Yijin accepted an invitation to record a program at the radio station where Wuyan worked. A crowd of fangirls welcomed him downstairs. Wuyan was asked by her boss to serve water to Teacher Yijin. Seeing Su Nianqin surrounded by colleagues asking for his autograph made Wuyan jealous. She deliberately flirted with a male colleague in front of him, and Su Nianqin got jealous too. After the radio recording, the young couple chatted outside the building.
They started off arguing about his background and the recording, but the quarrel quickly turned into playful bickering. From a distance, Nie Xi and Xiaolu watched. Nie Xi realized Su Nianqin had agreed to come to the station just to see Wuyan, and Xiaolu remarked that it seemed like Su Nianqin had hit puberty. Both were genuinely happy for him.
Xu Qian was asked by her boss to give a speech on behalf of her group at an upcoming proposal meeting—a great opportunity to shine. She accepted and expressed her thanks. During lunch, she overheard coworkers discussing the limited number of full-time slots for interns and that management might be favoring her. Wei Hao’s band, with Xiaolu’s help, was in talks with a major company that wanted to sign them and invited them for an interview.
As the lead singer, Xu Qian said the interview clashed with her company’s proposal meeting, so she couldn’t attend. She explained that hobbies and careers are two different things—dreams can’t feed you. Su Nianqin had the previously broken watch repaired and gave it to Wuyan. Wuyan saw a missed call from her mother. Su Nianqin told her that her mom only asked about her graduation and didn’t mention being unhappy with him.
Wuyan’s last class at the special education school ended. After a field trip with the kids the next day, she would officially leave. Su Nianqin picked her up from work, and the two strolled home together in the pleasant spring weather. Wei Hao’s band interview began, but Xu Qian didn’t show up. Despite his bandmates’ persuasion, Wei Hao insisted on waiting for her and ended up missing the opportunity. His friends were deeply disappointed by his stubbornness.
On the field trip, Wuyan sat on a bench with Su Nianqin and Xiaowei, enjoying the scenery and the sunshine. But she felt a little melancholic knowing that only she could see the beauty. After the trip, she realized the MP3 she’d made for Su Nianqin was missing. She searched everywhere on the way back but couldn’t find it. With guidance from a security guard, she decisively searched the trash and finally found it.
Seeing Wuyan foolishly digging through trash just to retrieve a recording for him deeply moved Su Nianqin. He used his own clothes to wipe her hands. Back home, after listening to the recording, Wuyan used it as a chance to confess again. Su Nianqin said nothing and gently kissed her eyes. When Wuyan learned that Xu Qian had missed the interview, she wasn’t surprised but considered asking Xiaolu to help reschedule.
Meanwhile, Wei Hao thought that since they’d lost their lead singer, they should just disband. His friends urged him to find a new vocalist, but he wouldn’t budge. Xu Qian’s mother was preparing to pursue another relationship without any attachments. Before leaving, she cooked a meal she thought Xu Qian liked—but in fact, she didn’t.
When Xu Qian expressed her dislike, she stared at her mother, who had no sense of responsibility, and asked why someone like her would give birth to a child or become a mother at all.
