Fu Zeyi instructed Ai Xin to discard a limited edition bag she had bought, stating it was useless now. He then informed her that Fu Shengrong, his Second Uncle, had begun acquiring shares in Aizhe Hotel. Fu Zeyi ordered Ai Xin to gather all Aizhe shareholders for a meeting that afternoon, emphasizing the need for immediate action. Meanwhile, Jing Zhixia learned of Fu Zeyi's intentions to dismantle the hotel.
She discussed with her uncle, who is also Jian Bufan's father, how to thwart the plan, reminding him that Aizhe Hotel was a labor of love for both her father and herself. At the shareholders' meeting, Fu Zeyi declared himself the new person in charge of Aizhe Hotel. He presented a plan to demolish the hotel, citing its stagnant performance over the past two years.
He argued that replacing it with a new business district would generate year-round profits, benefiting all shareholders. He instructed everyone to prepare for the hotel's closing and staff severance, announcing that the demolition of the forest behind the hotel would begin the following day. Jing Zhixia immediately objected, claiming her right as a major shareholder.
She asserted that with her 20% stake and her uncle's 15%, they collectively held more shares than Fu Zeyi's 33%, giving them the power to oppose. However, Fu Zeyi revealed that her uncle had secretly sold 3% of his shares to him, leaving Jing Zhixia and her uncle with a combined 32%, which was less than Fu Zeyi's now 36%. With no further objections, Fu Zeyi declared the plan would proceed, and the meeting was dismissed.
Jing Zhixia, infuriated, vowed she would not allow him to tear down Aizhe Hotel. Three days later, Jing Zhixia devised a scheme to stop Fu Zeyi. She sent an anonymous letter, luring him to the underground wine cellar with a fabricated story about valuable paintings. Once Fu Zeyi was inside, Jian Bufan locked the cellar door from the outside, trapping him with Jing Zhixia.
She then attempted to force him to sign an agreement not to demolish the hotel, threatening that they would both freeze if he refused. Fu Zeyi signed the document but promptly informed her that any agreement signed under duress was legally invalid and revealed he had recorded their entire conversation. Enraged, Jing Zhixia tried to take the recording pen from him. Just then, Ai Xin arrived, looking for Fu Zeyi.
Jian Bufan, trying to avoid detection, pushed Ai Xin away and claimed Fu Zeyi was not in the cellar, saying he was just playing games outside. Inside, Fu Zeyi attempted to force his way out but cut his hand on a broken vase. Jing Zhixia desperately called for Jian Bufan to open the door, but he had already left, leaving them trapped. Jing Zhixia bandaged Fu Zeyi's hand.
Adopting a different approach, she showed him paintings on the wine barrels, depicting the long-serving employees of Aizhe Hotel: Mr. Ren, the first head chef; Mr. Li, the housekeeping manager; the lobby manager; Ms. Li from the cleaning department; Jian Bufan; her uncle; and herself. She explained that these individuals were like family to her and to the hotel, emphasizing Aizhe Hotel's emotional value as a legacy meant for careful management, not destruction.
She drew a portrait of Fu Zeyi, playfully labeling him "Employee No. 53," and told him he could be part of their family if he committed to managing the hotel well. She pleaded with him not to demolish the hotel. To her surprise, Fu Zeyi agreed to consider it. Shortly after, Jian Bufan and Ai Xin returned, opening the cellar door.
Ai Xin asked Fu Zeyi if the incident had altered his plans, but he instructed her to proceed as scheduled. He then asked her about the project plan for the new complex and inquired if adding a hotel would impact the existing design, a subtle hint that Jing Zhixia's words might have resonated with him. After Ai Xin left, Fu Shengrong called her, reminding her of his past financial support and subtly demanding her loyalty, which deeply unsettled her.
Ai Xin later called her doctor, requesting sleeping pills as her melatonin was no longer effective. Jing Zhixia's uncle called her, informing her that Fu Zeyi was proceeding with the demolition of the back hill that day. She rushed to the hotel, but upon arrival, her uncle and Jian Bufan greeted her excitedly. They explained that a group of wild plant conservation experts had discovered several rare and protected plants on the back hill, adding them to the conservation list.
This designation meant the entire area around the back hill was protected, effectively halting the demolition plan and saving the hotel. They attributed the discovery to a "good Samaritan" who had provided the plant data to the experts. Jing Zhixia was overjoyed, believing Fu Zeyi's plan had failed. When Fu Zeyi arrived, she taunted him, suggesting his cunning methods had finally backfired. Fu Zeyi remained unfazed.
Fu Shengrong called Fu Zeyi, offering his assistance with the "trouble" regarding the Aizhe Hotel rebuilding. Fu Zeyi, however, declined, assuring his uncle that he had a backup plan. After the call, Fu Shengrong complained to an associate that "Lin" had ruined his entire acquisition plan, believing it was a deliberate act.
Fu Zeyi then called Ai Xin, instructing her that he would be staying at Aizhe Hotel to handle the new solution, avoiding the need to return to the Fu Group and deal with "those old men." Unbeknownst to Fu Zeyi, Ai Xin was with Fu Shengrong when she took the call.
A text message shown to her revealed Professor Li thanking a "Mr. Lin" for the information that saved the trees, leading Ai Xin to question the true nature of events. Jing Zhixia confronted Fu Zeyi again, but he stated he had already stopped the rebuilding plan and saw no need for her continued hostility. He advised her to focus on improving the hotel's poor performance.
Jing Zhixia, however, declared she would continue to watch him closely, suspecting he was plotting new tricks. Later, celebrity idol Ye Yuxi arrived at Aizhe Hotel, drawing a crowd of fans and paparazzi. Jian Bufan stressed the importance of providing excellent service, recalling how poor celebrity hospitality had negatively impacted other businesses. Jing Zhixia's uncle informed her that Ye Yuxi specifically requested her personal service. Despite her reluctance, Jing Zhixia agreed for the hotel's reputation.
Ye Yuxi proved difficult, rejecting multiple rooms due to concerns about privacy and potential invasion by paparazzi and sasaeng fans. Frustrated but determined, Jing Zhixia promised him the presidential suite. Ye Yuxi's assistant expressed dismay at his demanding behavior, but Ye Yuxi revealed his motive: he was intentionally creating problems for Jing Zhixia to prevent his brother from marrying her mother. Jing Zhixia anticipated Fu Zeyi would object to vacating the presidential suite and criticize her for mishandling a guest.
To her surprise, Fu Zeyi readily agreed to move to an executive suite, stating he could relocate at any time. This unexpected compliance made Jing Zhixia wonder if Fu Zeyi had genuinely found a new solution and abandoned his plans for Aizhe Hotel. Upon showing Ye Yuxi the presidential suite, he declared it "filthy" and demanded that Jing Zhixia clean it herself, citing celebrities' need for privacy. Putting the hotel's "customer is king" motto first, Jing Zhixia agreed.
Fu Zeyi then entered the room, claiming he had forgotten a document. He was visibly annoyed to find Jing Zhixia cleaning, questioning why the general manager was performing a janitor's duty. Ye Yuxi quickly interjected that he had not forced her, and she was cleaning voluntarily. Still resentful towards Fu Zeyi, Jing Zhixia retorted that she was doing it for the hotel and "the major shareholder, Mr. Fu's" sake, seeing no problem with her actions. She reminded him that he too had ordered her around in the past, and since she had no objections, he should simply leave.
