Tong Shuang, who was later identified as Bei Kun, unexpectedly turned himself in, sending shockwaves through the capital. Xiao Beiming, Feng Qingzhuo, and others rushed to the prison. Feng Qingzhuo stood by, overwhelmed with grief and disbelief that his former friend could have committed such heinous acts. At that moment, Xiao Beiming stepped forward, his resolve firm, and pulled back Tong Shuang's clothing.

Upon seeing the distinctive birthmark on his shoulder, Xiao Beiming's long-held suspicion was confirmed: this man was indeed his long-lost older brother, Bei Kun, also known as Bei Hai's son. Overwhelmed by a mix of joy and anguish, Xiao Beiming dismissed everyone, intending to privately confront Bei Kun for the truth. Bei Kun, maintaining a cold demeanor, calmly stated that everything he had done was for revenge.

He claimed his surrender was due to feeling a touch of sympathy after seeing Xiao Beiming tirelessly searching for him. Xiao Beiming, enraged by his brother's attitude, demanded to know why he had chosen such a path. Bei Kun then recounted his tragic past. Upon returning to the Pingyuan Escort Agency, he was cruelly mistreated by the Madame, her harsh words piercing his heart. His beloved dog, Lantern, which he had named and cherished, was then brutally killed and eaten.

In despair, Bei Kun recounted meeting Miao Jie on a rainy night. Miao Jie persuaded him that as orphans from Haiya, they bore a mission of revenge. Under Miao Jie's guidance, he embarked on his path of vengeance. He burned down the Pingyuan Escort Agency, faking Tong Peng's death in the fire, and then assumed the identity of Young Master Tong Shuang to continue living. From then on, he rigorously trained in killing techniques.

His fondness for dogs transformed into a deep aversion, finding even their barks irritating. Bei Kun, still consumed by hatred, looked at Xiao Beiming with resentment, expressing his extreme imbalance at how Xiao Beiming, despite being labeled Yesha, still garnered belief and support from so many. He questioned why he suffered so much while the people of Qi lived happily, vowing to make them experience similar pain and plunge the entire nation into fear.

Just then, an imperial decree arrived, ordering Yesha's immediate execution without further interrogation. As he was led away, Bei Kun chillingly declared that even if he died, the events yet to unfold would continue unimpeded, hinting at a greater impending disaster. Zhong Xueman, sensing an ominous turn of events, meticulously guarded Bei Kun in the Heavenly Prison, alongside elite imperial guards. Meanwhile, Xiao Beiming felt a persistent unease, as if an unseen force was watching them.

Zhuge Kongyun's sudden realization regarding Bei Kun's imprisonment location struck Xiao Beiming. Inside the Heavenly Prison, Bei Kun appeared surprisingly relaxed, as if anticipating a grand celebration rather than death. Outside, Zhong Xueman noticed an unusual heat in the air and a growing sense of dread. She opened the cell door and was stunned to see a phantom fiery phoenix in the sky, emitting an eerie glow, before she fainted.

When Zhuge Kongyun and Xiao Beiming arrived, they found Wu Lie mysteriously dead amidst a chaotic scene. Afterwards, Zhong Xueman recounted vividly seeing the phoenix, convinced it was no mere illusion. Xiao Beiming examined Wu Lie's body, confirming he died from severe bird-like claw marks, and also discovered the same mysterious symbol and peculiar ants found at Wu Zhui's death site. The next day, as Bei Kun's execution drew near, officials and commoners gathered expectantly.

Xiao Beiming, however, remained uneasy, sensing impending chaos. Zhuge Tong and Fangzheng oversaw the execution. Bei Kun, brimming with arrogance, proclaimed that a heavenly calamity would soon befall Qi as punishment. Suddenly, colorful clouds appeared in the sky, and the executioner's blade snapped. In front of the bewildered crowd, Bei Kun was enveloped by a mysterious cloud and vanished without a trace.

After the astonishing escape, Xiao Beiming finally understood Bei Kun's true motive for surrendering: he intended to use them to publicly prove himself a divine being, thereby manipulating people's minds for his nefarious goals. Xiao Beiming explained that Bei Kun wanted to destroy the very spirit of Qi. He elaborated that someone with divine powers, impervious to weapons, capable of commanding divine beasts, awakening deities, and controlling life and death at will could only be perceived as a god.

Bei Kun had used them to elevate himself into a god before the public eye. Now, no one would care if Yesha was a murderer; they would only believe his actions were divine will and his words divine oracles. Rumors would spread, followers would multiply, and he would effortlessly manipulate minds. Combined with his possession of the Swift Wind Pill, this could unleash true heavenly wrath upon the world.

They realized the Vermilion Bird, White Tiger, and Azure Dragon—three of the Four Symbols—had already appeared. They urgently needed to stop him before the Black Tortoise manifested, as they didn't know what he would do with it. Time was short, and to unravel the mystery of the Four Symbols, they had to start with the peculiar insects found at the crime scenes. Xiao Beiming believed he knew someone who could help.
