> Love and Destiny Recap

Lingxi happily approaches a tiny Bai Ze, noting how small it is and jokingly asking if it plans to eat her. When Jiuchen intends to lock the beast in the Demon Tower for endangering mortals, Lingxi insists it is merely gluttonous and not truly malicious. She points out its clear eyes, which, according to her father, indicate it has not shed innocent blood.

Jiuchen warns her that the Bai Ze is an ancient, fierce mythical beast, too powerful for her to control once it matures, but Lingxi is moved by its resemblance to her old companion, Xiaobai. Seeing Lingxi's unwavering affection, Jiuchen relents, and Lingxi gratefully promises to care for and discipline it.

Jiuchen and Lingxi then arrive at the Shanling Tribe, where Jiuchen is greeted by State Master Ling Yue, an old acquaintance who expresses surprise at seeing him again after tens of thousands of years. She mentions High God Yunfeng's recent visit to inform her of Zhonghao's resurrection, to which Jiuchen asserts the close bond between the Shanling and Heavenly Races.

Ling Yue offers Jiuchen a precious Good Fire Pellet to aid the cold he contracted at the Immortal Sea, which Jiuchen accepts as an apology for a border misunderstanding. Ling Yue then observes Lingxi, finding her face kind, and asks her name and age. Lingxi reveals she is exactly fifty thousand years old, surprising both Ling Yue and Grandmother Shi. Grandmother Shi then asks about Lingxi's origins, learning she is from the Dan Bird Tribe.

However, their hopeful expressions turn to disappointment when Lingxi explains she grew up with her father, an older sister, and a younger brother. Ling Yue inwardly clings to the faint hope that Lingxi could still be her lost child. Ling Yue prepares a grand banquet to honor Jiuchen. Meanwhile, Chibi informs Jing Xiu of the banquet, noting that despite Jiuchen's presence, Jing Xiu has not been invited, a slight Jing Xiu appears indifferent to.

Princess Baoqing, Jing Xiu's half-sister, visits him, expressing her own disinterest in the banquet. Before leaving to change into a new pearl-studded skirt, she asks if he will attend, but he does not respond. Separately, Lingxi decides to name the little beast. She proposes "Wuwan," because it consumes at least five bowls of food per meal. Jiuchen, finding the name silly, simply states that her happiness is what matters.

At the banquet, Jiuchen sternly instructs Lingxi to stay by his side. However, Wuwan soon goes missing, prompting Lingxi to disregard Jiuchen’s order. After politely excusing herself to State Master Ling Yue, she rushes off to find it. Meanwhile, a bored Princess Baoqing, having also left the banquet, spots the tiny Wuwan and commands her guards to capture the "little beast." As Wuwan is cornered, Lingxi secretly uses her magic to help it bite Baoqing and escape.

Her intervention is noticed, and she flees, with Baoqing ordering her guards to pursue both Lingxi and Wuwan. While fleeing, Lingxi inadvertently stumbles into Jing Xiu's residence and becomes ensnared by Ghost Vines. Jing Xiu recognizes the "interesting little immortal" and questions her identity. Fearing that revealing her connection to Jiuchen would bring him trouble with the princess, Lingxi refuses to disclose her name and pleads for her release.

As Princess Baoqing and her guards approach, Jing Xiu steps out and calmly dismisses her search. Taking advantage of the distraction, Lingxi frees herself. Before leaving, she notices the Immortal Knot on a nearby table and impulsively takes it. Upon returning, Jing Xiu finds Lingxi gone and the Immortal Knot missing. Lingxi reunites with Wuwan just as guards approach. Jiuchen appears and creates a protective barrier, making them invisible to the passing guards. Caught, Lingxi apologizes for causing trouble.

The next day, Jiuchen leads Lingxi to Dark Capital Mountain, the place where the Demon Lord was sealed. Lingxi finds nothing out of the ordinary despite the heavy demonic aura, a stark contrast to the place's reputation as impassable to nearly all beings. Jiuchen observes that Lingxi is the only one besides himself who can enter unscathed, solidifying his certainty that she is the infant from fifty thousand years ago who possesses both divine and demonic power.

He then resolves to take her to the Polar Abyss, his former cultivation ground. At the Polar Abyss, a lone, icy palace stands amidst a snowy expanse. An old man emerges, bowing to Jiuchen. As Lingxi follows Jiuchen inside, Wuwan bites her skirt, whining and circling, trying to prevent her from entering. Misinterpreting its fear, Lingxi scoops it up and continues into a vast, frigid hall. Unable to bear the cold, Wuwan struggles free and flees.

Lingxi tries to follow, but Jiuchen stops her, instructing her to remain while he goes to find the beast. The old man then departs, sealing the heavy door behind them. A sudden chill envelops Lingxi. She calls out but receives no response. The biting cold soon becomes unbearable. She tries transforming into her Dan Bird form and then cultivating, but both fail to provide relief.

Finally, huddling on the icy bed, she succumbs to the cold and faints, whispering Jiuchen's title. Throughout her ordeal, Lingxi’s unwavering trust in Jiuchen never falters, believing he is a benevolent God of War who always acts for the greater good. Wuwan, sensing Lingxi's plight, desperately begs Jiuchen for help, but he remains impassive. The beast then runs to the hall door, repeatedly ramming its tiny body against it.

The thudding sounds, combined with memories of Lingxi's innocent trust, break Jiuchen's resolve. Unable to remain cold-blooded, he appears in the icy hall, infusing the unconscious Lingxi with spiritual power. Lingxi awakens briefly in his arms, weakly returning the tightly clutched Immortal Knot to him before fainting once more. Jiuchen gazes at her, recalling the Battle of Gods and Demons fifty thousand years ago. After sealing the Demon Lord, he had found a baby clutching an Immortal Knot.

As he reached for the child, the Demon Lord's spirit attempted to possess her. Jiuchen used his last reserves of divine power to suppress the demonic essence within the infant, dying in the process. Jiuchen brings Lingxi back to his quarters, where she later regains consciousness. Though she understands Jiuchen deliberately left her in the freezing palace, she retains her unconditional trust in him.

Feeling an aversion to the vast, empty palace and fearing being alone, she tearfully pleads for Jiuchen to stay. He relents, and Lingxi, comforted by his presence, peacefully falls asleep. After much contemplation, Jiuchen decides to send Lingxi back to the Peach Forest, remarking on how Wuwan has started to act like a dog since Lingxi began raising it like one. Elsewhere, High God Yunfeng persistently badgers Siming for information about Qingyao.

Exasperated, Siming agrees to read from the records of her mortal trial, stipulating that Yunfeng may only listen. Siming finds the entry and reveals that Fairy Qingyao was born into the Bai Family. Alarmed, Yunfeng presses him to continue. Siming then hands him the record, and Yunfeng is horrified to learn that he had accidentally killed Qingyao's mortal husband.

Siming attempts to console the distraught Yunfeng, suggesting that his actions, though angering Qingyao, inadvertently helped her complete her trial and ascend to High Immortal faster. Yunfeng, though dismayed, accepts the attempt at comfort and calls Siming a good friend.
