Xiao Yiqing was resolute in punishing Chi Xiaotai, which greatly displeased both Chi Xiaotai and Gao Mengfei. Chi Xiaotai felt she had become a joke to Snow Tower and wanted to leave. Gao Mengfei stopped her, asking her destination. Chi Xiaotai declared, "I'm now a joke to the people of Snow Tower. I will leave this place and never come back!"

Gao Mengfei tried to reason with her, pointing out that she had nowhere to go, acknowledging her as an orphan with no one to depend on. Chi Xiaotai lamented, "Yi Qing is my family. Why would he punish me so harshly just because of Shu Jingrong? Why?" Gao Mengfei responded, "You're not alone. You still have me." Chi Xiaotai scoffed, "Can you protect me for my whole life? Can you give me everything I want?

What did you do while I was being humiliated? You're only the Vice Lord of Snow Tower. You can't even be compared to the dying Shu Jingrong!" Gao Mengfei, deeply affected, then asked her, "If I'm more capable than him, if I become the Tower Master, what will you do then?" He silently resolved to become stronger than Xiao Yiqing.

Zi Mo discovered rumors spreading in Luoyang, claiming that Tower Master Xiao Yiqing was severely injured in Nanjiang and nearing his end. The rumors further stated that his injuries were solely due to saving Lady Jing, and that he had selfishly neglected the greater good of Snow Tower and the lives of its disciples for his personal interest. Zi Mo wondered aloud, "How did this happen? Why is this rumor spreading in Luoyang?

And this person knows the whereabouts of Tower Master very well. I believe there's a traitor around Tower Master. I need to notify Tower Master right away." Meanwhile, Gao Mengfei was orchestrating these events. A subordinate reported to him, confirming that all letters from Lan Xue Hall had been intercepted, including a letter from Madam Zi that Chi Xiaotai had destroyed.

The subordinate assured Gao Mengfei that Nan Chu had not discovered this, and Gao Mengfei commended his efforts in spreading rumors in Luoyang. Simultaneously, Nan Chu received a secret report: "Jing's poison acted up in Moon Palace and killed Xue Wen." He was deeply worried, knowing that Xiao Yiqing was still unwell. Qing Ming expressed her concern, "If he finds out about this. . ." Nan Chu debated, "Should I tell him the truth?"

Qing Ming urged, "This matter can't be hidden from him. It can't stay hidden for long. Let's tell him the truth." Qing Ming, however, was hesitant, "But. . . I'm worried that Tower Master Xiao can't handle such a huge impact. They are the two people whom Tower Master Xiao loves the most." Nan Chu agreed, "You're right. For his mother and Lady Jing, Yi Qing has sacrificed way too much."

Later, Xiao Yiqing, sensing Nan Chu's reluctance, pressed him for the truth. Nan Chu finally revealed the devastating news: "The news from Moon Sect said that Madam Xue Wen had been killed by Lady Jing." Xiao Yiqing was so shocked by this information that he spat blood, exclaiming, "Impossible. Impossible. I don't believe it." Qing Ming and Nan Chu rushed to his side. Xiao Yiqing then ordered Nan Chu to immediately contact Gu Guang to verify the incident.

Shu Jingrong awoke to find Jia Ruo guarding her. Jia Ruo assured her that her poison might attack anytime, and it was safer for him to guard her personally, as no one in the Moon Sect was her match except him. Shu Jingrong, recalling her prior discussion with Ming He, asked him if he remembered anything from the past.

Jia Ruo simply told her that she had been sleeping for days after her poison acted up and promised to fulfill what he had told Xiao Yiqing. He also mentioned that after treatment in Holy Lake, she might need time to rehabilitate. Soon after, Ming He visited Shu Jingrong, asking if Jia Ruo had told her anything important.

When Shu Jingrong inquired what she meant, Ming He maliciously revealed that Jia Ruo didn't have the heart to tell her that during her visit with Xue Wen, Shu Jingrong's poison had acted up, causing her to lose her mind and kill Xue Wen with her own hands. Ming He added that Xiao Yiqing had sent her to Moon Palace to save her, only for her to kill his mother. Shu Jingrong was incredulous, declaring, "No. That's impossible.

Where is Xue Wen right now? I need to see her." Ming He coldly replied, "There will be time for you to repent and visit her later. Once your poison is cured, I will take you back to Snow Tower and give Xiao Yiqing an explanation." After their heated exchange, Jia Ruo took Shu Jingrong to the Holy Lake to cure her poison.

Ming He, who was present, expressed concern for Jia Ruo's well-being given the lake's poisonous water, blaming Shu Jingrong for his troubles. Jia Ruo, seemingly unharmed, reminded Ming He of her promise, stating that the Blood Venom now in her body was the key to curing Shu Jingrong's poison. After the treatment, Jia Ruo expressed regret to Shu Jingrong, acknowledging he owed her.

Ming He proposed sending Shu Jingrong back to Snow Tower, but Jia Ruo refused, declaring, "She can't go back to Snow Tower now. I will take her away from Moon Sect. We shall hide from the warring and battles for now." Ming He was distraught, asking, "Hide from the warring and battles with her? What about me? Are you leaving me behind to face all these by myself?

Didn't you tell me that you won't leave me and would protect me and Moon Sect until you die?" Jia Ruo explained his resolve, "Ming He, I must recall my past memory. I don't wish to be tortured by nightmares every night and be trapped inside without knowing the truth. This life is a torture to me." He promised to return once his memory was restored.

Ming He, watching them leave, tearfully whispered, "Jia Ruo, you will never come back once you recall your memory." Back at Snow Tower, Chi Xiaotai and Gao Mengfei discussed the spreading rumors. Gao Mengfei asked, "Rumors have been spreading. Which of it is the truth?" Chi Xiaotai dismissed the importance of truth, stating, "Truth? Is the truth that important? How I hope this rumor is true. In that case, Yi Qing will then have complicated feelings towards Shu Jingrong.

But, I'd really like to see how they try to kill each other while being so in love." She hoped Shu Jingrong had indeed killed Xue Wen, believing it would cause an irreparable rift between Shu Jingrong and Xiao Yiqing. Gao Mengfei, reaffirming his devotion, told her, "From now on, everything I do is for you."

At King Zhen Nan's Manor, the King expressed his distress over the recent events caused by Ren Feiyang's escape, noting he had issued a verdict for his immediate arrest and execution. Consort Li, however, was hesitant to see Ren Feiyang killed, wishing to question his motives herself. The King found her concern for a mere thief perplexing. Just then, Gao Mengfei requested an audience.

Upon entering, he reported to the King and Consort Li that Snow Tower had captured Ren Feiyang and executed him on the spot as per the King's order. Hearing this, Consort Li was distraught, believing her son had been killed. She feigned illness to dismiss the King, but in her thoughts, she vowed revenge for the Moon Sect and for her son's supposed death, planning to assassinate the King that night.

That night, Consort Li attempted to assassinate the King with a dagger. However, the King was prepared, revealing that the Crown Prince had long warned him of her ill intentions, and he had been waiting for this moment. Gao Mengfei, the Crown Prince, and a very much alive Ren Feiyang emerged from a hidden ambush. Ren Feiyang reminded Gao Mengfei of their agreement as Consort Li was captured.

Seeing Ren Feiyang unharmed, Consort Li realized that everything had been a setup orchestrated by Snow Tower, and her deep affection for her son had ultimately led to her downfall.

In the prison, Gao Mengfei informed Consort Li that her real son had died from a cold when he was barely one year old, and the jade pendant, her son's keepsake, had been sold by a midwife and eventually came into Xiao Yiqing's possession, who used it to set this trap. Shortly after, the King arrived at the dungeon to confront Consort Li.

Gao Mengfei revealed her true identity as Huo Qing Mei, the eldest daughter of the Huo family of Golden Swords, whom the King believed to have died long ago. Huo Qing Mei bitterly confessed her failure to personally kill her enemy after suffering and hiding in the Manor for so many years. The King, hurt, questioned her deep hatred.

She recounted how, in the name of eliminating evil, he had allied with her own family to kill Han Bu Yun, the man she loved. The Crown Prince then elaborated, explaining that Huo Qing Mei, pregnant at the time, had escaped and given birth under the protection of the Moon Sect. Driven by personal enmity and Moon Sect's orders, she changed her name and infiltrated the Manor.

The King recalled that Huo Qing Mei had eloped with Han Bu Yun against her family's wishes, and he had joined forces with the Huo family to kill Han Bu Yun's family after they were discovered to be using Moon God Flower poison to manipulate others. The Crown Prince added that Huo Qing Mei was also the mastermind behind his own assassination attempt in Luoyang.

Gao Mengfei, confident of military aid, told the King that with his support, Snow Tower's war against the Moon Sect would be victorious, but the King's tone was dismissive. He ordered Gao Mengfei to leave, stating the matter was a household affair. Alone with Consort Li, the King lamented his devotion to her over the years, only to discover her relentless efforts to harm the Crown Prince and kill him.

Consort Li, now revealed as Huo Qing Mei, coldly retorted that he remained her husband's murderer. She mocked Xiao Yiqing's cunning for using her son as a trap, and seeing her revenge thwarted and her son dead, she decided her life had no meaning. With a cold smile, she consumed poison, declaring that her death would create dissension for the Moon Sect. The King cried out in despair as she died.

Later, when Xiao Yiqing inquired about the situation at King Zhen Nan's Manor, Nan Chu reported that the King had rejected all their envoys, distraught over Consort Li's suicide and refusing to offer military support for Snow Tower's attack on the Moon Sect. Enraged by Gao Mengfei's unauthorized actions, Xiao Yiqing confronted him, demanding to know why he acted without permission. He accused Gao Mengfei of ruining his carefully laid plans for King Zhen Nan's Manor.

Gao Mengfei tried to explain that he feared causing more trouble, but Xiao Yiqing cut him off, asking if he was aware of the news from the Manor. Nan Chu interjected, explaining that after Gao Mengfei left, Consort Li committed suicide, plunging King Zhen Nan into such distress that he refused to provide any military support against the Moon Sect. Gao Mengfei exclaimed in disbelief, "How can it be?"

Xiao Yiqing, furious, stripped Gao Mengfei of his Lord position and ordered him to return to Luoyang immediately, questioning how he could lead disciples after acting so recklessly. Chi Xiaotai, unsatisfied, interjected, reminding Xiao Yiqing of Gao Mengfei's many contributions to Snow Tower and arguing that the situation at the Manor wasn't entirely his fault. Xiao Yiqing sharply told her to keep quiet, saying it had nothing to do with her. Gao Mengfei then retorted, "That's right. There's only Shu Jingrong in Tower Master's heart now. He doesn't care about others anymore!" Both Gao Mengfei and Chi Xiaotai were indignant about the punishment.
