While Zuo An and Xiaoman were studying in the library, Xiaoman saw an update on her phone showing Shen Chenyang doing a live review. He apologized for wasting everyone's time, acknowledging he had caused trouble and that many people disliked him, but also expressed his fondness for the school, where he met "his most important friend." Xiaoman was surprised, thinking he might not want to be expelled after all.
Zuo An, however, was cynical, remarking that despite his tough exterior, Shen Chenyang was an "embroidered pillow" who ultimately had to back down. Xiaoman teased Zuo An, asking if he was jealous, to which Zuo An confirmed he was, making Xiaoman smile with delight. Later, Zuo An and Xiaoman were studying together on the grass. He explained that he had organized the space and often came there to read in peace, sometimes encountering a "sweeping monk" – a retired, knowledgeable old professor who volunteered at the library and engaged him in discussions. Xiaoman loved the place, declaring she would be happy anywhere as long as she was with Zuo An.
As they resumed studying, Xiaoman couldn't help but steal glances at Zuo An. Eventually, Zuo An moved closer, taking her hand as they continued to read. Xiaoman, curious, suddenly asked Zuo An why he had chosen her, especially since she couldn't see anything special about herself. Zuo An replied simply that he found her very special. Earlier that day, Yaola had taken him for another audition, where the examiners were highly impressed and offered him overseas training. Zhan Yue was excited but confessed his fear of going alone. Zhan Yue, in turn, formally entrusted Xiaoman's care to Zuo An. Zuo An and Xiaoman then went to see off Zhan Yue and Yaola. After seeing Zhan Yue and Yaola off, Xiaoman predicted they would soon become a couple. Zuo An agreed, calling them a "perfect match," and then sweetly added that he and Xiaoman were also a perfect match. Xiaoman was overjoyed, and they continued their sweet stroll on campus. Their campus life became a string of sweet routines: Zuo An brought breakfast to Xiaoman's dorm every morning, making her roommate Lina envious.
They were inseparable, eating meals, attending classes, going to the library, and visiting their secret storeroom to read together. The teacher warned him not to disturb other students. Later, during an experiment to determine blood types, Shen Chenyang personally pricked Lin Nana's finger to draw blood. Lin Nana shrieked dramatically, drawing the attention of the entire class, while Shen Chenyang fussed over her exaggeratedly.
