Zi Mo observed Huang Quan, noting his tanned and thin appearance, and deduced the hardships he endured in Nanjiang. Huang Quan, touched by her concern, revealed that after the failed mission against the Moon Sect and the Tower Master's need for recuperation, the Snow Tower might finally experience some peace.
Witnessing much suffering and separation in Nanjiang, and the current discord between the Tower Master and Lady Jing, Huang Quan decided to ask the Tower Master to allow Zi Mo to leave Feng Qing Garden so they could live together like an immortal couple. Zi Mo, however, explained that the situation in the Tower was complicated, and intelligence from Feng Qing Garden remained vital, so she had to continue her duties.
Huang Quan expressed his desire to cherish their relationship, especially after seeing the Tower Master and Lady Jing's strained bond. Zi Mo then promised that once the Tower Master recovered, she would personally inform him of her decision to no longer go to Feng Qing Garden. Huang Quan, pleased, pledged to obey only her and the Tower Master's direct orders from that moment on.
Meanwhile, Hong Chen boasted of almost mastering the "Purple Bamboo Tune," but Bi Luo remained unimpressed, criticizing her fingerwork and urging more practice to improve the song's flow. Hong Chen admitted her only motivation for learning the zither was to remember her mother. Bi Luo, however, insisted that she would not let Hong Chen abandon her lessons, especially with turmoil brewing in the Tower. Hong Chen agreed to practice further.
Bi Luo then privately confessed that Hong Chen's playing was actually quite good. She admitted to keeping Hong Chen close partly because she was afraid of loneliness and didn't want to be alone in the Snow Tower, though her true, secret reason was her affection for Hong Chen. Separately, Gao Mengfei informed Chi Xiaotai that Xiao Yiqing was severely ill, his inner energy gravely depleted, rendering him incapable of defeating Gao Mengfei.
Their rebellion schedule had been moved up due to news of Shu Jingrong's return from Lingjiu Mountain. Gao Mengfei declared the next day would be their day of attack, planning to alert all pugilistic sects and seize the Guo Se Sword from the Heavenly Arsenal Hall to break Xiao Yiqing's Shadow Sun Dagger. Chi Xiaotai worried about the ensuing chaos in the Snow Tower and her safety, but Gao Mengfei promised her anything she desired.
She made him vow, however, that Xiao Yiqing would be allowed to leave alive and unharmed, a promise he agreed to while embracing her. Nan Chu summoned Bi Luo and Hong Chen, announcing that, by Xiao Yiqing's command, they were promoted to Snow Tower Guardians, joining Huang Quan and Zi Mo to form the Four Tower Guardians, ranking just below himself and Lady Jing.
Hong Chen conveyed their gratitude for the Tower Master's trust and swore eternal loyalty to the Snow Tower. Nan Chu then explained that with the Tower Master's illness and threats from both within and outside, the Snow Tower faced immense danger, urging all four guardians to faithfully uphold their duties and protect the Tower at all costs.
Elsewhere, Ming He discovered that the golden needle had been removed from Jia Ruo, confirming his full recovery of memories, including those of the Sand Valley tragedy. Jia Ruo, filled with anguish, wished he had never known "Ye Huo." Ming He, in distress, tearfully begged for his forgiveness for her past actions related to "Qing Lan." She questioned his return to the Moon Sect and whether he had deceived Shu Jingrong about his memory loss.
Jia Ruo explained that he chose not to reveal his recovered memories to Shu Jingrong, knowing she was rushing back to protect Xiao Yiqing and wishing to spare her any guilt or burden. Ming He passionately argued that one should keep their loved ones close, regardless of the means. She tearfully declared that her years with him were the happiest of her life and vowed to protect him.
However, Jia Ruo gently pulled away, stating his intention to first repay her kindness for all these years, then gradually make her pay for the blood debt of Sand Valley. Ming He wept, asking how he could repay their deep companionship, but Jia Ruo simply affirmed he could. As Jia Ruo left, Ming He recalled Ren Fei Yang's death at the hands of the Moon Sect, vowing never to forget the painful memories.
In the Heavenly Arsenal Hall, Shi Mingyan questioned Chi Xiaotai about the veracity of their plan to overthrow the Snow Tower. Chi Xiaotai reassured her, explaining that Gao Mengfei, as a former Vice Lord with many followers, had meticulously planned the rebellion. She offered Shi Mingyan a choice: remain with the Tower or join them. Shi Mingyan inquired if Gao Mengfei would also target the Moon Sect upon success, to which Chi Xiaotai confirmed his hatred for them was profound.
Despite Shi Mingyan's perceived lack of power, Chi Xiaotai convinced her that even ordinary weapons could be impactful in the right hands, especially with the Snow Tower's current vulnerability. She presented their alliance as a mutually beneficial path to revenge. Convinced, Shi Mingyan pledged her full support, promising to assist them actively. Nan Chu reported to Xiao Yiqing that someone was indeed spying on him.
Zi Mo confirmed that the Chuihua House had been bribed by Gao Mengfei, though the identities of other rebels were still unclear. Nan Chu suggested alerting everyone, but Xiao Yiqing dismissed it, stating that as Bai Di's disciple and Shu Jingrong's senior, he would not act against Gao Mengfei unless he officially rebelled. He declared that if Gao Mengfei truly sought the coveted leadership, he was welcome to try and take it.
Xiao Yiqing then instructed Nan Chu to find Gu Guang or other means to uncover what had happened to Shu Jingrong and his mother. Meanwhile, a Moon Sect disciple informed Ming He that a team of Snow Tower assassins was heading south from Luoyang to kill Shu Jingrong. Ming He, confirming her own preparations, ordered her disciples to strike when the Snow Tower's forces were engaged, anticipating her sect would seize control.
She privately thought that with Shu Jingrong gone, Jia Ruo would finally be hers. Jia Ruo then confronted Ming He, accusing her of not letting go and questioning her attack on the Snow Tower despite their withdrawal from Nanjiang. Ming He justified her actions as fulfilling her mother's wish to destroy their mortal enemy and avenge her father, whom she believed Xiao Yiqing had killed.
Jia Ruo countered that she was misplacing old vengeance on Shu Jingrong, reminding her that Hua Lian was responsible for massacring Shu Jingrong's family. Ming He retorted that Shu Jingrong was clearly still the one Jia Ruo cared for most. As Jia Ruo left, he ominously warned Ming He that it was too late to inform Shu Jingrong or Xiao Yiqing of her schemes. Separately, Huang Quan confronted an individual, who revealed an impending attack scheduled for that afternoon.
Soon after, Huang Quan received definite news that Gao Mengfei had formally rebelled and was already attacking the Snow Tower's entrance. On her way back, Shu Jingrong encountered a group of men claiming to be Snow Tower disciples sent by Xiao Yiqing to escort her. She inquired about the Tower Master's health, and they reported he was recuperating poorly, urging her to hurry back. Shu Jingrong, however, quickly realized their deception, knowing Xiao Yiqing would have come himself.
The disciples, seeing through her pretense, revealed their true intent to prevent her return to the Tower. Shu Jingrong confirmed her suspicion that Gao Mengfei had rebelled, surprised by his extensive influence, even within the Chuihua House. She then resolved to eliminate the rebels for the Tower Master, as the attackers, following Gao Mengfei's orders, moved to kill her. A disciple reported to Guardian Huang Quan that Gao Mengfei had launched an attack on the Snow Tower's entrance.
Gao Mengfei, wielding the Guo Se Sword, declared his intention to defeat Xiao Yiqing. Huang Quan confronted him, admonishing his disrespect towards the Tower Master and the Snow Tower, and vowed to protect the gates with his life. Gao Mengfei taunted Huang Quan, reminding him that he was no match. As they prepared to fight, Huang Quan had a flashback to Gao Mengfei teaching him swordplay and sharing wine, reflecting on the honor he felt being his friend and student.
Gao Mengfei offered to spare Huang Quan's life, acknowledging their past bond, but Huang Quan vehemently refused, swearing he would not allow Gao Mengfei to pass. Gao Mengfei then ordered his forces to charge, and tried to persuade Huang Quan to abandon Xiao Yiqing's cause, claiming the pugilistic world didn't belong to him. Huang Quan, however, remained resolute, declaring he would fight to the death.
Gao Mengfei expressed disappointment at Huang Quan valuing his loyalty to Xiao Yiqing over their friendship, reiterating his offer of protection if Huang Quan joined him, but threatening to fight if he remained loyal to Xiao Yiqing. Huang Quan defiantly rejected Gao Mengfei's attempts to sway him, and they engaged in a fierce battle. Inside, Xiao Yiqing remained awake and restless, despite his weakened state.
Doctor Mo urged him to rest, acknowledging his efforts and encouraging him to let go of his anxieties, assuring him that answers would come when least expected. Xiao Yiqing, however, dismissed their advice, taking his medicine and sending them away. Soon after, Shi Mingyan entered, feigning a report of Gao Mengfei's attack and Huang Quan's desperate fight. Xiao Yiqing calmly acknowledged her words.
Shi Mingyan then, while trying to stab him, confronted him, questioning his actions despite his past protection of her for Lady Ye's sake. She accused him of failing to avenge Lady Ye and Ren Fei Yang's deaths, disappointed by his decision to retreat from the Moon Sect. Xiao Yiqing asked if Gao Mengfei had instigated her, but Shi Mingyan retorted that their only goal was to take his life.
Prepared for her treachery, Xiao Yiqing called his guards and ordered them to confine Shi Mingyan. Nan Chu confronted Chi Xiaotai, urging her to come to her senses and stop her rebellious actions. Chi Xiaotai defiantly declared that she was tired of being ignored by Xiao Yiqing, despite her devotion, and would rather destroy the Snow Tower he cherished than continue to live without a place in his heart.
Nan Chu reminded her of her status as their junior and how her actions would deeply hurt their master, imploring her to stop. However, Chi Xiaotai stated it was too late and there was no turning back, challenging Nan Chu to fight her. Nan Chu then commanded his subordinates to capture all Snow Tower rebels without exception.
He also instructed Hong Chen and Bi Luo to swiftly conclude their current tasks and return to protect the Tower Master, as Huang Quan and Zi Mo were engaged in battle outside. Outside, Huang Quan, severely wounded by Gao Mengfei, remained defiant, refusing to betray his loyalty to the Snow Tower.
Inside, Xiao Yiqing paced alone, reflecting on his youthful ambition to build a great legacy in the pugilistic world, creating his own martial community, and becoming the most renowned master, with the Snow Tower as the foundation of that dream.
