Zhuo Yang anxiously met Xiao Zhi and recounted that their client, Lin Heping, had his goods stolen by Peter, an associate of Han Sen. Xiao Zhi, however, downplayed the incident, expressing doubt that Han Sen's men would commit such a serious crime and advising Zhuo Yang to avoid provoking Han Sen. Shifting the topic, Xiao Zhi excitedly shared her plans to buy a house and asked Zhuo Yang to accompany her to view properties, revealing she had been saving diligently.

Meanwhile, Qiao Man tracked Han Sen to a warehouse where she discovered the stolen artworks. She confronted him, demanding their return to Lin Heping. Han Sen, annoyed by Qiao Man's interference and her concern for Lin Heping, questioned her right to dictate his actions. He offered to comply with her wishes only if she agreed to marry him; otherwise, he insisted she stay out of his affairs.

Qiao Man reminded him that his actions were illegal and threatened to report him to the authorities. Han Sen defiantly challenged her to do so, expressing his disbelief that she would choose Lin Heping over him. Qiao Man reiterated that the goods must be returned, but Han Sen remained steadfast in his refusal, especially regarding Lin Heping. Frustrated, Qiao Man left the warehouse, calling him a "jerk." As Qiao Man departed, Han Sen reflected on his past with her.

A flashback showed a doctor explaining that Qiao Man, whom Han Sen had found unconscious on a beach, had suffered a head injury resulting in amnesia, with uncertain chances of recovery. When Qiao Man awoke in the hospital, she had no memory of her identity or surroundings. Han Sen gently explained her memory loss, but she grew distressed, yearning for a home she could not recall. The doctor then suggested that returning home might be beneficial for her recovery.

Elsewhere, Lin Heping informed Ah Li about a lead on the thieves at the art market, though they had eluded capture. Ah Li stressed the critical importance of the upcoming exhibition to their company's reputation. She instructed Yang Lan to promptly arrange for alternative artworks to be sent to Barcelona for display while the search for the stolen pieces continued.

Ah Li then sternly reprimanded Yang Lan for her overall unsatisfactory performance, particularly her failure to locate the artist of "The Beacon" and her arrangement of Zhuo Yang as Lin Heping's unreliable local guide, whose negligence at customs nearly led to his dismissal. Later, Xiao Zhi found a dejected Qiao Man and, attempting to lift her spirits, shared her excitement about her house purchase, mentioning she secured a good price with the help of Tony.

However, Qiao Man remained downcast, eventually revealing that Han Sen was involved in the theft of Lin Heping's art. Xiao Zhi admitted that Zhuo Yang had previously mentioned Peter's resemblance to one of the thieves but that she had kept it quiet due to her fear of Han Sen. Qiao Man expressed her agonizing dilemma, torn between ensuring Lin Heping's exhibition success and protecting Han Sen, who had saved her life, from legal consequences.

Xiao Zhi then proposed an audacious plan: a covert operation to steal the artworks back from Han Sen's warehouse, using his own tactics against him. Qiao Man enthusiastically agreed, ready to rent a car for the task, while Xiao Zhi worried about confronting Han Sen's men. Qiao Man insisted they could not involve Lin Heping, believing that limiting knowledge of their plan would be safer for Han Sen.

As Qiao Man and Xiao Zhi attempted to leave in a car, Han Sen abruptly appeared, blocking their path. He admonished Qiao Man for getting into "another man's car," but she clarified it was Lin Heping’s vehicle, borrowed for errands. Han Sen grew jealous, accusing Qiao Man of prioritizing Lin Heping while showing no concern for his own recent financial hardships, including the collapse of his winery. He brought up his role as her savior, emotionally manipulating her.

Overwhelmed, Qiao Man desperately threatened to end her own life to repay her perceived debt, prompting Han Sen to back down and depart. Qiao Man and Xiao Zhi proceeded to Han Sen's underground warehouse. Qiao Man instructed Xiao Zhi to call Zhuo Yang, believing his presence would make them seem more imposing. Xiao Zhi, hesitant due to Zhuo Yang’s timid nature, called him and informed him of their location and plan to reclaim Lin Heping's art.

Zhuo Yang reacted with alarm, declaring their plan insane and refusing to go alone. He decided instead to alert Lin Heping. Zhuo Yang called Lin Heping, confessing his earlier deceit about the thieves, admitting they were notorious Barcelona gangsters, and revealing Han Sen's romantic pursuit of Qiao Man. Furious, Lin Heping demanded the warehouse location, concerned for the safety of Qiao Man and Xiao Zhi.

At the warehouse, while Qiao Man and Xiao Zhi were attempting to recover the art, Han Sen made a dramatic entrance in a suit, holding flowers, and knelt to propose marriage. Peter, on Han Sen’s behalf, offered to return all the stolen artworks to Lin Heping if Qiao Man accepted. Qiao Man refused, asserting she could not marry a thief. Enraged and heartbroken by her rejection, Han Sen threatened to destroy all the artworks, sabotaging Lin Heping's exhibition.

Under duress and to save the precious art, Qiao Man reluctantly agreed to marry him. Han Sen then triumphantly announced his engagement to his men. Just as Han Sen embraced Qiao Man in celebration, Lin Heping burst into the warehouse. Han Sen immediately declared Qiao Man his fiancée, but Lin Heping recognized she was being coerced. He confronted Han Sen about the theft, refusing to let the matter go. Han Sen, provoked, ordered his men to attack Lin Heping.

Qiao Man desperately tried to intervene to stop the violence. Seizing the chaotic moment, Xiao Zhi discreetly called the police. As Han Sen's men attacked with sticks, Lin Heping bravely shielded Qiao Man, taking a blow that knocked him unconscious. Police sirens blared in the distance, prompting Han Sen and his men to flee the scene. Lin Heping was hospitalized with a mild concussion.

Mo Hui updated Ah Li, who expressed her concern and informed him that Yang Lan was already en route to Barcelona with additional exhibition pieces. Qiao Man stayed by Lin Heping’s bedside until he regained consciousness. Lin Heping's first thoughts were of the exhibition. Qiao Man thanked him for selflessly taking the blow meant for her. She then asked Lin Heping to promise not to press charges against Han Sen, clarifying that Peter was primarily responsible for the theft.

Qiao Man explained that while Han Sen was not her boyfriend, he was a profoundly important, family-like figure whom she felt compelled to protect. Understanding her deep conflict, Lin Heping agreed to her request. Later, Han Sen called Qiao Man, expressing his anger over Lin Heping's injury but also mentioning his own detention at the police station. Qiao Man responded coolly, stating he deserved it and forbidding him from visiting Lin Heping.

Meanwhile, Peter confronted Han Sen, accusing him of betrayal, specifically for revealing their hideout to Qiao Man, which ultimately led to Lin Heping discovering the stolen goods. Peter angrily vowed revenge. After Lin Heping was discharged, Qiao Man took him to the seaside for fresh air, commenting on the beautiful exhibition location. She confidently assured him of the exhibition's success. As they walked, Qiao Man’s shoe broke. Lin Heping thoughtfully removed his shoelace to help secure it. Watching Qiao Man tie the makeshift repair, Lin Heping was suddenly reminded of Nan Sheng.
