Ji Ruochen, determined to save Zhang Yinyin, resolved to enter the Demon Tower, as only its blue flames could remove the immortal power from her body. Meanwhile, a group of young Xixuan disciples, frustrated by their Hierarch's defensive stance, secretly convened.

A Senior Sister among them proposed they defy orders, go down the mountain, and launch a sneak attack, a plan met with enthusiastic agreement from the other disciples, who planned to meet at the mountain gate that night to utterly defeat their enemies. Elsewhere, Qingyi urged Yinfeng to reconsider his support for Sun Guo, fearing he would regret it.

Yinfeng, believing he was helping Sun Guo eliminate the "scoundrel who destroyed the spiritual caves" for the sake of the world, questioned why he would regret his actions. Qingyi then led him to witness Sun Guo and his allies. There, Sun Guo and other Hierarchs openly discussed destroying Xixuan and seizing its immense treasures, even contemplating sparing only female disciples while ensuring no male disciples remained.

A man identified as Mr. Wangchen declared his sole intention was to dismember his senior brother. Qingyi pointed out to Yinfeng that these individuals were driven by "their own purposes and evil intentions," and their claims of acting for the world were merely "excuses." Sun Guo later noted Qingyi and Yinfeng's departure but reassured Hierarch Xuxuan that he had a "perfect plan" and that his cultivated immortal arts were sufficient to overcome Xixuan's Wuya Formation and its formidable elders.

Ji Ruochen entered the Demon Tower alone, where he was greeted by a voice that revealed itself to be his father, the Nine Hells Demon King who once ruled the Nine Hells. His father explained that only they possessed the unique Blue Fire of the Nine Hells.

He then recounted how, ten million years ago, High Immortal Taiyi had exploited the Immortal Emperor's seclusion to invade the Nine Hells, arbitrarily reactivating spiritual caves that caused spiritual energy to surge in the mortal world and plunged the Nine Hells into chaos.

Taiyi's ultimate goal was to rule the Three Realms, and he built the Demon Tower on the ruins of the Nine Hells King's Ruin, intending it to merge with the Spiritual Realm Tower above the Immortal Realm, allowing him to monopolize all spiritual energy. Ji Ruochen realized his Master had painstakingly sent him to destroy this very tower.

His father revealed that Ji Ruochen was born with the Blue Fire of the Nine Hells, the only power capable of suppressing the spiritual energy of the holy realm. When Taiyi pursued his severely injured father, he entrusted infant Ji Ruochen to the "Double Saints" (Old Zhang and Huaniang) to hide in the mortal world. They had calculated that ten million years later, Taiyi would be entangled in a calamity, identifying it as the opportune moment for the tower's destruction.

To prepare, his father activated a "hidden star" in Ji Ruochen's fate, causing him to sleep for ten million years until the Double Saints awakened him twenty years prior and raised him as an ordinary human. Before his death, his father sealed his own spirit in the throne, awaiting Ji Ruochen's return.

As the tower began to sense the Blue Fire and near destruction, his father urged Ji Ruochen to fully cultivate the Blue Fire of the Nine Hells, warning that failure would trap him forever within the tower or cause him to turn to ashes if consumed by hatred.

His father's fading spirit gave Ji Ruochen a final push, affirming him as the "true person destined to face the calamity" and the only one whose Blue Fire could defeat High Immortal Taiyi. Inside the Demon Tower, in what was a mirror image of the true underground palace, Zhang Yinyin called out for Ruochen.

A voice, revealed to be the tower itself, taunted her, explaining that Ji Ruochen was in the true underground palace, while she was in its mirror image, rendering her cries inaudible. Yinyin was subsequently ensnared, as the tower's voice expressed a desire for her to experience the profound pain of separation, rather than a swift death, as revenge for its own suffering.

Ji Ruochen, deep in cultivation, battled his inner demon, being guided to let the Blue Fire of the Nine Hells devour him and then make it his own, all while resisting hatred. Seeing a wooden bird he had given Yinyin, Ji Ruochen's resolve solidified, and he gained control of the Blue Fire of the Nine Hells. His father's spirit reappeared, reminding him of his mission to save the Three Realms and destroy the tower.

The tower then directly addressed Ji Ruochen, offering him a choice. It claimed that with his newly mastered Blue Fire, he could break the Nine Hells seal and return to the mortal world. However, destroying the tower would result in a "lose-lose situation," trapping him within its confines.

The tower questioned the worth of sacrificing himself for what it called "righteousness," implying that Ziyang had merely used him as a pawn and had not informed him his mission would be a one-way trip. The tower, admitting its fear of destruction, nevertheless insisted it was speaking for Ji Ruochen's own good, reminding him he was now the "strongest existence in the cultivation world" and should not be manipulated.

It then revealed Zhang Yinyin was also inside, implying her death if the tower were destroyed. It urged Ji Ruochen, now the "Demon King," to leave with Yinyin and enjoy the "supreme power" of his absolute strength. Contemplating his identity as a pawn, Ji Ruochen declared it was "time to end all of this" and defiantly stated he would no longer listen to anyone. He then carried the unconscious Zhang Yinyin out of the Demon Tower.

After Ji Ruochen's departure, Sun Guo led the 36 sects in besieging Xixuan, aided by 100,000 demon generals from the Netherworld Mountain Demon Emperor. Senior Shi Ji bravely resisted Sun Guo's forces but was gravely wounded by his magical artifacts. Meanwhile, at Yun Zhong Ju, the master was informed of Xixuan's dire situation, with Senior Shi Ji frantically trying to rescue Qiushui. The master initially distanced Yun Zhong Ju from Xixuan's fate.

However, observing a monstrous fish that had absorbed immense spiritual energy, he noted the anomaly: despite spiritual caves being destroyed, spiritual energy was increasing. Suspecting Ziyang was hiding something crucial, the Yun Zhong Ju master decided to go to Xixuan, not to relieve the siege, but to demand a clear explanation, instructing his disciple to gather enough people for a safe retreat if necessary. In the Endless Sea, Qingyi worried about her friends in Xixuan.

She attempted to bribe the Netherworld Mountain Demon Emperor with coral, having previously used a smaller piece to find Ji Ruochen and Yinyin. Her master reprimanded her for using sect resources for bribery, but Qingyi argued that helping Xixuan was better than standing idly by, especially since she believed Ji Ruochen and Yinyin were already dead. Ling interjected, asserting the principle of "if lips are gone, teeth are cold," meaning if Xixuan fell, the Endless Sea would also be vulnerable.

Convinced, the Endless Sea master commanded Qingyi and Ling to prevent any of the Demon Emperor's forces from entering Xixuan Mountain. Later, Ji Ruochen informed a waking Zhang Yinyin that he had used the blue flame to remove her immortal power, and her wounds were healing, though recovery would take several days.

Yinyin, surprised by his altered appearance, learned that he had met his father, the Nine Hells Demon King, and had inherited his bloodline, thus becoming the "born Demon King." Yinyin playfully embraced his new identity, reminding him he was still hers, even as a demon. Ji Ruochen suggested they live there, where they were, forever, and when Yinyin asked about the Demon Tower, puzzled it wasn't destroyed, Ji Ruochen simply replied, "Why should I destroy it?"
