Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre Episode 9 Recap
> Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre Recap
The little girl was called Zhou Zhiruo. She took Zhang Wuji home. Her father immediately went to find Chang Yuchun of the Ming Cult for help, because Chang Yuchun knew many renowned martial arts doctors. Zhang Wuji knew his illness was incurable and didn't want to implicate the father and daughter. He struggled to get up and leave.
Zhou Zhiruo quickly stopped him, making an excuse that he had scratched her arm, and asked him to stay and work to atone for it. Zhang Wuji didn't want to owe her, so he had to stay. Zhou Zhiruo's mother had passed away last year, and her father, a boatman, was often away from home. So Zhang Wuji and Zhou Zhiruo depended on each other for survival.
The two went up the mountain together to pick oranges and then sold them at the market to supplement their household income. Zhou Zhiruo took a liking to a silk handkerchief embroidered with white angelica and katsuragusa, but they had no money. Zhang Wuji returned home and began embroidering a handkerchief, wanting to repay Zhou Zhiruo's kindness with it so that he could die without any burdens.
Zhou Zhiruo, in a fit of pique, refused his handkerchief and didn't want him to leave. Zhang Wuji didn't want Zhou Zhiruo to be sad, so he swore to eat well from then on. Zhang Wuji took Zhou Zhiruo to sell oranges at the market. Suddenly, they saw government soldiers bringing Zhou's father over and relentlessly interrogating him about Chang Yuchun's whereabouts. Zhou's father refused to answer. The soldiers, in a fit of rage, killed him, then interrogated Zhou Zhiruo.
Zhang Wuji grabbed Zhou Zhiruo and ran, but they were surrounded by the soldiers, who tightly gripped their necks. Fortunately, Chang Yuchun arrived in time, drove away the soldiers, and rescued them. A group of Tibetan monks suddenly rushed out and surrounded Chang Yuchun. Chang Yuchun resisted desperately, but eventually, outnumbered, he was struck twice by palms. One Tibetan monk raised a weapon and struck at Zhang Wuji.
Zhang Sanfeng descended from the sky, rescued Zhang Wuji, and instantly subdued the Shaolin warrior monks. Chang Yuchun thanked Zhang Sanfeng for saving his life. Zhang Sanfeng advised him to leave the Ming Cult and become Song Yuanqiao's disciple. But Chang Yuchun believed he had never done anything treacherous or evil, and he did not want to betray his sect.
Zhang Sanfeng no longer forced him, saying that as long as he was wholeheartedly good, there was no need to distinguish between different sects. Chang Yuchun helped bury Zhou's father and wanted to send Zhang Wuji to Butterfly Valley to seek treatment from Hu Qingniu. Zhang Sanfeng had long heard that Hu Qingniu's medical skills were superb, but he had an eccentric temperament, only treating members of the Demonic Cult and refusing to save outsiders.
Chang Yuchun wanted to take Zhang Wuji to try, and entrusted Zhang Sanfeng to take care of Zhou Zhiruo. Zhang Sanfeng repeatedly admonished Chang Yuchun not to allow Zhang Wuji to join the Demonic Cult. Chang Yuchun took Zhang Wuji to Butterfly Valley, and Zhang Sanfeng took Zhou Zhiruo to Wudang Mountain. They parted with reluctance. Chang Yuchun took Zhang Wuji trekking through mountains and rivers, enduring outdoor life. Traveling day and night, they finally arrived at Butterfly Valley.
Hu Qingniu was catching butterflies for wing-replacement experiments. He recognized at a glance that Chang Yuchun had been struck by the Tibetan monk's Heart-Severing Palm, but he had been fatigued for days, and the cold poison had already attacked his heart. When Hu Qingniu learned that Zhang Wuji was the son of Zhang Cuishan of the Wudang Sect, he immediately became furious. Despite Chang Yuchun's earnest pleas, Hu Qingniu insisted on not treating anyone who wasn't a Ming Cult disciple.
Chang Yuchun would rather give up his own treatment to save Zhang Wuji's life. Hu Qingniu, enraged, punched Chang Yuchun out the door. Zhang Wuji rushed forward to argue with Hu Qingniu and condemned him for not being worthy of being a doctor. Hu Qingniu noticed Zhang Wuji's hands were icy cold and determined that he had been struck by the long-lost Xuanming Divine Palm, and was miraculously still alive. Hu Qingniu's medical curiosity was ignited.
He immediately picked up Zhang Wuji and went into the house. Hu Qingniu used twelve steel needles to seal Zhang Wuji's meridians, then treated him with moxibustion. In the middle of the night, Zhang Wuji saw Chang Yuchun sleeping outside. He wanted Hu Qingniu to treat Chang Yuchun and slept outside with him. The next morning, Hu Qingniu impatiently pulled Zhang Wuji into the house, planning to treat his Daimai.
Zhang Wuji remembered the meridian theory Xie Xun had taught him and began to argue with Hu Qingniu. Hu Qingniu gave Zhang Wuji a book about the Daimai. Zhang Wuji immediately picked it up and read it carefully. Hu Qingniu told him to read it thoroughly before continuing the treatment. Zhang Wuji read all of Hu Qingniu's medical collection, one by one, compared the explanations regarding the Daimai, and reported them in detail to Hu Qingniu.
Hu Qingniu praised him greatly and immediately presented him with the Ziwei Acupuncture Classic, a compilation of his life's work. Zhang Wuji quickly found a way to resolve the Heart-Severing Palm, but he did not understand medicine and could not comprehend its mysteries. So he came to ask Hu Qingniu for advice. Hu Qingniu saw at a glance that he wanted to save Chang Yuchun and deliberately remained silent. Zhang Wuji was not discouraged.
He pulled out all the medical texts and diligently studied them, then prepared a dose of medicine for Chang Yuchun. After Chang Yuchun took it, he began to develop a high fever.
