Jiuchen intended to stay, Lingxi decided to return to Peach Forest to avoid him.
When Jiuchen was informed that Lingxi had left due to "urgent matters," he dismissively remarked that she needn't return, but quietly resolved that as long as Lingyue remained, Lingxi would eventually come back. In Peach Forest, Qingyao found it amusing that Lingxi had dared to make the God of War wait, though Lingxi admitted her apprehension. Qingyao then mentioned that the Heavenly Palace was searching for a Demon Tribe spy who had stolen the Heart-Assembling Nail.
Lingxi was astonished, but Qingyao explained that the Demon Lord's death did not end the Demon Tribe, as a single thought could turn an immortal into a demon, highlighting the complexity of one's heart. Though a new Demon Lord could theoretically rise, it was a rare occurrence. Meanwhile, a search of the Heavenly Palace identified Huayan as the only immortal maid who was absent the night the Heart-Assembling Nail was stolen.
God of Heavenly Thunder instructed his subordinates to be courteous to Huayan until the matter was fully investigated to avoid further conflict with Jiuchen. The following morning, Huayan was brought in for questioning and immediately confessed to the theft. In Peach Forest, Qingyao advised Lingxi to be direct with Jiuchen and to fulfill her filial duties by Lingyue's side instead of hiding. Urging her to cherish their time together and not wait for regret, Qingyao's words struck a chord.
Lingxi acknowledged her immature behavior and resolved to return to the Shanling Tribe. Chengyan was disappointed to see her leave again. Discerning his feelings, Qingyao gently advised him that some things cannot be forced and it was better to cherish those currently present, prompting Chengyan to glance at Hualiao. Concurrently, Jiuchen received news of Huayan's situation and returned to the Heavenly Palace. He found her weakened, being interrogated by God of Heavenly Thunder and Immortal Lord of Universal Turn Puhua.
Puhua informed Jiuchen that they had used the Frisking Immortal Method on Huayan, but her spirit was too strong and had resisted it; another attempt could destroy her. Jiuchen ordered them not to use it again. God of Heavenly Thunder clarified that while Huayan confessed, claiming a demon had bewitched her to steal the nail for Zhonghao, the Heart Inquiring Mirror detected no demonic aura, leading him to suspect she was covering for someone.
Jiuchen took Huayan back to Fuyun Hall. She insisted the person who helped her was not evil and pleaded for mercy. Jiuchen informed her of the sentence: exile to the remote, cold lands of the Shanling Tribe for her to reflect. After she was escorted away, Jiuchen sent a letter to Lingxi. Upon receiving it, Lingxi personally went to the barren lands, rescued Huayan, and brought her to Tianxi Palace, telling her to stay by her side.
Lingxi assured Huayan she would protect her as long as she behaved. Later, Lingxi sent a message to Jiuchen, asking who he suspected. Jiuchen replied that they should "slowly watch," admitting he was also unsure. Separately, Star Monarch Sangnan visited Qingyao in Peach Forest, expressing his concern and care. Qingyao politely declined his offer, stating that his concern would make things difficult for her, leaving Sangnan disheartened. Chengyan felt Qingyao was being too heartless, suggesting they could still be friends. Qingyao sighed, explaining that Yunfeng was a very petty person and would not want to see her befriend Sangnan.
