Zhang Yinyin and Qingyi were having tea in Hui Garden, a place reserved for the King of Haofang's honored guests, when they were suddenly accosted by Master Huihai and his demon-catching companions. The monks immediately accused Zhang Yinyin and Qingyi of being monsters and bound them with demon-restraining ropes. Ji Ruochen rushed to their aid, desperately trying to cut the seemingly unbreakable chains.

Just as his efforts proved futile, Zhang Yinyin's mother, Jingxiao Zhenren, arrived and skillfully severed the ropes, freeing them. Zhang Yinyin, overjoyed, embraced her mother. However, Jingxiao Zhenren immediately slapped Zhang Yinyin, scolding her for her recklessness in leaving Xixuan Mountains without permission. She confronted Ji Ruochen, reminding him that Senior Ziyang had instructed him to marry Fairy Gu upon his triumphant return, and accusing him of not having immediately refused.

Jingxiao Zhenren expressed her deep concern for her only daughter, fearing Zhang Yinyin would suffer heartbreak if she continued to be involved with Ji Ruochen's "mortal destiny" when he was destined for a "divine destiny." She implored Ji Ruochen to let go of Zhang Yinyin if he could not sever his divine ties. Ji Ruochen promised Jingxiao Zhenren that he would never betray Zhang Yinyin and would protect her.

Jingxiao Zhenren then warned him that if he were to ever harm Zhang Yinyin, she would disregard their master-disciple bond. Following this confrontation, Zhang Yinyin deliberately kept her distance from Ji Ruochen. Ji Ruochen, noticing her continued unhappiness, decided to reveal a secret he had hidden, acknowledging her anger and believing it was time to simplify things given the threat of a major demon.

Ji Ruochen confessed that he was not a banished god but a fake, having concealed his true identity to enter Xixuan Sect and reunite with Zhang Yinyin, fearing ridicule for both of them if the truth came out. To his surprise, Zhang Yinyin was thrilled by this revelation, caring nothing for the "banished god" status.

She mused that if he were fake, then Fairy Gu's "fated destiny" must be a mistake, and she eagerly wished to inform Fairy Gu immediately to deter her from pestering Ji Ruochen further. Yet, for the sake of the greater good, Zhang Yinyin decided to wait for a more opportune moment. That night, Zhang Yinyin fell asleep beside Ji Ruochen, their reconciliation marked by a renewed warmth and two rosy blush spots on her cheeks.

Days later, Zhang Yinyin and Ji Ruochen inadvertently stumbled into the lair of the Hoang Snake. They fought valiantly, joined by Jingxiao Zhenren, but the demon's power was overwhelming. Ji Ruochen managed to seize a treasure from the Hoang Snake's head, only for the Imperial Advisor to quickly snatch it away. In the ensuing chaos, to protect Zhang Yinyin, Ji Ruochen was swallowed whole by the monstrous Hoang Snake.

Zhang Yinyin cried out, desperate to rush to Ji Ruochen's rescue, but her mother held her back, emphasizing that in such a critical situation, they could only save one person at a time. Trapped within the Hoang Snake's blood-red insides, Ji Ruochen felt his true essence rapidly dissipating. He recalled the "Dreadstar Fate-Infusion Technique," a forbidden art he had previously avoided due to its nefarious nature and the risk of shortening one's lifespan or even dissolving one's soul.

With no other option, Ji Ruochen activated the perilous technique, and, empowered by its dark energies, burst forth from the Hoang Snake's abdomen. Upon seeing Ji Ruochen emerge unharmed, Zhang Yinyin joyfully embraced him. His power significantly amplified by the forbidden technique, Ji Ruochen brutally defeated the Hoang Snake, staining the Hao River crimson with its blood.

As soon as the great demon was vanquished, numerous sect disciples, including Master Huihai and Sun Guo, appeared, demanding the Shenzhou Energy Map from Ji Ruochen. Jingxiao Zhenren was enraged, vehemently condemning the sects for their opportunism. She pointed out that none of them had offered aid when Ji Ruochen was in peril, yet now they brazenly appeared to claim the spoils, abandoning all righteousness.

She reiterated that the treasure had been stolen by the Imperial Advisor, but they refused to believe her. Sun Guo brazenly accused Ji Ruochen of being a fake banished god and a hypocrite, further stating that Xixuan Sect had also gone astray by fabricating a banished god. Jingxiao Zhenren rebutted these accusations, stating that Ji Ruochen possessed the bluestone token and that his identity had been verified by Xixuan Sect elders, not allowing them to distort the facts.

She then ordered Ji Ruochen to flee with Zhang Yinyin to find the treasure, while she and others held off the avaricious sects. Ji Ruochen and Zhang Yinyin fled, following the directions of an Eight-Trigram Map. Zhang Yinyin's mother had signaled for reinforcements, but urged them to prioritize the treasure.

During their escape, Zhang Yinyin's companion raised doubts about Ji Ruochen's true identity, now that it was also being publicly questioned by their accusers, and even suggested exposing him if he admitted to it. However, Zhang Yinyin firmly affirmed her unwavering trust in Ji Ruochen. The Eight-Trigram Map, though indicating the treasure's general direction, provided no specific trace. Just as they pondered their next move, a mysterious inn seemingly materialized out of nowhere, prompting them to investigate.
