Jiuchen arrived at Dark Capital Mountain to search for evidence, but Yuantong had already destroyed the Reflecting Light Mirror. She mockingly showed him the broken mirror, explaining that the Water Moon Cauldron, the only item capable of repairing it, recognized Lingxi as its master and was thus useless to anyone else. Yuantong then cruelly reminded Jiuchen that he himself had killed Lingxi before carelessly tossing the broken mirror to the ground.
Obsessed with Jiuchen, Yuantong expressed her bewilderment, stating that in the past, she would have risked her life to fulfill his every desire, but now he sought her life. She questioned why he would betray her sincerity when everything she did was to get closer to him. Unmoved, Jiuchen asked if she was responsible for the deaths of the soldiers. Yuantong retorted that he wouldn't believe her even if she denied it.
She defended herself by stating that she was ordered to guard the demonically infested Dark Capital Mountain, yet Qingyao had provided her with a defective Constitution-Aiding Pill. She accused Jiuchen of never having cared for her safety, lamenting that while Lingxi had destroyed her family's honor, she had also captured Jiuchen's heart, leaving no place for her.
As Yuantong continued, Jiuchen grew angry, asking if she thought her words could absolve her or if she believed he couldn't punish her without evidence. Knowing he wouldn't act without proof, Yuantong taunted him, saying that if the Yuan disciples were to die by his hand, it would be a worthy end, just as her brother, Yuanzheng, had died by Jiuchen’s hand in that very place. With that, she turned and left.
Yunfeng arrived at Dark Capital Mountain, full of hope, only to find the Reflecting Light Mirror destroyed. Jiuchen comforted him, assuring him that the truth would come out once Lingxi returned. However, he warned Yunfeng that Qingyao could not be entirely absolved, as her use of her position for personal revenge had led to the deaths of innocent soldiers—a grave crime. After careful consideration, Yunfeng made a resolute decision.
He sought an audience with the Heavenly Emperor and falsely confessed that he had known about Qingyao giving Yuantong the defective pill but had failed to stop her. He implored the Heavenly Emperor to spare Qingyao's life, citing her eons of service healing the sick and saving countless lives. The Heavenly Emperor questioned Yunfeng, asking if he understood the profound consequences of his confession.
He reminded Yunfeng of his exceptional talent and promising future as a High God, stating that such a confession would undo his tens of thousands of years of cultivation and erase all his achievements. Despite the warning, Yunfeng remained steadfast. Granting his wish, the Heavenly Emperor decreed that Qingyao would receive two hundred strokes of the immortal whip, lose half her cultivation, and be banished to Peach Forest.
Yunfeng, for his supposed indulgence, was sentenced to one thousand years of unpardonable lightning punishment at Self-Reflection Cliff. Upon waking, Lin Mo questioned Jing Xiu about Jiuchen's true identity, her connection to Lingxi, and why it was said that Lingxi would return only if she died. Determined to thwart Jiuchen's plans, Jing Xiu revealed the truth. He explained that Jiuchen was the esteemed God of War and Lingxi was an immortal from the Peach Forest.
He recounted how Lingxi was framed, leading the Heavenly Race to believe she would unleash the Demon Lord, and consequently, Jiuchen personally killed her on the Purple Cloud Platform to fulfill his duty. Jing Xiu then revealed that Lin Mo was Lingxi's mortal trial. After Lingxi’s death, Jiuchen preserved her spirit and used a portion of it to create Lin Mo, sending her to the mortal realm. Only by enduring her trials and ultimately dying could Lingxi be reborn.
Tears welled in Lin Mo’s eyes as she asked if her entire life had been meticulously arranged. Jing Xiu gently nodded. Lin Mo realized that Jiuchen’s presence in her life was merely to await her demise. Witnessing her distress, Jing Xiu reassured her. He admitted to knowing Lingxi but denied any romantic feelings, emphasizing that it was Lin Mo who was special to him, as she had saved him in his time of need.
He declared that he only recognized Lin Mo, regardless of whether she was a god or a demon, and vowed to protect her and keep her alive. After enduring her punishment, Qingyao was told by Tianlei Zhenjun that she was free to go. He explained the Heavenly Emperor's full decree, which considered her emotional state following Le Bo’s death as a mitigating factor. Concerned only for Yunfeng, she asked for his whereabouts.
Tianlei Zhenjun informed her that Yunfeng was at Self-Reflection Cliff and handed her the damaged Reflecting Light Mirror, a token from Yunfeng. Qingyao rushed to the cliff, arriving just as Puhua Zhenjun was enacting the stone-sealing punishment on Yunfeng, turning him into a stone statue. Overwhelmed with grief, she cried out, questioning why he had taken the blame for her, and embraced the hardening statue, sobbing.
Jiuchen and Siming arrived, but they were helpless, as the Heavenly Emperor’s decree was irreversible. As the Blood Moon neared, Qin Yuan grew uneasy. Recalling the teachings of his master, the Old Man of South Pole Immortal Continent, he made a decision. He incapacitated the guards and freed Ling Yue from her magical seals, urgently informing her that Zhonghao intended to use her phoenix blood to open the Spirit-Binding Abyss and unleash the Demon Army.
Ling Yue, initially suspicious, was convinced when Qin Yuan revealed he was also a disciple of the South Pole Immortal and did not wish to see the Six Realms suffer. As demon soldiers approached, Qin Yuan held them back, allowing Ling Yue to flee. However, weakened from her long imprisonment, she was soon cornered by Heichi. To prevent Zhonghao from obtaining her phoenix blood, she threw herself into the Spirit-Binding Abyss.
When Zhonghao learned of this, Heichi grew worried, but Zhonghao revealed that an item of great evil, like Yuanzheng’s Heart-Assembling Nail, could serve the same purpose. The nail, having absorbed demonic energy for fifty thousand years, was now a great evil weapon but was secured in the Yuan Clan’s ancestral altar. Upon receiving news about the Heart-Assembling Nail, Jing Xiu penned a letter and had a divine sparrow deliver it to Huayan in the Heavenly Palace.
In the letter, he posed as her teacher, requesting that she retrieve the Heart-Assembling Nail from the Yuan Clan’s ancestral altar for a matter of great importance. Qingyao knelt outside the Heavenly Palace, hoping for an audience with the Heavenly Emperor. Lord Baishanxian persuaded her to accept reality, reminding her that Yunfeng’s sacrifice would be in vain if she continued to torment herself. He stressed that a thousand years, though long, would eventually pass, and they would be reunited.
Realizing the weight of Yunfeng's sacrifice, Qingyao returned to Self-Reflection Cliff and sat beside his stone statue. She began to recount a story he had once told her in the Peach Forest: of a brave mortal general who fell in love with and abducted an enemy female doctor, eventually winning her heart. Qingyao vowed to wait for him, whether for a thousand or ten thousand years, declaring that nothing would separate them again.
After plummeting into the Spirit-Binding Abyss, Ling Yue was rescued by her father, Yuandu. Their reunion was fraught with conflicted emotions; he had shown her love but had also killed her husband and destroyed her family. Enraged by her defiant attitude, Yuandu attempted to destroy her immortal bones. However, as he moved to strike, a powerful demonic aura erupted from within her, repelling his attack and knocking him to the ground.
Ling Yue watched her father fall, her heart in turmoil. Duyu, having heard about the Heavenly Generals turning demonic, confronted Yuantong in the Yuan Clan’s ancestral hall. Yuantong coolly blamed the incident on Qingyao’s defective pills. Duyu saw through her lies, recalling her past deceptions and horrified that she could heartlessly kill Shenjiang and other subordinates who had served her faithfully for fifty thousand years. Yuantong was unrepentant, arguing their deaths were a worthy sacrifice to aid her.
Duyu looked at the cruel woman before him, finding her unrecognizable. Yuantong bitterly claimed that she was forced down this path from the moment Duyu prevented her from revealing the truth at Fuyun Hall, declaring that they were no longer on the same path. Ling Yue questioned Yuandu about the demonic aura. He grimly explained that the Spirit-Binding Abyss was a place of imprisonment, the closest location to the Demon Tribe's gates, where anyone who lingered would eventually lose their mind.
