Well Dominated Love Episode 6 Recap
> Well Dominated Love Recap
Following Nie Xingchen’s rejection, a frustrated Yan Jingzhi meets with Han Ziyu to complain. Han Ziyu analyzes the situation using psychology, explaining that Nie Xingchen is likely experiencing the Zeigarnik effect, where one remains fixated on unfinished matters—in this case, her past love. He compares Yan Jingzhi's frustration to the fable of the fox who dismisses the grapes he can't reach as sour.
Initially annoyed, Yan Jingzhi prepares to leave but has a change of heart, declaring he now wants to "eat the grapes," signaling his intent to follow Han Ziyu’s advice. Adopting Han Ziyu’s strategy, Yan Jingzhi begins to intentionally give Nie Xingchen the cold shoulder. He reassigns her key responsibilities to Secretary Tong, leaving Nie Xingchen confused.
Her bewilderment turns into a mix of complex emotions when Tong Xin informs her that Yan Jingzhi will be spending the weekend on a date with Zhen Nian. During their meal, Yan Jingzhi goes to pay, and the cashier remarks that he looks familiar. Suffering from amnesia, Yan Jingzhi has no memory of being there before. Nearby, Zhen Nian spots a photo of Yan Jingzhi and Nie Xingchen on the restaurant’s photo wall.
Panicked, she quickly snatches it, hides it in her bag, and urges Yan Jingzhi to leave immediately. Meanwhile, Han Ziyu is on a blind date, secretly observed by Tong Xin. Seeing Han Ziyu’s lack of interest, Tong Xin intervenes by posing as the president of his celebrity fan club, successfully scaring the woman away. She then insists on taking a commemorative photo with her "idol."
That night, a restless Nie Xingchen receives a call from Yan Jingzhi, who asks to meet at a shopping center. She agrees and arrives early. Seeing this, Yan Jingzhi privately gloats that Han Ziyu's tactic of using provocation to elicit a reaction is working. He then asks Nie Xingchen to help him choose a gift for his friend, Hanna, whom he describes as "more than a friend" and close to her age.
At dinner with Hanna, Nie Xingchen grows disheartened as Hanna demonstrates an intimate knowledge of Yan Jingzhi’s habits, including his compulsion for even numbers and his picky past. However, in the restroom, Hanna confides that she is merely Yan Jingzhi's neighbor and older sister figure and is already engaged. She encourages Nie Xingchen, hinting that she is the woman Yan Jingzhi has been looking for.
After the meal, Yan Jingzhi attempts his ploy, telling Nie Xingchen he previously acted irrationally due to an "overdose of dopamine" and that they are not a good match. Seeing through his strategy, Nie Xingchen tells him the provocation won't work, reaffirming that her only reason for rejecting him is that she met her first love before him. Bothered by the mention of her first love, Yan Jingzhi confronts Zhao Yuanfang for information.
Seeing a rival, Zhao Yuanfang challenges him to a drinking game, promising to talk if Yan Jingzhi wins. After they both become heavily intoxicated, Zhao Yuanfang feigns memory loss. A frustrated Yan Jingzhi calls Nie Xingchen for a ride, but she offers to send a driver. However, when Zhao Yuanfang calls her moments later, she immediately agrees to come herself, leaving Yan Jingzhi feeling slighted. Nie Xingchen arrives to find both men drunk on a staircase.
Yan Jingzhi complains that she always finds excuses to put him off. With a bartender's help, she gets them into Yan Jingzhi's car. As she fastens his seatbelt, he pulls her into a sudden embrace, making her heart race. After dropping Zhao Yuanfang off, Nie Xingchen takes Yan Jingzhi home. In a drunken state, he begins to undress, forcing her to intervene.
He laments not meeting her sooner, which stirs her old feelings, but when he mentions his deepest regret is not seeing his father for the last time, she is visibly shaken. She pushes him away, warns him not to act that way again, and flees. The next day, Yan Jingzhi fakes an emergency to lure Nie Xingchen to his home. Annoyed by the prank, she declares she is taking the day off for a class reunion.
He tries to block her from leaving, but she retaliates by threatening to disrupt his meticulously arranged belongings, playing on his OCD to make her escape. At the reunion, a classmate named Zhou Weiwei taunts Nie Xingchen about her career and love life. Yan Jingzhi arrives unexpectedly, and another classmate mentions having seen him before, possibly at a basketball court. Alarmed, Nie Xingchen tries to rush Yan Jingzhi out, but he insists on finding out why he was recognized.
Cornered, she confesses the truth: he looks identical to her first love, whom she has never forgotten, and this resemblance is the reason for her special attention. Feeling he has been nothing more than a substitute, an enraged Yan Jingzhi storms off. Zhou Weiwei immediately calls Zhen Nian to report what happened. Hearing that Yan Jingzhi is pursuing Nie Xingchen and that someone recognized him from college, Zhen Nian panics and shreds the stolen photograph.
Meanwhile, the recurring comments about his past make Yan Jingzhi suspicious. He returns to the restaurant and learns from the cashier that a photo of a couple was indeed removed from the wall. He goes directly to Zhen Nian’s home and confronts her, demanding to know what she is hiding and where the photo is. As she nervously picks at her fingers, a telltale sign of her anxiety, he sees through her lies and presses for the truth.
