Hong Ling, a woman from the Heshu tribe, bids farewell to Su He, confessing her affection for him and her desire to help him achieve victory. She vows to ensure he doesn't die. Later, she uses her acute senses to locate her father, Heshu Zhuozhuo (also referred to as A'ba), a Heshu tribesman who had been captured by the Muru and was serving as a horse caretaker for the Lingfeng warhorses in the Muru army camp.
After a joyful reunion, Hong Ling expresses her wish for them to leave for a beautiful place. To aid the Helan tribe and the person she likes, she persuades her father to intentionally release the warhorses. For his daughter's sake, Heshu Zhuozhuo agrees. The following day, Heshu Zhuozhuo successfully sets thousands of Lingfeng warhorses free to run across the plains, which Muru soldiers fail to recapture.
As Hong Ling pulls her father away, attempting to flee, Mu Ruhan Shan of the Muru Iron Cavalry pursues them and fatally shoots Heshu Zhuozhuo with an arrow. Enraged and heartbroken, Hong Ling uses a secret technique to strike Mu Ruhan Shan to the ground. As her father lies dying, he asks how far away the beautiful place is; Hong Ling cries, begging him not to sleep and promising to take him there immediately.
Hong Ling then drags her father's body to the Helan camp, informing Tie Yuan about the Muru's devastating loss of their warhorses. At this time, Tie Yuan is already rallying the Helan soldiers, who are aware of the Muru's weakened state. Shuofeng Heye stands with a tied-up Muyun Yanshuang, as everyone anticipates the imminent war.
Tie Yuan emphasizes to his assembled soldiers that the Muru army, deprived of their most valuable asset – the Lingfeng warhorses – is no longer to be feared. He inspires them by declaring this battle to be of paramount importance, not just to diminish the Muru Iron Cavalry's glory, but to pave their path to Tianqi with Muru blood, thus securing the world, land, and future.
He states that victory means everything, while defeat merely costs a life, and they would ultimately return to fight another day. His words significantly boost the soldiers' morale. Meanwhile, in Tianqi City, Emperor Muyun Qin receives a growing number of memorials from various princes and officials (including Qin Wang), urging him to execute Muyun Sheng within ten days, threatening to dispatch their own armies if he fails to comply.
To protect both Muyun Sheng and the Duan Dynasty, the Emperor reluctantly orders Wu Ruyi to issue an edict for Muru Suo to return to Tianqi within ten days to guard him. On the Northern Wasteland, realizing the Muru Iron Cavalry's impending defeat after losing their horses, Mu Ruhan Shan rallies his own generals and soldiers.
He reminds them of their honor, declaring that true Muru men would rather shed their blood on the lands of Hanzhou than retreat, and resolves to lead his forces in a decisive battle against Tie Yuan and Shuofeng Heye. Overcome with grief, Hong Ling refuses to abandon her father's body. Despite Su He's attempts to console her and suggest letting Heshu Zhuozhuo rest in peace, Hong Ling insists on taking his body to the Black Forest.
She believes a secret individual residing there can revive her father, ensuring he remains by her side forever, even if his appearance changes or he loses his memories. Both A'mu (also known as Danyao Po Po) and Su He inquire about the identity of this mysterious person, but Hong Ling states she doesn't know, only that she and 'Chi Lang' are his slaves, and he wields the most terrifying curse magic in Kyushu.
Hong Ling reveals her own past: she was kidnapped to the Black Forest as a child and became a witch, a slave to this enigmatic figure, bound to serve him for life. She explains that even if she doesn't return, she must obey him whenever he calls upon her. A'mu suggests Su He could break Hong Ling's curse to grant her freedom.
However, Hong Ling asserts that even Su He's powerful secret arts are no match for this individual's magic, which is capable of summoning the earth's power to transform a once vibrant Green Forest into the desolate Black Forest. Upon hearing this, A'mu (Danyao Po Po) realizes that the powerful magic responsible is the "Curse of Frost," and its practitioner is Hanzhou's greatest secret technique master.
Driven by this discovery, A'mu (Danyao Po Po), leading the Danyao tribe, urgently requests to depart from Tie Yuan. She intends to journey to the Black Forest to find this master, believing that only by uncovering the greatest secret technique of Hanzhou can she help Tie Yuan and his forces overcome future dangers and secure their victory. In Tianqi City, at the Kyushu Inn, Lan Yu'er assists Nanku Yueli, who is happily boasting about Muyun Hege's favor.
Her cheerful demeanor abruptly changes when Muyun Hege arrives with Mei Yin, a beautiful woman, sparking a sense of crisis in Nanku Yueli. Muyun Hege states he came to see Nanku Yueli even before visiting his mother, the Empress. Nanku Yueli then informs him that the Empress Nanku Mingyi has been imprisoned for grave crimes, including the murder of Concubine Yin Rongfei and attempted regicide.
Heartbroken and disillusioned by Emperor Muyun Qin's actions, Muyun Hege declares that if the Emperor forces his hand, he will not be to blame, resolving to assassinate his father. As Muyun Hege prepares to leave, Nanku Yueli intercepts Mei Yin, offering her a golden-red gown and asking her to return for it the following day.
To carry out his extreme plan, Muyun Hege seeks the assistance of Xue Huo (also referred to as Elder Xue), offering him a large mermaid pearl and promising him and his descendants lasting glory. Initially, Xue Huo is skeptical and unwilling to risk himself, wanting to maintain his safety.
Muyun Hege, however, earnestly explains that the world has become a broken dream for him; his mother, the strong Empress Nanku Mingyi, cannot endure the suffering of the imperial prison, and he has realized that a prince without power is nothing. Convinced by Muyun Hege's genuine words, Xue Huo agrees to support the regicide, but with the condition that Muyun Hege must find someone else to commit the act.
Once the deed is done, Xue Huo promises to assist him in ascending to the throne. When Muyun Hege admits he has no men or gold to carry out the assassination, Xue Huo reveals he has a solution. He introduces his daughter, Ji Yuncong, stating that she can provide the necessary gold and assistance for Muyun Hege to assassinate the Emperor and seize the throne. The crucial condition for this aid is that Muyun Hege must take Ji Yuncong as his Empress, ensuring that one holds the imperial throne and the other the empress's position.
