Shuofeng Heye reached Tieyuan, kneeling and presenting the Iron King Sword. He declared that a true Iron King does not kill women, thereby stopping Tieyuan. Tieyuan, in a moment of breakdown, revealed that Shuofeng Heye was the one who pulled the Iron King Sword from the lava and gave it to him.

Despite this, no one, not even his own woman, believed he was the prophesied Iron King, though he himself was convinced he was the king destined to lead the Hanzhou people across the Tianluo Strait, attack Tianqi, and conquer the lands of Kyushu. He promised his people a future of pure joy, the most fertile lands, and the most delicious food and salt, provided they could forget their mutual hatred and recognize their true enemies and masters.

To demonstrate his sincerity, Tieyuan knelt before the Suqin tribe, holding the Iron King Sword, and begged them to stay. Shuofeng Heye was the first to lead by kneeling, proclaiming Tieyuan's greatness, followed by members of other tribes who also knelt and shouted his praise. Moved by this, the Suqin tribe disarmed and surrendered, agreeing to remain.

Tieyuan then pronounced Ziyan guilty of betraying the alliance and ordered her bound to a wooden frame or torture rack to be exposed to the sun until death. Helan tribesmen carried out this punishment. Days later, Ziyan remained tied to the torture rack under the open sky, enduring heavy snow at times, the rawhide ropes around her body growing increasingly dry and tight, threatening to strangle her. A Chilang tribe girl named Hongling passed by and saw Ziyan's plight.

Ziyan pleaded with Hongling to loosen the rope on her belly, as her unborn child could not endure such torment. Though afraid to openly defy the Iron King's command, Hongling, filled with pity for the child, poured a bowl of water on the drying ropes to loosen them. Hongling then returned to Granny Danyao, who was also known as Amu, and found her treating Muyun Yanshuang's injuries. Granny Danyao discovered that Muyun Yanshuang was afflicted by a secret art.

She immediately instructed Suhe to inform Shuofeng Heye that the woman he brought back would bring disaster to their tribe. Meanwhile, Shuofeng Heye and members of the Suqin tribe pleaded with Tieyuan to spare Ziyan, with Heye arguing that the Iron King's authority should be built on righteous choices, not on killing. Tieyuan, however, refused to listen, telling Heye to remember his place and not betray his commands.

Tieyuan then inquired about Tieduo's whereabouts and Muyun Yanshuang's true identity, but Heye remained silent. Soon after, tribesmen arrived to report on Muyun Yanshuang's affliction with the secret art. Later, in the main tent, Tieyuan confronted Shuofeng Heye about bringing back a woman wearing Muyun clan armor. Heye explained that Muyun Yanshuang would leave once her injuries healed.

Shuofeng Heye then confronted Muyun Yanshuang, feeling she had deceived him, especially since he had used the Spirit Bell to summon the Chilang tribe for her, only for her to arrive at the Helan army camp bearing a secret art. Both Shuofeng Heye and Tieyuan demanded to know about the secret art.

Muyun Yanshuang, remembering Muru Hanshan's earlier words to her, began to cry and asked Tieyuan and the other Helan tribesmen to leave the tent, stating she wished to speak only with Shuofeng Heye. Tieyuan smiled and complied, leaving them alone. In the dungeon or slave prison, Mu Ruhanjiang asked Su Yuning if she remembered their promise, expressing his desire to spend the rest of his life with her and care for her forever.

Su Yuning, recalling Muyun De's words, gave a harsh refusal, unwilling to share her life with Hanzhang. She explained that her most difficult days had been in Yishui Village. She had initially believed that wandering the world with Hanzhang would be a joyful and free experience, but upon truly experiencing it, she found that life to be bitter.

She asserted that she could not allow Hanzhang to suffer the emperor's wrath or implicate the entire Muru family or manor because of her. She also stated that achieving a life of wealth, luxury, and security would not be difficult for her. With a cruel rejection, she bid Hanzhang farewell, informing him that she intended to seek Muyun Lu.

Hanzhang was deeply saddened, unable to comprehend her sudden change after she had left the previous night, presumably from the Kyushu Inn. After leaving the dungeon, Su Yuning proceeded alone to the imperial palace, where she knelt at the gates to confess her crime of privately escaping. Emperor Muyun Qin summoned her, expressing his confusion as to why she would return after having successfully escaped.

Su Yuning explained that she had escaped on her own accord and had returned specifically to prevent the emperor from mistakenly believing that Hanzhang had abducted her, thus protecting Hanzhang and the Muru family from implication. She requested punishment for herself and pleaded with Muyun Qin to release Hanzhang and restore his trust in the Muru family. Emperor Muyun Qin then ordered Wu Ruyi to take Su Yuning to the imperial dungeon.

There, Su Yuning, now a prisoner, encountered a deranged Ling Heqing. Upon seeing her, Ling Heqing immediately proclaimed that she had brought disaster to Tianqi Imperial City and had introduced the future new king into the city, loudly declaring that the Duan Dynasty was doomed to fall. Meanwhile, at an inn, Nanku Yueli reflected on the numerous humiliations and experiences she had endured over the years, finally reaching a resolute decision.

While she and Muyun Luan had been intimate, Muyun Luan had offered her a worry-free life by his side. Yueli, however, had simply smiled, remarking that if a worry-free life were her sole desire, she would not have fallen to her current desperate state; she believed that only by becoming Empress could she truly justify all the suffering she had undergone throughout the years.

Muyun Luan had doubted that He Ge, being no fool, would accept Yueli again, but Yueli insisted on seeing He Ge. That night, Nanku Yueli took a dagger, and, recalling her past degradations, painfully cut a wound into her own face. She then applied a packet of powder to the injury. Afterward, she opened her door and called for Qin Yufeng, who was waiting outside, instructing him to find medicine that would make the wound scab over quickly.

Qin Yufeng was perplexed by her act of self-inflicted cruelty, but Yueli explained that this was her "capital to win," emphasizing that women of the Nanku family never lose and that she was determined to win this game back. In the Muru military camp, Muru Hanshan, Mu Ruhanjiang's brother, discovered the location of Shuofeng Heye's army and the Helan main camp using a tracking arrow and a secret art. He joyfully reported this intelligence to his father, Muru Shuo.

Muru Shuo, however, was suspicious of how Hanshan obtained this information and questioned him about Muyun Yanshuang's whereabouts. Hanshan initially attempted to conceal the truth, but Muru Shuo's keen perception led him to realize that Hanshan had used Muyun Yanshuang to pinpoint the camp's location, forcing Hanshan to reveal everything. Muru Shuo furiously declared Hanshan unworthy of the Muru surname.

Hanshan countered, arguing that their army was facing a severe supply shortage, and without finding the Helan main camp, twenty thousand soldiers would inevitably starve to death in the Northern Land.
