Zhou Yuan arrived at Yimi Capital to address the employees who had remained with the company. He expressed his gratitude for their loyalty and contributions, bowing deeply as he apologized for the difficulties he had caused. He told them that many things had transpired with both him and Yimi Capital, and he was deeply sorry for letting them down.

He stated that while running a company was a mission in his life, he had made mistakes and now needed to take responsibility, promising that any remaining funds after the company's liquidation would be distributed as severance pay. He urged them to be proud of themselves and face life bravely, adding that he was also proud of his decision today to stop and reflect on the issues.

Following his public apology, Zhou Yuan met with Mi Lu and presented her with divorce papers. He apologized for making her lose their home, but Mi Lu insisted that material possessions didn't matter as long as their family remained together. She firmly refused to sign, stating she wouldn't abandon him, especially when he was struggling, and that they had faced countless challenges together since childhood. She offered to stand by him and endure the consequences together.

However, Zhou Yuan, determined to push her away, coldly declared that he had never loved her; she was merely a substitute, a partner he needed only until An Yu re-entered his life. He cruelly dismissed their shared past and handed her a bank card, stating he wanted nothing more to do with her and their relationship was over. He then walked away, shedding tears once he was out of sight.

Su Dayong visited Fang Li at the hospital, proudly bringing the last shrimp wonton, along with a meat one, which they playfully shared, their relationship clearly deepening. He then seriously asked if her emotional statement in Nankou Village about parents contemplating death with their children reflected her own thoughts. Fang Li admitted that after Fangfang's accident, she had indeed felt overwhelmed and contemplated everything, but she "bore the ordeal and made it through."

Su Dayong, heartbroken by her past suffering, confessed he wished he had met her sooner to support her and Fangfang. He promised to be there for her always, sharing her burdens, and never leaving, even if she tried to push him away. As they talked, Fangfang's finger moved, prompting them to excitedly call for a doctor. An Yu and Shao Moli were resting after finally getting Yiyi to sleep, with Shao Moli remarking on how tiring childcare was.

A courier then delivered a package containing a child custody modification agreement and a share proxy agreement, both sent by Zhou Yuan. An Yu, surprised, called Zhou Yuan, who was at the police station, in the process of turning himself in. Zhou Yuan confirmed he had transferred Yiyi's full custody to An Yu and entrusted Yiyi to her care, assuring her that Yiyi, being connected by a mother-child bond, would soon accept her as his mother.

He also explained that Zhuoyue's shares, which he had transferred to her, rightfully belonged to her given her father's past help to his own, and he believed she would make them more valuable. He apologized to An Yu and her father for everything and stated he would confess all to the police and accept his due punishment. Later, An Yu visited her father's grave with Shao Moli, offering a cigarette and wine, breaking tradition for the good news.

She tearfully informed her father that the truth about the past had come to light, thanks to a letter from Mr. Xiao, which also prompted Zhou Yuan to stop his wrongful path and surrender. She expressed hope that he would reform and reassured her father that Yiyi was back with her, though he needed time to adjust. An Yu promised to be a good mother and vowed to bring Yiyi to call him "Grandpa" when he was older and understood.

She concluded, saying, "Dad, it is over." After the custody transfer was finalized, with An Yu now Yiyi's legal guardian, An Yu went to pick him up from kindergarten. Yiyi, however, was distraught, insisting he would wait for his "daddy and mommy" and refusing to go with An Yu, despite her explanation that his parents were busy. To ease his distress, Shao Moli appeared dressed as the "Dark Knight," a character Yiyi adored.

Yiyi was thrilled to see the Dark Knight, who invited him for fries, and they happily left together, much to the relief of An Yu. Unknown to them, Mi Lu watched the scene from a distance. At the fast-food restaurant, another child pulled off Shao Moli's Dark Knight mask. Yiyi, seeing it was Shao Moli, screamed, called him a "bad guy," and ran away, feeling betrayed. Mi Lu, deeply pained by Yiyi's reaction, sought legal advice from a friend.

Despite being a lawyer herself, she wanted an objective opinion on her chances of regaining custody. Her friend informed her that while not entirely impossible, the chances were very slim, given the recent custody change, Zhou Yuan's current situation, and An Yu being Yiyi's biological mother. Nonetheless, Mi Lu vowed to fight for custody, no matter the cost, even if there was only a minimal chance.

Later that evening, after Yiyi was finally asleep, An Yu and Shao Moli found a rare moment of quiet. Shao Moli wondered how to win Yiyi over, to which An Yu replied that time, patience, and mutual tolerance would help them adapt and coexist. They realized it had been a long time since they had a proper date, and Shao Moli promised to arrange one soon.

An Yu then shared her plan to sell a portion of her Zhuoyue shares to buy back the old house, believing that returning to the familiar environment where he grew up would provide Yiyi with much-needed security. Shao Moli readily agreed, suggesting they plan the move carefully. Meanwhile, Mi Lu was living in humble conditions. When her former assistant, Ding, visited and offered to find her a better place and send her food, she politely refused.

Instead, she thanked him for his loyalty and service over the years, giving him six months' severance pay and encouraging him to find a new job, a girlfriend, and start his own family, before dismissing him citing her own work. An Yu soon bought back the old house and moved in. However, Yiyi remained sad, repeatedly asking for his "daddy and mommy" and his favorite toy, Bumblebee.

Even the familiar surroundings of the old house couldn't lift his spirits, as he had hoped to see his mother there. Mi Lu then came to visit the old house, begging An Yu for more frequent visits with Yiyi. An Yu agreed to allow visits every Saturday, subtly refusing more frequent contact, explaining that Yiyi needed time to adjust to his new environment.

When Yiyi saw Mi Lu, he rushed to hug her, crying and pleading with her not to leave. Mi Lu, also in tears, comforted him, telling him that "daddy and mommy" had important work to do but would return once finished, asking him to be a good boy and listen to Miss An. She hugged him tightly, promising she would never abandon him, even if the whole world did.
