Mu Ruhanjiang arrived at Su Yuning's palace, intending to take her away from Tianqi City. Su Yuning's initial joy, upon learning that Mu Ruhanjiang was acting solely on Mu Yun's orders, quickly faded. She told him she would not leave until she found a sword tassel bracelet. Mu Ruhanjiang, who had indeed picked up the bracelet, remained silent and denied having it.
To avoid further delay, he forcibly carried the unwilling Su Yuning onto his horse and departed from the imperial palace. Meanwhile, in Hanbei, Shuofeng Heye and Su He reached Quafu's altar on a snow mountain after an arduous journey. Shuofeng Heye repeatedly looked back, hoping Muyun Yanshuang would follow.
Su He told him to stop thinking about Muyun Yanshuang, asserting that she wouldn't come because she didn't have him in her heart, especially since the secret art had been cast long ago and she hadn't followed. Disappointed, Shuofeng Heye followed Su He into the altar, deep within the snow mountain. After passing through a cave, they encountered a cliff. Su He knelt, chanting a spell to the sky. Then, he stepped onto the void, and a path miraculously appeared.
Shuofeng Heye followed Su He across the hovering stairs, through another cave, and down a final set of stairs, finally arriving at Quafu's sacred altar, which was also described as an underground palace. At the same time, Gu Songtuo, bringing fresh camel milk for Muyun Yanshuang at the Silver Armor Army camp, was informed by guards that the princess had left camp alone the previous night and had not returned.
Worried, Gu Songtuo immediately set out with his men towards the northwest to search for Muyun Yanshuang. Unbeknownst to them, Muyun Yanshuang, under the influence of the "True Love Forever" secret art, was riding alone and swiftly across the Hanbei grassland, following the path Shuofeng Heye had taken. Inside Quafu's altar, Su He knelt and chanted a secret spell, using a secret art to explore the altar's hidden mysteries.
He then presented the Snow Wolf King's heart, or alternatively, a blood jade, placing it before his eyes. Instantly, a blood-red light erupted, filling the white altar and causing the earth to tremble. The underground palace grew intensely dark before a three-hundred-year-old vision was revealed to Shuofeng Heye. Su He shouted "Return!" and phantoms of the Iron King and the Eight Tribes of Hanzhou appeared. Shuofeng Heye observed that the Iron King looked exactly like him.
The vision depicted the Iron King and the Eight Tribal Kings discussing strategies to confront the Muru cavalry. The Iron King revealed that the Muru and Muyun clans were once small side branches of the Shuofeng tribe within Hanzhou. They had stolen god-given horse breeds, or warhorses, from the black forest, secretly established cavalry, swept across Tianqi, and overthrown the Sheng Dynasty, thereby achieving their current status as rulers of the Central Plains.
Hanzhou was not only the homeland of the Eight Tribes but also the ancestral home of the Muyun clan, leading the Iron King to conclude that the Muru and Muyun would never abandon it. The Eight Tribal Kings declared Hanzhou was in immediate danger and pledged their allegiance to the Iron King, vowing to fight until their last breath.
Each king highlighted their tribe's unique advantages and specialized troops, expressing firm belief that with united efforts, they could overpower and defeat the Muru cavalry. Su He, watching the vision, pointed out to Shuofeng Heye that the Eight Tribes, with their diverse and unique skills, could form a powerful cavalry if reunited. During the tribal leaders' discussion, Ling Yufeng, an emissary from Muru and a priest of the Huangji Jingtian sect, arrived.
Su He explained that this was the person responsible for the eventual disintegration of the Hanzhou Eight Tribes. Ling Yufeng declared his ability to predict all futures, confidently stating that the war between the Hanzhou Eight Tribes and Muru Tiantong was destined to be lost. The Eight Tribal Kings expressed their displeasure.
Ling Yufeng then turned to the Danyao King, claiming knowledge of his tribe's secret: after battling Quafu, their blessing spells had turned into curses, rendering them unable to bring victory blessings to warriors or bear sons. This curse would persist for three hundred years, until a boy was born to a woman of their tribe in the Shuofeng tribe, after which the blessing spells could be used again.
The Danyao King, realizing his tribe's current helplessness, faced the Iron King with guilt. However, the Iron King reassured him, saying that regardless of secret arts, Danyao would always be his brother, and they still possessed brave and united warriors. Ling Yufeng continued to undermine the assembly, claiming to see not only the future but also lies. He asserted that the man before them was not the true Iron King.
He explained that Quafu had built the underground palace to hide the Volcano God Sword, and therefore, the true Iron King would be the one capable of drawing it. Ling Yufeng aimed to shake their faith, repeatedly stating that they had not witnessed the current Iron King pull the sword, urging them not to trust a mere shepherd.
He proclaimed that the world would ultimately belong to one individual, obtained by trampling over the corpses of all warriors in war, questioning why they should risk their entire tribe's lives for someone who might not be the true Iron King. Possessing the heart of a true warrior, the Iron King, to prevent Ling Yufeng from sowing further discord, agreed to Ling Yufeng's demand. He proceeded to pull the Royal Sword in front of everyone, intending to prove his legitimacy.
As he reinserted the sword into the volcanic opening, Ling Yufeng intervened again, demanding to personally inspect the sword. The Eight Tribal Kings, infuriated by Ling Yufeng's persistent doubts and disrespect towards Quafu's legacy, could not tolerate his demand. The Helan King angrily attacked Ling Yufeng. Despite suffering severe injuries from the Eight Tribal Kings' blows, Ling Yufeng remained resolute in his demand to inspect the sword.
Recognizing his courage, the Iron King, with a clear conscience, promised that if Ling Yufeng could reach the Royal Sword alive, he would allow him to inspect it on the spot. Ling Yufeng, enduring continuous punches and kicks from the Eight Tribal Kings, steadfastly advanced towards the Royal Sword. The Iron King honored his word, allowing him to examine it. However, as Ling Yufeng grasped the Royal Sword, he suddenly unleashed a secret art.
Using his blood, he cursed the Hanzhou Eight Tribes, proclaiming they would turn against each other over the iron sword and ultimately dissolve into scattered factions. Following this, Ling Yufeng transformed into a black phantom and vanished without a trace, his death implied. The Iron King, disdainful of Ling Yufeng's trickery, prepared to pull the Royal Sword once more. But before he could grasp it, the Helan King, consumed by selfishness, stabbed the Iron King from behind.
The Helan King coveted the sword, unwilling to remain merely a tribal king, desiring to become the king of the entire grassland and land. The Helan King's betrayal ignited similar selfish desires among the other seven tribal chiefs. In that moment, the self-interest of humanity was laid bare, as all eight tribal leaders began to fight each other fiercely for the Iron Royal Sword, yielding to no one, and ultimately, all perished in the ensuing conflict.
