Yin Tianying's prolonged absence caused alarm for Nine-tailed Red and Tianci. Tianci suspected Xu Xingcheng had lured her away, and a shocked Nine-tailed Red took him to the hospital to confront Xu Xingcheng. Xu Xingcheng, oblivious, was confused by their accusations but then recalled Hong Lan's previous mischievous suggestion. Realizing Hong Lan might be involved, he quickly set out to rescue Yin Tianying.
Meanwhile, Luo Fusheng sped off on his motorcycle towards Azalea Mountain for the rescue, while Hong Lan remained at home, visibly furious. Luo Fusheng arrived at the abandoned warehouse on Azalea Mountain, only to find that Yin Tianying had already managed to free herself and escape through a window. Based on her escape route, it was clear she had headed towards the dangerous Ghost Valley within Azalea Mountain.
Alarmed, Luo Fusheng immediately plunged into the dense, misty forest, calling out Yin Tianying's name as he anxiously searched for her. At the Hong family residence, Lin Qikai visited Hong Lan, presenting her with a bouquet of flowers. Hong Lan, still upset, asked Lin Qikai if she was truly as capricious and unreasonable as Luo Fusheng had claimed, wondering if anyone besides her father would like her.
Lin Qikai gently reassured her, acknowledging she might have a temper but affirmed her as a kind and innocent girl whose straightforward actions sometimes unintentionally caused offense. He suggested Luo Fusheng was merely teasing her. Just as Lin Qikai was about to leave, Xu Xingcheng arrived at Hong Lan's house, demanding to know Yin Tianying's whereabouts. An enraged Xu Xingcheng forced Hong Lan to admit that Yin Tianying had been confined in an old warehouse in the deep mountains of Azalea Mountain and had now fled into the treacherous, beast-infested wilderness.
He also learned that Luo Fusheng had gone into the mountain after her. Xu Xingcheng furiously warned Hong Lan that he would hold her responsible if anything happened to Yin Tianying or Luo Fusheng. Lin Qikai intervened, urging them to prioritize the rescue rather than arguing. Lin Qikai, Hong Lan, and Xu Xingcheng then prepared to set out to find them.
As they were about to depart, police officers, acting on Xu Ruian's orders, intercepted Xu Xingcheng, informing him he was suspected of kidnapping and needed to return to the station. Xu Xingcheng, desperate to save Yin Tianying, resisted, but Lin Qikai advised him to comply and promised to handle the rescue efforts. Xu Xingcheng was then taken away. Meanwhile, Yin Tianying was hopelessly lost in the dense forest, circling back to the same spots.
Luo Fusheng eventually found her by following the marks she had made on trees. However, as he reached her, they were suddenly surrounded by a pack of wolves. With Yin Tianying having twisted her ankle, Luo Fusheng grabbed her, and they ran for their lives, narrowly escaping. They reached a dead-end slope and both tumbled down the mountainside. Xu Ruian had Xu Xingcheng confined.
Xu Xingcheng pleaded with his father to let him go to Azalea Mountain to save Luo Fusheng and Yin Tianying. Xu Ruian, with a cold demeanor, questioned him, asking him to choose between saving his brother Luo Fusheng and saving Yin Tianying. Xu Xingcheng staunchly refused to make such a choice, asserting that he could not lose either of them.
Xu Ruian then explained that he would be forced by the world to make such harsh choices, emphasizing that while he held power now, circumstances could change, and he might become the one being chosen. He offered to release Xu Xingcheng and send his men for the rescue if Xu Xingcheng would provide an answer. Luo Fusheng and Yin Tianying regained consciousness to find it was night. Yin Tianying's leg was bleeding from a wound.
Luo Fusheng used liquor to disinfect it, and despite her pain, she bit his arm. He playfully called her a "puppy." As heavy rain began to fall, Luo Fusheng carried Yin Tianying to a cave for shelter. Inside, he lit a fire and offered her some white wine to warm up. Initially hesitant due to a past bad experience with a cocktail at a bar with Xu Xingcheng, Yin Tianying eventually drank the strong white wine.
It was then she realized, for the first time, that Luo Fusheng was not just a reckless brute but also possessed a thoughtful side. She expressed her gratitude for his continued help. Luo Fusheng jokingly asked if she was falling in love with him or wanted to marry him as thanks, which she dismissed, noting his "knife mouth, tofu heart" nature. He quipped that others don't get to see his kinder side because they don't live long enough.
Yin Tianying then asked Luo Fusheng why he was there. He initially dodged the question but eventually confessed that it was a fake kidnapping orchestrated by Hong Lan to scare her, and things went awry when Yin Tianying escaped. He apologized on Hong Lan's behalf, describing her as righteous and loyal, despite her temper. Yin Tianying, however, was overcome with gratitude, acknowledging Luo Fusheng had now saved her life three times.
She wondered why he was always so good to her, and he jokingly attributed it to being unlucky. Suddenly, the cave began to shake violently, and rocks fell from above, injuring both of them. Outside, Lin Qikai and Hong Lan struggled to move the large rocks that had blocked the road due to a landslide caused by the heavy rain. Exhausted and drenched, Hong Lan collapsed, hitting her forehead.
Lin Qikai urged her to go to the hospital, but she refused, determined to stay and find Luo Fusheng. Lin Qikai, seeing her condition, instructed his driver to take Hong Lan to the hospital, assuring her he would remain to continue the search for Luo Fusheng. Just then, numerous police officers arrived, bringing much-needed assistance to clear the path. Inside the cave, Yin Tianying awoke to the sight of shimmering blue fireflies, believing she had reached heaven.
She expressed her regret at not having been friends with Luo Fusheng in life, asking if they could be friends in the afterlife. Luo Fusheng, moved, agreed they could be friends immediately. He then gently informed her that they were, in fact, still in a cave, and the blue lights were fireflies; her "heavenly" experience was due to the wine she drank. Embarrassed, Yin Tianying checked on Luo Fusheng, ensuring he hadn't been hurt by the falling rocks. He advised her to remain still due to her leg injury, as further movement would exacerbate the bleeding, while he began to clear the cave entrance.
