A year after You Zhiqi’s sudden disappearance from her life, Cheng Ming remained steadfast, believing he had unspoken difficulties and vowing to wait for his return. One day, after classes, Cheng Ming planned to help Wei Feng at his shop and inquire about Amy, who hadn't been seen since the new semester began. Meanwhile, Fang Yali continued her relentless dance practice, with Zhang Yiyong devotedly accompanying her.
She expressed a desire to study dance abroad, and Zhang Yiyong readily offered to go with her, though he was currently obligated to meet Professor Li Shuangbai. Elsewhere, Qu Shiyun playfully dragged Ding Dongdong along for a shopping trip, primarily intending for him to take numerous beautiful photos of her and subtly deepen their connection. Professor Li Shuangbai informed Zhang Yiyong that You Zhiqi's one-year leave of absence was nearing its end.
If an extension application wasn't submitted, You Zhiqi faced expulsion. Professor Li tasked Zhang Yiyong with taking the extension application to You Zhiqi's management agency for his agent, You You, to sign, stressing its urgency. Zhang Yiyong, as a loyal friend, readily accepted. At Wei Feng’s shop, Cheng Ming brought up Amy’s absence. Wei Feng, who had been following Amy on Weibo, noticed she frequently posted from what appeared to be an underground dance hall.
Upon closer inspection, Cheng Ming confirmed it was indeed such a venue. They immediately headed there and found Amy engaged in a one-on-one dance battle, which she ultimately won with her impressive skills. Amy then asked if she was important to the person she liked, implicitly referring to Wei Feng, who, understanding her meaning, dodged the question and made an excuse to leave.
You Zhiqi returned from Japan, his condition significantly improved after nearly a year of treatment, allowing for a gradual reduction in medication and the prospect of full recovery. His first thought was to find Cheng Ming, the person he felt compelled to protect. As You Zhiqi arrived at Starry Arts Academy, familiar sights brought back vivid memories of Cheng Ming, stirring complex emotions within him. He grappled with how to face her and explain his year-long absence.
Just then, Xiao Liu, You Zhiqi’s assistant, appeared, stating that You You had an urgent matter requiring his immediate return to the company. Reluctantly, You Zhiqi followed Xiao Liu. Earlier that day, Zhang Yiyong had been repeatedly blocked by security guards at the agency, unable to get in despite explaining his purpose. It wasn't until You Zhiqi's arrival that he finally gained entry.
Inside, You You vehemently scolded You Zhiqi for his year-long absence and the company's financial losses, but ultimately focused on leveraging his value as a popular artist. Meanwhile, on campus, Qu Shiyun and Ding Dongdong spotted You Zhiqi and excitedly relayed the news to Cheng Ming over the phone.
Shortly after, Wei Feng also spoke to Cheng Ming on the phone, revealing that before You Zhiqi left, he had asked him to look after Cheng Ming, suggesting she should now seek clarity from You Zhiqi. Cheng Ming rushed to the agency but was also stopped by security. Zhang Yiyong, recognizing her, distracted the guards, allowing Cheng Ming to slip past. Rushing upstairs, she accidentally collided with a cleaner, getting soaked with water as a security guard pursued her relentlessly.
Just as she found herself trapped, You Zhiqi suddenly pulled her into a nearby room. Seeing Cheng Ming drenched, You Zhiqi urged her to take a shower while he dried her clothes. Unexpectedly, You You arrived with Reporter Wang. Thinking quickly, You Zhiqi rushed into the bathroom, covering Cheng Ming's mouth to prevent her from speaking, and pretended to be showering himself. You You expertly diverted Reporter Wang, getting him to temporarily leave the room.
Once they were alone, Cheng Ming confronted You Zhiqi, demanding to know where he had been for the past year and if it was related to his illness. You Zhiqi confessed that he had gone to Japan for medical treatment for his worsening condition. He explained that his harsh words before leaving were out of fear that he might not return, and he didn't want Cheng Ming to endure a hopeless wait.
Cheng Ming retorted that he only considered his own feelings, never what she truly needed. She wanted to face any difficulties with him, not be subjected to such "well-intentioned deception." You Zhiqi then asked if they could be together again, now that he was back.
Cheng Ming, however, firmly stated that while he may have returned and changed, she was no longer the same Cheng Ming who would wait at the original place for him, having spent a year adjusting to life without him.
