Continuing their confrontation from the hot springs, Yan Jingzhi presses Nie Xingchen about her connection to his lost memories, holding out a ring. Nie Xingchen firmly denies any involvement in his past, insisting her memory has no trace of him. As he tries to force the ring on her, Zhen Nian, who had been searching for him at the hotel after being denied his room number by the staff, interrupts them.
Nie Xingchen uses the interruption to excuse herself, and Zhao Yuanfang escorts her away. As they leave, Zhao Yuanfang asks if Yan Jingzhi is her unforgettable first love, but she deflects the question. Later, Zhen Nian questions Yan Jingzhi about Nie Xingchen and Zhao Yuanfang, noting Zhao’s attentiveness towards Nie. Yan Jingzhi states that, as far as he knows, they are not dating.
Zhen Nian then attempts to get closer to Yan Jingzhi, even asking if she could stay in his room. However, Yan Jingzhi clearly distances himself, telling her directly that she is not the owner of the ring he holds. He explains that he had initially felt a familiar connection to her when he helped her in America, but he is now certain she is not the person he is looking for.
Zhen Nian, heartbroken, questions why he would rather wait for an unknown person than give her a chance after five years of her being the only woman by his side. Yan Jingzhi simply replies that he feels he is close to finding that person. Nie Xingchen confides in Zhao Yuanfang, telling him that her continued presence is merely an excuse to confirm Yan Jingzhi is doing well before she leaves for good.
Zhao Yuanfang urges her to either tell Yan Jingzhi the truth and restart their relationship or end it completely, but Nie Xingchen insists she is past that point. Meanwhile, Yan Jingzhi discovers a video of Nie Xingchen and Zhao Yuanfang out together. Infuriated, he immediately orders all staff to return to the company. Back at the office, Yan Jingzhi confronts Nie Xingchen, demanding to know why she is avoiding him.
When she maintains her denial, he tries to force the ring on her finger. Nie Xingchen pushes him away, asserting that she already has a boyfriend. At that moment, Zhao Yuanfang appears, claiming Nie Xingchen as his girlfriend and telling Yan Jingzhi to respect their relationship. Yan Jingzhi retorts that it is still working hours, but Zhao Yuanfang quickly counters that it is now after hours and asks Nie Xingchen what she wants for dinner.
Frustrated, Yan Jingzhi vents his anger on a punching bag. Han Ziyu, noticing his agitated state, advises him to get a psychiatric check-up for potential mania. Separately, Tong Xin encounters Han Ziyu at the hospital and passionately defends his professional abilities to other patients' relatives, highlighting his credentials as an excellent doctor. She then introduces herself as the president of his fan club, pledging unconditional support, which leaves Han Ziyu bewildered.
Later, Zhao Yuanfang meets Yan Jingzhi at a bar and offers his remaining 20% of Yuanda's shares in exchange for Nie Xingchen's freedom. Yan Jingzhi flatly refuses the deal, stating that its profitability is none of Zhao Yuanfang's concern. The next day, Zhao Yuanfang makes a grand entrance at the CEO's office, bringing snacks for the staff. He publicly thanks everyone for taking care of "our Xingchen" and implies she is his girlfriend.
Nie Xingchen quickly pulls him into his office, but Yan Jingzhi follows them. He sternly informs Nie Xingchen that regardless of her private relationships, her sole identity within the company is his chief secretary, and all company matters must prioritize his interests. Nie Xingchen deftly shifts the conversation to work, suggesting they hire a celebrity ambassador for the Quwo app. When asked for a name, she suggests Zhen Nian.
Yan Jingzhi immediately approves and assigns Nie Xingchen to manage the project. Nie Xingchen meets with Zhen Nian to discuss the ambassador role. Zhen Nian claims her biggest worry is how her potential marriage to Yan Jingzhi might affect the brand's image. Nie Xingchen assures her that contractual clauses can address such concerns. Zhen Nian then fakes a call from Yan Jingzhi to make it seem he is arriving, prompting Nie Xingchen to leave.
When Yan Jingzhi arrives moments later, Zhen Nian insinuates to him that Nie Xingchen left in a hurry to avoid him. The Quwo press conference is a success, adding 300,000 new users. Afterwards, Yan Jingzhi presses Nie Xingchen, asking if she has anything to tell him beyond work. She maintains her distance, claiming her recent unavailability was due to work handover. When he insists they talk, she threatens to leave the company and wishes him and Zhen Nian happiness.
Later, at the after-party, Zhao Yuanfang approaches Zhen Nian, offering to drink with her and pointedly referring to her as the "future proprietress." The next morning, Yan Jingzhi is dismayed to find Tong Xin covering for Nie Xingchen, who has called in sick with a severe cold. That evening, Yan Jingzhi unexpectedly appears at Nie Xingchen's apartment. He says he is there to reconcile, promising not to mistake her for someone else again and asking her to stop avoiding him.
Noticing the mess, his obsessive-compulsive tendencies kick in, and he begins meticulously cleaning her home despite her protests. After he finishes, Nie Xingchen complains that she cannot find anything, including her hair ties. Yan Jingzhi, however, precisely recounts the location and number of her hair accessories. She then tries to fend him off by claiming her boyfriend would disapprove of his visit.
Yan Jingzhi dismisses her lie, pointing out the complete lack of any man's belongings in her home and warning her that the noses of children who lie grow longer. The next day, Nie Xingchen’s colleagues show her a short video of Yan Jingzhi she inadvertently filmed that has gone viral, trending with the keyword "My Husband, So Handsome."
The Publicity Director proposes filming a series on the CEO's daily life, but Nie Xingchen rejects the idea, stating Yan Jingzhi dislikes his private life being public. Later, Yan Jingzhi finds her watching the viral video and asks what his fans call him. Nie Xingchen reluctantly replies, "Husband," which visibly pleases him. He then comments on her Sudoku game and unusual snack choice of pitaya with strawberry yogurt, revealing his close observation of her. When she accuses him of invading her privacy, he tells her to stop seeing him as her boss and to view him as an ordinary man.
