In Hanzhou, Tie Yuan had chosen a name for Ziyan's unborn child, the meaning of which deeply moved Ziyan. She embraced Tie Yuan, once again asking about their decisive battle against the Murun. Tie Yuan explained that the time was not yet optimal, as he awaited a "one-hit" opportunity, which was now close at hand.
However, the members of the Suqin tribe could no longer endure the prolonged wait, leading Ziyan, despite her reluctance, to harden her heart and steal the seal. She later departed from Tie Yuan's tent after he had fallen asleep. Elsewhere in Hanzhou, Shuofeng Heye, after a day and night of frantic travel, arrived at a Murun Iron Cavalry camp.
He found Muyun Yanshuang hanging from a tree and, despite being alone and outnumbered, he fought valiantly, sustaining injuries while carving a path through the Murun Iron Cavalry blocking his way. Tieduo arrived, aiding Shuofeng Heye in killing all the Murun Iron Cavalry in the camp and rescuing Muyun Yanshuang. She declared she would not watch him die, even if he did not like her.
Shuofeng Heye insisted on taking the severely injured Muyun Yanshuang back to the Helan main camp, recalling a promise he had made to her. Tieduo vehemently opposed this, believing Muyun Yanshuang was a trap and that taking her back would reveal their camp's location to the Murun Iron Cavalry who were actively searching for it. Unknown to Shuofeng Heye, his actions played directly into Hanshan's scheme to locate the Helan main camp using a tracking arrow.
At Kyushu Inn, Muyun De watched gladiatorial slave fights, expressing his dissatisfaction with the newly trained gladiators. He confronted Qin Yufeng about his previous act of privately releasing Mu Ruhanjiang, declaring him a traitor. Muyun De then removed Qin Yufeng from his position, ordering him to hand over the seal to Lan Yuer and appointed Lan Yuer as the new manager of Kyushu Inn. Lan Yuer was fearful, kneeling and stating her lack of capability for such a responsibility.
Muyun De sternly asked if she, too, intended to betray him, making his command non-negotiable. He then ordered Qin Yufeng to enter the gladiator arena. If Qin Yufeng could endure for the duration of one incense stick, he would be reinstated; otherwise, he could leave. Qin Yufeng, determined to fight for his life's work at the inn despite lacking martial arts skills, agreed.
However, he was quickly knocked unconscious by a blood-covered gladiator before even half an incense stick had passed. Muyun De showed no sympathy, his heart hardened by the betrayals of Nanku Yueli and Qin Yufeng. He desired Lan Yuer's unwavering loyalty, though she pleaded for Qin Yufeng's release. Lan Yuer, standing by, feared she might one day face similar abandonment and punishment from Muyun De.
Meanwhile, Nanku Yueli scorned the gold and jewels around her, feeling misunderstood about her true desires. Muyun De later visited Ji Yuncong, bringing her flowers, but she received him coldly. He informed her that he had kept Su Yuning. Ji Yuncong, who had made a prior deal with Muyun De, with letting Su Yuning go being part of their transaction, questioned Muyun De's purpose for Mu Ruhanjiang.
Muyun De did not elaborate, only stating that they were both heading in the same direction. Ji Yuncong sought to understand her own utility to Muyun De, but he appeared more interested in Long Jinhuan, pitying Ji Yuncong for not realizing Long Jinhuan's true value beyond merely killing. Su Yuning had been sharing a bed with Ji Yuncong. Upon waking, Su Yuning discovered Ji Yuncong still seemingly asleep and contemplated escaping.
However, Ji Yuncong was already awake and intentionally allowed Su Yuning to leave. She told Su Yuning to take some wound medicine from the table and to be careful on her journey. Su Yuning, feeling grateful, covered Ji Yuncong with the blanket, bowed deeply, and said her farewells, expressing uncertainty if they would ever meet again. As Su Yuning stepped out of the room, she immediately encountered Muyun De.
She stated that she didn't need to know his identity, only that he knew Mu Ruhanjiang's whereabouts. Muyun De did not disappoint; he led her to a prison cell, revealing that Mu Ruhanjiang had been severely wounded by his own brother while trying to save her. Su Yuning found Mu Ruhanjiang in the cell, gravely injured and unconscious, lying there lifelessly. Overwhelmed with guilt and sorrow, she cried, embracing him, and resolved never to leave him again.
She sat by his side, lit a candle, and spoke to him despite his unconscious state, recalling their past and her lonely wait in Yishui Village, where he had been her sole motivation. Lan Yuer then entered, bringing medicine, and instructed Su Yuning to keep Mu Ruhanjiang in a sitting position, as a doctor had advised it would help prevent blood clotting in his body.
Su Yuning took the medicine and fed it to him, confessing her deep love for him, a sentiment she had longed to express. She leaned against him, determined to face any future difficulties with him and believing he would surely recover.
