Cheng Feng visited Baoling in the hospital, where Baoling broke down, lamenting how badly she had lost. She confessed that despite preparing herself to face anything, seeing Lian Ruoshen abandon her for Yun without hesitation caused her indescribable pain. Her heart ached terribly, feeling that all her efforts had ultimately become a joke. Cheng Feng asked Baoling if she regretted loving so intensely and with such difficulty.
Baoling turned the question back to Cheng Feng, who affirmed that such love, no matter how hard, was worth it. Cheng Feng then mentioned she had gone to see Zhou Yao that day. This news fueled Jiang Dian's existing suspicions, leading to new misunderstandings. However, when he greeted Cheng Feng at home, he kept his feelings to himself, offering to run a bath for her with unusual sweetness.
Meanwhile, at the Dancing Stars Conference, Zhou Yao was in his lounge when Pang Ting appeared to confront him. A flashback revealed that Pang Ting had earlier overheard and recorded a conversation where Zhou Yao deflected blame onto her while speaking to their boss, DK, and asked to have her fired. This betrayal prompted her to seek revenge.
In the lounge, Zhou Yao, enraged that she had recorded him, called Pang Ting a devious woman and demanded her phone, but she revealed she had numerous backups. Pang Ting then unleashed a torrent of accusations, detailing how Zhou Yao had feigned an affectionate persona to secure the HA endorsement, leading his fans to attack Cheng Feng online, only for him to pretend to be a good person afterward.
Knowing he was nothing without Cheng Feng's choreography, he had used every possible method to trap her, implicating her in the house sale and Lian Ruoshen's situation. Pang Ting then revealed that their entire conversation had been broadcast outside through a transmitter, making the whole world aware of Zhou Yao’s deceit. Amidst the chaos, DK, humiliated by the revelations, tried to leave the venue.
However, a woman publicly accused him of exploiting her and many others through his power in the industry, labeling him a monster. DK attempted to assault the woman, but Baoling and Cheng Feng intervened. The police soon arrived and arrested DK. As he was being led away, DK realized that Baoling and Cheng Feng had orchestrated his downfall. With his reputation in ruins, Zhou Yao was mobbed by the media.
Seeing her plan accomplished, Pang Ting contacted the police and confessed to being the mastermind behind the plot to poison Cheng Feng. Baoling found satisfaction in DK and Zhou Yao’s predicament. Zhou Yao, however, confronted Cheng Feng, accusing her of ruining his life. Jiang Dian swiftly stepped in to protect Cheng Feng and was beaten by a furious Zhou Yao. Security guards restrained Zhou Yao, and after Baoling and Cheng Feng reported the assault, the police subsequently arrested him.
Earlier, Lian Ruoshen had rushed to the airport to stop Yun, but he arrived too late. He then traveled to Yun’s hometown to visit her. Yun commented that she preferred his former, more energetic self. Lian Ruoshen confessed that Yun had once been his faith, but now she could only exist in his heart. He admitted he had liked her but realized it too late, thus missing his chance.
Acknowledging that they couldn't go back, Lian Ruoshen returned a bank card to Yun, formally bidding her farewell. Jiang Dian’s mother, Chen Huiyun, called him home, threatening to kill herself if he didn’t return. Upon his arrival, he found his mother and father, Jiang Yi, embroiled in a heated argument. Jiang Dian questioned why they didn’t divorce. Chen Huiyun staunchly refused, unwilling to let Jiang Yi use her hard-earned money to support his mistress.
Jiang Yi, leveraging his control over the Jiang Corporation, threatened Chen Huiyun and raised his hand to strike her. Jiang Dian intervened, protecting his mother and warning his father that if he dared to hit her, neither he nor his mistress would have an easy life. Jiang Yi, furious, stormed out. Chen Huiyun then turned her bitter words on Jiang Dian, accusing him of not caring about his inheritance, despite her fighting for it, and being obsessed with Cheng Feng.
Jiang Dian urged her not to project her failed marriage onto others. Chen Huiyun expressed regret for marrying Jiang Yi and letting him control her assets, wishing she had never given birth to Jiang Dian. Jiang Dian, equally hurt, retorted that he wished he wasn't her child either. Following the acrimonious argument with his mother, Jiang Dian sought comfort at Cheng Feng's book café but hesitated to enter. Cheng Feng spotted him and brought him inside.
Jiang Dian clung to Cheng Feng, then, overwhelmed by his emotions, uncontrollably kissed her. He erupted in a desperate rant, accusing her of not needing him and questioning her recent actions concerning Zhou Yao. Cheng Feng was hurt by his emotional outburst. Jiang Dian, realizing his mistake, explained that he had stopped taking his medication, which was why he couldn’t control his emotions, believing his illness was the only thing keeping her from leaving.
Cheng Feng grew angrier, chastising him for discontinuing his treatment. She told him she could support him through his recovery, but she was a person, not his medication, and she got hurt too. Feeling utterly exhausted, she confessed she no longer had the strength to love him. Jiang Dian pleaded with her not to give up on him, despairing that everyone else had. Later, Jiang Dian, Lian Ruoshen, and Lu Bie met for drinks.
Lian Ruoshen spoke of escaping reality by traveling to Africa, which made Jiang Dian feel even more abandoned. The three friends toasted to their "terrible youth," and Lian Ruoshen, smiling, began to cry. The next morning, Chen Huiyun arrived at Cheng Feng's book café with bodyguards and began trashing the place. A staff member, distressed, called Jiang Dian for help. Cheng Feng bravely confronted Chen Huiyun, while her staff, concerned for her safety, stayed to support her.
