> Killer And Healer Recap

When Chen Yuzhi provided the police bureau with a Jinma Hall lead, an arrest was made. However, the prisoner, despite being thoroughly restrained with cuffed hands, tied feet, and a gag to prevent suicide by biting his tongue, mysteriously died on the way back to the bureau. Chief Jin Dacheng, who had led the arrest, faced a stern inquiry from Feng Daju, who questioned the bizarre circumstances of the death.

Jin Dacheng, initially defensive, asserted his actions were standard and the death was unexpected, hinting at a larger mystery. An initial autopsy report later confirmed that the prisoner died of poisoning, a method chillingly identical to the death of Wu Shuwei. Amidst the unfolding mystery, Chen Yuzhi, still grieving the loss of Keying, paused outside a cake shop.

Seeing two children admiring a cake, he was reminded of his late sister and her simple birthday wish to always be with him. He bought them a cake and even offered them his umbrella, a gesture of quiet kindness. Later, as Chen Yuzhi was about to open his clinic, Jiang Yuelou arrived to deliver unsettling news: the suspect arrested by Jin Dacheng had reportedly committed suicide. This official narrative, however, was a cover-up.

Elsewhere, in a private residence, Brother Huo furiously reprimanded Wang Meng, a Jinma Hall subordinate, for his reckless actions, specifically for engaging in women trafficking against San Ye's strict orders to lay low. Brother Huo indicated that Wang Meng's reckless actions had contributed to Jinma Hall attracting unwanted attention from Jiang Yuelou and the police bureau.

Though Wang Meng tried to shift blame, Brother Huo, suspecting his involvement in recent trafficking activities, confined him for ten days as punishment, reminding him of San Ye's displeasure. Jiang Yuelou and Chen Yuzhi began to piece together the truth. Chen Yuzhi, recalling bandaging the actual Jinma Hall member’s left hand and noticing calluses, realized the body in the morgue had calluses on the right hand. This confirmed a body swap.

They deduced the swap must have occurred within the police bureau itself, as a swap on the road with so many onlookers would have been impossible. Chen Yuzhi theorized that an insider, deeply familiar with police procedures, exploited a loophole. He pointed out that while arresting officers were not authorized in the morgue and morgue staff were not at the crime scene, only Jin Dacheng had been present at both.

However, Jin Dacheng, always maintaining a safe distance, likely hadn't seen the suspect up close, making him an unwitting pawn in the mole's plan. This suggested the mole knew both the procedures and Jin Dacheng's habits. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, they agreed to formally cooperate. Arriving at the morgue, Chen Yuzhi quickly confirmed the body was indeed not the original suspect.

Before they could react, two police officers entered, complaining about the eerie atmosphere, and began moving the body. Jiang Yuelou did not pursue them directly, having already dispatched Song Rong and Sun Yongren to follow the body discreetly. The next morning, Jiang Yuelou convened an emergency meeting, to the chagrin of some officers. He announced that the morgue had been broken into and the mysterious corpse, the one that had died on the way, was now missing.

He revealed that this body was merely a scapegoat, not the actual Jinma Hall member. Jiang Yuelou then directly accused Chief Qian Tongqing, stunning the room. He explained that Chief Qian, the mole, had orchestrated the swap. The only possible time for the exchange, Jiang Yuelou clarified, was during the brief seconds the prisoner was out of sight of the sentries, specifically during the transfer from the car to the interrogation room.

The mole would then declare a "suicide," diverting attention, while the real criminal escaped. Chief Qian, defiant, demanded evidence. Jiang Yuelou had Sun Yongren bring in two police officers, He Jiu and another colleague, who reluctantly testified. They recounted how Chief Qian had approached them the previous night, claiming the body was poisoned and showing signs of decay, asking them to help the Trace Examination Department dispose of it for a small "reward."

They had barely finished burying the corpse when someone opened fire on them, a clear attempt at eliminating witnesses. They confirmed that only the timely arrival of Song Rong and Sun Yongren had saved them from being left as dead bodies in the wilderness. Cornered, Qian Tongqing pulled a gun, but Song Rong quickly subdued him. Desperate, Qian Tongqing wrestled a gun from a nearby officer and, surrounded, chose to take his own life rather than face capture and torture.

Back in his office, Jiang Yuelou, visibly enraged and frustrated, dismissed Song Rong and Sun Yongren. Chen Yuzhi gently advised him to calm down, noting the toll that a sleepless night and immense pressure were taking on him. Jiang Yuelou expressed his disappointment, feeling they could have secured a "more beautiful" victory. Chen Yuzhi, however, reassured him that they had indeed won.

Jiang Yuelou reflected on the shocking revelation that Qian Tongqing, who had worked diligently for three years in the police bureau, was actually an undercover Jinma Hall agent, highlighting the terrifying depth of their infiltration. Chen Yuzhi encouraged him, reminding Jiang Yuelou that his persistent efforts, from tackling grassroots opium dealers to uncovering mid-level moles, were bringing them closer to the truth, and that victory, for both of them, was inevitable.

Meanwhile, within Jinma Hall, a "Boss" (presumably a high-ranking member under San Ye) and Han Zhong discussed the catastrophic fallout. The Boss was furious with Li Chao, whose blunder had not only led to Jiang Yuelou's increased vigilance but also resulted in the loss of their valuable "pawn," Qian Tongqing, who had been strategically placed in the police bureau for three years and was meant for other purposes.

The Boss decreed that Li Chao must die for his failure, and instructed Han Zhong to dispose of him cleanly. They also acknowledged the new challenge posed by the anonymous whistleblower whose identity remained unknown, making it difficult to counter, especially with the police bureau now under city-wide curfew. Later, Chen Yuzhi witnessed a minor altercation where a young woman bumped into an elderly woman, breaking her box. The young woman was reluctant to apologize.

Chen Yuzhi stepped in, offering money to the elderly woman, observing quietly that sometimes, money proves more effective than an apology. Simultaneously, Jiang Yuelou's subordinate urged him to attend a significant public event hosted by Chief Zhao, the Deputy President of Customs. The subordinate stressed the importance of networking with commercial moguls, business owners, and high officials, highlighting the treacherous waters of officialdom. However, Jiang Yuelou remained focused on his police work, preferring to review capture records.

He eventually arrived late at the opening ceremony of the second branch of Daxing Company, where Executive Zhan of the Finance Department and Chief Zhao were already present, preparing for the ribbon-cutting. Jiang Yuelou offered his congratulations to Chief Zhao.
