He insists that they immediately shut down the website or disconnect its internet. Following this, he and Chi Yu go live online. Lin Haoshu enthusiastically introduces Chi Yu and urges viewers to share the broadcast, visit cinemas, and support "One Hundred Million Miles" and Wen Suxi.
However, the livestream quickly draws negative comments, with some viewers accusing Lin Haoshu of revealing spoilers and even suggesting that the piracy is beneficial. More troublingly, people begin to speculate if Chi Yu is residing at Wen Suxi's home and if the film leak is connected to a recent scandal.
Wen Suxi calls Lin Haoshu, expressing her frustration that his efforts have not solved the problem but instead created more trouble by exposing Chi Yu's location, which is now surrounded by reporters. Duo La confirms that Chi Yu cannot safely leave due to the paparazzi. During dinner, Wen Suxi appears dejected, drinking red wine. Duo La encourages her to eat and maintain her health to fight back against the crisis.
Chi Yu attempts to console her by highlighting positive online reviews and the public's interest in re-watching the film, but Wen Suxi dismisses his remarks, convinced that re-watching alone will not recoup the losses. Chi Yu then offers a philosophical perspective, stating that while one strives to achieve goals, sometimes fate intervenes, and one must learn to accept certain outcomes. Wen Suxi agrees and steps out onto the balcony for fresh air, with Chi Yu following her.
Duo La scolds Lin Haoshu and Chi Yu for their lack of emotional intelligence. Duo La then voices her suspicion that the film was stolen by an insider, likely Qian Ning, whom Wen Suxi had always trusted. She explains that no senior management is willing to tackle this "mess," meaning Wen Suxi will probably have to bear all the financial losses herself. On the balcony, Wen Suxi acknowledges Chi Yu's wisdom, admitting that some things are beyond their control.
She reflects on how insignificant earthly problems seem from the moon and believes that looking forward will reveal hope. Chi Yu sighs, feeling fortunate for his past rapid success and realizing that the current difficulties signal life returning to a more "normal" state. He shares a cosmic analogy: human history is merely a brief flicker in the vastness of universal time, advocating for a proactive mindset over despair.
Later, as the paparazzi outside disperse, Tang Mao arrives to pick up Wen Suxi. He states his purpose is to see her and questions Chi Yu's presence. Lin Haoshu explains that Chi Yu was visiting him but became stranded due to the reporters. Tang Mao then suggests Wen Suxi accompany him to a hotel, both to avoid future harassment from the press and to facilitate business meetings.
Wen Suxi agrees, asking Lin Haoshu to send her a message once she arrives. Tang Mao assures her that he has already made all necessary arrangements. As they leave, Tang Mao presents Wen Suxi with a gift, stating his desire for her happiness. After Wen Suxi departs, Lin Haoshu grows restless, worrying about her. He remembers that Wen Suxi is a light sleeper and particular about her pillow.
Using this as a pretext, he decides to deliver her pillow to the hotel and asks Chi Yu to drive, as he has been drinking. Chi Yu struggles to operate Wen Suxi's car, mentioning it differs from what Fang taught him. An impatient Lin Haoshu urges him to hurry and later questions his fast driving. In the hotel room, Tang Mao discusses the film leak with Wen Suxi.
She tells him she has contacted partner companies and artist teams to resolve the financial issues and is determined to find Qian Ning, believing him to be innocent. Tang Mao advises her to remain calm but also points out that taking "full responsibility" cannot alone compensate for the substantial company losses and the film's negative impact.
He warns her that this is not the time for defiance, as many vested interests are involved, and the company will not simply absorb the losses because of her. He suggests she temporarily resign if a resolution cannot be found. Tang Mao then shifts the conversation to a more personal tone, asking if she has considered her future.
He expresses concern for her demanding schedule, working tirelessly year-round, and offers to be her unwavering "shield" if she is willing to abandon her current career. He explicitly confesses, "I want to be with you," expressing a profound desire to start a new life with her, to marry her, and build a family. He declares his readiness to relinquish everything he possesses, wanting only her by his side and wishing to protect her.
As Tang Mao leans in to kiss Wen Suxi, she doesn't resist, but a knock at the door interrupts them. It is Lin Haoshu, who has arrived with her pillow. Lin Haoshu greets Tang Mao, feigning surprise that they are still "discussing work" so late. Wen Suxi thanks Lin Haoshu, who explains he brought the pillow because she is particular about them and Chi Yu insisted.
He asks if he interrupted anything, to which Wen Suxi replies no, they were merely discussing work. Lin Haoshu then suggests he also stay in Wen Suxi's room, even offering to sleep on the floor. Wen Suxi declines, instead arranging a separate room for him. When Lin Haoshu asks if Chi Yu will also stay, Lin Haoshu quickly interjects, ordering Chi Yu to drive Wen Suxi's car back home, stating he will take a taxi back the next day.
While Wen Suxi and Lin Haoshu are away arranging the room, Tang Mao confronts Chi Yu. Tang Mao intensely stares at Chi Yu, then asks him directly who he is, emphasizing that his identity concerns Wen Suxi. He accuses Chi Yu of inexplicably disrupting Wen Suxi's life since his sudden appearance, citing incidents from photos to the charity event.
Tang Mao implies Chi Yu is merely seeking fame and warns him of karmic retribution if he continues to "pester" Wen Suxi. Upon Lin Haoshu and Wen Suxi's return, Lin Haoshu asks what Tang Mao and Chi Yu were discussing, but Tang Mao dismisses it as "nothing" and tells Chi Yu to have an early night. Lin Haoshu reiterates the command for Chi Yu to leave.
As Chi Yu drives Wen Suxi's car back, he discovers the previously lost star key. Cai Shumeng, having recently spoken to Mr. Qian, initially suspected him of being behind the resource leak. However, Mr. Qian clarifies that Wen Suxi's stubborn personality has likely made other enemies, and someone has deliberately set her up. He adds that the company will not come to her aid, and even Tang Mao will be powerless to help her this time.
Cai Shumeng then instructs her assistant, Xiao Di, to conduct a thorough investigation. They find that all surveillance footage from the company building was missing due to a security system upgrade during the time of the incident. Coincidentally, the cameras resumed functioning exactly at 11:23 PM, just three minutes after the film's copy was uploaded online and Xiao Di left the company at 11:20 PM.
These numerous coincidences lead Cai Shumeng to believe that someone is intentionally trying to ruin Wen Suxi. Later, at a bar, Cai Shumeng encounters Tang Mao, who directly questions her about the stolen file. Cai Shumeng denies any involvement, claiming that despite her "ordinary" relationship with Wen Suxi, she couldn't have stolen the copy, but also implying she could not prevent others from harming Wen Suxi.
Tang Mao sternly warns her not to let him discover any connection she has to the incident. The next day, Tang Mao goes to the hotel to find Wen Suxi, only to be informed by the staff that she has already checked out. Meanwhile, Lin Haoshu goes to the school gate to meet Wang Xiaomi, fulfilling his promise to treat her to a meal. Wang Xiaomi is overjoyed, hugging him.
Lin Haoshu playfully scolds her for her public display of affection, worrying about her teacher seeing them. She jokes that she would claim he is her brother to teachers or her boyfriend to classmates. She notices his dark circles and asks if he is worried about Wen Suxi again. Lin Haoshu admits he never realized how challenging it was to be a strong woman and feels helpless, saddened by Wen Suxi's troubles. They then head off to eat.
Meanwhile, after dropping Lin Haoshu at the hotel, Chi Yu takes Wen Suxi's car to the curator's place with the star key he found. The curator is initially unavailable, and his subordinate turns Chi Yu away, asking him to return another day. Chi Yu decides to wait for the curator. However, a long time passes, and the curator still doesn't appear.
Chi Yu realizes he might be being played and attempts to force his way in, at which point the curator appears. Using the star key, the curator re-searches Ji Wan's fate and finally discovers Ji Wan's true reincarnation. Separately, Wen Suxi meets with You You to discuss how to resolve the crisis. You You informs her about the company-wide ridicule and the impending first payment for contract breach, mentioning that the company offers no support.
Wen Suxi asserts she has her own financial plans, refusing to rely on others. Unexpectedly, Duo La appears and, learning about the film's premiere, offers to "appear for them" as a show of support, a gesture for which You You is very grateful. Later, Wen Suxi and You You discuss pledging her assets, including all her money and stocks, which is still insufficient to cover the losses.
Wen Suxi decides to mortgage her house, rationalizing that it is merely a possession she can buy back later. While buying water at a convenience store, Wen Suxi spots the missing Qian Ning. She immediately gives chase, instructing You You to get the car and also calling Lin Haoshu to alert him. As she pursues Qian Ning into the street, a car accident occurs. Time abruptly freezes, and Chi Yu appears.
Having just learned from the curator that Wen Suxi is indeed Ji Wan's reincarnation, Chi Yu uses the power of the Pen of Constellation to reverse time, saving Wen Suxi from the accident at the critical moment. During this moment, fragments of Chi Yu's memories of Ji Wan surface, where she promises to go with him upon his return.
