Yang Xiao personally came out to welcome Wei Yixiao and the Ming Cult Five Wanderers. Unexpectedly, Wei Yixiao suddenly bit the tea-serving servant to death, sucking his blood to replenish his energy, and threatened Yang Xiao to reveal the candidate for the new leader. Considering the bigger picture, Yang Xiao could only suppress his anger and deal with Wei Yixiao.

He clearly stated that whoever obtained the Sacred Fire Token after repelling the enemies would be the new leader, and this was also a long-standing rule of the Ming Cult. Zhou Dian spoke disrespectfully to Yang Xiao. Yang Xiao argued with him, and Zhou Dian immediately became furious, raising his saber to slash at Yang Xiao. Yang Xiao effortlessly knocked his saber to the ground. Wei Yixiao also came to help.

Yang Xiao used Zhou Dian's Ice Cotton Palm to force the two of them to stop. The Iron-Crowned Taoist, Shuobude, Leng Qian, and Peng Yingyu each assisted Wei Yixiao and Zhou Dian. Yang Xiao had no choice but to use the Qiankun Da Nuoyi, firmly pinning them to the spot, unable to move. Yang Xiao earnestly urged them to prioritize the larger situation. Unexpectedly, the Shaolin monk Yuan Zhen ambushed Yang Xiao from behind. Yang Xiao was caught off guard.

Just as Yuan Zhen was about to attack the Five Wanderers and Wei Yixiao, Yang Xiao rushed forward selflessly to block Yuan Zhen, but was heavily struck by Yuan Zhen's Phantom Yin Finger onto a stone pillar, spitting blood on the spot. Zhang Wuji, inside the Qiankun Yiqi Bag, saw everything clearly. Yang Buhui was worried about Yang Xiao, but Saikeli guarded the door tightly, not allowing her to leave even half a step.

Yuan Zhen claimed to be Master Kongjian's disciple. Yang Xiao cursed him, calling him a shameless scoundrel who harmed people from behind and was utterly unworthy of being Master Kongjian's disciple. Yang Xiao forced himself to gather strength, wanting to clear the name of Master Kongjian, but he was too severely injured to stand up. Yuan Zhen threatened that all seven of them, having been poisoned by the Phantom Yin Finger, would die within three days.

Yang Xiao condemned his despicable actions, but Yuan Zhen was full of excuses, claiming that he had entered through a secret passage in the Ming Cult's main altar. He clamored to wipe out the Ming Cult completely and disgrace its leader, Yang Dingtian. Zhou Dian and the others gnashed their teeth in anger and cursed Yuan Zhen, but he remained unconcerned, repeatedly claiming that Yang Dingtian and his wife had brought him from the secret passage to Guangming Ding.

Yang Buhui lied that the tea was poisoned, then seized the opportunity to knock out Saikeli and go look for Yang Xiao. Seeing Xiao Zhao suddenly emerge from her room, Yang Buhui concluded that Xiao Zhao was a spy and brought her back to the room for a thorough interrogation. Wei Yixiao took advantage of Yuan Zhen's unpreparedness to ambush him. Yuan Zhen immediately counterattacked.

Both were injured, so Yuan Zhen had to seal his acupoints on the spot to heal. Zhang Wuji wanted to go out and save Yang Xiao and the others, but Shuobude had been so badly beaten by Yuan Zhen that he couldn't move. Others couldn't open the Qiankun Yiqi Bag, so Shuobude had no choice but to tell Zhang Wuji to try to stand up and seize the opportunity to kill Yuan Zhen.

Wei Yixiao and Peng Yingyu also urged Zhang Wuji to kill Yuan Zhen, otherwise, once Yuan Zhen recovered his strength, everyone would die without a burial place. Zhang Wuji hesitated. Yuan Zhen promised not to harm Zhang Wuji, leaving Zhang Wuji in a dilemma, as he did not want to get involved in the conflict between Shaolin and Ming Cult.

Leng Qian suggested that Zhang Wuji strike Yuan Zhen's Yutang acupoint, which would cause no harm to Yuan Zhen, and also promised to send someone to escort Yuan Zhen down the mountain. After much consideration, Zhang Wuji leaned forward, just about to strike the acupoint, when Yang Xiao noticed something was wrong and quickly warned Zhang Wuji. But it was too late; Yuan Zhen suddenly used his Phantom Yin Finger and injured Zhang Wuji as well.

Zhang Wuji used the Nine Yang Divine Art to expel the poison. He felt that Yang Xiao and the Five Wanderers were not as utterly evil as rumors in the martial arts world suggested. So, he asked Shuobude about the Ming Cult's principles. Shuobude elaborated on the Ming Cult's heroic deeds of doing good, eliminating evil, and robbing the rich to help the poor, but they were pursued by the government, forcing them to act in secret.

The Six Major Sects regarded them as demonic cultists. Just then, Yuan Zhen recovered his strength and intended to go on a killing spree. Yang Xiao still couldn't understand how he had come to Guangming Ding through the secret passage, as only the cult leader Yang Dingtian knew of the Ming Cult's secret passages. Seeing that they had no chance of getting out alive, Yuan Zhen simply recounted the entire story.

Yuan Zhen admitted that his name before becoming a monk was Cheng Kun. He and Lady Yang, Yang Dingtian's wife, were fellow disciples, childhood sweethearts, and had an engagement. However, his junior sister was forced to marry Yang Dingtian, the leader of the Ming Cult. Cheng Kun was unwilling to accept this and wanted to challenge Yang Dingtian to a fight to the death. His junior sister desperately tried to stop him, as he was no match for Yang Dingtian.

Yet, Yang Dingtian was fully immersed in martial arts training and neglected Lady Yang. So, Cheng Kun and Lady Yang had secret meetings in the Ming Cult's secret passage. Zhang Wuji heard that Yuan Zhen was Cheng Kun, the one who caused Xie Xun's family to be ruined and killed. He gnashed his teeth in anger. While Cheng Kun and his junior sister were meeting in the secret passage, Yang Dingtian suddenly arrived and caught them red-handed.

Cheng Kun forced Yang Dingtian to approve their relationship. Just as Yang Dingtian was about to strike them, he suddenly spat blood and died on the spot. Cheng Kun discovered that Yang Dingtian had died because his unique martial arts cultivation had caused his true energy to reverse. Overwhelmed by shame, his junior sister committed suicide on the spot to be buried with Yang Dingtian. Cheng Kun was heartbroken.

He had waited so many years, only to be separated from his junior sister by death. Cheng Kun swore a solemn oath to completely eradicate the Ming Cult. He immediately returned to the Central Plains to seek help from his disciple Xie Xun, but unexpectedly, Xie Xun had become one of the Ming Cult's Four Great Dharma Kings.

Cheng Kun had no choice but to change his strategy, deciding to sow discord among them and make the Ming Cult members fight among themselves. Cheng Kun, fueled by alcohol, insulted Xie Xun's wife. When Xie Xun's parents tried to intervene, Cheng Kun killed the elderly couple and also smashed Xie Xun's son to death. His goal was to provoke Xie Xun's rage and make him indiscriminately kill innocent people everywhere.

Cheng Kun even secretly helped Xie Xun, killing many martial arts heroes. Cheng Kun grew more agitated as he spoke. Yang Xiao was speechless with anger. Just as Cheng Kun was about to attack and kill Yang Xiao, Zhang Wuji stepped forward in time and engaged in a fierce battle with Cheng Kun.
