Anning met Gu Xiaoman and intentionally showed Zuo An's wallet, claiming he had forgotten it at her place that morning. When Xiaoman reached for it, Anning pulled it back, teasing Xiaoman for not being angry and then praising her as a "naive and kind girl who is hard to refuse," just as Zuo An had described her. Anning further asserted that Zuo An was not only kind but also very nostalgic.
She opened the wallet to reveal a childhood photo, which she claimed was taken when she was five. Anning then told Xiaoman that Zuo An had asked for this photo as a school progression gift when he entered high school, implying a deep significance between them. Xiaoman, however, expressed doubt, believing the meaning might have changed.
Anning then stated that she did not want to hurt Xiaoman, but the feelings between her and Zuo An were impossible for Xiaoman to understand, suggesting Zuo An's interest in Xiaoman was merely a "sense of freshness." Xiaoman angrily refuted Anning, calling her a storyteller and asking if she thought a few words would make her break up with Zuo An.
Anning countered by asking Xiaoman to consider why Zuo An would keep her photo in his wallet if he didn't care for her. Xiaoman, feeling a surge of jealousy and upset, abruptly left. Back in her dormitory, a distraught Xiaoman was questioned by Zhou Lina and Liu Dan, who noticed her pale face.

Zhou Lina unequivocally stated that it's "exclusive for girlfriends," likening it to the passenger seat of a car, and firmly denied any exceptions. This only deepened Xiaoman's distress.
Alone, Xiaoman's mind raced, replaying Anning's and Zhou Lina's words, and she retreated into her own imagined martial arts world, where she envisioned Zuo An and Anning as soulmates, leaving her to depart sadly and alone. The next morning, Anning publicly returned Zuo An's wallet to him, stating he had left it at her house after he had taken her home the previous day. Xiaoman found the sight of the wallet particularly jarring.
Noticing Xiaoman's upset expression, Zuo An checked on her. Xiaoman asked if he was hiding anything from her. Zuo An denied it, and Xiaoman, choosing to trust him, told him she would wait for him to confide in her when he was ready, emphasizing the importance of honesty between them. Zuo An then tenderly cared for Xiaoman, checking her temperature with his forehead and urging her to rest, but Xiaoman insisted on staying with him.
Zuo An then took her to a scenic spot, where he made her take her medicine, and then kissed her to take away the bitter taste. Their romantic moment was soon interrupted by friends who commented on their sweetness before they all planned to go for dinner together.
As Xiaoman left her dormitory, she was approached by Lin Nana, who claimed that Mr. Shen, their experiment teacher, needed her help to transport a new batch of cadavers for the upcoming experiment class. Despite Xiaoman's confusion about the early transport, Lin Nana assured her it was for "advance preparation." Lin Nana rejected Liu Dan's offer to help, insisting only Xiaoman was strong enough. Without suspicion, Xiaoman accompanied Lin Nana to the cadaver storage room.
Once inside, Lin Nana revealed her true intentions. She taunted Xiaoman, calling her naive, and locked her in. Lin Nana explained her bitterness, revealing that her relationship with Shen Chenyang had been miserable because she constantly worried about Xiaoman "provoking" him. She accused Xiaoman of not letting Shen Chenyang go, despite having Zuo An.
Xiaoman tried to explain that she had barely spoken to Shen Chenyang since he started dating Lin Nana and understood the pain of one's boyfriend being with another girl. Lin Nana, however, was consumed by her resentment, leaving Xiaoman trapped in the cold, dark room with no phone signal. Xiaoman frantically called out Zuo An's name as her consciousness began to fade. Meanwhile, Shen Chenyang had been waiting for Xiaoman outside her dormitory, unable to reach her by phone.
Zuo An, after ensuring Anning was settled, also began searching for Xiaoman. Shen Chenyang eventually encountered Zuo An and Zhou Lina, and Lina mentioned that Liu Dan had seen Xiaoman go with Lin Nana to transport cadavers. Realizing the danger, Shen Chenyang remembered Lin Nana's earlier remark about returning a key. Both men rushed to the storage room, where Shen Chenyang expressed concern about Lin Nana's intentions, noting the extreme cold inside.
They quickly broke open the door, rescued Xiaoman, and immediately rushed her to the hospital. At the hospital, Shen Chenyang reprimanded Zuo An for not adequately protecting Xiaoman, leading Zuo An to feel a deep sense of guilt. While Xiaoman was recovering, Anning called Zuo An, reminding him that her final rehabilitation session was the next day and asking him to bring her ice cream.
Overhearing the conversation, Xiaoman magnanimously urged Zuo An to go, reminding him of his promise to Anning and emphasizing the importance of "finishing what you started" and being a good person, especially given Anning's persistent nature. Zuo An initially resisted, wanting to stay with Xiaoman, but eventually agreed to pick Anning up from the affiliated hospital and then return immediately. He then told Xiaoman she could only have porridge.
Later, Shen Chenyang arrived with homemade food for Xiaoman, claiming to be her "highest level delivery." Xiaoman, however, was reluctant to eat, fearing Zuo An's jealousy, and asked him to leave. Frustrated, Shen Chenyang called Xiaoman an "idiot in love" for letting her boyfriend spend time with another girl and for her apparent self-deception. Xiaoman retorted, calling him an "idiot" in return and ordering him to leave, insisting there was no problem between her and Zuo An.
Shen Chenyang left the food, reiterating his "idiot in love" accusation. Meanwhile, at the rehabilitation center, Anning grew upset with Zuo An's rush to return to Xiaoman. She angrily told him that if he was so worried about "her," he didn't need to stay and should just go.
