Qin Huai was roused from sleep by an unusual sound. When he focused his gaze, he excitedly exclaimed, "We succeeded!" Zhou You, awakened by Qin Huai's shouts, rushed to the computer screen. Seeing the data displayed, he too became ecstatic, completely losing any lingering drowsiness. Together, they had successfully developed a new prize redemption system.

They promptly shared the good news with the general manager, who was immensely grateful, stating that the new system saved their company tens of millions of yuan. Qin Huai also provided him with all the collected evidence via email, urging him to report the crime to the police immediately. The police acted swiftly and soon raided the factory. Qin Huai and Zhou You were present during the police operation at the factory.

Although the police arrested the underlings, the boss had only taken over the operation less than a year ago, leaving no useful clues to trace the higher-ups. Qin Huai noted that the beverage factory's prize redemption system had a problem related to a bug in HuCloud. He decided to send this information anonymously to Director Hu Dezheng, the new head of Hupo's technical department, as he harbored animosity towards Ma Pingchuan. Meanwhile, Ma Pingchuan returned home from a business trip.

His daughter, Qingqing, expressed worries about getting into Mingde School, and his wife also inquired about her admission. Ma Pingchuan assured them he was working on connections. Later, at work, Ma Pingchuan received a call from an associate, Mr. Mo, informing him that their base had been raided, resulting in significant losses and arrests. However, Ma Pingchuan confirmed that he had successfully wiped clean all records and data, ensuring that the money trail could not be traced back to them.

Back at the office, Zhou You received a phone call from Ding Ding, who questioned why they hadn't kept their dinner appointment. Zhou You explained they had been extremely busy, but he quickly realized Ding Ding's true intention was to speak with Tang Lin. Zhou You reluctantly handed the phone over to her.

On the phone, Ding Ding profusely apologized to Tang Lin, admitting he had "lost his mind" by seeking comfort from strangers online and watching R-rated content, and most regrettably, by concealing it from her. Tang Lin, however, told Ding Ding that some things, once done, could not be undone, and she couldn't pretend it never happened. She expressed hope that he would genuinely learn from his mistakes and correct them, which she would consider a positive outcome.

However, as for their relationship, she no longer had romantic feelings for him and couldn't offer any promises of reconciliation, but they could still be friends. Ma Pingchuan later met with a senior from his college, who was now the principal of Mingde School. He proposed that since Mingde was planning to launch a programming course, instead of simply upgrading their existing system, they should invest in a new system and a dedicated server room for the course.

Ma Pingchuan revealed he had already drafted a comprehensive plan and sent it to the principal's email. The principal initially suggested the school would prefer a fair competition process, as he alone couldn't make such a decision and needed to consult the board. Ma Pingchuan then offered to cover all costs for the server room as a personal donation, which seemed to sway the principal. He also presented a valuable watch as a belated wedding gift.

Before they parted, the principal asked for Ma Pingchuan's daughter's name, Ma Qingqing, which he noted he would keep in mind. Returning home, Ma Pingchuan, smelling of alcohol, informed his wife that Qingqing's admission to Mingde was almost certain, thanks to his prior acquaintance with the principal and his offer to develop a programming teaching system for the school for free. Chen Mo happily informed Mu Tong that there was now a way to repair the damaged USB drive.

He explained that an expert on GeekHub, a software source code hosting service, had published a patch that provided the solution. Mu Tong expressed her delight at the news, acknowledging Chen Mo's persistent efforts. During a company meeting at Hupo, Hu Dezheng presented on the HuCloud security service, highlighting a serious, long-standing bug that had led to millions in losses for their client, the Fizzy Frenzy Beverage Factory.

He proposed forming a new team to address this issue and revitalize HuCloud. Ma Pingchuan challenged this, questioning if such sweeping changes were too hasty and if they would ensure shareholder interests. He argued that the current team possessed the skills to fix the bug without the need for a new, costly team.

Chairman Xu intervened, stating that both Ma Pingchuan and Hu Dezheng would serve as co-CTOs of the technical department, but he explicitly assigned the HuCloud project to Hu Dezheng. After the meeting, Ma Pingchuan's subordinates complained that Chairman Xu was clearly empowering Hu Dezheng to usurp Ma Pingchuan's authority. Ma Pingchuan, understanding the implication, acknowledged that he had to comply as he depended on the company for his livelihood.

Later, Ma Pingchuan met with Mr. Mo, revealing that Hu Dezheng had discovered the backdoor he left in HuCloud. He explained that Hu Dezheng, eager for credit, hadn't yet realized Ma Pingchuan's involvement. Ma Pingchuan intended to seize this opportunity to fix the bug, which would eliminate their access to the beverage factory's internal information but also cover his tracks.

To continue their operations, he suggested they would need to use "real user data" to bypass the system's defenses against large-scale prize redemptions. Chen Mo, while sorting packages at the company's express station, noticed an abnormal signal. He cautiously returned to the warehouse and secretly installed a listening device. He soon observed the warehouse manager engaged in a clandestine cash transaction with another individual.

The manager initially refused to provide phone numbers, addresses, and IDs, citing a lack of trust, but eventually agreed after receiving cash. This confirmed Chen Mo's suspicions that the manager was involved in selling stolen personal data. At home, Chen Mo's mother accidentally fell in the shower. Mu Tong quickly assisted her and discovered numerous old bruises on her body and legs. Under questioning, Mu Tong learned that these injuries were caused by her caretaker, Sister Zhang.

His mother tried to dismiss them as accidental falls and pleaded with Mu Tong not to tell Chen Mo, worried he would be upset. However, Mu Tong felt it was crucial to inform Chen Mo. When Chen Mo returned home, Mu Tong privately told him about his mother's injuries and their suspected cause.

Distraught, Chen Mo confronted his mother, who again insisted she was fine and that the bruises were not related to Sister Zhang, possibly trying to protect her or herself. Unconvinced and heartbroken, Chen Mo went to the rehabilitation center to investigate. He requested to view the security footage, but the director claimed that the hard drive had conveniently broken, resulting in the loss of many hours of recordings. Chen Mo found this explanation highly suspicious, and they decided to go home while the center promised to investigate further.
