In the inn's courtyard, Mu Yunde confronts Nanku Yueli, mocking her. Yueli states she doesn't care about others' opinions, only doing what she believes is right. Mu Yunde observes her ambition to become empress, but says many, including him, find Su Yuning more suitable. Yueli is surprised to learn from Mu Yunde that Su Yuning is currently in the inn, recalling their childhood together where Su Yuning was always favored due to her empress prophecy.
Mu Yunde advises Yueli that ambition requires sufficient skill and refuses to reveal Su Yuning's location, expressing enjoyment at Yueli's unhappiness. Nanku Yueli, unable to get Su Yuning's location from Mu Yunde, bribes an inn waiter with gold, jewels, and ornaments to discover her whereabouts. In the inn's slave prison/dungeon, Mu Ruhanjiang awakens and smiles at Su Yuning. They lean on each other, feeling incredibly sweet. Su Yuning, smiling, asks if he's hungry, and Hanjiang, surprised and happy, nods.
Nanku Yueli arranges to meet Su Yuning, taking her from the slave prison. Yueli tells Su Yuning that Mu Ruhanjiang, though not incompetent, bears the heavy crime of abducting a showgirl, which will prevent him from ever holding his head high. Yueli states that retreating to the countryside would waste his talents and warns Su Yuning against competing for the empress position, threatening her with Mu Ruhanjiang's fate.
Feeling deep self-reproach because Hanjiang's serious injuries stemmed from taking her from the palace, and desiring only to be with Hanjiang, Su Yuning agrees to confess her guilt to Mu Yunqin, stating she left voluntarily and not under duress, thereby taking all blame to ensure Hanjiang's peace. Before they part, Su Yuning urges Yueli to take good care of herself, believing Yueli, having lost her entire family, needs care more than she does.
After Nanku Yueli leaves, Mu Yunde calls Su Yuning and reveals that Mu Ruhanjiang killed his mother in order to save Su Yuning. Su Yuning is deeply remorseful and shocked by this tragic event. Returning to the slave prison/dungeon, Su Yuning is troubled and becomes silent, despite Mu Ruhanjiang's inquiries.
Mu Ruhanjiang asks if she is willing to let him care for her for life, but Su Yuning avoids answering, silently clearing his finished meal bowl and taking it out of the room. In Hanzhou, Muyun Yanshuang is seriously injured and unconscious. Shuofeng Heye places her under a tree, entrusting her care to Tie Duo while he goes alone to the river to find water. After Shuofeng Heye leaves, Muyun Yanshuang gradually regains consciousness.
She suddenly collapses and pleads with Tie Duo to kill her. Though Tie Duo dislikes Yanshuang, she refuses to harm a seriously injured person. Yanshuang, determined to die, provokes Tie Duo with words and, in a struggle or using all her strength, takes the dagger from Tie Duo's hand, accidentally or intentionally stabbing her own abdomen. Tie Duo is stunned.
Yanshuang then asks Tie Duo to tell Shuofeng Heye not to take her back to the Helan main camp, but faints again before finishing her words, pleading with Tie Duo to stop Shuofeng Heye. At this moment, Shuofeng Heye returns, witnesses the scene, and mistakenly believes Tie Duo has killed Muyun Yanshuang. Remembering a past promise, and despite Tie Duo's resistance, Shuofeng Heye decides to save Yanshuang at all costs.
He takes out his magic bell and summons Chi Lang, who appears with Hong Ling, reminding Shuofeng Heye that he can only summon them three times. Shuofeng Heye instructs Chi Lang to take Muyun Yanshuang back to the main camp. Tie Duo is shocked, stating that a respected Iron King is using a magic bell for an enemy woman, and tearfully tells Shuofeng Heye he will surely regret this decision.
Shuofeng Heye carries Muyun Yanshuang to Granny Dan Yao's tent, begging the granny, referred to as Amu, to heal Yanshuang's knife wound. Hong Ling then enters the tent, looking for Su He and asking if he remembers her.
In the Helan camp, Ziyan, despite Shuofeng Lan's obstruction, leads the Sucin tribe members out of the camp to leave the alliance, demanding that way be made for them and even whipping Shuofeng tribe members, intending to seek revenge against the Muru Iron Cavalry. Tie Yuan, having received news of the commotion, rushes to Ziyan, expressing disappointment.
He hopes Ziyan will immediately disperse the crowd and abandon the idea of leaving the alliance, stating that revenge is his concern and offering not to punish them if she complies. He asserts that only by following him can they defeat the Muru Iron Cavalry.
Ziyan refuses to listen or wait any longer, publicly questioning Tie Yuan's ability and stating that Tie Yuan only leads them to hide like rats and that she is unwilling to continue living a life of hiding and being trampled and humiliated by the Muru Iron Cavalry. Tie Yuan sincerely tells Ziyan that victory is not achieved through mere fighting, but by patiently waiting for the right opportunities, which is the only way they can succeed.
Ziyan scorns his words, spitting on him and calling him a coward and a timid person. She adamantly states that she refuses to continue waiting, asserting that their alliance, where they put aside hatred and stayed in this camp, was made with the expectation of rapid growth to fight the Muru Iron Cavalry. Instead, they have only waited to smile at and call "brother" the Helan and Shuofeng tribes, who slaughtered her people.
Ziyan proclaims she is unwilling to be idle or ally with her tribe's murderers, having never forgotten her hatred nor given up on the idea of revenge, and therefore intends to leave with the Sucin tribe. As the Sucin tribe makes its intention to leave clear, other allied tribes also begin to lose patience.
A Helan tribe soldier immediately shouts for Ziyan to pay "blood for blood" for his brother's life, but Tie Yuan intervenes, kicking the soldier away and then killing him. Tie Yuan declares that a scattered heart is the greatest taboo for a tribal alliance, warning everyone that anyone who still harbors hatred will not live past tomorrow.
To set an example and assert the Iron King's authority to calm the others, Tie Yuan hardens his heart, controls Ziyan, and prepares to kill her on the spot.
Holding Ziyan in his arms, Tie Yuan tells her with immense sadness that she is the woman he loves most in his life, but her mistake lies in wanting to be a chieftain when she should be a woman, and forgetting her identity as a woman when she should be a chieftain. Just as Tie Yuan is about to kill Ziyan, Shuofeng Heye appears.
