In a bustling city, a man approached a young woman, asking to borrow her power bank. After she lent it to him, he retreated to a secluded spot and swiftly extracted all her personal information. However, his illegal actions did not go unnoticed, and soon, the police arrived to apprehend him. Qin Huai, an information security expert with a CISP certification, proudly recounted this successful case to a new client, Ms. Xia Yan, who had come to consult him.

Xia Yan expressed her desire to install a comprehensive security protection app, but when she heard about the requirement for full upfront payment, she turned to leave. Qin Huai, however, stopped her, revealing that he had already pieced together her situation through her social media activity, including her late-night food posts and lack of posts about her husband. He correctly deduced that she suspected her husband of having an affair, calling himself the type of hacker who does good deeds.

Reluctantly, Xia Yan confirmed Qin Huai's suspicions and poured out her heart. She and her husband, Shi Quan, had been married for years, but recently, he had become distant and constantly glued to his phone. She found it suspicious that he had switched from odorless body wash to a rose-scented one and even bought a cartoon graphic T-shirt.

Qin Huai quickly investigated, revealing that the T-shirt was ACGN merchandise and the rose-scented body wash was merely a giveaway product from a facial mask. Annoyed, Xia Yan insisted on installing a wiretapping app on Shi Quan's phone. Qin Huai, adhering to his principle of never breaking the law, refused to install illegal software, but offered modern, legal methods to gather evidence. He outlined a four-step process for Xia Yan.

First, check Shi Quan's WeRun steps to gauge his physical activity. Xia Yan immediately saw that Shi Quan had already walked thousands of steps by noon. Second, send him a shopping link; if he forwarded it to someone who then opened it, Xia Yan would receive an alert. They tried this, and Xia Yan instantly received a notification that a user had opened the link Shi Quan forwarded.

For the third and fourth steps, Xia Yan would need to act herself. Combining Shi Quan's recent behavior, they soon identified "Ghost Fire Dancer" as a key person of interest. Later that night, while Shi Quan was asleep, Xia Yan logged into Baidu Cloud on his phone with her own account, setting up cloud backup for photos and call logs. She then opened the DiDi app and changed the emergency contact to her number, also enabling default location sharing.

Soon after, her phone received an alert from the DiDi app. Qin Huai and his assistant analyzed "Ghost Fire Dancer's" online profile. They discovered her social media identity was a month-old fabrication, and her photos were stolen from the internet. Qin Huai suspected a deeper conspiracy, finding that she was "not simple" and there might be some hidden plot involved. Separately, the community invited Qin Huai to host a cybersecurity seminar.

During his presentation, the community computer was suddenly hacked, displaying the message "You're my grandson." Thinking quickly, Qin Huai spun the incident into a live demonstration of a cyberattack, instructing the audience to unplug network cables and power down affected machines. After the "demonstration," Qin Huai realized the hack was real and that he had underestimated "Ghost Fire Dancer," guessing it was her doing.

Meanwhile, lawyer Lin Shuo conducted due diligence at Shi Quan's company, reminding all employees that any personal life issues could jeopardize the company's upcoming IPO. The company's boss also issued a warning about the consequences of such issues affecting the company's listing. Shi Quan, seemingly distracted, then used his phone to send a date invitation to "Ghost Fire Dancer." Xia Yan called Qin Huai, asking him to join her in catching Shi Quan red-handed at a hotel.

While his assistant initially declined on Qin Huai's behalf, Qin Huai was intrigued by "Ghost Fire Dancer" and decided to go. At the hotel, Shi Quan attempted to sexually assault the person he believed to be "Ghost Fire Dancer," and when they resisted, he threatened them. Xia Yan and Qin Huai burst in, interrupting the assault. Xia Yan confronted Shi Quan, while Qin Huai chased "Ghost Fire Dancer" through the hotel.

After a long chase, Qin Huai finally caught up, only to discover that "Ghost Fire Dancer" was, in fact, a young man named Zhou You. Qin Huai pressed him to reveal who he was working for, but Zhou You managed to escape, though Qin Huai cleverly swiped a micro-camera hidden on Zhou You's collar. The story then flashed back a week. Zhou You had accidentally saved a young woman named Si Ya from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Si Ya, a recent college graduate, confided in him about her ordeal. She had landed her first job in the city but soon found herself harassed by her boss, Shi Quan, first through messages, then physically. When she decided to resign, Shi Quan falsely accused her of financial tampering, effectively ending her career prospects in the industry. Moved by her plight, Zhou You resolved to help Si Ya expose Shi Quan's true colors.
