Timeless Love Episode 4 Recap
> Timeless Love Recap
Jiang Dian arrived home to find a cake on the table, which reminded him that it was his mother's birthday. He quickly sent her a text message wishing her well. His mother replied, telling him to look at the study abroad information on the table and decide on a university today, informing her of his choice tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Pei Xiaoyun was leading the Business School students in rehearsals for the upcoming Linxi University anniversary, but their performance was far from satisfactory. She stopped the rehearsal, frustrated by the lack of rhythm, specifically calling out Lian Ruoshen and Lu Bie for not coordinating. Lian Ruoshen blamed Lu Bie, who in turn pointed out issues with both Lian Ruoshen and Chai Jin.
Pei Xiaoyun stressed the importance of the college anniversary event for group honor and academic credits, but her students felt lost without proper guidance in dance. Jiang Dian then appeared with his cello, offering to play accompaniment. Lu Bie suggested his sister, Cheng Feng, who was a skilled dancer, might be able to offer professional guidance, though he doubted she would perform on stage. Pei Xiaoyun decided to ask Cheng Feng for help.
When some students offered Jiang Dian milky tea, he declined. Pei Xiaoyun went to the Half-Moon Book Cafe to appeal to Cheng Feng, her close friend. She spoke passionately about her students’ efforts and her own renewed sense of youthful enthusiasm since becoming their teacher, hoping to convince Cheng Feng to assist. Cheng Feng listened silently and, after Pei Xiaoyun's appeal, accepted a drink from her, remaining noncommittal.
Later, a heated argument erupted in the rehearsal hall between the Business School students and students from the civil engineering department. The civil engineering students mocked the Business School's performance, calling it "rubbish" and claiming it was their designated time for the hall, telling them to leave. Lian Ruoshen retorted, and a full-blown fight broke out. Amidst the chaos, Jiang Dian calmly played his cello. Pei Xiaoyun received a phone call about the incident and rushed back to school.
At the dean's office, the civil engineering advisor unfairly blamed Pei Xiaoyun for her students' behavior, criticizing her youth and inexperience. Lian Ruoshen defended Pei Xiaoyun, stating that the civil engineering students had initiated the provocation. The advisor then disparaged Pei Xiaoyun's students, calling them "hopeless students." Pei Xiaoyun, incensed, fiercely defended her students, pointing out that the civil engineering teacher had failed to lead by example and was unfairly judging them. The civil engineering advisor threatened disciplinary action.
A male teacher, Dean Chen, received a phone call and then asked Jiang Dian to report to Professor Chen. Pei Xiaoyun then confidently led her students away, daring the civil engineering teacher to blame her directly. Lian Ruoshen, elated by Pei Xiaoyun’s assertive stance, enthusiastically picked her up and spun her around. Bolstered by their teacher's support, the Business School students became even more determined to excel at the anniversary event.
To secure Cheng Feng's participation, Lian Ruoshen, Lu Bie, and two other students approached her with flowers, earnestly pleading for her help. They emphasized the extraordinary significance of the anniversary competition, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in their college careers. They expressed a strong desire to prove that Class Six of Business School were not "hopeless students" or "troublemakers" who only caused problems for Pei Xiaoyun, who had recently been looked down upon by other teachers because of them.
They vowed to give their all and do whatever Cheng Feng asked, requesting that she take a night to consider their proposal. The next day, the students waited anxiously in the rehearsal room, with Lu Bie expressing doubts about Cheng Feng's attendance. An older teacher, Ms. An, hobbled by on crutches, deliberately taking a tumble at the door before moving on to deliver a gift to Dean Chen.
Just as the students began to lose hope, Cheng Feng appeared at the door, agreeing to help. Pei Xiaoyun tried to explain Jiang Dian’s unexpected presence in the group, but Cheng Feng simply brushed it off. Cheng Feng then asked the students to showcase their talents. Among them were a jazz dancer, a singer who declared himself the "King Singer," Li Zikun who played guitar, and Lu Bie, who confidently called himself the "Piano Prince."
Jiang Dian also displayed his cello skills. Pei Xiaoyun, impressed by Jiang Dian’s multifaceted talents, remarked that he was a "treasure boy" with nothing he couldn't do, adding that he and Cheng Feng were well-matched, as excellent people should be together.
Cheng Feng observed everyone’s talents and then outlined the performance order: Chai Jin would perform a solo dance with Lu Bie on piano for the first act, while Lian Ruoshen would be the lead singer, accompanied by Li Zikun on guitar and Lu Bie on piano for the second act. When asked about Jiang Dian’s role, Cheng Feng assigned him the cello performance for the opening, linking the entire show.
Lian Ruoshen, genuinely impressed by Lu Bie’s piano playing, jokingly offered him brotherhood. Cheng Feng then demonstrated a dance, providing some inspiration for the students. As she danced, Ms. An and Dean Chen passed by; Ms. An complimented Cheng Feng’s dancing but harbored malicious thoughts. Throughout the demonstration, Jiang Dian was captivated, watching Cheng Feng with deep affection. After the training session, Cheng Feng left, telling Pei Xiaoyun that she was tired and would take a rain check on dinner.
Shortly after Cheng Feng departed, a continuous beeping sound blared over the broadcast system. Jiang Dian rushed out after her and found her in the corridor, disoriented and about to collapse from an auditory hallucination. He managed to catch her, cushioning her fall. Cheng Feng asked if he was concerned about her, to which he replied he would do the same for anyone.
She then feigned injuries to her arm and leg, asking him to treat her as he would anyone else. Jiang Dian helped her to the infirmary, where the nurse noticed Cheng Feng's poor mental state, attributing it to insomnia and potential relationship troubles. Cheng Feng left abruptly, and Jiang Dian followed her. Upon seeing an elevator, Cheng Feng again felt dizzy and unwell. That night, she suffered from nightmares involving elevators and struggled with insomnia.
Determined to help, Jiang Dian extensively researched remedies for insomnia. He sent Cheng Feng a package containing yogurt, a banana, and milk, along with a paper airplane. The plane carried a message, but Cheng Feng, dismissive, crumpled it and threw it away. Undeterred, Jiang Dian sent another paper airplane during a rehearsal, with a message expressing his desire to bring warmth to her night. Cheng Feng later attempted to fold a similar paper airplane herself but failed.
He then obtained photos of Cheng Feng's childhood from Lu Bie. Jiang Dian then enlisted Lu Bie and Lian Ruoshen to secretly redecorate Cheng Feng's room, transforming it into the pink-themed, Barbie-filled room of her childhood, hoping to help her sleep better by recreating a comforting scene. To keep Cheng Feng occupied, a friend named Xuedong feigned acute gastroenteritis and had Cheng Feng take him to the hospital, stalling for hours.
By the time they returned, his fabricated illness was exposed. Lu Bie attempted to intercept Cheng Feng downstairs, but she sensed something amiss. Lu Bie and Xuedong, fearing repercussions, quickly fled. When Cheng Feng returned to her room, she was confronted by the sight of her childhood room, identical in every detail, complete with numerous Barbie dolls. The recreated scene unexpectedly triggered deeply sensitive memories of her mother and their warm family home, causing her immense distress and anger.
Jiang Dian and Lian Ruoshen, emerging to reveal their "surprise," were met with Cheng Feng's fury. An awkward Lian Ruoshen quickly excused himself, leaving Jiang Dian alone to face an enraged Cheng Feng.
