The women in Gu Xiaoman’s dormitory were discussing Sun Anning when Anning herself suddenly returned. They began to introduce themselves to each other. Sun Anning, seemingly a bit jealous, told Gu Xiaoman that she already knew her and that she and Zuo An were high school classmates. The other dorm mates were surprised to learn this.
Gu Xiaoman quickly stated that she and Zuo An were not well-acquainted, but Anning immediately contradicted her, mentioning they had seemed quite familiar earlier that day. This left Gu Xiaoman feeling embarrassed. Zhou Lina and Liu Dan, the other roommates, fawned over Sun Anning, given her background, and tried to pry into her relationship with Zuo An. Anning, however, dodged their questions. Just then, Anning's phone rang; it was Zuo An. She answered cheerfully and headed downstairs.
The two curious roommates then led Gu Xiaoman to follow Anning. They watched Zuo An and Anning chatting happily. Zuo An explained he was simply fulfilling Anning's father's request to ensure she arrived home safely. Seeing the two laughing and talking together made Gu Xiaoman feel deeply disheartened. That night, Gu Xiaoman once again entered her fantastical martial arts world, dreaming of Zuo An and Anning in an intimate embrace.
She suddenly cried out, startling herself awake and frightening Lina and Liu Dan. Lina complained loudly, prompting Gu Xiaoman to apologize and leave the dormitory to run on the playground. Gu Xiaoman ran furiously, trying to vent her frustration. She struggled to accept the idea of Zuo An liking someone else, yet she also encouraged herself not to give up. As she headed back to the dormitory, she unexpectedly encountered Shen Chenyang, leading to another misunderstanding.
Shen Chenyang, believing Gu Xiaoman was out running late at night specifically to meet him, once again concocted a dramatic scenario of being secretly admired. His interest in Gu Xiaoman grew, and he offered to treat her to a midnight snack. Gu Xiaoman wanted nothing to do with him, but Shen Chenyang persisted. In her exasperation, Gu Xiaoman accidentally punched him again. Shen Chenyang mentally noted this incident.
As university military training began, Zhan Yue sought out Gu Xiaoman during a meal. Seeing them together, roommates Lina and Liu Dan, assuming Zhan Yue was Gu Xiaoman's boyfriend, discreetly left to give them privacy. Gu Xiaoman then told Zhan Yue that they should maintain a distance to avoid misunderstandings. When Zuo An approached, intending to join them, Zhan Yue abruptly sent him away. During their conversation, Zhan Yue inadvertently revealed that Zuo An lived diagonally opposite his dormitory.
Gu Xiaoman immediately asked for Zuo An's room number, but Zhan Yue initially refused to tell her. Only after Gu Xiaoman offered to wash his socks did he relent and tell her the number. Zuo An, observing their close interaction from a distance, felt a pang of displeasure. Military training continued with intensity. Shen Chenyang sat observing the freshmen, but Gu Xiaoman became distracted by his presence. The instructor called her out to demonstrate goose-stepping.
To her embarrassment, the pants of her military uniform suddenly ripped. Shen Chenyang then appeared, laughing at her predicament. Gu Xiaoman realized he was behind this trick. Sun Anning promptly removed her outer uniform and offered it to Gu Xiaoman, helping to alleviate the awkward situation. Upon learning that Shen Chenyang had bullied Gu Xiaoman, Zhan Yue couldn't help but confront him, leading to a scuffle. Both Gu Xiaoman and Zhan Yue were subsequently punished with standing at attention.
Afterward, still fuming, Gu Xiaoman intercepted Shen Chenyang to talk. However, their personalities clashed, and their conversation quickly devolved into another argument. Gu Xiaoman, once again, punched Shen Chenyang. When Zuo An learned of Gu Xiaoman's ordeal, he personally confronted Shen Chenyang and warned him to stop bothering her. Zuo An revealed he had uncovered evidence of Shen Chenyang's plagiarism, threatening that if he didn't want his family's listed company to be affected, he should leave Gu Xiaoman alone.
Shen Chenyang, looking thoughtful, reluctantly agreed to back down for the time being. Zuo An then found Gu Xiaoman, expressing his concern. He then retrieved a new military uniform for her. Gu Xiaoman returned to her dormitory with the new uniform, where her roommates were still discussing Shen Chenyang's antics. Suddenly, a group of people entered, carrying various bouquets of flowers.
Everyone admired them, assuming they were for Sun Anning, but to their surprise, the flowers were for Gu Xiaoman, sent by Shen Chenyang. Before the military training session began, Shen Chenyang publicly announced his intention to pursue Gu Xiaoman and even bought water for all her classmates as a gesture of goodwill. Gu Xiaoman watched, utterly exasperated. Still troubled by his persistent attention, Gu Xiaoman sought out Shen Chenyang again to talk. She got into his car, an action witnessed by both Zhan Yue and Zuo An, leaving them deeply worried.
