Ah Li, having just been disgraced and thrown out of Lin Heping's home by his mother, spotted Qiao Man. She accused Qiao Man of enjoying her downfall, but Qiao Man retorted that Ah Li was only reaping what she had sown. Ah Li vehemently blamed Qiao Man for her current predicament, claiming all her actions were for Lin Heping.

Qiao Man reminded Ah Li that she was already married to Han Sen, but Ah Li argued that Qiao Man only pretended to give up Lin Heping and hadn't truly left him. Ah Li confessed her fear that she could never erase Qiao Man from Lin Heping's memory and demanded Qiao Man disappear from their lives. Qiao Man, tired of the argument, dismissed Ah Li, promising not to appear before her again.

Ah Li then insisted Qiao Man follow her to a swimming pool. At the pool, Ah Li accused Qiao Man of hypocrisy, claiming to know her true nature. Qiao Man fired back, calling Ah Li a vicious woman who had embezzled company assets and framed He Jianfeng, asserting that Lin Heping would never truly love someone who would do anything to be with him.

As Qiao Man tried to leave, Ah Li blocked her, forcing her towards the edge of the pool. Ah Li recounted a story about a girl who incessantly bothered Lin Heping and eventually drowned in the sea. She declared that she would go to any lengths to be with Lin Heping, asserting that neither Nan Sheng nor Qiao Man could stop her.

With that, Ah Li shoved Qiao Man into the water and walked away, ignoring her struggles and cries for help. As Qiao Man struggled in the water, she slowly lost consciousness. She found herself in an ethereal space, overwhelmed by vivid memories of her past with Lin Heping, Aunt Lan, her father, and her university life. Then, the ethereal figure of Nan Sheng appeared, telling Qiao Man, "You're me. And I'm you."

Qiao Man, confused, denied being Nan Sheng, insisting she was Qiao Man and had nothing to do with her. Nan Sheng pressed her to remember the moment she fell into the water, questioning why she would recall Nan Sheng's past if she wasn't Nan Sheng. Qiao Man, still seeking answers, wondered why everyone called her Qiao Man if she was Nan Sheng and how she transformed from one to the other.

She cried out for Nan Sheng to stop tormenting her. Qiao Man eventually regained consciousness on the side of the pool, feeling the full weight of her returned memories. She realized she was Nan Sheng, who had lost her memory, and desperately sought to understand how this had happened and who was responsible. Elsewhere, Luo Chen and Xiao Xi were out shopping. Luo Chen was uncharacteristically nervous and stuttering.

He then knelt before Xiao Xi and proposed, explaining that after seeing Qiao Man, he realized he had moved on from his past memories of Nan Sheng. He told Xiao Xi that she had tolerated his bad temper for years and there would never be another woman as kind as her. He wanted to hold her hand and marry her. Though Xiao Xi found it sudden and asked for time to think, Luo Chen urged her to believe in him.

Xiao Xi eventually accepted his proposal. Meanwhile, Ah Li, still reeling from being expelled from Lin Heping's house, cried to Yang Lan, complaining about the unfairness of her situation. Yang Lan comforted her, assuring her that not everyone could appreciate her kindness and implying Lin Heping's mother was simply unlucky. Ah Li questioned if the numerous obstacles between her and Lin Heping meant they were "not fated."

Yang Lan urged her not to give up hope and reminded her that this was a critical time for the company, requiring them to prioritize business over personal affairs. Yang Lan also informed Ah Li that she had successfully contacted Zhu Fan and arranged a meeting for her. Later, as Qiao Man walked home, she appeared disoriented and deeply distressed. Lin Heping, approaching from the opposite direction, noticed her troubled state and attempted to offer comfort.

However, Qiao Man was consumed by memories of Lin Heping abandoning her in the past. She abruptly pushed him away, locked her door, and secluded herself, grappling with conflicting feelings of love and hatred for him. Han Sen met with Peter as agreed, presenting him with 200,000 yuan. To Han Sen's surprise, Peter became greedy, demanding a million yuan and threatening to expose information to Qiao Man. Enraged, Han Sen kicked over furniture, causing Peter to become fearful.

Peter, realizing he had pushed too far, quickly grabbed the original 200,000 yuan and fled. Ah Li met with the recently reappeared Zhu Fan. Zhu Fan explained that he was stranded and needed at least 500,000 yuan for basic necessities. Ah Li, without hesitation, handed him a bank card, instructing him to take the money and disappear, assuring him that her secret would remain safe if he left.

Qiao Man called Qiao Fang, urgently asking if she was truly the real Qiao Man and her biological sister. Qiao Fang, sensing Qiao Man's distress, initially feigned concern and attempted to deflect the direct question. Qiao Man pressed her for an honest answer, accusing her of lying. Qiao Fang insisted that Qiao Man was her real sister and the true Qiao Man. However, Qiao Man, recognizing the deception, called her a liar and hung up the phone.

Qiao Fang, shaken by the call, remembered a past encounter in a hospital in Barcelona. She was there to arrange her late sister Qiao Man's funeral when she ran into Han Sen. Han Sen explained that he had rescued a girl washed ashore who had lost all her memories, including her name. Qiao Fang, still grieving her sister, saw the girl and was struck by an idea.

She offered to take the amnesiac girl into her home and care for her. Han Sen, though initially hesitant about the girl losing her identity, agreed after seeing how happy the girl was living with Qiao Fang. Qiao Fang decided to give the girl her deceased sister's name, Qiao Man, believing it provided the girl with a much-needed identity and home, and also helped her cope with her own loss.

Han Sen eventually accepted this arrangement, hoping the girl would regain her memories one day. Zhuo Yang visited Yang Lan at the company, complimenting her appearance and her work. He suggested she quit her job to work with him, claiming her talents were being wasted. After some persuasion, he confessed there was another reason for his visit and proposed marriage to her. Zhuo Yang explained that traveling the world made him realize Yang Lan was the only one for him.

He found a new appreciation for her strong will and her influence over him, realizing that a simple life with her was what he truly desired. He outlined plans for a wedding in his hometown and a honeymoon. Yang Lan was surprised but hesitated, citing her loyalty to Ah Li, especially during the company's current crisis.

Zhuo Yang countered that Ah Li had always been self-sufficient and Yang Lan needed to think about her own life and happiness, not just follow Ah Li indefinitely. After much deliberation, Yang Lan submitted her letter of resignation to Ah Li. Ah Li was shocked and tried to dissuade her, citing the company's difficult situation and questioning if Yang Lan was dissatisfied. Yang Lan explained that she was getting married to Zhuo Yang in his hometown.

Internally, however, Yang Lan confessed she was actually planning to surrender to the authorities to atone for her past misdeeds, believing this was the only way she could genuinely face Zhuo Yang. She clarified to Ah Li that her perspective had become clearer since meeting Zhuo Yang and that she could no longer blindly follow orders that might harm Ah Li. Yang Lan wished Ah Li well with Lin Heping and expressed her desire to change her life.

Despite Ah Li's desperate attempts to retain her, Yang Lan's resolve was firm, and she left. Lin Heping stood outside Qiao Man's door for a long time, clearly concerned. Xiao Zhi noticed his affection for Qiao Man and asked if he could truly make her happier than Han Sen. She then revealed a secret: Qiao Man and Han Sen were not officially married, as Qiao Man had not attended their wedding ceremony.

Lin Heping, realizing Qiao Man had been hiding this from him, felt a renewed sense of hope. Xiao Zhi, however, cautioned him to keep this information strictly confidential and not to reveal that she was the source. Qiao Man later sought out Ah Li at the swimming pool once more. She confronted Ah Li, asking if Nan Sheng was the girl Ah Li had mentioned earlier, the one who loved Lin Heping and died.

Ah Li, initially evasive, then defiantly stated that anyone who hindered her and Lin Heping would perish, showing disregard for the law. Qiao Man warned Ah Li that if she was connected to Nan Sheng's death, she would face severe consequences. Ah Li boldly challenged Qiao Man to call the police, confident they wouldn't believe her.

Qiao Man then posed a chilling question: "If the person standing in front of you is Nan Sheng, will you have the courage to say that again?" After this, Lin Heping approached Qiao Man and directly asked if she was indeed unmarried to Han Sen. Qiao Man asserted that her marital status was irrelevant to him. Lin Heping insisted she liked him and questioned why she was suppressing her true feelings.

He reached out to grab her hand, but Qiao Man pulled away. She declared that she refused to be "the second Nan Sheng," accusing him of abandoning Nan Sheng in the past and now attempting to atone for his sins by loving her. She concluded that he was not worthy of her love. Lin Heping, in turn, expressed that if Nan Sheng were still alive, he would certainly beg for her forgiveness.

Qiao Man, however, firmly stated that Nan Sheng was long dead and that she, Qiao Man, merely resembled her, urging him to cease bothering her as there was no possibility for them to be together. Lin Heping remained saddened, reiterating his constant hope that Nan Sheng was still alive, a thought he would never abandon.
