Hua Buqi adamantly promised Uncle Jiu she would not engage in business, but a silver ingot accidentally fell from her clothes. Uncle Jiu was furious, reprimanding her for interacting too much with people and secretly conducting business. Hua Buqi, feeling wronged, explained she only wanted to earn money for his medical treatment because he coughed so badly. She resented his constant scolding and his refusal to reveal the truth behind their hiding.

Despite their heated argument, Hua Buqi, seeing Uncle Jiu cough, couldn't help but apologize, earning his forgiveness. Suddenly, Uncle Jiu suffered a severe coughing fit and collapsed. Hua Buqi quickly used her earnings to call a doctor, but was told his illness was too advanced, beyond the doctor's capabilities. Only the Spring Revival Pill from Yaoling Manor could save him. Meanwhile, Chen Yu pondered over Hua Buqi. The Yaoling Manor incident also troubled him greatly.

He decided to go to Yaoling Manor to obtain the Spring Revival Pill and meet the manor owner, Lin Mantang. The Spring Revival Pill from Yaoling Manor had life-prolonging effects and was extremely valuable. At Yaoling Manor, Chen Yu, identifying himself as having come to obtain medicine for the Seventh Prince, was respectfully greeted by the owner, Lin Mantang. Lin Mantang, despite the pill's rarity and life-prolonging effects, generously offered Chen Yu two Spring Revival Pills.

As Chen Yu was being given a tour of the manor, Hua Buqi arrived, desperate to buy the pill. She was initially turned away by the apprentices, who scoffed at her inability to afford the expensive medicine, especially since the last two pills had just been given to Young Master Chen. Hua Buqi then scaled a wall to enter, pleading with Lin Mantang for a pill.

Lin Mantang explained that the pills were now with Chen Yu, making him the one to decide. Hua Buqi tearfully begged Chen Yu, explaining her uncle's dire condition and her need to save his life. Chen Yu, however, adamantly refused to give one up. He then had Hua Buqi forcibly removed from the manor. Hua Buqi returned to Uncle Jiu, distraught and blaming herself for her inability to secure the medicine.

Soon after, Chen Yu, in his disguise as the Lotus Robe Knight, appeared. Without a word, he silently left one Spring Revival Pill and departed. Hua Buqi was overwhelmed with gratitude. Thanks to the pill, Uncle Jiu regained consciousness. Realizing his time was short, Uncle Jiu resolved to take Hua Buqi to the capital city to meet Mr. Zhu. He felt that Hua Buqi, now grown, deserved to know her true identity and choose her own path.

Before their departure, Hua Buqi bid farewell to her companions in town. Unbeknownst to her, agents from Mingyue Villa spotted her and began to discreetly follow her. Knowing Uncle Jiu's weak and ailing health could not withstand a long journey, Hua Buqi went to an inn where Chen Yu was staying, having heard he was returning to the capital. She hoped he would give them a ride. Chen Yu explicitly refused her request.

Resourceful, Hua Buqi then staged a dramatic scene in the inn, pretending to be pregnant with Chen Yu's child, accusing him of abandoning her to return to the capital. This charade quickly spread rumors, humiliating Chen Yu. Unable to bear the whispers, Chen Yu reluctantly agreed to take them, on the condition that Hua Buqi wash all his clothes thoroughly.

Hua Buqi readily accepted, but upon seeing the enormous pile of clothing, she publicly washed them in the inn's courtyard, continuing her act and further damaging Chen Yu's reputation. Meanwhile, Lin Dansha, Lin Mantang's daughter, accompanied Chen Yu on a tour of Xizhou Prefecture as instructed by her father. Chen Yu subtly probed Lin Dansha for information about the medicine heist. Upon returning to the inn, Chen Yu was met with cold glares from the other guests.

His attendant, Chen Shi, reported Hua Buqi's continued slander. Chen Yu, exasperated, agreed to take Hua Buqi to the capital, but only after she clarified the situation to the inn guests to clear his name. After Hua Buqi left, Chen Yu was torn. Hua Buqi bore a striking resemblance to Xue Fei, sharing eight-tenths of her features. If Hua Buqi was Xue Fei's daughter, he vowed never to take her to the capital.

However, if she was not, he felt compelled to help the pitiful girl. At the Prince's Manor, the Seventh Prince had learned of Hua Buqi's whereabouts. Deeming the matter of great importance, he decided to immediately write to Chen Yu, using his 'dying wish' to instruct Chen Yu to find Hua Buqi and bring her back. In Mingyue Villa, a red-clad woman named Qingwu reported her failure to her master. He lightly chastised her, urging more caution.

Qingwu then brought up Hua Buqi, revealing her to be Xue Fei's daughter. She understood her master's long-standing affection for Xue Fei, but inwardly seethed with hatred for Hua Buqi. Though she outwardly pledged to retrieve Hua Buqi for her master, she harbored a secret intent to kill her. Uncle Jiu had packed their belongings, ready to travel to the capital with Hua Buqi. However, people from Mingyue Villa suddenly appeared, led by Qingwu, determined to take their lives.

Uncle Jiu, knowing escape was impossible, urged Hua Buqi to survive. He bravely engaged the assailants, but outnumbered, he was no match. He handed Hua Buqi his satchel and his alms bowl, instructing her to find Mr. Zhu at the Xingyuan Pawnshop on the south lane in the capital, emphasizing no one else. Hua Buqi resisted leaving, but seeing Uncle Jiu use his body to block their attackers, sacrificing himself, she tearfully fled into the pouring rain.
