Wen Suxi drove to the company, as one of her upcoming movie's shooting locations was a film studio owned by the company. As she opened her car trunk to get her shoes, she noticed the pair Tang Mao had given her, which caused a momentary emotional stir. Upon arrival, Wen Suxi asked the front desk to contact Mr. Qiu, who was in charge of the film studio.
She was informed that Mr. Qiu was in a meeting and would be available later, but Wen Suxi insisted she was free all day and would wait. While waiting, she saw Tang Mao pass by. She called out to him, wanting to talk, but Tang Mao, accompanied by Cai Shumeng, used Cai Shumeng's presence as an excuse, saying he was busy and they could talk another day. Wen Suxi simply thanked him.
Immediately after, the front desk informed Wen Suxi that Mr. Qiu was ready to see her. Determined, Wen Suxi followed Tang Mao downstairs. She called out to him, asking to speak with him alone. When Cai Shumeng insisted she could speak in front of her, Wen Suxi conceded. She thanked Tang Mao for consistently looking out for her, acknowledging that his support had helped her avoid many detours in her career. She respected and appreciated him professionally.
She then admitted that she had been quite dependent on him but confessed she couldn't differentiate if that feeling was love or not. This realization made her feel guilty, and she apologized for not turning him down sooner. Tang Mao, visibly affected, then apologized to Cai Shumeng, stating they would have to postpone their dinner, though Cai Shumeng insisted she also had a meeting and they could reschedule. Tang Mao then left by himself.
Later, Tang Mao called Jiang Yu to inquire about Wen Suxi's movie, asking how its preparations were going, having heard it was about to start shooting. Jiang Yu responded that he understood. Meanwhile, Hua Yecheng and Chi Yu had spent the night staking out a location, but the Curator had not appeared. Hua Yecheng explained that the Curator would not neglect his duties on Earth despite his unknown whereabouts, and he could deduce his location by studying his work patterns.
He revealed that since the Sun and Moon Jade was missing, the Earth's energy field was in chaos, causing energy to easily entangle. The Curator's duty was to sever these energy entanglements, so they needed to find the person responsible for this on Earth, essentially the Curator's subordinate. They then apprehended a man, attempting to force him to reveal the next energy entanglement point by threatening him with a foul-smelling concoction.
The man pleaded ignorance, claiming worse consequences if he revealed the truth, and desperately asked for cake to accompany the awful food. Suddenly, Chi Yu received a notification that he needed to go for a makeup photo shoot and told Hua Yecheng he had to leave. Hua Yecheng, though initially annoyed, sent him off, reminding him of his promise to return to the Big Dipper.
After Chi Yu left, Hua Yecheng continued to question the captive, who was still being pressured for information. After her company matters, Wen Suxi arrived at the photoshoot. Chi Yu and Duola were very photogenic, and the session was progressing smoothly, with the photographer instructing them to show more intimacy. You You praised Chi Yu and Duola, remarking on what a perfect couple they made. Wen Suxi, standing at a distance, watched Hu Dongkai's antics and smiled triumphantly.
Suddenly, Hu Dongkai burst in, clearly jealous of Chi Yu and Duola's closeness. He demanded to be part of the main poster photoshoot, arguing that he was a popular actor and would be a better selling point. You You explained that the main poster was meant to highlight the love between the male and female protagonists and did not include his character, also reminding him that he wasn't scheduled for this shoot.
Hu Dongkai, undeterred, insisted on being added to the poster, even suggesting Photoshop, declaring that he and Duola were a couple. Duola, disdainful of his antics, asked if he wanted to take her place, causing Chi Yu to interject that Hu Dongkai just wanted to be Photoshopped in next to Duola. Hu Dongkai quickly tried to backtrack, claiming he was only joking and would never make such an unprofessional request, citing his busy schedule.
Duola then announced she was going to check the photos, implicitly ending the session with him. As the photoshoot wound down, Hu Dongkai tried to invite Duola for dinner to discuss the script, but she curtly refused, stating she was busy. Wen Suxi offered Chi Yu a drink, but Duola mentioned he didn't drink pop.
Hu Dongkai then suggested he and Duola go home together or have dinner, but Chi Yu quickly interjected that Hu Dongkai had just said he was too busy earlier. Chi Yu then told Wen Suxi they would go home and cook. When Wen Suxi asked if he could cook, he confidently replied that his cooking was delicious. Hu Dongkai, trying to one-up him, boasted that he too could cook, listing "egg fried rice and instant noodles."
Later, as Wen Suxi, Chi Yu, and Duola were waiting for an elevator, Hu Dongkai insisted Duola join them in the already seemingly full elevator, though Duola tried to make excuses to wait for the next one. Hu Dongkai ignored her, pulling her in. Hua Yecheng discovered that the next energy entanglement was linked to a person named Dong Bai, who was Wang Xiaomi's blind date.
During a family dinner, Dong Bai's mother introduced Wang Xiaomi to Dong Bai, encouraging them to toast each other, while also excusing Dong Bai's quiet demeanor by explaining that he had become silent after his grandfather's passing and suggesting Wang Xiaomi spend time with him. That evening, Tang Mao went to a bar to find Cai Shumeng and apologize for abruptly canceling their dinner that afternoon.
Cai Shumeng, however, was unfazed and said she understood him, because both of them loved someone who disliked them. Tang Mao revealed that Wen Suxi was very ambitious, and he had initially believed that if she faced career setbacks, she would turn her attention to their relationship, but he realized he was wrong. Cai Shumeng responded that perhaps the setbacks weren't severe enough, noting that Wen Suxi's movie was scheduled to start shooting tomorrow, and everyone was paying close attention.
Tang Mao dismissed it, stating it was none of his business. Unable to sleep due to work stress, Wen Suxi called You You to confirm all departments were notified, the weather forecast was good, and the director was aware. You You reassured her that everything was set for a smooth start to filming the next day, urging her to get some rest.
Wen Suxi then messaged Chi Yu, reminding him to get up early for the shoot and not to let her down. Chi Yu's initial brief reply, "Don't worry," annoyed Wen Suxi, who complained about his low emotional intelligence. However, he followed up with a question, "What about you? Are you staying up late?" Wen Suxi replied that she was going to bed soon and reminded him to apply sunscreen, as she didn't want her actors to get sunburned.
Hua Yecheng, witnessing Chi Yu's late-night texting, teased him, asking if he had fallen in love with Wen Suxi, suggesting he just go see her if he missed her. Chi Yu, irritated, told Hua Yecheng to stop the nonsense. Immediately after, Hua Yecheng called Chi Yu, informing him that an informant had revealed two jets of energy had been entangling for a long time, and he had located their source. He promised to send the time and place details soon.
Chi Yu then sent one last sweet message to Wen Suxi, wishing her good night and promising to try his best and work hard tomorrow. The next day, as the movie was set to begin shooting, all actors and crew were in place, but the director, Shi Xiaotao, was nowhere to be found. You You frantically called him, but couldn't get through, realizing he had backed out.
Hu Dongkai arrived with drinks, congratulating Wen Suxi on the first day of shooting, but the crisis was already brewing. Wen Suxi was at a loss, but at that very moment, Cai Shumeng arrived with a group of reporters, clearly intending to humiliate her. Wen Suxi confronted Cai Shumeng, telling her she hadn't invited her. Cai Shumeng feigned goodwill, claiming to be there to cheer her on and arrange media coverage.
The reporters, prompted by Cai Shumeng, asked Wen Suxi about the director of the movie. Realizing the situation, Wen Suxi calmly declared that she would be the director herself. The reporters were surprised, and Wen Suxi eloquently explained that as the one who discovered the comic and co-created the script with the author, she was the most suitable person to direct a "2. 5-dimensional" film that bridged the comic world with reality.
The reporters expressed excitement, and Wen Suxi instructed You You to show them around. After the reporters left, Wen Suxi directly confronted Cai Shumeng, asking why she had sabotaged her, implicitly pointing to the new director Shi Xiaotao's disappearance. Cai Shumeng feigned ignorance, asking why she would do such a thing when Wen Suxi was no longer a threat.
Wen Suxi retorted by mockingly asking if she should be scared of Cai Shumeng's "terrible crew" and "amateur director" producing anything good. Cai Shumeng then accused Wen Suxi of overestimating herself, stating that if Wen Suxi focused on her own films instead of Cai Shumeng, she wouldn't have made "so many bad films." Wen Suxi defended her films, pointing out that audiences liked them and that it was better than preparing for two years only to lose money.
Cai Shumeng, stating they were not "on the same path," maliciously added that she enjoyed seeing "small ants being trampled to death," before sarcastically wishing "Director Wen" good luck. Wen Suxi, maintaining her composure, simply thanked her. Shortly after, Jiang Yu called Tang Mao to inform him that Wen Suxi's director had been replaced and was nowhere to be found, and that Wen Suxi had announced to the media she would take on the role of director herself.
Tang Mao simply acknowledged the information. After the media left, Wen Suxi admitted to Lin Haoshu that she felt timid and lacked confidence as she had no directing experience. Lin Haoshu encouraged her by recalling a middle school Sports Day when she bravely volunteered for a relay race despite her nervousness. He told her to focus only on the finish line, just like then.
Wen Suxi, however, reminded him that they hadn't even made it to the finals and she had fallen. Lin Haoshu persisted, reminding her that she had secured the funding, assembled the crew, and guided the script's development. He asserted that for the famous Producer Wen, directing was simply a matter of calling "Action!" and "Cut!" He then playfully demonstrated, prompting Wen Suxi to join in, boosting her confidence.
Empowered by Lin Haoshu's encouragement, Wen Suxi decided to take charge of the project she had poured so much effort into. Chi Yu approached Cai Shumeng, warning her about karmic retribution for her actions. Cai Shumeng, unfazed, challenged him, asking if he thought she was behind the director's disappearance.
She then advised him that signing a contract with a new actor like him was too risky for Wen Suxi, and suggested he leave Wen Suxi if he was serious about his acting career. Chi Yu thanked her for her "concern" but reiterated his warning about bad karma if she continued down this path. Meanwhile, seeing Wen Suxi distressed and with an an injured hand, Duola initiated a conversation.
Wen Suxi thanked Duola for joining the team, expressing how important her presence was. Duola, however, clarified that she didn't join for Wen Suxi's sake and not to thank her. Wen Suxi, surprised, asked if Duola had joined the team because of Chi Yu. Duola confirmed it with a smile, then provocatively asked Wen Suxi if she thought Chi Yu would fall in love with her.
