All I Want for Love Is You Episode 8 Recap
> All I Want for Love Is You Recap
Xiaoman has carried a deep-seated blood phobia since witnessing her mother's surgery as a child, a fear she has always yearned to overcome. Her father, initially hesitant about her pursuing medicine, eventually relents, but not before assigning her a "special training" task: she must learn to kill a chicken to conquer her aversion to blood.
When Zuo An brings a rooster home, intending to prepare it to nourish Xiaoman, she tries to persuade him to release it, citing its "free soul." However, Zhan Yue soon reappears with the same chicken, humorously returning it. The scene then shifts, revealing this challenge is part of Xiaoman's reality, as her father instructs her to kill the chicken, which she deliberately lets escape. Determined to speak with Zuo An, Xiaoman actively seeks him out.
She confronts him, asking why he is angry and distant, especially now that they are classmates in the same medical school. Zuo An tersely tells her that the medical field is not suitable for her, reminding her of her past ambition to become a teacher. Their tense conversation is abruptly interrupted by a jealous Zhan Yue, who makes a snide remark about Xiaoman's choice of major.
In his eagerness, Zhan Yue accidentally stumbles and plunges headfirst into a large water bucket. Both Xiaoman and Zuo An immediately rush to help him. After being pulled out, Zhan Yue clings tightly to Xiaoman, prompting Zuo An to leave the scene, visibly annoyed by their close interaction. Xiaoman attempts to call Zuo An back, but he simply wishes her a happy holiday and walks away.
Zhan Yue then confidently tells Xiaoman that Zuo An doesn't like her, but he himself does, a statement Xiaoman dismisses as nonsensical. The next day, Zhan Yue encounters Gu father, who playfully teases him about the previous day's incident and Xiaoman saving him. Zhan Yue seizes the opportunity, suggesting it’s a "special fate" that Xiaoman always appears when he's in danger, implying they are a good match. Gu father, clearly displeased, quickly dismisses Zhan Yue's words and sends him home.
That evening, Xiaoman returns home, and Gu father directly questions her about her relationship with Zhan Yue. Xiaoman laughs off the suggestion, vehemently denying any romantic involvement. Relieved, Gu father then advises her on finding a suitable partner, emphasizing the importance of choosing someone who is genuinely good to her, reliable, and mature.
He explicitly states that Zhan Yue, with his playful demeanor and inability to surpass her in anything, is not a good fit, and instructs her to maintain distance from him. Zhan Yue later gathers their classmates to discuss their upcoming farewell meal. Many female students express a strong desire for Zuo An to attend, despite doubts about his presence.
Chi Yaola, after some hesitation, texts Zuo An, who surprisingly agrees to come, much to the delight of Xiaoman and the others. Meanwhile, at home, Zuo An's father informs him of a crucial seminar the next day, requiring him to meet several prominent professors from Nandu University and "Uncle Sun."
Despite Zuo An's wish to attend the farewell meal, his father strongly urges him to prioritize the seminar, highlighting its importance for his future academic career and the need to save face for Uncle Sun. Zuo An is left in a difficult position. Simultaneously, Xiaoman meticulously prepares for the farewell meal, applying a lot of makeup. Her father jokingly expresses surprise at her transformation but praises her appearance.
Later, at the venue, Zhan Yue, seeing Xiaoman's overly pale makeup, mockingly calls her a "steamed bun spirit," earning a retaliatory punch from Xiaoman. Xiaoman, having spent the night creating a special graduation photo collage for Zuo An (since he missed the official one), arrives at the farewell meal, eager to present her gift.
Her excitement quickly turns to disappointment when she receives a call from Zuo An, who apologizes and informs her that he cannot attend the gathering as he is with his father meeting medical professors. Heartbroken, Xiaoman's spirits plummet, and she appears disheartened. Zhan Yue, oblivious to her distress, tries to confess his feelings, but Xiaoman, utterly dispirited, cuts him off and shares the news of Zuo An's absence with the rest of the class.
The other students express deep regret, and Xiaoman sits dejectedly at the table, unable to enjoy the food. Concurrently, Zuo An, feeling restless at his father's meeting, requests to leave and departs. Still dejected by Zuo An's absence, Xiaoman steps out of the main gathering area. To her surprise and delight, Zuo An arrives, apologizing for his lateness. Xiaoman's face immediately lights up, and she excitedly presents him with the graduation photo collage she made.
Zuo An is touched and praises her efforts, saying it is "terrific." Xiaoman then leads Zuo An to the karaoke room where their classmates are singing. Everyone is overjoyed to see Zuo An. Chi Yaola seizes the opportunity to approach him, intending to confess her feelings. However, Zuo An, understanding her unspoken words, gently interrupts her, saying "I know" and apologizing, kindly rejecting her before she can fully articulate her confession.
Despite this, Yaola still hands him her prepared gift, and other classmates follow suit, presenting their own gifts to Zuo An. Zuo An expresses his profound gratitude for the gifts and apologizes to his classmates for not having been a better classmate over the past three years. Meanwhile, Zhan Yue, feeling overshadowed and jealous of the attention Zuo An is receiving, loudly questions why everyone likes Zuo An more than him.
Zuo An skillfully diffuses the tension by playfully acknowledging Zhan Yue as their "little prince." With the atmosphere lightened, everyone joyfully resumes singing and celebrating. Xiaoman, observing Zuo An, feels a deep sense of contentment as her long-cherished dream of a complete and happy graduation ceremony finally comes to fruition, reflecting on the lively high school life she experienced.
