Ji Ruochen was constantly looking after Zhang Yinyin on their journey. Although Zhang Yinyin was his senior, she found it strange that he consistently addressed her by her given name, Yinyin, rather than with the respectful "senior sister." She noticed his constant flattery and endless tenderness in his eyes, which she found puzzling. To avoid further awkwardness, she suggested they part ways.

Seeing that Zhang Yinyin was determined to leave, Ji Ruochen pretended to feel dizzy and have a headache, prompting her compassionate nature to assist him. Zhang Yinyin, being kind-hearted, could not abandon him, so the two continued their journey together toward Xixuan Mountains. Meanwhile, Ling, a knight, went to invite the Nine-Tailed Heavenly Fox to the Endless Sea.

Qing Yi was surprised and delighted to see that her Uncle, the Master of Endless Sea, had even sent his own boat to welcome Heavenly Fox. Heavenly Fox gazed into the distance, remarking that she had once years ago pleaded with that man to accompany him out to sea, only to be refused. She wondered what awaited her if she returned now.

Ultimately, Heavenly Fox declined to go to the Endless Sea, instead sending a message through Ling that the Lord of Endless Sea should seek her in Peace Hall in Xixuan Mountains when he truly understands. Ling then reported back to his Master that Heavenly Fox had left the Endless Sea, and the Master acknowledged that it was not yet the right time to meet. Upon arriving at Xixuan Mountains, Zhang Yinyin recognized every Xixuan disciple, except for Ji Ruochen.

Others found Zhang Yinyin's behavior baffling, thinking she was merely putting on an act. Ji Ruochen, however, was filled with sorrow, telling his fellow disciples that Zhang Yinyin was not pretending; she truly had forgotten him. Their senior brothers were dismayed to hear of the many hardships Zhang Yinyin and Ji Ruochen had endured during their recent monster-hunting expedition, especially the tragic death of Senior Yunfeng. They vowed to avenge their fallen brother.

Zhang Yinyin was heartbroken to see her father, who was temporarily unable to walk due to poisoning. Her mother comforted her, expressing relief that his life was not in danger and that sitting in a wheelchair was a fortunate outcome. Reflecting on her recent experiences, Zhang Yinyin told her mother about a peculiar Xixuan disciple she met during her trip down the mountain, who seemed to have been greatly helped by their family, as he was exceptionally attentive to her.

Zhang Yinyin's mother was startled to hear her daughter mention Ji Ruochen's name. After carefully checking on her daughter and finding no serious injuries, she inquired about where Yinyin had been. Upon hearing that her daughter had ventured into the Monster Forbidden Zone, Zhang Yinyin's mother felt a chill down her spine, suspecting her daughter had made a significant sacrifice for Ji Ruochen. Heartbroken, she urged Yinyin to rest.

Ji Ruochen sought out his master, Master Ziyang, hoping he could help Zhang Yinyin regain her memories. After hearing Zhang Yinyin's story, Master Ziyang surmised that she must have exchanged her memories to obtain Nuwa's tear, which was a pre-arranged transaction, thus rendering the memory loss incurable. Ji Ruochen was devastated. Master Ziyang then directed him to Peace Hall, noting that Heavenly Fox, who had escaped from the Hall after her demon chains were severed, had now returned.

In Peace Hall, Ji Ruochen confronted Heavenly Fox, confirming his Master's words. He drew his sword, accusing Heavenly Fox of meeting Zhang Yinyin and revealing the method to restore his cultivation, which should have led her to foresee the dire consequences. Heavenly Fox glared at Ji Ruochen, retorting that if he had not desperately sought to restore his cultivation, Zhang Yinyin would not have suffered such a heavy burden. She emphasized that it was his own fault.

Ji Ruochen, reeling from the accusation, stumbled away in despair. Heavenly Fox's words that day weighed heavily on Ji Ruochen's heart. He had once believed in shouldering the responsibility of maintaining peace in the Three Realms, but now he felt insignificant and realized it was better to protect those close to him. He cherished every day in Xixuan, feeling immense joy whenever he saw Zhang Yinyin.

Although Zhang Yinyin didn't fully recognize him, she gradually began to recall small details about him, even remembering a nickname he had once used, "Ji Xiaoer." This breakthrough filled Ji Ruochen with hope and he actively tried to help her regain her full memory of him. However, each time Zhang Yinyin's emotions stirred for Ji Ruochen, or she made an effort to remember him, she would suffer a splitting headache, and this time, it was particularly severe.

Ji Ruochen watched in horror as Zhang Yinyin writhed in pain, even hitting her head against a wall. He was distraught, unable to approach or help. Fortunately, Heavenly Fox arrived, using her true energy to stabilize Zhang Yinyin. She then reminded Ji Ruochen that no one could take back what the Lover-Eating Venerable exchanged, and since Ji Ruochen had already used Nuwa's tear, Zhang Yinyin was destined never to fall in love with him again.

Heavenly Fox emphasized that Ji Ruochen's pursuit of her memories was causing her immense suffering, urging him to cease his efforts if he truly loved her. Ji Ruochen then went to visit Hierarch Ziwei, who acknowledged Ji Ruochen's recovery. The Hierarch admitted that the Blue Fire within Ji Ruochen might offer a solution to Zhang Yinyin's predicament.

This unique flame, neither good nor evil, could save the people if used righteously, but could also transform him into a true demon if he succumbed to its negative influence. The Hierarch explained that the Blue Fire originated from Nine Hells, a forbidden place in the Three Realms where a tower, the Asura Tower, had been born from this very flame.

He further suggested that if Ji Ruochen could master this flame, he might undergo a spiritual transformation that could potentially lead Zhang Yinyin to remember him again. The Hierarch revealed that the tower was rapidly taking shape, and if it were to escape Nine Hells and enter the mortal realm, it would plunge the Three Realms into chaos and widespread suffering. He further disclosed that bringing Ji Ruochen to Xixuan Mountains was precisely to stop the Asura Tower from emerging, indicating that only Ji Ruochen possessed the power to destroy it.
