Yao Fu was gravely injured, even more severely than Yuan Yingxing. Her condition worsened significantly because she had blocked a knife for him while her initial wound was still healing. She remained unconscious, her life hanging in the balance. Upon hearing this, Yuan Yingxing initially threatened the doctor who had rescued them, demanding that Yao Fu be saved. However, the doctor firmly refused. Learning there might still be a way to awaken Yao Fu, Yuan Yingxing pleaded for her help.

The doctor eventually revealed a Nine-Eyed Ice Silkworm, capable of devouring rotting flesh and healing wounds. But the silkworm had been dormant for many years and required someone with profound internal strength to awaken it, a process fraught with danger and extreme pain. Yuan Yingxing immediately agreed to undertake the perilous task.

Meanwhile, the Valley Chief discovered that the Alliance Leader's Tokens were intact, contradicting Jin Buhuan's earlier claim that the Moon Blade was missing and had been with the Shengyue Sect. When questioned, Jin Buhuan insisted this was impossible, stating the Moon Blade, which was also the Shengyue Token, should be with Yuan Yingxing, not Yunmen. To avoid a marriage to Jin Buhuan, Lu Xuanxuan volunteered to investigate. Her father, the Valley Chief, was reluctant, citing her past failures.

Jin Buhuan expressed concern about the danger to Lu Xuanxuan, but she was resolute, determined to marry Yang Qing, not him, and thus willing to risk anything. She dismissed Jin Buhuan, telling him to leave before she got angry and interfered with her mission. Later that night, Ling Yin and Mingyang covertly searched the valley for the imprisoned Shengyue Sect disciples. They nearly encountered two valley disciples, but Ling Yin, acting swiftly, kissed Mingyang.

The guards mistook them for other sect disciples engaged in a clandestine affair and paid them no mind, leaving Mingyang somewhat dazed by Ling Yin's boldness. At the same time, Wangyue secretly entered Yang Qing's room, searching for the Sun Blade. Lu Xuanxuan spotted Wangyue acting suspiciously and brought her own people to catch Wangyue red-handed. As Lu Xuanxuan's group searched the room, Yang Qing appeared.

He found Wangyue hiding in a cabinet and, to her disappointment, deliberately displayed the Sun and Moon Blades to Lu Xuanxuan, letting her believe they were the Alliance Leader's Tokens. Wangyue then seized the opportunity to inquire about the Alliance Leader's Token, but was disheartened to learn that the genuine Sun Blade remained securely at Yunmen. As Wangyue left, Yang Qing pondered whether her closeness to him was merely a ploy to obtain the Sun Blade.

To save Yao Fu, Yuan Yingxing selflessly used his blood to awaken the Nine-Eyed Ice Silkworm. The process was agonizing, causing immense pain and weakening him. Despite a helper urging him to stop and extract the silkworm, Yuan Yingxing refused, enduring the torment until the silkworm awakened. After placing the awakened silkworm on Yao Fu's wounds, the doctor suggested that the presence of a loved one could ease her pain.

Yuan Yingxing initially declared he wasn't close to Yao Fu and began to leave. However, upon hearing Yao Fu cry out in agony, he returned to her side, comforting her and promising to stay with her until she recovered. Yang Qing sought out Shang Huai to understand the events surrounding the Shengyue Sect's destruction, as he had been in seclusion at the time.

Shang Huai explained that Yuan Yingxing, despite his formidable martial arts, was captured because he became completely distraught after hearing of Wangyue's death, leaving him vulnerable. Shang Huai further revealed the Shengyue Sect's tradition of the Chief and Saintess marrying, implying that Yuan Yingxing and Wangyue were destined to be together. He also disclosed that the dungeon holding the Shengyue Sect remnants, a joint effort by several major sects, could only be opened with Yunmen's Sun Blade.

Yang Qing then realized Wangyue's true motive for approaching him was to acquire the Sun Blade to free her people. That night, Yang Qing watched Wangyue from outside her window as she slept. Wangyue was having a vivid nightmare, repeatedly calling out Yuan Yingxing's name, causing Yang Qing to deeply misunderstand her feelings. Ling Yin, passing by, noticed Yang Qing outside Wangyue's room. Yao Fu eventually regained consciousness.

Seeing her awake, Yuan Yingxing became visibly awkward, uttered a harsh remark about never wanting to see her again, and promptly left. Wangyue, realizing Yang Qing had overheard her calling Yuan Yingxing's name in her dream and was surely upset, immediately went to find him, desperate to explain. Yang Qing, though claiming he wasn't angry, clearly harbored deep feelings. Wangyue tried various methods to appease him, but he found her efforts insincere.

As Yang Qing pondered his feelings, he unexpectedly encountered the insightful fortune teller again, whose advice helped him to alleviate some of his doubts. Later, Yang Qing confronted Mingyang, who had trespassed into Biluo Valley. Yang Qing warned Mingyang that his presence, as a Fire Hall Master of the Shengyue Sect, would bring danger to Wangyue and the imprisoned sect members. Wangyue, arriving at the scene, supported Yang Qing's argument, urging Mingyang to leave.

Seeing Wangyue's distress, Mingyang agreed to depart. Yang Qing then showed Mingyang a discrete exit, cautioning him not to return if he truly cared for Wangyue's safety. Yang Qing then directly confronted Wangyue about her true intentions, questioning her identity as an orphan from Yangliu Town, her knowledge of Yuan Yingxing, and her mastery of Shengyue Sect techniques, and reiterated his dislike for her dishonesty.

Later, Wangyue found Yang Qing and, as a gesture of apology and sincerity, presented him with jujube cakes she had walked many miles to buy in the middle of the night. She explained that she undertook this journey to understand his past actions and to express her true feelings.

Wangyue tearfully confessed that she was sincere, that he was the only one she cared about and liked in the present, and that she never meant to treat him as a plaything. Yang Qing, still affected by her dream, admitted his unhappiness about hearing another man's name from her lips, but conceded that dreams are separate from reality. He was moved by her efforts and her heartfelt confession. Wangyue then joyfully reminded Yang Qing that it was his birthday. Yang Qing, surprised, realized he had forgotten and promised to find her later that evening to celebrate.
