Zhou Zhiruo, having no other choice, had to swear a poisonous oath as Miejue Shitai demanded. Zhao Min threatened to kill Zhou Zhiruo, wanting to see Zhang Wuji's reaction. Zhang Wuji no longer wanted to kill for revenge, nor did he want mutual slaughter. He wanted to be friends with Zhao Min peacefully, but Zhao Min could not do it. She wanted blood for blood, and defiantly threatened to kill Zhou Zhiruo to vent her anger.

Zhang Wuji declared that he would stop her, and from then on, he would no longer be her friend. The person Zhang Wuji hated most in his life was Cheng Kun, but he was now dead. The hatred in Zhang Wuji's heart disappeared, leaving only pity for Cheng Kun, and he even felt sorry for his death. Zhao Min wanted to know Zhang Wuji's true feelings after her death. Zhang Wuji quickly interrupted her, firmly forbidding her to die.

Zhao Min felt a warmth in her heart. Zhang Wuji seized the opportunity to persuade her to release the people from the various major sects, but Zhao Min asked him to persuade those people to surrender to the imperial court. Zhang Wuji swore he would rather die than assist a dimwitted and tyrannical imperial court. Miejue Shitai told Zhou Zhiruo to kneel and immediately passed the position of sect leader to her.

Zhou Zhiruo worried that she could not handle the responsibility, but Miejue Shitai's mind was made up. Lu Zhuangke urged the two of them to hurry up. Miejue Shitai once again chased him away and personally placed the Emei sect's iron ring on Zhou Zhiruo's hand, whispering a great secret to her. Lu Zhuangke returned to the room where Han Ji was hiding, intending to consummate their relationship, but was unexpectedly acupunctured by Fan Yao.

Lu Zhuangke thus concluded that Fan Yao was inextricably linked with the Ming Cult, which was why he had meticulously designed such a grand scheme. Fan Yao admitted that he was Fan Yao, the Bright Right Emissary of the Ming Cult, and then placed Lu Zhuangke on Han Ji's bed, took the keys from his waist, and went to release the disciples of the six major sects.

Miejue Shitai repeatedly exhorted Zhou Zhiruo to glorify Emei, but Zhou Zhiruo felt that she was unworthy and incapable of bearing such a heavy responsibility, earnestly begging Miejue Shitai to pass the position to other senior sisters. Miejue Shitai, infuriated, slapped her hard, and Zhou Zhiruo was knocked unconscious. Fan Yao arrived at the place where the Wudang sect members were imprisoned, explained his identity to them, and urged them to quickly take the antidote.

Song Qingshu suspected that he and Zhao Min were colluding. Song Yuanqiao snatched the antidote and took it. Fan Yao then went to rescue the others. Zhou Zhiruo finally woke up. Miejue Shitai knelt and begged her to accept the position of sect leader and lead the Emei sect to become the supreme leader of the martial arts world. If Zhou Zhiruo did not agree, she would remain kneeling. Zhou Zhiruo had no choice but to agree.

Fan Yao handed the antidote to Miejue Shitai and explained his identity to her. Miejue Shitai did not appreciate Zhang Wuji's kindness. Fan Yao lied, claiming it was poison, and deliberately used provocation to force Miejue Shitai to take poison and commit suicide. Miejue Shitai defiantly took the medicine. Fan Yao then made Zhou Zhiruo swallow the antidote. Fan Yao falsely claimed that Miejue Shitai and Zhou Zhiruo had already taken poison, and forcefully made Ding Minjun swallow medicine.

Fan Yao seized the opportunity to acupunctured the other disciples and gave them the antidote one by one. The foreign soldiers searched all over Wan'an Temple but could not find Han Ji's whereabouts. They had no choice but to report to Steward Ha.

Steward Ha learned that Lu Zhuangke's room had not been searched, so he quickly pushed the door open and saw He Bweng fallen on the ground, then realizing that Fan Yao had tricked them for the antidote to save people in the pagoda. Zhang Wuji recounted the imperial court's tyranny and cruelty to Zhao Min.

Zhao Min had also witnessed corrupt officials oppressing the common people, but she was of low status and had little influence, only able to do her meager best to save the people. The two expressed their views freely and had a pleasant conversation. Fan Yao then arrived at the places where the Shaolin, Kongtong, and Huashan sects were imprisoned, giving them the antidote one by one.

Just then, He Bweng brought Steward Ha to the bottom of the pagoda and loudly challenged Fan Yao. Fan Yao then came out, holding Lu Zhuangke and Han Ji hostage, publicly exposing their illicit affair. He also claimed that He Bweng was in league with them. Fan Yao intended to take Lu Zhuangke and Han Ji to report to Prince Ruyang. He Bweng repeatedly declared his loyalty to Steward Ha.

The two each stuck to their own story, and Steward Ha was momentarily unsure how to decide. The Young Prince arrived at the pagoda with his men. Fan Yao and He Bweng each reported the situation to him. The Young Prince ordered Fan Yao to bring Lu Zhuangke and Han Ji down, as he wanted to interrogate them himself.

Fan Yao, feigning a foot injury and inability to walk, angered the Young Prince, who then ordered the pagoda to be burned down, letting them and the six major sects perish together. He Bweng desperately tried to stop him, wanting to save Lu Zhuangke, but the Young Prince would not listen. The great fire raged, and the pagoda quickly became engulfed in a sea of flames.

Zhao Min wanted to be an ordinary person, so she could travel through famous mountains and rivers with Zhang Wuji and live a carefree life. Zhang Wuji also yearned for such an ordinary life. Zhao Min asked Zhang Wuji who was more beautiful, she or Zhou Zhiruo. Zhang Wuji blurted out that she was the most beautiful.

Zhao Min then seized the opportunity to propose that Zhang Wuji take her to see the Dragon Slaying Saber, to play with it for an hour, and then return it to Xie Xun. Zhao Min also wanted to meet the Golden Mane Lion King Xie Xun. Just then, someone shouted that the pagoda was on fire. Zhang Wuji quickly rushed back to check the situation. The fire grew fiercer.

Fan Yao directed everyone to flee to the top of the pagoda. Seeing the flames about to spread upwards, Miejue Shitai continued to meditate with Zhou Zhiruo. Fan Yao urged the two of them to quickly flee to the top of the pagoda. Miejue Shitai passed her internal energy to Zhou Zhiruo.

At the same time, Yang Xiao and Wei Yixiao arrived at the pagoda one after another and engaged in fierce combat with the foreign soldiers led by the Young Prince. He Bweng caught up with Fan Yao and condemned him, claiming that for Miejue Shitai and their illegitimate daughter Zhou Zhiruo, he had wrongly harmed Lu Zhuangke. Upon hearing this, Miejue Shitai immediately rushed out to argue with He Bweng.

He Bweng asked Miejue Shitai to persuade Fan Yao to release Lu Zhuangke. Fan Yao lied, claiming He Bweng was slandering Miejue Shitai. Miejue Shitai, furious, gnashed her teeth and chased after He Bweng, hitting him. Zhang Wuji subsequently arrived at the pagoda and met with Yang Xiao and Wei Yixiao, learning that the major sects were all trapped inside.

Seeing the fire growing fiercer and the Young Prince tightly guarding the pagoda entrance with his troops, Fan Yao stood on the pagoda and loudly reported to Zhang Wuji about everyone having taken the antidote. Zhang Wuji, eager to save people, charged directly towards the Young Prince. Zhao Min suddenly blocked the Young Prince, forbidding Zhang Wuji from harming her brother.

The Young Prince insisted on burning down the pagoda, letting all the disciples of the six major sects perish in the sea of flames. The disciples of the six major sects all gathered at the top of the pagoda. Miejue Shitai told Zhou Zhiruo to go to the top of the pagoda and meet with her senior sisters, while she stayed behind to fight He Bweng alone.
