Jiang Juanxue was the Saintess of the Beishan Sect and closely tied to the origin of the Black Fox. Jiang Juanxue had once trained a woman named Erzhu Yu, who was mysteriously killed a year ago. The identity of the current tower master remains unknown. Dongfang Huaizhu and Dongfang Qinlan settled at the Quiet Courtyard.
The person who brought them there gave Huaizhu a note. On it was written: "Erzhu Yu, the former tower master of Zui Meng Tower, was assassinated. The identity of the current tower master is unknown. "The Demon Kingdom closed its city gates for three days but still failed to locate Wangquan Hongye. The King of the Demon Kingdom flew into a rage. The assassin failed to kill Wangquan Hongye and fled, injured. Qingmu Yuan was troubled. The assassin’s technique felt familiar to her—she kept thinking it was that person. Huaizhu dreamed of the Black Fox and realized that the fox's aura still lingered inside her—it was just temporarily suppressed. Identity tokens in the Demon Kingdom are made from red ochre stone, which is controlled by the King.
Qingmu Yuan had only two pieces, which Wangquan Hongye had used to save the Huaizhu sisters. If they wanted to continue hiding in the Demon Kingdom, Wangquan Hongye and Li Quzhuo had to disguise themselves as someone else’s demons. And it was obvious whose identities they would assume. Wangquan Hongye and Li Quzhuo joined up with the Huaizhu sisters and obtained demon blood from Qingmu Yuan.
Demon cores with demonic thoughts stripped away were harmless to them, but they couldn’t use spiritual power. Li Quzhuo swallowed a dog core, and Wangquan Hongye swallowed a snake core. Wangquan Hongye brought back their favorite roasted chicken, so Li Quzhuo didn’t have to cook anymore. Dongfang Huaizhu told Wangquan Hongye that she still had traces of the Black Fox’s aura inside her. They exchanged the information they had gathered that day.
Everyone agreed that although the Beishan Sect had perished, it was closely tied to the Black Fox’s origin. And the most direct clue to the Black Fox’s origin now lay in Zui Meng Tower.
