Master Kongkong told Qi Chunjiao that she is the key to everything, the beginning and the end, and advised her to follow her heart and make her own choices before his life ended. Duan Yu and his companions arrived at the Divine Palace but were blocked by the Priests. Duan Yu explained he was there because his fiancée, Gu Qingqiao, had been taken by Priest Lu Zizheng.

The Priests asserted that having passed the trials, a Priest has no worldly identity regardless of their past and that Priest Lu Zizheng had reasons for his actions, refusing to hand over Gu Qingqiao. Unable to resolve the situation peacefully, Duan Yu and his group engaged in a fight with the Priests. Shaoyi and others held off the Priests, urging Duan Yu to hurry and find Gu Qingqiao. Duan Yu confronted Priest Lu Zizheng.

Lu Zizheng taunted Duan Yu, remarking that his internal energy was blocked and difficult to use, warning that further use would only hasten his death. He revealed that Miss Du, Du Ruoyun, was responsible for rigging something against Duan Yu. As they fought, Gu Qingqiao used one of Duan Yu's arrows to strike and wound Lu Zizheng. At that moment, the gate of time and space opened. Characters urged Qiao to enter the gate quickly to go home.

However, Lu Zizheng attacked from behind. Standing over Gu Qingqiao, Lu Zizheng declared that this was destiny and it could not be changed. He vowed to revive the Sacred Blood Sect, dominate the martial world, and allow the Sacred Blood Clan to live openly, no longer needing to hide. Gu Qingqiao suddenly awoke, finding the world drastically changed. Her hair had turned completely white, startling passersby in Changqing. The Changqing Duan family no longer existed.

She learned that all the shops and businesses were now owned by the Sacred Blood Sect. She went to Qingfeng Restaurant to find her father, Gu Xingwu, but he did not recognize her, believing his daughter had passed away years ago. Searching for answers, she inquired about the authorities, but even the local magistrate's name was different. Feeling lost, she visited the ancient Acacia Tree where she had once made a promise with Duan Yu.

As she reminisced, a young man appeared behind her who looked exactly like Duan Yu. Excitedly, she rushed to embrace him, only for him to introduce himself as Song Yu, a scholar. Despite his insistence that he was Song Yu and didn't know her, Gu Qingqiao was convinced he was Duan Yu, arguing that even if the past was changed, his identity couldn't be altered so completely. Song Yu maintained his identity and left.

Song Yu returned home with Gu Qingqiao and told his parents that he had become intimate with her and must take responsibility, asking for their approval to marry. His father was furious that he had become so involved with someone he had just met. His mother questioned the suddenness and Gu Qingqiao's unknown background and white hair, seeing it as an ill omen.

Gu Qingqiao tried to explain to Song Yu that she was originally from the 21st century, her real name was Qi Chunjiao, and she needed to gather the Four Treasures to return home, mentioning their past connection as betrothed in a previous life. Song Yu, unable to comprehend her story, believed she was suffering from "madness" that could perhaps be controlled.

He later discussed arranging a formal engagement and bringing betrothal gifts, despite Gu Qingqiao saying it wasn't necessary, insisting on proper etiquette. Meanwhile, Priest Lu Zizheng examined a book titled "Chronicles of Eternal Life" written by Song Chengming, which detailed the Sacred Blood Sect's practice of using live human blood. He ordered the author killed. Lu Zizheng questioned Ruoyun about the Xu family in Cangzhou and their efforts to bring Jizhou Academy under Sacred Blood Sect influence.

Ruoyun reported that the eldest son of the Xu family was frail and could only survive using the Sacred Blood Sect's Blood Technique, which had convinced Xu Xin to pledge loyalty in exchange for a prior promise from Lu Zizheng. Ruoyun expressed caution about trusting Xu Xin, being from one of the Four Noble Families. Lu Zizheng dismissed her concerns.

Noticing Ruoyun's fear, Lu Zizheng told her she was now the Priestess of the Sacred Blood Sect and did not need to be timid as she was before. The next morning, Song Yu brought a variety of breakfast items for Gu Qingqiao, unsure of her preferences. He told her to blame him if there were any conflicts with his parents.

Song Yu's mother spoke privately with Gu Qingqiao, emphasizing that her unknown origins and white hair would cause Song Yu to be plagued by gossip, hindering his studies and future prospects. She added that Gu Qingqiao's frail appearance suggested she could not adequately care for Song Yu throughout their lives. Gu Qingqiao acknowledged the truth in her words, realizing she might not be able to care for him for a lifetime and that a mismatched marriage would bring hardship.

Song Yu's mother urged her to reconsider, suggesting Song Yu should marry someone better suited for him. Later, at Yuyou Academy, Song Yu was warned by classmates about Gu Qingqiao, who called her a "witch" because of her white hair. Song Yu defended her, leading to a fight. Gu Qingqiao arrived and stopped the fight, telling the classmates that they had misunderstood and that she had merely received temporary shelter from Song Yu, denying any other relationship between them.

Song Yu was hurt by her denial, reminding her of her previous promises to grow old together and have children. Gu Qingqiao then claimed she had been lying the day before, intending to scam some money and leave, but he had taken her too seriously. She reiterated that her hair was already white, so growing old together was impossible, and called him a naive "bookworm" before bidding him farewell and stating she was leaving Changqing.

Song Yu's mother later informed Song Chengming that Gu Qingqiao had agreed to leave. Song Chengming expressed worry about Song Yu and the growing power of the Sacred Blood Sect, stating it was not yet safe to reveal certain matters to Song Yu. Despite the danger, he was organizing scholars to resist the Sacred Blood Sect's cruel practices of using live humans for blood techniques and seizing property.
