Fu Zeyi and Jing Zhixia were at the Lost-And-Found, arranging for a doll to be claimed by a little girl, Yanyan, whom they had met earlier. Fu Zeyi subtly instructed an employee not to reveal their involvement. Jing Zhixia, though initially hesitant about lying, went along with it. They then helped Yanyan find her beloved doll, Xiaoyou. Yanyan's excitement was palpable, even if she noticed a missing stain on the doll, which Jing Zhixia attributed to cleaning.
Soon after, Yanyan's father arrived, who, to Fu Zeyi and Jing Zhixia's surprise, was Mr. Sheng, a crucial business contact. Mr. Sheng expressed gratitude for their kindness towards his daughter, which made him reconsider their past business dealings, suggesting they discuss their previous contract again. Yanyan, delighted with her new "adult friends," wanted to spend another day with them, even playfully claiming Fu Zeyi as her "son-in-law," much to Jing Zhixia's bewilderment.
After the reunion, Fu Zeyi drove Yanyan home with Jing Zhixia. On the way, Jing Zhixia teased Fu Zeyi about his unexpected attachment to Yanyan, given his usual disinterest in children. After dropping Yanyan off, Jing Zhixia exited the car, and shortly after, Fu Zeyi received an urgent call from Dr. Mo Ziqi. Dr. Mo informed him that while a new treatment method for his condition had been discovered, it carried a severe risk: he might die.
Deeply concerned, Fu Zeyi immediately drove to Dr. Mo's office for a more thorough explanation. Dr. Mo Ziqi confirmed that Fu Zeyi's physical health was excellent, with no neurological issues, and noted that Lin, his alter ego, hadn't manifested since Jing Zhixia had been by Fu Zeyi's side. This stability led Dr. Mo to suggest the new, risky treatment might be unnecessary, as Fu Zeyi's condition was stable.
Fu Zeyi, however, insisted on understanding the full implications of the therapy, despite his current stability. Dr. Mo revealed the treatment aimed to eliminate Lin with a 50% success rate: success meant freedom from Lin, but failure meant Fu Zeyi's death and Lin's permanent existence. Given the grave risks and current stability, Fu Zeyi expressed reluctance to be a "guinea pig" for such a dangerous procedure.
Dr. Mo then probed Fu Zeyi about his romantic feelings, asking if he was dating Jing Zhixia, the woman who had sought him in Europe. Dr. Mo expressed skepticism, wondering if Fu Zeyi could truly win Jing Zhixia's heart given Lin's profound importance to her. Fu Zeyi, however, was resolute, declaring that he would ultimately prevail over Lin. Jing Zhixia found herself grappling with her feelings for Fu Zeyi, cautioning herself against giving in to him again.
Meanwhile, Fu Zeyi, in a symbolic interaction with a cat named Guaiguai, expressed his frustration with capriciousness and inconsistency, seemingly mirroring his own emotional turmoil regarding Jing Zhixia. He then called Jing Zhixia to his office to assign her leadership of the hotel's future operations, as he planned to return to The Fu Group. He presented her with a detailed marketing proposal and urged her to study it diligently.
Afterwards, Fu Zeyi attempted to ask Jing Zhixia out for dinner, but she firmly rejected him. She admitted to having liked him a year ago but stated that his actions since their reunion had made it clear their relationship had ended long before. She implied they were now "even" and there was nothing more between them.
Deeply affected by her rejection, Fu Zeyi was tormented by Lin's voice, reminding him that Jing Zhixia loved Lin, not him, echoing Dr. Mo's earlier doubts. A distraught Fu Zeyi then rushed out into the heavy rain to seek out Dr. Mo Ziqi again, desperately needing help with Lin's issue. Fu Zeyi, drenched from the rain, found Dr. Mo Ziqi and announced that Lin was constantly present.
Dr. Mo, observing Fu Zeyi's emotional state, suggested his symptoms resembled lovesickness more than a medical condition, playfully hypothesizing that Lin might be an "imaginary love rival." Fu Zeyi vehemently denied that Jing Zhixia admitted to liking Lin, asserting that their connection had ended a year prior. Dr. Mo countered by reminding Fu Zeyi that Jing Zhixia perceives him "as" Lin, and astutely guessed that Fu Zeyi had been rejected.
Fu Zeyi admitted he hadn't even had the chance to confess, as Jing Zhixia refused to listen to any explanation. Dr. Mo then advised Fu Zeyi to make a "proper confession" to cure his "lovesickness," a term Fu Zeyi scoffed at, though Dr. Mo insisted it fit since he was constantly thinking about Jing Zhixia. The next day at work, Fu Zeyi overheard Jing Zhixia on the phone with Jian Bufan.
Jing Zhixia explained that she couldn't meet Jian Bufan after work because her mother, who was recently back, was getting married next month and had asked Jing Zhixia to help Ye Yuxi pick out a wedding gown. Jian Bufan expressed disbelief about Jing Zhixia going with "that Ye guy" for such a significant event and suggested "Dear Wedding Boutique" in Central Square. Upon hearing this, Fu Zeyi was overcome with a sense of crisis and intense jealousy.
His internal monologue, likely Lin's taunts, suggested Jing Zhixia didn't care about him. He immediately cancelled an important meeting with a timber supplier, delegating it to his assistant, Aixin, and rushed out to find Jing Zhixia. Fu Zeyi rushed to Dear Wedding Boutique but was initially denied entry without an appointment. He snuck in, only to be heartbroken to see Jing Zhixia trying on a wedding dress, believing she was preparing for her own wedding.
However, his fears were allayed when Ye Yuxi, Jing Zhixia's mother's fiancé, clarified that Jing Zhixia was trying on the gown "for her mother". Despite this relief, Fu Zeyi, after a brief, awkward interaction with another customer who mistakenly thought he and Jing Zhixia were a couple, plucked up the courage to confess his feelings. He passionately declared his love for Jing Zhixia.
However, Jing Zhixia, tired of his perceived inconsistency, rejected him, stating she wouldn't trust someone so "capricious" and wouldn't "fall for him ever again." Desperate not to lose her, Fu Zeyi impulsively lied, claiming he had suffered memory loss after a car accident a year ago, which caused his erratic behavior. He offered hospital records as proof, leaving Jing Zhixia momentarily stunned by the possibility. He then tightly embraced and kissed Jing Zhixia, overwhelming her.
As Jing Zhixia processed this, Fu Zeyi felt Lin, his alter ego, beginning to emerge. He fought to suppress Lin, but fearing Jing Zhixia would discover his condition, he hastily fled the boutique as she went to get him water, leaving her confused and worried about his sudden distress. Jing Zhixia desperately searched for Fu Zeyi throughout the wedding boutique and eventually found him in a piano room, playing a tune.
Relieved, she embraced him, believing that his old self had returned. However, their tender moment was interrupted by a police officer who had been trying on clothes nearby. The officer, recognizing Fu Zeyi, pulled Jing Zhixia aside. He revealed that he had witnessed Fu Zeyi involved in a car accident, where he appeared to intentionally lie in the road after hitting a car, leading the officer to suspect suicidal tendencies. This revelation deeply concerned Jing Zhixia.
When she returned to question Fu Zeyi, the personality that greeted her was no longer Fu Zeyi but Lin. Lin, now in control, internally accused Fu Zeyi of having previously driven recklessly with the intent of self-destruction after driving Jing Zhixia away from the hotel.
Feigning Fu Zeyi's persona, Lin then calmly explained to Jing Zhixia that the accident was not a suicide attempt but rather a consequence of his frantic search for her, compounded by his poor driving skills and haste. He assured her he had many reasons to live, which finally put Jing Zhixia's fears at ease. Believing his explanation, she told him she would go change and wait for him to leave together.
After Jing Zhixia left to change, an angry internal confrontation erupted between Fu Zeyi and Lin. Fu Zeyi was furious at Lin's emergence, but Lin, in control of the body, calmly challenged Fu Zeyi, accusing him of losing his composure over Jing Zhixia and attempting to eliminate him through Dr. Mo's treatment. Lin proposed they revert to the original agreement they had made a year ago, suggesting a negotiation.
Fu Zeyi scoffed at the idea, pointing out that Lin wouldn't have given up Jing Zhixia back then, nor would he now. Lin, asserting his return, expressed a desire to see what Fu Zeyi had accomplished while in control. Fu Zeyi vehemently responded that Jing Zhixia was now his girlfriend, and it was time for Lin to relinquish control.
