Fighting for Love Episode 7 Recap
> Fighting for Love Recap
The Emperor of Southern Xia asked the princes for their views on the Northern Desert invasion. The Crown Prince felt that the emerging generation in the Northern Desert should not be underestimated, and it would be best to strengthen military training and strike the Northern Desert hard.
The Second Prince, however, disagreed, claiming that it was the southern generals responsible for defending the cities who were incompetent in their defense, and the Northern Desert invasion was a joke, likely just wanting money and supplies. The Emperor was arrogant and underestimated the enemy, and this time he believed the Second Prince's strong recommendation. A Mai and Xu Xiuer traveled north. They used two horses to divert the pursuers from the Ministry of Justice.
After that, they wiped away any traces like bloodstains that might attract pursuers. Unconsciously, they actually met Shang Yizhi. Both were overjoyed. Shang Yizhi told A Mai about the predicament he was facing. Now both the Northern Desert and the Dragon Roar Guard were hunting him, and both groups of pursuers were formidable. A Mai analyzed the current situation and decided to use the schemes of both sides to achieve her own goals.
A Mai told Shang Yizhi to follow her, while Mu Bai would lead the Dragon Roar Guard away on his own. Shang Yizhi was bewildered, but he chose to trust A Mai's words. A Mai took Shang Yizhi to a place, held a dagger to his neck, and told the Northern Desert people that now they could easily exchange Shang Yizhi for the entire Qingzhou, on the condition that they take her into the Northern Desert.
Just as the Northern Desert people were suspicious, Mu Bai led the Dragon Roar Guard over. The Dragon Roar Guard wanted to kill Shang Yizhi and adamantly refused to let the Northern Desert people take him. As they were fighting each other, A Mai quickly ran away with Shang Yizhi. Xu Xiuer saw A Mai's brilliant strategy again and admired her even more.
When A Mai told her to follow Mu Bai to hide, Xu Xiuer hugged A Mai tightly around the waist and asked if she was abandoning her. This action greatly surprised Shang Yizhi. Although Xu Xiuer and A Mai had traveled together, she didn't even know that A Mai was a woman. A Mai calmly comforted Xu Xiuer, saying that she would meet up with them soon.
Finally, they shook off the pursuers behind them, and Shang Yizhi and the group met again. They rode non-stop all the way to Qingzhou. Chang Yuqing led a large army of Northern Desert heavy troops to invade Southern Xia. When the Emperor heard that the Northern Desert was pressing directly towards Qingzhou, he was not flustered. Anyway, he had a thorn in his side in Qingzhou, so letting the enemy remove him would lessen a major concern.
Shang Yizhi led a group of people to Qingzhou. The guards at the city gate were about to eat the watermelon brought by a servant when Shang Yizhi suddenly grabbed a piece first. His face naturally fell, and he looked up to see only a few shabby servants, whom he didn't pay attention to at all.
But soon after, Shang Yizhi's escorting procession arrived, and the guards of Qingzhou finally saw clearly that these people were the newly arrived officials of Qingzhou. Before coming to Qingzhou, Eldest Princess Shenghua had told Shang Yizhi that this place was his father's old territory, and there would be many loyal officials and righteous scholars who would fight to protect Shang Yizhi and become his solid fortress.
Shang Yizhi thought he was like a fish returning to the sea and that everything would go smoothly from now on. On the first day of his new post, he called for A Mai early in the morning to go for a walk in the streets together and gain some experience. But when he finally met the several experienced officials of Qingzhou, it made him feel inexplicable. Not only did these old foxes not show him any respect, but they also spoke rudely and completely looked down on Shang Yizhi.
