Mo Yuchen, consumed by his lifelong pursuit of glory, explained to Muyun De his true intention: to fulfill Chenyue's centuries-old mission to become the "Supreme of Kyushu" by killing Muyun Sheng. Mo Yuchen believed Muyun Sheng to be a god, and his demise, facilitated by the "woman in the bead" summoning his true form, would mark the most glorious moment in Chenyue's history, a destiny Mo Yuchen was born to achieve.

Muyun De had questioned Mo Yuchen's motives, particularly why he would aid Muyun Sheng, whom Muyun De considered merely a fallen prince, while also helping Muyun De and his father, Muyun Luan. Mo Yuchen, holding the Illusion Bead, tearfully instructed Muyun De to promptly return it to Muyun Sheng, stating it was useless for Muyun De to possess it, as the woman within was meant exclusively for Muyun Sheng.

Early one morning, after Muyun Sheng awoke, Lan Yuer entered, tied the True Illusion Bead onto him, and then knelt to tender her resignation from the palace. Muyun Sheng initially thought she was joking, but her cold demeanor and insistent bowing conveyed her seriousness. When he asked for her reasons, Muyun De appeared, claiming Lan Yuer was leaving with him.

Lan Yuer clarified that while with Muyun Sheng she would always remain a lady-in-waiting, with Muyun De she felt like a woman. Though saddened, Muyun Sheng reluctantly granted her permission to leave. As she ground ink for him one last time, Lan Yuer reminisced about their dependent days in the palace, secretly wishing Muyun Sheng would ask her to stay. However, Muyun Sheng remained silent, leaving her heartbroken.

Muyun De, wiping water from her hands, reiterated a warning: anyone close to Muyun Sheng was destined to suffer misfortune. Muyun Sheng, turning his back, urged them to depart quickly. Soon after Lan Yuer and Muyun De left, Pan Xi materialized before Muyun Sheng. Tormented by Muyun De's ominous prophecy, Muyun Sheng deliberately adopted a cold demeanor toward Pan Xi, fearing he would bring disaster upon her.

Despite Pan Xi's intuition that his words were not genuine, she was deeply hurt. Muyun Sheng commanded her not to appear before him again, declaring he no longer wished to learn secret arts and cared nothing for curing his father Muyun Qin's illness. Heartbroken, Pan Xi complied with his request and bade him farewell. Unbeknownst to her, Muyun Sheng shed tears of relief as she departed, convinced that only by being away from him could Pan Xi remain safe.

In the Illusion Mirror, Pan Xi conversed with a voice, the Aragami, who called her naive and commanded her to harm Muyun Sheng and return to her original form, stating she was destined to accompany him. Pan Xi, having developed feelings for Muyun Sheng, refused to obey and inflict harm. The Aragami laughed, explaining that Pan Xi was merely a spirit he had dispatched to deal with Muyun Sheng, and should she disappear, he would simply send another slave.

The Aragami emphasized that her existence, or lack thereof, would not alter Muyun Sheng's fate, and when she refused, it attacked her with black mist. Meanwhile, Mu Ruhanjiang and Su Yuning were in a forest, where Su Yuning was gathering herbs (specifically, a bamboo forest). Mu Ruhanjiang, who had been following her, complimented her beauty, asserting that no other girl in the world was as beautiful, which made Su Yuning blush.

He harbored suspicions about the village they were in, Aishui Village, believing something strange was hidden underground. He noted that no new people had entered for days, and despite his inquiries, the villagers refused to provide any information. Su Yuning, expressing a hint of jealousy, brought up a girl named Xiao Ning who had brought Mu Ruhanjiang food, implying he had sought her out. Mu Ruhanjiang, sensing her jealousy, quickly reassured her that no other girl was prettier than her.

Su Yuning also found Aishui Village peculiar, observing that unlike other villages with socioeconomic disparities, every household there shared land and water equally, exhibiting no differences. Mu Ruhanjiang then showed her a paper bearing a symbol which Su Yuning recognized as a "clan emblem" that Wang Duo had mentioned; many families of different surnames in Aishui Village displayed this emblem in their homes.

Mu Ruhanjiang then picked a flower for Su Yuning, but she playfully suggested he should give it to Xiao Ning instead. Upon returning to the village, Muyun Lu, observing the growing closeness between Su Yuning and Mu Ruhanjiang, unhappily requested Su Yuning to accompany him for a walk, whether generally or specifically up a mountain. He then ordered Mu Ruhanjiang to find a horse.

However, Mu Ruhanjiang, citing his role as a protector and concern for their safety, insisted on accompanying them. Su Yuning felt a pang of disappointment, believing Mu Ruhanjiang was not following specifically for her. During their walk, Muyun Lu, who was still recovering from serious injuries, strained his wound. Mu Ruhanjiang ended up carrying Muyun Lu, and the three continued their journey.

During this time, they encountered an old man named Mr. Long (Long Jinhuan), whom they had previously saved, though they did not recognize him, he instantly recognized them. Concurrently, Long Jinhuan arrived in the village, initially searching for Wang Duo. On his way, he noticed Su Yuning and became intrigued by her. Upon meeting Long Jinhuan, Wang Duo immediately knelt, revealing that Long Jinhuan was his father and the leader of the Tianluo Shantang, also known as Tianshui Shantang, sect.

Wang Duo presented the Tianluo Daosi, a symbol of the sect leader, to Long Jinhuan, pledging his and his brothers' loyalty and readiness to be commanded. Wang Duo explained that after a battle years ago, he had led his sect brothers to settle in Aishui Village for six years, awaiting Long Jinhuan's return. Long Jinhuan inquired about the village's anomalies and the presence of strangers.

Wang Duo reported that Muyun Lu and Mu Ruhanjiang had been injured by Jifeng Jia and stated his intention to thoroughly investigate their identities and backgrounds. As part of this investigation, Wang Duo later secretly entered Muyun Lu's room and found his personal jade pendant. Later, as Muyun Lu, Mu Ruhanjiang, and Su Yuning walked by the river, Mu Ruhanjiang, convinced of Aishui Village's dangerous abnormality, decided they should leave soon for Muyun Lu's safety.

Muyun Lu, acknowledging Su Yuning's extensive knowledge, asked her to compose a poem for him. She compared him to bamboo in her poem, praising his non-confrontational nature. Mu Ruhanjiang, however, argued that this was "bookish" and believed Muyun Lu would fight fiercely when the moment came. Muyun Lu countered that he would never relinquish what was rightfully his, but would not contend for what was not. Seeing their interest, Mu Ruhanjiang also asked Su Yuning for a poem.

She smiled and compared him to a crab. Although initially displeased with the comparison, Mu Ruhanjiang's face lit up with a smile upon hearing Su Yuning liked crabs. During a subsequent rest, Muyun Lu sat beside Su Yuning, bringing up her star destiny and confessing his feelings.

He declared that if she believed in destiny, he would fight for the world for her; if she did not, he would stay by her side and provide her with a lifetime of stability. Mu Ruhanjiang overheard this and interjected that it was not the appropriate time for romance. Muyun Lu reaffirmed his sincerity, claiming he could offer Su Yuning a better life than Mu Ruhanjiang. However, Su Yuning's gaze remained steadily fixed on Mu Ruhanjiang.
