Timeless Love Recap

Episode 1 Recap

During his youthful years, Jiang Dian found himself deeply in love with someone. He reflected on her quiet nature, noting that while she rarely smiled, her smile was beautiful. Though she preferred stillness, her movements were captivating. She appeared indifferent, yet underneath, she possessed a profound gentleness. This woman, akin to a cat, entered his life, driving away his solitude, curing his strong beliefs, and warming his entire youth.

The university broadcast announced an upcoming welfare activity, jointly organized by the freshmen of the Business School and Half-Moon Book Cafe, to be held this Wednesday at the Second Welfare House. Lian Ruoshen found Jiang Dian relaxing on his balcony and tried to persuade him to join the Business School's team. He expressed a desire to experience the excitement of being led by a capable player like Jiang Dian, but Jiang Dian simply replied that he was not interested.

Lian Ruoshen, feeling rejected, urged him to reconsider, emphasizing the importance of the Business School's reputation. Later, Lian Ruoshen woke Jiang Dian, reminding him it was time for work. On their way to work by motorcycle, Lian Ruoshen began to feel nauseous, confessing he wanted to vomit. When Jiang Dian asked if he was okay, Lian Ruoshen lamented his unusual "motorcycle sickness" compared to common car or seasickness.

He told Jiang Dian to go to work alone while he returned home. Soon after, they encountered a group of thugs robbing and beating a university student, Lu Bie. Jiang Dian initially declared that no one would dare harm students from their university, but upon seeing the large number of thugs, he attempted to de-escalate the situation by pretending to be drunk. Lian Ruoshen urged Jiang Dian to retreat immediately.

However, Lu Bie pointed to Lian Ruoshen's limited-edition sneakers, claiming he was rich. Enraged, Lian Ruoshen called Lu Bie a betrayer. The thugs demanded all valuables. Lian Ruoshen defiantly stated he could lose his head and blood but not his shoes. During the ensuing scuffle, one of the thugs acknowledged Jiang Dian and Lian Ruoshen as the "double kill" of their university, though Lian Ruoshen preferred being called the "Wolves of Linxi University."

The thug leader dismissed their titles and threatened them. Jiang Dian then bluffed, claiming the police had been called and were on their way. The thugs were momentarily startled, but one realized it was a trick. Nevertheless, they scattered and ran. While fleeing from the thugs, Jiang Dian took refuge in the Half-Moon Book Cafe. There, he saw Cheng Feng performing a solo dance and was instantly captivated, falling deeply in love with her.

The next day, Jiang Dian received a phone call from someone asking if he had decided to join the physics contest. Jiang Dian said he would give an answer in person, prompting the caller to say not to bother seeing them if he refused. Later, Lu Bie, grateful for their help the previous night, invited Jiang Dian and Lian Ruoshen to the Half-Moon Book Cafe, which was owned by his older cousin, Cheng Feng.

Upon arriving, Jiang Dian was astonished to realize that Cheng Feng was the enchanting dancer he had seen the night before. Lu Bie playfully warned Jiang Dian not to stare at Cheng Feng, describing her as a thorny rose. Cheng Feng, noticing Jiang Dian and Lu Bie bickering, told them to take their fight outside. Lu Bie tried to appeal to Cheng Feng, reminding her of their family connection, but Cheng Feng coolly stated they weren't close.

While Lian Ruoshen and Lu Bie got into a drinking contest, Jiang Dian tried to engage Cheng Feng in conversation, suggesting that a Martini would taste better with sea salt and lemon. He then offered her a drink, which she politely declined, stating she didn't like what he liked. Jiang Dian asked if he could have it if she didn't want it, and she agreed only if he accepted it as her treat.

Meanwhile, Lian Ruoshen and Lu Bie, now quite drunk, were bonding and decided to become sworn brothers. At that moment, a staff member informed Cheng Feng that the locksmith couldn't come to fix a broken lock. Jiang Dian offered to help, stating he had experience with locks. After Jiang Dian successfully fixed the lock, Cheng Feng instructed the staff to pay him, but Jiang Dian declined the payment.

Suddenly, a student rushed in, informing a half-asleep Lian Ruoshen that Ms. Pei, their assistant teacher, was on her way. Lian Ruoshen quickly tried to hide the wine bottles as Ms. Pei entered, with the two feigning interest in studying. Ms. Pei confronted them for drinking during class hours. Lian Ruoshen attempted to deflect by complimenting her, but Ms. Pei insisted on being called "Ms. Pei" and ordered him to write a 4,000-character self-criticism report.

When Lian Ruoshen protested, Ms. Pei increased the penalty to 6,000 characters. She then questioned Jiang Dian, who confirmed he was doing homework with them. Ms. Pei reminded him that Lian Ruoshen struggled for three years to get into university and advised Jiang Dian not to spoil him. After Ms. Pei finished scolding the students, she confided in Cheng Feng, expressing her frustration with their class, especially Lian Ruoshen. She wished for more students like Jiang Dian—smart, handsome, and well-behaved.

Cheng Feng, however, coolly commented that Ms. Pei had poor judgment. Later, Ms. Pei urged Cheng Feng to join her and Dai Baoling, another close friend, for a night out. Cheng Feng eventually agreed. At the bar, Dai Baoling, busy with her agent work, met up with them. She remarked on the number of attractive waiters and pointed out Jiang Dian, the bartender, whose eyes seemed fixed on Cheng Feng.

Cheng Feng, however, declared her disinterest in "younger guys," questioning if their attention was genuine affection or merely an attempt to flirt. Ms. Pei then brought up Cheng Feng's past as an award-winning dancer and wondered why she had stopped. Dai Baoling quickly intervened, attributing Ms. Pei's intrusive questions to her being drunk and offered to take her home, leaving Cheng Feng to drink alone for a bit longer.

As Jiang Dian wiped tables near Cheng Feng, she confronted him, calling it impolite to stare at a drunk woman. On her way home from the bar, Cheng Feng was accosted by a thug. Jiang Dian, who also worked at the bar, intervened to rescue her. However, she reacted coldly to his help. He escorted her home, and she thanked him dismissively before telling him to go no further.

Episode 2 Recap

Cheng Feng rejected Jiang Dian's confession. Jiang Dian returned home dejected, only to face a cold reception from his mother, Chen Huiyun, who was solely concerned with his business studies. Meanwhile, Cheng Feng, still haunted by nightmares stemming from her claustrophobia, noticed a suspicious figure lurking outside her book cafe. During a charity event at a welfare home, co-organized by the business school and Cheng Feng’s Half Moon Book Cafe, Cheng Feng and Jiang Dian crossed paths again.

Lian Ruoshen, observing Jiang Dian’s obvious affection for Cheng Feng, decided to play matchmaker. He orchestrated a plan for Cheng Feng and Jiang Dian to retrieve light bulbs from the warehouse, creating an opportunity for them to be alone. Lian Ruoshen first got Cheng Feng to the warehouse, then feigned a stomachache, telling her, "I suddenly have a stomachache. I need to go to the bathroom. Can you go there first?"

He then convinced Jiang Dian to go to the warehouse in his stead, saying, "I have loose bowels. Can you go to the warehouse and take out the small light bulbs instead of me? Over there." Once both were inside, Lian Ruoshen locked the door. However, the dark, enclosed space triggered Cheng Feng's claustrophobia. Jiang Dian, witnessing her distress, tried to calm her, instructing, "Look at me, Cheng Feng! Listen to me. There is no sound at all.

I’ll find someone." But Cheng Feng clung to him, pleading, "Don’t go! Don’t leave me!" Jiang Dian reassured her, "Don’t worry! I’m always here." He held her until Pei Xiaoyun arrived to rescue them. Pei Xiaoyun chastised Lian Ruoshen for his reckless actions, stating, "Chengcheng suffers from claustrophobia. How can you do this to her?" She also admonished Jiang Dian.

Cheng Feng, convinced that Jiang Dian had orchestrated the incident, confronted him at her cafe, displaying security footage of him previously sneaking into her shop. She warned him sternly, "I thought you were just a spoiled child. Now I know that I’ve underestimated you." She demanded he stay away, declaring, "I don’t care about what reason you have. Please stay away from me! I’m afraid of troubles. And I don’t want to get into trouble!"

Despite her anger, Jiang Dian bravely confessed his feelings once more, stating, "But I want. I like you." Cheng Feng, however, rejected him, questioning the sincerity of his affections given their brief acquaintance: "Like? How do you like me? Do you like my face? Do you like my stature? Or do you want to sleep with me? We’ve just seen each other several times. Do you know about me? But you said you liked me.

You had a sudden feeling, but you thought we were true love. Don’t you think you are being ridiculous?" She emphatically stated her disinterest in "flirting with him," adding, "I don’t have the time and I’m not interested in flirting with you. I have no feeling for a younger man," and told him to leave. Jiang Dian, though hurt, insisted on his seriousness, proclaiming, "I’ve never been in love. I don’t know how it feels to love someone.

But I know the feeling of disappointment. It’s not my sudden feeling. I’ll prove it to you." Dejected, Jiang Dian returned home. His mother, before leaving on a business trip, expressed unusual concern about his health, asking if he was ill. Jiang Dian, accustomed to solitude, curtly replied. He spent the evening watching videos of Cheng Feng winning international dance awards.

Later, his mother brought him medicine, reminding him to focus on his upcoming IELTS exam for overseas study and to "Don’t think about the useless things every day." In an act of rebellion, Jiang Dian poured out the medicine and retrieved a paper airplane model he had discarded. Seeking another form of defiance against his mother's plans, Jiang Dian agreed to a professor's previous invitation to join a competition and transfer out of the business school.

The professor encouraged him, saying, "Young man, life is actually very short. If you see something you like, you must grasp it firmly in hand. Otherwise, you will regret missing the opportunity." Jiang Dian took these words to heart and resolved to continue pursuing Cheng Feng. Cheng Feng's book cafe windows were vandalized with derogatory messages in red paint. Lu Bie, informed of the incident by Xuedong, rushed to the cafe with Jiang Dian and Lian Ruoshen to help.

Cheng Feng reported the vandalism to the police, who arrived to take a statement. The three young men diligently assisted with cleaning the windows. Part-time staff members offered to stay, but Cheng Feng reassured them that she was fine and sent them home. Lian Ruoshen theorized that the vandal was "crazily in love" with Cheng Feng and sought attention.

He mentioned seeing a "sneaky man" near the cafe a few days prior but had dismissed him as a harmless admirer, a detail Jiang Dian absorbed intently. To avoid feeling indebted, Cheng Feng offered the trio cash for their assistance. Lu Bie readily accepted his and Lian Ruoshen’s share, leading to a brief squabble between them. Jiang Dian, however, declined the cash, instead offering Cheng Feng a QR code.

When she noted it was a friend code, he cheekily explained, "Because I want a red envelope from you." Cheng Feng ignored his attempt to connect, maintaining her distance. Undeterred, Jiang Dian continued his pursuit, secretly placing a pink paper airplane into Cheng Feng's money bag. He then canceled his night shift to stake out her book cafe, watching over her from afar.

The police later called Cheng Feng to inform her that they had identified the vandal as a young woman. The girl had mistakenly believed Cheng Feng was her boyfriend's "secret lover" after finding Cheng Feng's photos and videos on his phone, and had acted out of anger. The police had criticized and educated her. Cheng Feng remained indifferent to the news and discarded Jiang Dian's paper airplane before closing the cafe for the night.

As Cheng Feng walked home, a woman dressed in black began following her. Jiang Dian, still keeping watch, intervened and apprehended the stalker. However, Cheng Feng once again coldly rejected his protection, telling him, "Just because you want to do it, doesn't mean I need it." The woman in black later revealed her motive was revenge, claiming Cheng Feng had "hurt my brother" and caused her best friend's detention, vowing to still get even.

The next day, Lian Ruoshen, beaming about scoring 48 on a test (double his previous score of 24), asked Jiang Dian to record a video for his father to boast and secure double his pocket money. Pei Xiaoyun arrived, unimpressed, and promptly dragged Lian Ruoshen away for tutoring. Later, Dai Baoling brought three handsome young male talents to the book cafe for Cheng Feng's appraisal.

When Jiang Dian unexpectedly appeared, Cheng Feng deliberately paid attention to the young men, wiping their faces, which visibly annoyed Jiang Dian. He pulled Cheng Feng away from them, telling her not to wipe their foreheads. Dai Baoling observed their interaction and playfully suggested that Jiang Dian and Cheng Feng "are matching each other. A wild wolf and a wild cat are a perfect match."

However, she quickly added her opinion that dating a younger man was tiring, like "raising a son." Pei Xiaoyun then brought up the book cafe vandalism again. Cheng Feng explained it as a misunderstanding with a girl who believed she was her boyfriend's secret lover.

Dai Baoling then shared a relevant piece of information: Cheng Feng's ex-boyfriend, the celebrity Zhou Yao, had recently given an interview where he "behaved as if he was deeply in love," portraying himself as a heartbroken romantic. Dai Baoling speculated this interview might have incited the vandalism by his "fangirls." Meanwhile, Lu Bie revealed to Jiang Dian and Lian Ruoshen that Cheng Feng's ex-boyfriend was indeed the famous star Zhou Yao.

He expressed confusion over their sudden breakup, and described Zhou Yao as "shining among the people. He was handsome and he studied very well." Lu Bie added that Zhou Yao had pursued Cheng Feng passionately, writing love letters, and even enrolling in the same music school as her when she went abroad. He noted that Cheng Feng was already well-known in the dance world at that time, accumulating resources through international tours, but quit dancing after their breakup.

Lian Ruoshen acknowledged that Jiang Dian faced a significant challenge in trying to "warm up her heart." Feeling the weight of this new information, Jiang Dian went to the book cafe, found Cheng Feng, and once more pinned her against the wall. He directly questioned her about her ex-boyfriend Zhou Yao, asking if her rejection was because she hadn't forgotten him. Cheng Feng reiterated her stance: "I have no feeling for you, a younger man.

But it doesn’t mean that I have no feeling for other younger men." She deliberately provoked him, asking if he felt "very uncomfortable here," and warned him again, "Therefore, stop bothering me!" She then pushed him out of the cafe.

Episode 3 Recap

After being harassed by Zhou Yao's fans, Cheng Feng was once again protected by Jiang Dian. Annoyed by his impulsive actions and disregard for his own safety, she told him not to bother her again, which left Jiang Dian to vent his frustration by playing basketball. Later, Zhou Yao arrived at Cheng Feng’s book cafe with his agent, Pang Ting, to apologize for his fans’ behavior.

Cheng Feng remained unmoved by his feigned sincerity, questioning if he was merely there to check if she was dead. Pang Ting quickly defended Zhou Yao, accusing Cheng Feng of hiring paid posters to spread negative rumors about him. Pang Ting further escalated the confrontation, disparaging Cheng Feng's current status as a book cafe owner and contrasting it with her past as a renowned dancer, even bringing up Cheng Feng’s mother. Enraged, Cheng Feng splashed water on Pang Ting.

Just then, Jiang Dian arrived and stepped in to protect Cheng Feng. Pang Ting warned Cheng Feng against smearing Zhou Yao before leaving with him. Outside the cafe, Cheng Feng confronted Jiang Dian, asking why he continually appeared and created trouble for her. Jiang Dian explained that he simply wanted to help solve her problems.

Frustrated by his persistence, Cheng Feng proposed a bet: if he could make her heart flutter during a one-day date, she would agree to be his girlfriend. Otherwise, he must permanently disappear from her life. Despite her challenge to his confidence, Jiang Dian readily accepted the wager, telling her he would see her tomorrow. The next morning, Jiang Dian attempted to decline an appointment, arranged by Xiao Yun, to accompany Professor Joe from Harper College as a student representative.

He also faced pressure from his mother, who insisted he focus on his business studies and finalize his plans for studying abroad. Jiang Dian used the Professor Joe lecture as an excuse to quickly leave for his date with Cheng Feng, but his motorcycle broke down at Overpass No.1, forcing him to call Lian Ruoshen for help before rushing on foot. When he finally arrived at the book cafe, he discovered Cheng Feng had already left.

To his surprise, Cheng Feng was waiting for him nearby. Seeing her, Jiang Dian realized he finally understood what it meant to like someone, feeling an undeniable urge to always run towards her. He apologized for his lateness, explaining unforeseen delays. Cheng Feng noted it was already 11:50 AM, giving him only half a day left, but stated she would have waited for him all day regardless. Jiang Dian then enthusiastically initiated their date.

At a basketball court, he challenged Cheng Feng to a three-shot game, betting an extra hour on their date if he won. After securing his victory, they headed to a cat cafe, where a staff member took their picture with a cat, which Jiang Dian happily took as a keepsake. While cycling, Jiang Dian took a fall, injuring his leg. Despite his attempt to dismiss the injury to avoid wasting time, Cheng Feng insisted they go to the hospital.

Later that evening, after leaving the hospital, Cheng Feng pointed out that it was past 8:00 PM, and their day was almost over. She reiterated that he did not have to endure his injury for her. Jiang Dian perceived her concern as care and then led her to a beautifully lit lakeside spot he had carefully decorated for his confession.

He told her she had brought color to his world and ignited a desire to embrace someone, asking her to spend the winter with him. Cheng Feng remained distant, questioning the sustainability of their relationship beyond a single winter, especially with his impending departure abroad, which she deemed an irresponsible entanglement. She argued they lacked common interests and topics for a long-term connection.

Jiang Dian, however, pleaded that he would learn to love whatever she loved, mentioning her supposed interests in dancing, cats, and drinking. Cheng Feng then revealed her true feelings, stating she drank only to numb herself, cared for stray cats out of pity, and that his perception of her dancing was entirely his own assumption.

She admitted she didn't even understand her own desires, let alone how he could claim to like what she liked, and urged him to honor their bet. When Jiang Dian asked if all her happiness during the day was an act, Cheng Feng confirmed it, describing herself as callous and selfish. She emphasized that she didn’t even like herself, making it impossible to like him. Despite her cold rejection, Jiang Dian refused to give up, declaring his continued affection for her and stating that his pursuit of her was never a game.

Episode 4 Recap

Jiang Dian arrived home to find a cake on the table, which reminded him that it was his mother's birthday. He quickly sent her a text message wishing her well. His mother replied, telling him to look at the study abroad information on the table and decide on a university today, informing her of his choice tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Pei Xiaoyun was leading the Business School students in rehearsals for the upcoming Linxi University anniversary, but their performance was far from satisfactory. She stopped the rehearsal, frustrated by the lack of rhythm, specifically calling out Lian Ruoshen and Lu Bie for not coordinating. Lian Ruoshen blamed Lu Bie, who in turn pointed out issues with both Lian Ruoshen and Chai Jin.

Pei Xiaoyun stressed the importance of the college anniversary event for group honor and academic credits, but her students felt lost without proper guidance in dance. Jiang Dian then appeared with his cello, offering to play accompaniment. Lu Bie suggested his sister, Cheng Feng, who was a skilled dancer, might be able to offer professional guidance, though he doubted she would perform on stage. Pei Xiaoyun decided to ask Cheng Feng for help.

When some students offered Jiang Dian milky tea, he declined. Pei Xiaoyun went to the Half-Moon Book Cafe to appeal to Cheng Feng, her close friend. She spoke passionately about her students’ efforts and her own renewed sense of youthful enthusiasm since becoming their teacher, hoping to convince Cheng Feng to assist. Cheng Feng listened silently and, after Pei Xiaoyun's appeal, accepted a drink from her, remaining noncommittal.

Later, a heated argument erupted in the rehearsal hall between the Business School students and students from the civil engineering department. The civil engineering students mocked the Business School's performance, calling it "rubbish" and claiming it was their designated time for the hall, telling them to leave. Lian Ruoshen retorted, and a full-blown fight broke out. Amidst the chaos, Jiang Dian calmly played his cello. Pei Xiaoyun received a phone call about the incident and rushed back to school.

At the dean's office, the civil engineering advisor unfairly blamed Pei Xiaoyun for her students' behavior, criticizing her youth and inexperience. Lian Ruoshen defended Pei Xiaoyun, stating that the civil engineering students had initiated the provocation. The advisor then disparaged Pei Xiaoyun's students, calling them "hopeless students." Pei Xiaoyun, incensed, fiercely defended her students, pointing out that the civil engineering teacher had failed to lead by example and was unfairly judging them. The civil engineering advisor threatened disciplinary action.

A male teacher, Dean Chen, received a phone call and then asked Jiang Dian to report to Professor Chen. Pei Xiaoyun then confidently led her students away, daring the civil engineering teacher to blame her directly. Lian Ruoshen, elated by Pei Xiaoyun’s assertive stance, enthusiastically picked her up and spun her around. Bolstered by their teacher's support, the Business School students became even more determined to excel at the anniversary event.

To secure Cheng Feng's participation, Lian Ruoshen, Lu Bie, and two other students approached her with flowers, earnestly pleading for her help. They emphasized the extraordinary significance of the anniversary competition, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in their college careers. They expressed a strong desire to prove that Class Six of Business School were not "hopeless students" or "troublemakers" who only caused problems for Pei Xiaoyun, who had recently been looked down upon by other teachers because of them.

They vowed to give their all and do whatever Cheng Feng asked, requesting that she take a night to consider their proposal. The next day, the students waited anxiously in the rehearsal room, with Lu Bie expressing doubts about Cheng Feng's attendance. An older teacher, Ms. An, hobbled by on crutches, deliberately taking a tumble at the door before moving on to deliver a gift to Dean Chen.

Just as the students began to lose hope, Cheng Feng appeared at the door, agreeing to help. Pei Xiaoyun tried to explain Jiang Dian’s unexpected presence in the group, but Cheng Feng simply brushed it off. Cheng Feng then asked the students to showcase their talents. Among them were a jazz dancer, a singer who declared himself the "King Singer," Li Zikun who played guitar, and Lu Bie, who confidently called himself the "Piano Prince."

Jiang Dian also displayed his cello skills. Pei Xiaoyun, impressed by Jiang Dian’s multifaceted talents, remarked that he was a "treasure boy" with nothing he couldn't do, adding that he and Cheng Feng were well-matched, as excellent people should be together.

Cheng Feng observed everyone’s talents and then outlined the performance order: Chai Jin would perform a solo dance with Lu Bie on piano for the first act, while Lian Ruoshen would be the lead singer, accompanied by Li Zikun on guitar and Lu Bie on piano for the second act. When asked about Jiang Dian’s role, Cheng Feng assigned him the cello performance for the opening, linking the entire show.

Lian Ruoshen, genuinely impressed by Lu Bie’s piano playing, jokingly offered him brotherhood. Cheng Feng then demonstrated a dance, providing some inspiration for the students. As she danced, Ms. An and Dean Chen passed by; Ms. An complimented Cheng Feng’s dancing but harbored malicious thoughts. Throughout the demonstration, Jiang Dian was captivated, watching Cheng Feng with deep affection. After the training session, Cheng Feng left, telling Pei Xiaoyun that she was tired and would take a rain check on dinner.

Shortly after Cheng Feng departed, a continuous beeping sound blared over the broadcast system. Jiang Dian rushed out after her and found her in the corridor, disoriented and about to collapse from an auditory hallucination. He managed to catch her, cushioning her fall. Cheng Feng asked if he was concerned about her, to which he replied he would do the same for anyone.

She then feigned injuries to her arm and leg, asking him to treat her as he would anyone else. Jiang Dian helped her to the infirmary, where the nurse noticed Cheng Feng's poor mental state, attributing it to insomnia and potential relationship troubles. Cheng Feng left abruptly, and Jiang Dian followed her. Upon seeing an elevator, Cheng Feng again felt dizzy and unwell. That night, she suffered from nightmares involving elevators and struggled with insomnia.

Determined to help, Jiang Dian extensively researched remedies for insomnia. He sent Cheng Feng a package containing yogurt, a banana, and milk, along with a paper airplane. The plane carried a message, but Cheng Feng, dismissive, crumpled it and threw it away. Undeterred, Jiang Dian sent another paper airplane during a rehearsal, with a message expressing his desire to bring warmth to her night. Cheng Feng later attempted to fold a similar paper airplane herself but failed.

He then obtained photos of Cheng Feng's childhood from Lu Bie. Jiang Dian then enlisted Lu Bie and Lian Ruoshen to secretly redecorate Cheng Feng's room, transforming it into the pink-themed, Barbie-filled room of her childhood, hoping to help her sleep better by recreating a comforting scene. To keep Cheng Feng occupied, a friend named Xuedong feigned acute gastroenteritis and had Cheng Feng take him to the hospital, stalling for hours.

By the time they returned, his fabricated illness was exposed. Lu Bie attempted to intercept Cheng Feng downstairs, but she sensed something amiss. Lu Bie and Xuedong, fearing repercussions, quickly fled. When Cheng Feng returned to her room, she was confronted by the sight of her childhood room, identical in every detail, complete with numerous Barbie dolls. The recreated scene unexpectedly triggered deeply sensitive memories of her mother and their warm family home, causing her immense distress and anger.

Jiang Dian and Lian Ruoshen, emerging to reveal their "surprise," were met with Cheng Feng's fury. An awkward Lian Ruoshen quickly excused himself, leaving Jiang Dian alone to face an enraged Cheng Feng.

Episode 5 Recap

Cheng Feng confronted Jiang Dian, pushing him onto a bed. She provocatively asked if this was all he wanted, if he had done everything just to sleep with her. Cheng Feng then offered to fulfill his supposed desire, but demanded he leave immediately afterward and never appear before her again. Jiang Dian was deeply hurt, questioning if she truly saw him as such a person, someone who would use his heartfelt actions to manipulate her into sleeping with him.

Feeling his love trampled, Jiang Dian left in the pouring rain, his heartbreak mirrored by the weather. Afterward, Cheng Feng removed all the pink Barbie decorations Jiang Dian had set up in her room. Although she paused, visibly softened, as she looked at the dancing music box he had crafted, she ultimately placed it back in its box. The next day, the group gathered for rehearsal, but Jiang Dian was absent. His friends tried to contact him without success.

Lian Ruoshen suggested he would go to Jiang Dian's home to check on him. Cheng Feng, however, stated firmly that they could practice without a cello, implying Jiang Dian wasn't indispensable. Pei Xiaoyun, sensing Cheng Feng's anger, urged Lian Ruoshen to listen to Cheng Feng and not act rashly. Lian Ruoshen, frustrated, lashed out at Cheng Feng, accusing her of being heartless despite all Jiang Dian had done for her. He declared he wouldn't rehearse either and stormed out.

Faced with the group's uncertainty, Cheng Feng canceled the entire rehearsal. Lu Bie followed Cheng Feng and tried to make her understand Jiang Dian's sincerity. He revealed that the music box was handmade by Jiang Dian, with every sound personally recorded for her, and that Jiang Dian had pricked his hands countless times while sewing the doll. Lu Bie highlighted how Jiang Dian, a typically "cool guy," had transformed for her.

Cheng Feng retorted that she hadn't asked him to do any of it, but Lu Bie pressed on, asking if she was truly certain it was just Jiang Dian's one-sided affection, pointing out that she, too, seemed distracted. He urged her to think carefully. Meanwhile, Lian Ruoshen was by Jiang Dian's side in the hospital, relieved that his fever had finally come down.

He recounted finding Jiang Dian collapsed at home and rushing him to the hospital, then suggested Jiang Dian move in with him for better care. Lian Ruoshen expressed his pain at seeing Jiang Dian so hurt, admonishing Cheng Feng's "coldness" and "cruelty," even if her heart were made of ice, it should have melted by now. Jiang Dian quietly admitted he didn't want to be hurt either.

Lian Ruoshen promised to get him something to eat, longing for his friend to regain his former "charming" self. Later, at a gathering with friends, Pei Xiaoyun apologized for Lian Ruoshen's outburst, mentioning Jiang Dian's fever and the absence of family care, stating that his parents were always abroad and only cared about him going overseas, leaving him to deal with sickness alone. As Cheng Feng looked at her drink, she was reminded of Jiang Dian mixing a martini.

Dai Baoling, noticing Cheng Feng's preoccupation, advised her that "sympathy is not love" and cautioned her against playing with fire, referring to Cheng Feng's past statement about enjoying her youth. Dai Baoling, who was scouting for talent at Linxi University, found herself unimpressed until she spotted Lian Ruoshen on the basketball court.

When he casually called her "Miss," she swiftly put him in an over-the-shoulder throw, warning him to "stay out of her way" because she "knows Kungfu" and would "clean his damn clock" if he provoked her. Lian Ruoshen, still on the ground, vowed to "clean her damn clock" next time. Receiving a text from Pei Xiaoyun about being busy, Dai Baoling was left to find the practice room herself.

Lu Bie caught up with Lian Ruoshen, telling him that his heartfelt description of Jiang Dian's efforts had surely "moved" Cheng Feng. Lian Ruoshen wondered why Lu Bie hadn't included their "funny" and "interrupted Jiang Dian's work" moments in his persuasive speech, but Lu Bie dismissed it as better left unsaid. Convinced that Jiang Dian was on the verge of success, Lian Ruoshen agreed to go to rehearsal, only to run into Dai Baoling again.

She offered him a milk tea as a peace offering and teased him, calling him a "monkey" that gives Pei Xiaoyun headaches. Lian Ruoshen then apologized to Cheng Feng for his earlier behavior, asking her not to be angry with Jiang Dian. Following Lu Bie's "Phase two" strategy, he dramatically exaggerated Jiang Dian's suffering, claiming he was "dying already" and "struggling with his last breath" with "no one to worry about him."

At that very moment, Jiang Dian walked into the practice room with his cello, making Lian Ruoshen's claims painfully awkward. As everyone practiced together, Pei Xiaoyun rushed in with dire news: the school leadership had decided to cancel their anniversary performance due to the high number of failing grades in their class. To save the show, they needed to improve their grades significantly in just a few days.

Jiang Dian volunteered to tutor everyone, despite Pei Xiaoyun's concerns about his physics competition. He assured them he had his own plans. When Pei Xiaoyun added that their practice room had been reassigned to Civil Engineering, Cheng Feng offered her book cafe as an alternative venue. At the Half-Moon Book Cafe, Jiang Dian diligently tutored his classmates, highlighting key points, while Cheng Feng and Pei Xiaoyun prepared fruit for everyone. The students also used breaks to rehearse.

The night before the exams, Jiang Dian, who had pulled an all-nighter compiling practice questions, came down with a cold. Cheng Feng brewed ginseng tea for everyone, and Jiang Dian felt a warmth in his heart as he drank the tea she made. As the students saw their scores improve on the practice tests, they continued to study through the night. Cheng Feng gently covered each of them with blankets, paying special attention to Jiang Dian.

Dai Baoling visited Cheng Feng, concerned about rival agents Pang Ting and Zhou Yao trying to snatch an endorsement deal. She asked Cheng Feng to use her influence with Richy, the client. Cheng Feng, stating she disliked trouble, initially refused. Dai Baoling pointed out that Cheng Feng had helped Pei Xiaoyun with the rehearsal space but not her, jokingly attributing Cheng Feng's assistance to Pei Xiaoyun to "the meaning of love."

Dai Baoling conceded that Jiang Dian was indeed "cute and persistent," and that even she was "impressed a lot" by him, urging Cheng Feng to address her feelings. Cheng Feng, however, insisted she would not give herself any opportunities until she had thought things through clearly. After the exams, the students emerged confident they had scored well, boasting to Pei Xiaoyun and Cheng Feng. Jiang Dian was absent, as he was busy with a physics experiment.

His physics professor teased him about his "dark circles" and "dedication to love," gossiping about his pursuit of the book cafe owner. Jiang Dian dismissed the professor's "stupid" romantic advice. Later, Jiang Dian found Cheng Feng alone at the book cafe. She coldly returned the Barbie doll and music box, stating that he was a good man, but they were not suitable, and that she preferred to have a clean break rather than drag things out. Jiang Dian, taken aback by her "cruel" decision, grabbed her arm and asked if her previous proposition still stood.

Episode 6 Recap

Cheng Feng decisively ended things with Jiang Dian, returning his belongings and stating that since they had made their feelings clear, there was no point in keeping them. When Jiang Dian questioned if she truly had to be so resolute, Cheng Feng insisted that a clean break was inevitable, so there was no need to prolong it. She confirmed that her previous statement about them no longer bothering each other still stood.

Devastated, Jiang Dian asked why she was treating him this way when she clearly cared for him, and why she was pushing him away. He felt such a pursuit couldn't last and that it was better to stop. Cheng Feng apologized if her actions had caused him to misunderstand, promising to be more careful in the future, and reiterated that it was indeed a misunderstanding.

Jiang Dian pressed her one last time, asking if it truly was a misunderstanding, but Cheng Feng remained silent. Later, a heartbroken Jiang Dian sought solace in a bar, drinking heavily. The bartender urged him to stop and go home to sleep it off. A sleazy man approached Jiang Dian, calling him "cute" and insisting they drink together. Jiang Dian curtly told him to get lost.

When the man persisted, asking for his address to escort him home, Jiang Dian reacted violently, subduing him. The man's accomplices then intervened, escalating the situation into a brawl. Eventually, the police arrived and took Jiang Dian and the others to the station. Meanwhile, Lian Ruoshen, having waited until 2 AM for Jiang Dian to return home, was shocked to see his friend bruised and battered.

He initially vowed revenge but quickly realized that only Cheng Feng could hurt Jiang Dian so deeply. Lian Ruoshen advised Jiang Dian against pursuing Cheng Feng, describing her as an "ice mountain" that would only lead to more pain, and suggested that someone gentle and docile like Pei Xiaoyun would be more suitable. Jiang Dian sadly asked if Lian Ruoshen also believed they were incompatible.

Lian Ruoshen then remembered his actual purpose for visiting, sharing two pieces of good news: everyone had passed their exams, meaning their show could proceed, and that Pei Xiaoyun's birthday was tomorrow. He had planned a two-day, one-night party at the Fenglin Mountain scenic spot. Jiang Dian immediately refused to go. Lian Ruoshen tried to tempt him by revealing that Cheng Feng would also be there, but Jiang Dian stubbornly claimed her attendance had no bearing on his decision.

The next day, Lian Ruoshen and Pei Xiaoyun managed to persuade Cheng Feng to join them for the outing. To her surprise, Dai Baoling and Jiang Dian were already at the scenic spot. Dai Baoling quickly clarified to Cheng Feng that Jiang Dian was already waiting there when she arrived, and she kindly offered him a ride to escape the cold.

Lian Ruoshen playfully teased Jiang Dian about his earlier refusal to come, to which Jiang Dian simply replied he had changed his mind, though Lian Ruoshen suspected it was because of Cheng Feng. Their conversation was interrupted when a nanny van almost collided with them. Zhou Yao and his manager, Pang Ting, emerged from the vehicle. Zhou Yao feigned concern for their safety, which nearly provoked a fight with Lian Ruoshen.

Pang Ting, seizing the opportunity, tried to drive a wedge between Cheng Feng and Dai Baoling by insinuating that Dai Baoling had used their friendship for personal gain. Cheng Feng fiercely defended Dai Baoling, telling Pang Ting to stop her dramatic one-woman show. Jiang Dian then intervened, urging everyone to leave to minimize Cheng Feng's interaction with Zhou Yao. To lighten the mood, Lian Ruoshen proposed a paintball game, splitting everyone into pairs.

Dai Baoling approached Cheng Feng, apologizing for secretly hiring online trolls to slander Zhou Yao without telling her, which Pang Ting had discovered. She promised to protect Cheng Feng regardless of who they were paired with. During the draw, Jiang Dian was paired with Li Zikun, while Lian Ruoshen was paired with Dai Baoling. Disgusted, Lian Ruoshen tried to swap with Lu Bie to be with Pei Xiaoyun, declaring his intention to protect her.

Lu Bie refused, and Dai Baoling shot Lian Ruoshen a disapproving look. As the game began, Lian Ruoshen immediately eliminated his teammate Dai Baoling, explaining he had to sacrifice her to protect Pei Xiaoyun. He then playfully cornered Pei Xiaoyun, boasting about his handsomeness and promising her a "win" for an unforgettable birthday. Unexpectedly, Lu Bie eliminated Lian Ruoshen, proudly declaring it a tactical move where Pei Xiaoyun was a decoy.

After several more eliminations, Jiang Dian eliminated Lu Bie, who quipped that friendship was nothing compared to love. To everyone's surprise, Jiang Dian then shot Cheng Feng, eliminating her as well, causing Cheng Feng to angrily throw down her gun. With only Jiang Dian and Pei Xiaoyun remaining, Pei Xiaoyun, fearing she couldn't beat Jiang Dian, considered eliminating herself. Suddenly, she was declared the winner.

It turned out Jiang Dian had eliminated himself, but in doing so, had sustained a cut on his foot and had to walk back to the camp barefoot. Back at the camp, everyone wondered why Cheng Feng hadn't returned. They speculated she might be off healing her emotional wounds. Jiang Dian then arrived barefoot with his injured foot. Realizing Cheng Feng was still missing, everyone split up to search for her. Meanwhile, Cheng Feng encountered Pang Ting by the lake.

Pang Ting continued her provocations, questioning how it felt to be betrayed by a friend. Cheng Feng retorted, warning Pang Ting not to bother her or her friends, stating that Zhou Yao, who might be a treasure to Pang Ting, was utterly worthless to her. As Cheng Feng issued her warning, a piercing sound from a nearby loudspeaker caused her to lose balance and fall into the lake. Pang Ting watched with a triumphant smile.

Jiang Dian, however, arrived just in time, leaping into the cold water to rescue Cheng Feng and giving her mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. At the camp, Pei Xiaoyun and Dai Baoling were distraught upon seeing the unconscious Cheng Feng, with Pei Xiaoyun blaming herself. Nearby, Lian Ruoshen and Lu Bie were concerned for Jiang Dian. Lian Ruoshen felt Jiang Dian's unwavering sacrifices for Cheng Feng were not worth it.

Lu Bie, with a more philosophical view, explained that in love, the one who loves more deeply often becomes the humbler one, willing to face even life-threatening danger without hesitation. When Cheng Feng finally regained consciousness, Pei Xiaoyun tearfully told her that Jiang Dian, despite not being a strong swimmer, had risked his life to save her, and that Dai Baoling and Lian Ruoshen had helped pull them out.

Dai Baoling downplayed her role, insisting Jiang Dian deserved the main credit. Cheng Feng, deeply moved by Jiang Dian's selfless act, immediately rushed to his side. Lian Ruoshen, seeing her, urged her not to hurt Jiang Dian again, emphasizing that his heart also felt pain. He and Lu Bie then left, giving them space. Cheng Feng gently caressed Jiang Dian's face, her heart aching for him. Jiang Dian held her hand, asking her to reciprocate his sincere feelings.

Cheng Feng confessed her heart felt empty and might not be able to give him what he wanted. Jiang Dian tenderly promised to fill her heart with his love, vowing that if she would only take one step towards him, he would take the remaining ninety-nine. Cheng Feng, however, replied that it was easy to be moved but difficult to truly love, asking him for more time to consider.

Later, Lian Ruoshen presented Pei Xiaoyun with a birthday gift—a set of hairbands. Pei Xiaoyun was initially touched but then grew angry, discovering the hairbands were not the pink, cute ones Lian Ruoshen had described, and she returned them. The next day, on their way back, Lian Ruoshen continued trying to appease a still-angry Pei Xiaoyun, whose eyes were swollen from crying.

He offered to throw away the hairbands, but she retorted that he was the one who made the mistake, not the accessories. Seeing his sincerity, Pei Xiaoyun finally accepted the gift. Soon after, Pei Xiaoyun received a call, learning that there was a problem with the school anniversary performance costumes and they wouldn't be ready in time for the next day's show. Lian Ruoshen offered to cover the costs, reminding everyone his family owned a mining company.

Pei Xiaoyun was relieved when Dai Baoling stepped in, confidently offering to handle the costume issue. As Dai Baoling left to make arrangements, Lian Ruoshen teasingly commented to Jiang Dian that she was running off with his "wife," to which Jiang Dian responded with a sweet, rare smile. Inside the car, Cheng Feng contemplated her feelings, asking Dai Baoling what would happen if two hedgehogs fell in love.

Dai Baoling asserted her unconditional support for Cheng Feng, prioritizing her friend's well-being above all. The conversation then shifted to Dai Baoling's actions against Zhou Yao. Cheng Feng explained that she wasn't angry about the action itself, but rather that Dai Baoling had hidden it from her, especially knowing how much she detested Zhou Yao. Dai Baoling apologized, admitting she was flustered and fell for Pang Ting's trick because she couldn't stand Zhou Yao's hypocrisy. Cheng Feng accepted her apology and asked Dai Baoling to make amends by accompanying her to a psychologist.

Episode 7 Recap

Cheng Feng, determined to move past her trauma, asked Dai Baoling to drive her to see a psychologist. During the session, the psychologist initiated hypnotherapy, guiding Cheng Feng to relax and focus on a watch. Under hypnosis, Cheng Feng relived the painful memory of her mother’s heart stopping, an event that occurred when Cheng Feng was unable to reach her mother due to a performance.

However, she also saw Jiang Dian’s music box, and the painful memories felt less terrifying than before. Meanwhile, Dai Baoling took Lian Ruoshen and his friends on a tour of Royal Entertainment, her agency. Lian Ruoshen was deeply impressed by the grand company, expressing a wish to join. Pei Xiaoyun immediately cautioned him, advising him against "idle dreaming" and to focus on his studies, emphasizing the complexities of show business.

Dai Baoling interrupted, telling Pei Xiaoyun not to discriminate against the industry. Pei Xiaoyun maintained that Lian Ruoshen was simply not suitable for entertainment. Lian Ruoshen confidently disagreed, showcasing his singing voice and asserting he was "born to do this for a living." As they prepared for the Linxi University anniversary show, everyone was selecting costumes.

Jiang Dian pulled Dai Baoling aside, asking about Cheng Feng’s past, particularly concerning a "life" she mentioned, as he wanted to prevent her from further hurt. Dai Baoling acknowledged Jiang Dian's efforts to open up for Cheng Feng, noting it was more than anyone could have imagined. However, she stated that Cheng Feng’s personal secrets were hers to reveal, not Dai Baoling's.

She did offer a reassuring detail: Cheng Feng was actively seeing a psychologist and would eventually overcome her struggles. Jiang Dian expressed his desire to be there for Cheng Feng as she healed, not wanting her to face it alone. Their costume selection was interrupted by Pang Ting, who reprimanded Lian Ruoshen’s group for being in a dressing room designated for Royal Entertainment’s internal artists, singling out a six-figure outfit worn by Lian Ruoshen. She demanded he take it off.

Dai Baoling arrived and confronted Pang Ting, asserting that she brought the group in and had personally purchased the batch of clothes, implying Pang Ting, being "not human," couldn't borrow them. Zhou Yao intervened to prevent a further escalation. Lian Ruoshen and his friends were amazed by Dai Baoling's bold stance, with Lian Ruoshen declaring her his "boss."

On the day of the anniversary show, Pei Xiaoyun reported grim news: the Civil Engineering department had scored 95 points, setting a high bar. To compound the stress, Chai Jin, the lead dancer, sprained her ankle due to intense nervousness. Everyone was worried about the performance. Chai Jin, tearfully apologizing for letting everyone down, pleaded with Cheng Feng to take her place, not wanting their hard work to go to waste. Cheng Feng hesitated briefly, then agreed.

She instructed Lian Ruoshen, Li Zikun, and Lu Bie to improvise and stall for time while she changed. Lian Ruoshen, Li Zikun, and Lu Bie went on stage first.

From the audience, Dai Baoling was unimpressed by the previous acts, but as she was about to take a phone call, Lian Ruoshen’s singing captivated her, making her reflect on whether she would have chosen her current path if she had known this song would lead her to fall for him and risk her career. Then, Jiang Dian, dressed in a suit, led Cheng Feng, ethereal in a black dance dress, onto the stage.

He gently blindfolded her with a black ribbon, comforting her that in that moment, her world was just him. Dai Baoling stood up in pleasant surprise as Cheng Feng began to dance. Accompanied by Jiang Dian on cello and Lu Bie on piano, Cheng Feng performed a graceful dance, earning thunderous applause. However, the emotional intensity was too much, and at the conclusion of the dance, Cheng Feng fainted from overstimulation, collapsing into Jiang Dian's arms.

Jiang Dian and Dai Baoling immediately rushed her to the hospital. Later, in her room, Cheng Feng had a nightmare, crying out for her mother. Waking up in distress, she clung to Jiang Dian, pleading with him to stay with her. He reassured her he would always be there. Dai Baoling, sensing their need for privacy, subtly left the room and went downstairs, where she found herself repeatedly watching a recording of Lian Ruoshen's performance.

Pei Xiaoyun soon arrived with Lian Ruoshen and his friends to check on Cheng Feng. Dai Baoling stopped Pei Xiaoyun from going upstairs, assuring them Cheng Feng was fine and had woken up. Jiang Dian then came downstairs, adding that she had fallen back asleep and merely needed rest. Lian Ruoshen presented Dai Baoling with "Brain Platinum" as a token of gratitude for her help with the costumes.

Dai Baoling jokingly suggested he keep it for his own brain but then handed him her Royal Entertainment agent’s business card, inviting him to consider a career with her. Lian Ruoshen was overjoyed, but Pei Xiaoyun cautioned him, reiterating that he was a student and that the entertainment industry might not be suitable for him. After comforting Cheng Feng, Jiang Dian came downstairs to speak privately with Dai Baoling about Cheng Feng's past.

Dai Baoling explained that Cheng Feng's issues were connected to her mother. While Cheng Feng was in an overseas dance competition, her mother was involved in a fatal car accident on the way to watch her perform. Since that tragic day, Cheng Feng had never performed on stage again and had developed claustrophobia. Dai Baoling reassured Jiang Dian that Cheng Feng was diligently working with Dr. Xie You at Muxin Counseling.

The next morning, Cheng Feng woke up to find a heartwarming paper airplane note from Jiang Dian. Dai Baoling brought her a bowl of porridge, mentioning that Jiang Dian had stayed up all night caring for her and was so stubborn that he only agreed to rest after much persuasion.

Cheng Feng initially had no appetite, but when Dai Baoling teasingly said it was Jiang Dian who had painstakingly prepared it, Cheng Feng immediately took the bowl and began to eat. Dai Baoling observed that Jiang Dian might be the "remedy" Cheng Feng needed and urged her to consider pursuing a relationship with him, reminding her not to dwell on her past struggles.

She also excitedly mentioned that Cheng Feng’s dance had become a trending topic, expressing her hope that Cheng Feng would continue to shine on stage, believing her mother would have wanted the same. Driven by concern, Jiang Dian visited Dr. Xie You at Muxin Counseling to understand Cheng Feng's condition. Dr. Xie You emphasized the importance of a relaxed mindset for the patient, warning against both external and internal pressures that could cause significant harm.

This made Jiang Dian realize that his intense pursuit of Cheng Feng might have inadvertently created invisible pressure for her. He later went to the lake, deeply affected, to process his emotions. Meanwhile, Lian Ruoshen, emboldened by Dai Baoling’s offer, excitedly proclaimed his ambition to become a big star. His friend Li Zikun immediately asked for autographs.

Lu Bie, however, was skeptical, jokingly making a bet that if Lian Ruoshen truly became a superstar, he would livestream himself being cooked in an "iron pot stew." Lian Ruoshen and Li Zikun quickly recorded Lu Bie’s declaration on video as proof. Later, Pei Xiaoyun awarded Lian Ruoshen’s group a special prize for their anniversary performance, granting them first-place academic credits.

The trio, assuming they were trending, checked their phones, only to discover that it was Cheng Feng's dance that had dominated the online discussions. Despite Pei Xiaoyun's continued reminders to focus on their studies, they quickly made their escape with their awards. After much contemplation, Cheng Feng made a decision to proactively express her feelings to Jiang Dian, calling him and stating, "Jiang Dian, I want to see you."

Episode 8 Recap

The Half-Moon Book Cafe saw a surge of visitors after Cheng Feng's dance video went viral, with many fans coming to take pictures. Lian Ruoshen, humorously dismayed that his own fans were "still on their way," approached Cheng Feng to show her the award certificate they had won at the school anniversary. However, as Cheng Feng appeared, a throng of her enthusiastic fans rushed towards her, and in the commotion, Lian Ruoshen's certificate was trampled and ruined.

Later, Cheng Feng surprised Jiang Dian at the restaurant where he had first confessed his feelings. She had arranged a heartwarming display of paper airplanes, each a response to his earlier confession. She apologized for the hurt he had endured because of her and wished for him never to suffer on her behalf again. Expressing gratitude for his presence and protection, she reminded him of his words that they were alike—both thorny, lonely, and longing for love.

She declared her willingness to shed all her thorns to embrace him and asked if they could keep each other warm this winter. With a simple, "Dian, I like you," she kissed him. Jiang Dian, overwhelmed with a happiness he wasn't used to, admitted he sometimes feared such sweetness but vowed to cherish and love her without reservation for the rest of his life. They shared another kiss, solidifying their relationship.

That same night, feeling their new relationship was unreal, Jiang Dian called Cheng Feng from outside the book cafe. Cheng Feng came downstairs barefoot, reassuring him it was all real. When he expressed insecurity over her not replying to his "good night" message, she explained she had been showering and wasn't used to having someone to say good night to, but promised to do so every day from then on.

Noticing her bare feet, Jiang Dian gently warmed them on the couch to prevent her from catching a cold. Before leaving, he asked for a hug, and Cheng Feng agreed, also asking him to accompany her to a psychologist the following day. Upon returning home, Jiang Dian found frantic messages from his mother, who confronted him for being unreachable.

She immediately presented him with information for a school she had chosen for his overseas studies, having already booked his hotel and flight for a visa interview. She dismissed his attempts to object, stating she was too exhausted from work to deal with more trouble. Disheartened, Jiang Dian found solace only by looking at a photo of himself and Cheng Feng. He then took out a pair of couple's helmets, ready to pick her up.

The next day, a man named Richie visited the book cafe to offer Cheng Feng a lucrative endorsement deal for his brand, HA, hoping she was planning a comeback. She politely declined. Jiang Dian arrived during their conversation and, feeling jealous, asserted his new status by drinking the coffee meant for her, claiming she couldn't have it, and telling Richie they had plans. After Richie left, Jiang Dian admitted his jealousy, which Cheng Feng found endearing.

Jiang Dian then accompanied Cheng Feng to her psychologist's appointment. The doctor suggested exposure therapy for a quick result, despite the high risks. Cheng Feng agreed, wanting to overcome her fears quickly. During the session, she was forced to relive the traumatic memory of her mother's death, causing her to break down in terror. Jiang Dian, unable to watch her suffer, burst in and stopped the treatment.

The doctor concluded that her subconscious was still too resistant and suggested they consider hypnotherapy in the future. Meanwhile, Lian Ruoshen, encouraged by Jiang Dian’s advice to follow his heart, called Dai Baoling to sign the artist contract. However, their meeting was interrupted by Pei Xiaoyun, who was furious with Dai Baoling for trying to sign her student. Lian Ruoshen intervened, questioning why Pei Xiaoyun couldn't support his passion.

Pei Xiaoyun remained unconvinced, warning him against expecting easy success and stressing the importance of his studies. She tried to pull him away, but he angrily shook her hand off, causing her to hit her hand on a table. Fuming, Pei Xiaoyun stormed off. Lian Ruoshen later found her on campus and apologized, but their argument reignited. He accused her of looking down on him, and she accused him of not trusting her judgment.

The fight culminated in Pei Xiaoyun returning a hair clip he had given her, which he threw away before they parted angrily. Alone in the music hall, Pei Xiaoyun had a flashback to her childhood, remembering her own mother's reassuring words of support before a dance performance. Later, Dai Baoling complained to Cheng Feng about Pei Xiaoyun's interference.

Revealing her professional frustrations with rivals like Pang Ting and Zhou Yao, she explained her urgent need for new talent like Lian Ruoshen to revive her career. Cheng Feng agreed to arrange a meeting between them on the condition they wouldn't argue in her presence. At a bar, Dai Baoling and Pei Xiaoyun immediately resumed their heated debate over Lian Ruoshen's career versus his studies.

However, as they continued drinking, their anger gave way to drunken apologies and affectionate expressions, and the two reconciled. Meanwhile, Jiang Dian, who was at another bar with a friend, left to pick up Cheng Feng. After paying the bill and arranging for a taxi for her inebriated friends, Cheng Feng was leaving the bar when she was confronted by Zhou Yao, who grabbed her arm. Jiang Dian arrived just in time, swiftly pulled his hand away, and asserted, "She's my girlfriend."

Episode 9 Recap

As Cheng Feng was leaving the bar, Zhou Yao tried to stop her, prompting Jiang Dian to intervene. Zhou Yao asserted that his business with Cheng Feng was none of Jiang Dian's concern, but Jiang Dian firmly declared that Cheng Feng was his girlfriend and warned Zhou Yao to back off. Cheng Feng, feeling tired, then urged Jiang Dian to leave with her.

Elsewhere, a still-tipsy Bao Ling argued with Xiaoyun, playfully accusing her of having used the lipstick she’d given her and taken advantage of her, implying Xiaoyun had agreed to let her sign Lian Ruoshen. Xiaoyun refuted these claims, insisting she had not agreed to anything. At a bar, Zhou Yao met with Rich and his agent, Pang Ting.

Pang Ting presented Rich with a bouquet of Calla lilies for his wife's birthday, expressing gratitude for his and his wife's past kindness to Zhou Yao and Cheng Feng abroad. They toasted, and Pang Ting confidently pitched Zhou Yao as the ideal HA endorsement candidate due to his image and professionalism. Rich added that he also admired Zhou Yao's loyalty. Zhou Yao then signed the contract without hesitation. Rich commented that he wished Cheng Feng were as decisive.

He revealed that HA’s first product was inspired by Cheng Feng’s dance, making her his preferred choice for the endorsement, but she had consistently refused despite her significant influence. Zhou Yao speculated that she might be content with her current quiet life and reluctant to return to the public eye. Pang Ting offered to find other candidates, but Rich admitted he still held out hope for Cheng Feng.

Zhou Yao asked if Cheng Feng's refusal was due to him and offered to withdraw to avoid complicating things, but Rich assured him it wasn't his fault. Rich then disclosed that he had hoped the endorsement might reunite Cheng Feng and Zhou Yao, but mentioned that Cheng Feng now had a "little boyfriend," a revelation that visibly upset Zhou Yao. Jiang Dian was still fuming about Zhou Yao's earlier interaction.

Cheng Feng gently told him that Zhou Yao was a stranger to her and there was no need for him to be jealous. She then playfully suggested a "punishment" for making her stand in the cold. After she kissed him, he pulled her closer, saying, "I'm satisfied with this." Meanwhile, in a multimedia room, Xiaoyun was searching for a lost item, frustrated at having thrown it away. Lian Ruoshen, who was already in the room, startled her.

Mistaking him for a ghost, a frightened Xiaoyun instinctively clung to him. Enjoying the moment, he playfully continued to scare her. On their way home, Jiang Dian and Cheng Feng were caught in a downpour, and Jiang Dian developed a fever. Cheng Feng lovingly cared for him, urging him to always tell her when he felt unwell and not to hide it. She told him to take a hot shower to warm up.

Jiang Dian then carried Cheng Feng, insisting she shower first to avoid catching a cold herself, to which Cheng Feng questioned his intentions. Later, Cheng Feng gave him ginger tea, which he reluctantly drank. After his shower, Jiang Dian feigned dizziness and requested to sleep on her sofa, citing the rain and his worsening cold. Cheng Feng, drying his hair, playfully asked him to call her "sister" for a reward. He did, receiving a kiss.

He then playfully picked her up, but Cheng Feng stopped him, cautioning him not to go too far. Jiang Dian clarified that he was only reaching for a pillow from the bed, and later, as he drifted to sleep, he wished they could be this happy every day. The next morning, Jiang Dian was awake by Cheng Feng's bedside, greeting her affectionately.

Soon after, the landlord arrived at the book cafe, informing Cheng Feng of her decision to sell the property. Her son was studying abroad, and she and her husband planned to move overseas to live with him and buy a house there. Cheng Feng advised careful consideration for overseas property, suggesting that renting before buying would be more prudent.

She also pointed out that her current house was appreciating in value and could serve as a fallback if they ever decided to return to China. The landlord admitted these were points she hadn't considered and promised to discuss them with her husband, accepting Cheng Feng’s offer to provide a contact for property planning.

Lian Ruoshen then frantically arrived, looking for Jiang Dian, informing him that the physics professor had been trying to reach him all night and needed him at the lab immediately for a meeting. Jiang Dian's phone had been off. Cheng Feng handed him breakfast to eat on the way. Later, An Yin called Cheng Feng, asking her to come to the welfare house.

Cheng Feng rushed over, where An Yin explained that her leg injury had worsened, requiring two expensive surgeries, and she desperately needed 150,000 yuan. Cheng Feng promptly transferred the money, urging An Yin to recover quickly so she could earn money to repay her. An Yin, with feigned sadness, lamented that she would never dance again, then subtly inquired if Cheng Feng had any plans for a comeback, insisting her talent was too good to waste.

Cheng Feng confirmed she did have plans, but not for the immediate future. Suddenly, a child cried out that Yaya was locked in the warehouse. Cheng Feng immediately rushed to help. As soon as Cheng Feng left, An Yin's facade of sadness vanished. Cheng Feng found Yaya in the dark warehouse and comforted her, but in the process, she was locked inside herself. Yaya begged her not to leave, and Cheng Feng promised to stay.

Meanwhile, Jiang Dian's professor gathered his team, reminding them of the upcoming competition in Hua City, which required a week of intensive, closed-door training at a hotel. He sternly warned against absences and emphasized keeping phones on 24/7, specifically singling out Jiang Dian for his past disappearances. Jiang Dian, unable to reach Cheng Feng by phone, called Xuedong, who informed him that Cheng Feng had gone to the welfare house and hadn't returned, likely due to a dead phone battery.

Concerned, Jiang Dian immediately headed there. Inside the warehouse, Cheng Feng experienced a severe claustrophobia attack. An Yin and others arrived to open the door, with An Yin feigning shock and ignorance about Cheng Feng's claustrophobia. An Yin later revealed her malicious intent, confirming that she had orchestrated the entire incident, including Yaya's involvement, to test Cheng Feng's condition and ensure she would never dance again, just like herself.

Jiang Dian arrived on his motorcycle, found a distraught Cheng Feng, and embraced her tightly, sensing her hidden distress. He told her he missed her, and she reciprocated. He mentioned his upcoming closed training and expressed concern about leaving her alone. Cheng Feng reassured him, encouraging him to focus on his work and affirming she could manage her condition as long as she avoided enclosed spaces.

Later, Bao Ling called Cheng Feng to inform her that she had successfully signed Lian Ruoshen, acknowledging that this meant she had thoroughly offended Xiaoyun. During his physics research, Jiang Dian was deeply moved by a VR interactive restoration he saw his professor watching.

Recalling Cheng Feng's unresolved grief over her mother, he sought out Lu Bie, who shared the story of Cheng Feng's mother dying in a car accident on her way to see Cheng Feng dance, which led Cheng Feng to stop dancing. Jiang Dian asked Lu Bie for photos of Cheng Feng's mother.

After some playful banter and securing a concert ticket in exchange, Lu Bie provided the photos along with over 30,000 words of detailed memories about Cheng Feng and her mother. Jiang Dian then dedicated himself to coding tirelessly through the night in his lab, using the photos and memories to create a VR program designed to bring Cheng Feng’s memories of her mother to life. After intense effort, Jiang Dian completed his VR program.

Cheng Feng called him, asking about his day; he replied it was smooth and he missed her. She cautioned him not to overwork himself. The next morning, Cheng Feng found a weary Jiang Dian asleep in his lab and woke him, bringing him breakfast. Jiang Dian then took her to a room, where he had her put on a VR headset. As Cheng Feng entered the virtual world, she saw her mother standing before her.

Overcome with emotion, she confessed how much she missed her, tearfully apologizing for her mother’s death, blaming herself for missing the call and inviting her to her performance. Her mother, in the VR space, gently reassured her that it was not her fault, expressing how heartbroken she was to see Cheng Feng abandon her passion for dance. She encouraged Cheng Feng to continue shining on stage and to stop torturing herself, wishing her happiness.

Cheng Feng then poured out her feelings of loneliness and loss since her mother’s passing, expressing her deep desire for just one more hug. She thanked her mother for everything, including giving birth to her, and wished her a happy birthday. Her mother reiterated her hopes for Cheng Feng’s happiness, health, and a good life. They embraced and cried together, finally resolving Cheng Feng's long-held grief. With Jiang Dian's accompaniment, Cheng Feng performed a beautiful, final dance for her mother. As she thanked Jiang Dian, he, overwhelmed by exhaustion, suddenly collapsed.

Episode 10 Recap

At the hospital, Cheng Feng learned from Professor Chen about the immense difficulties Jiang Dian had faced. Professor Chen explained that Jiang Dian, despite preparing for the physics competition, had also been tirelessly working day and night on a virtual reality project for Cheng Feng, which led to his exhaustion. He described Jiang Dian as a neglected child whose father was always absent and whose mother constantly pressured him to study business, showing little care for his true well-being.

Professor Chen noted that people like Jiang Dian, when shown kindness, tend to give their all in return. He urged Cheng Feng to be especially good to Jiang Dian, emphasizing his quiet suffering and the profound impact her care had on him. Cheng Feng promised to take good care of Jiang Dian. When Professor Chen went to check on Jiang Dian, Jiang Dian seemed disappointed, expecting Cheng Feng.

Professor Chen light-heartedly chided him and mentioned that his mother had scheduled his visa interview on the same day as the physics competition. He expressed frustration at her blindness to Jiang Dian's physics talent and urged him not to miss the competition. Cheng Feng then entered, and Professor Chen left them to have some privacy. Cheng Feng expressed her concern, telling Jiang Dian not to harm himself again, even for her sake, and to prioritize his health.

Jiang Dian was deeply moved, confiding that no one had ever truly cared for him before. Cheng Feng reassured him that she would cherish him, and they shared a tender kiss. Soon after, Lian Ruoshen and Lu Bie arrived at the hospital. They saw Cheng Feng and Jiang Dian kissing and waited outside, playfully bickering. Once invited in, Lian Ruoshen suggested that Jiang Dian should exercise to build strength, leading to more banter between him and Lu Bie.

Annoyed by their noise, Cheng Feng asked them to leave so Jiang Dian could rest. Both Lian Ruoshen and Lu Bie remarked on Cheng Feng's softened demeanor, attributing it to love, before Jiang Dian himself asked them to leave. After Jiang Dian was discharged, Cheng Feng cooked for him at her place. He tried to assist, but she lovingly took over, teasing him about his lack of cooking skills.

While preparing the meal, Cheng Feng hugged him and promised to love him well. Jiang Dian expressed a fear that their current happiness felt unreal, as he had never known such genuine care before. Cheng Feng comforted him, promising to make up for all the love he missed in the past. Their moment was interrupted by the arrival of a distraught and drunk Pei Xiaoyun.

She tearfully complained to Cheng Feng about Lian Ruoshen avoiding her and not answering her calls. Pei Xiaoyun felt she couldn't stand by while Lian Ruoshen pursued a fleeting career in the entertainment industry and desperately wanted him to explain himself. Cheng Feng called Lian Ruoshen, who then appeared and carried the intoxicated Pei Xiaoyun away. On the way, she confronted him, demanding to know why he had been avoiding her.

Lian Ruoshen apologized, explaining he wanted to improve himself before facing her again. Pei Xiaoyun urged him not to hide anymore and to communicate openly, to which he agreed. Later, Jiang Dian received a phone call from his mother, who sternly reminded him about his visa interview and dismissed his passion for physics, insisting he focus on economics. She warned him against disobedience and abruptly ended the call.

Upset by the call, Jiang Dian was in a somber mood when Cheng Feng arrived at his home with the soup he had left behind. Seeking solace, he hugged her. Cheng Feng light-heartedly commented on his affluent home, and Jiang Dian clarified that it was merely a "resting place," not a real home, before leading her to his room.

He confided in her about his mother's emotional neglect and constant attempts to control his life, which made him feel indifferent to achievements and failures. Cheng Feng gently reasoned with him, suggesting his mother's life planning was a flawed form of care. When she asked about his habit of folding paper planes, Jiang Dian revealed he wished to send his dreams flying with them. Cheng Feng wholeheartedly supported his aspirations and offered to stay the night with him.

Their intimacy grew, but Jiang Dian gently stopped her, saying he knew she was just trying to comfort him and he couldn't let her feel wronged. He insisted they should rest properly for his upcoming competition. The next morning, Cheng Feng made breakfast. Jiang Dian affectionately asked her to drive him to the airport. However, Cheng Feng received an urgent call from her book cafe about a large event booking, requiring her immediate return.

Jiang Dian, accompanied by Professor Chen, departed for Hua City, visibly disappointed. At the airport, Professor Chen attempted to cheer him up by quoting "absence makes the heart grow fonder." Upon arriving at his hotel in Hua City, Jiang Dian was surprised and delighted to find Cheng Feng waiting for him. Since the hotel was fully booked, Cheng Feng had to stay elsewhere. Concerned for her, Jiang Dian bought her numerous necessities and advised her to stay warm.

Cheng Feng playfully suggested he stay with her if he was so worried, and he eagerly agreed. She then reminded him not to be greedy, but gave him a kiss before he reluctantly left. That evening, Professor Chen gathered Jiang Dian and other students for dinner. He took the opportunity to recommend Jiang Dian for a fluid mechanics research project, highlighting its importance. Jiang Dian remained contemplative, torn between this opportunity and his mother's prearranged path.

The next day, as Jiang Dian went to take the physics competition, Cheng Feng waited outside, offering a kiss and promising to provide him with the emotional support his parents never gave. While Jiang Dian took his exam, Cheng Feng explored a nearby ancient town. She later received a call from Baoling, who asked her to choreograph Lian Ruoshen's debut song.

Cheng Feng agreed, revealing her plan to open a dance studio and attributing her newfound ambition to Jiang Dian inspiring her to become better. Meanwhile, Lian Ruoshen was elated by the news and enthusiastically practiced the song Lu Bie had composed for him. His practice was interrupted by Pei Xiaoyun, who, frustrated to learn he hadn't given up on his entertainment dreams, walked away in anger. After the competition, Jiang Dian emerged feeling he might have failed.

He was surprised to find Cheng Feng still waiting, and she explained she knew he would want to see her first. He confessed his fear of becoming too dependent on her and of their relationship being a dream. Cheng Feng then proposed they go on a date.

Episode 11 Recap

Cheng Feng accompanied Jiang Dian to the physics competition. Afterward, they enjoyed a romantic date on the streets of Hua City. Jiang Dian expressed his fear of being unable to live without Cheng Feng, or that their happiness might just be a dream. Cheng Feng initiated a date, and they shared a meal of BBQ, had a portrait drawn, and walked together.

Cheng Feng then confessed her love, saying she had been too closed off in the past and hurt him, but promised to treat him better to overwrite his past unhappiness with sweet memories. She told Jiang Dian, "Dian, I love you," and gave him a couple's ring. Jiang Dian reciprocated with "Cheng, I love you, too," and promised to one day replace the ring with a wedding ring. They shared a romantic kiss by a musical fountain.

Unknown to them, Chen Huiyun, Jiang Dian's mother, who was in Hua City for a business dinner, nearly spotted them. After their date, Jiang Dian walked Cheng Feng back to her inn, confiding that no one had ever truly cared for him until she came into his life. Later, he received a call from his mother, who revealed she was also in Hua City and asked to meet him at his hotel.

Realizing she was checking up on him, Jiang Dian rushed to the hotel and arranged an alibi with the help of an empathetic front desk clerk. His mother called again while he was with his professor, leading to a heated argument over the phone about his passion for physics. Distraught, Jiang Dian left his professor and hurried to Cheng Feng's inn. He found her waiting outside, explaining that she felt he might need her.

Back in her room, she comforted him and assured him of her unwavering support for his dreams. Their intimacy deepened as they embraced, with Cheng Feng expressing her wish to lie in his arms every day, a reality Jiang Dian promised to create for her. The next morning, Jiang Dian woke to find Cheng Feng gone, with only a note explaining she had an urgent matter and left early.

The inn owner confirmed Cheng Feng had departed in a hurry, constantly on her phone, and taken a taxi to the airport. Jiang Dian's calls to Cheng Feng went unanswered. He then called the Half Moon Book Cafe, where he learned Cheng Feng was back but too busy to talk.

Cheng Feng was, in fact, dealing with the unexpected news that her landlord suddenly wanted to sell the book cafe's building for three million yuan, giving her only ten days to gather the money, despite her efforts to persuade him not to sell previously. Meanwhile, Lian Ruoshen, distraught over Pei Xiaoyun, dramatically declared his intentions from a balcony, prompting his friends, Lu Bie and another, to intervene, fearing he might jump.

Lian Ruoshen denied suicidal thoughts, vowing to achieve success and make Pei Xiaoyun regret her actions. Pei Xiaoyun, overhearing this, became even more annoyed and rebuffed his attempts to reconcile, telling him to let her go as she was too busy to care for his antics. Lian Ruoshen spotted Jiang Dian's mother arriving at the school and quickly texted Jiang Dian a warning. It was too late. Jiang Dian arrived at the school and immediately encountered his mother, Chen Huiyun.

She angrily confronted his physics professor, accusing him of encouraging Jiang Dian to abandon his visa interview for the physics competition. The professor defended the university's policy of respecting student choices and highlighted Jiang Dian's talent and passion for physics. Chen Huiyun then turned on Jiang Dian, accusing him of deception, claiming she only discovered his participation in the competition by checking his flight information. Jiang Dian insisted he hadn't lied, but that she never listened to him.

Their argument continued at home, where Chen Huiyun asserted that as the sole heir of the Jiang family corporation, he must fulfill his responsibilities and could not pursue physics. She declared her intention to reschedule his visa interview and send him abroad. Jiang Dian firmly refused, stating he would never go abroad. Infuriated, his mother threatened to cut off all his financial resources.

Jiang Dian retorted that he hadn't used any of the money she'd given him and dared her to cut him off. Chen Huiyun, overcome with anger, suffered from stomach pain, with only Miss Wen, her secretary, offering comfort and medicine. Jiang Dian, emotionally drained, went to the Half Moon Book Cafe but couldn't find Cheng Feng. He ended up drinking with Lian Ruoshen and Lu Bie, with Lian Ruoshen lamenting Pei Xiaoyun's inability to see his good qualities.

Lu Bie suggested they go to a "bonesetting center" to relax, but Jiang Dian declined, opting to leave. Cheng Feng, meanwhile, was stressed trying to secure the 3 million yuan for the book cafe, checking her bank balance to find just over 800,000 yuan. Lu Bie messaged Cheng Feng, informing her about Jiang Dian's fight with his mother and his low spirits.

Cheng Feng found Jiang Dian, who confronted her for leaving without a word and being uncontactable, expressing his anxiety and fear of losing her, believing their relationship was a fragile dream. Cheng Feng apologized, explaining she hadn't meant to upset him. Jiang Dian confided that his parents no longer cared for him, leaving him feeling like a "homeless kid." Cheng Feng tenderly reassured him, "This is your home." They embraced, and their intimacy deepened.

The next morning, as they lay together, Cheng Feng playfully told Jiang Dian that as long as he didn't let go of her hand, she would always be by his side, and he must be responsible for her. Their tender moment was interrupted when Bao Ling walked in, making a teasing comment about their early morning activities. After Jiang Dian left for school, Bao Ling discussed Lian Ruoshen's upcoming debut song and dance choreography with Cheng Feng.

Pei Xiaoyun then arrived, but upon seeing Bao Ling, turned to leave. Bao Ling followed, apologizing for signing Lian Ruoshen, but Pei Xiaoyun declared she would no longer involve herself in Lian Ruoshen's affairs, having tried her best as both an assistant teacher and a friend, concluding he was "impenetrably thickheaded." Bao Ling defended Lian Ruoshen, arguing he was simply pursuing his passion and that his efforts were, in part, to prove himself to Pei Xiaoyun.

Pei Xiaoyun, however, stated that it was his choice, as long as he didn't regret it. Pressed for time and money, Cheng Feng called Rich to accept the HA endorsement. Rich then called Zhou Yao, excitedly informing him of Cheng Feng's agreement and inviting him to a meeting to finalize cooperation details. Jiang Dian later saw a news report on "Entertainment Hot Events" announcing Cheng Feng and Zhou Yao as the new HA brand ambassadors, emphasizing their "couple-like" image.

Enraged, Jiang Dian rushed to the Half Moon Book Cafe, where he encountered Zhou Yao descending the stairs. Zhou Yao provocatively stated Cheng Feng had invited him upstairs and taunted Jiang Dian about their "couple photo shoot" for HA. Cheng Feng intervened, stopping Jiang Dian from physically assaulting Zhou Yao. She then asked Rich and Zhou Yao to leave, promising to "coax her boyfriend."

Jiang Dian confronted Cheng Feng, furious that she had accepted the endorsement despite knowing Zhou Yao was involved, and urged her to decline it. Cheng Feng maintained it was "just a job" and there was "nothing to avoid," dismissing his feelings. Jiang Dian, heartbroken, expressed his disappointment, believing he held no significance in her heart, and angrily stormed out, reiterating his desire for her to have no contact with Zhou Yao.

Episode 12 Recap

As a severe storm approached, Cheng Feng went out with an umbrella in search of Jiang Dian. She passed him by without noticing as he walked disconsolately. Jiang Dian, witnessing some ruffians bullying a girl, lashed out and beat them back, releasing his frustration. When Cheng Feng returned home, having failed to find him, she discovered Jiang Dian drenched and asleep on her doorstep.

Rushing to embrace him, Cheng Feng listened as Jiang Dian expressed his profound realization that he no longer had a home. She comforted him with a kiss, leading to their reconciliation. Back inside, Cheng Feng checked Jiang Dian's temperature, which was 38. 3 degrees, though he comically exaggerated it to forty degrees and claimed his whole body ached. Despite her initial refusal to coddle him, Jiang Dian's vulnerability softened her heart.

The next morning, he sincerely apologized for making her angry, getting into fights, disappearing, and most importantly, for doubting her. Cheng Feng emphasized that trust was the bedrock of their relationship, urging him not to quarrel over insignificant matters or people and to always believe in each other. Jiang Dian admitted his trust in her was unwavering, but his insecurity, stemming from feeling less capable than Zhou Yao, fueled his self-doubt.

Cheng Feng reassured him that her love was unrelated to his capabilities. She then explained that she accepted the endorsement to earn money to purchase her book cafe from the landlord, who planned to sell it. Her ambition was to transform it into a dance studio, using the endorsement to boost her public profile and attract students, explicitly stating that Zhou Yao had no part in her decision.

Jiang Dian expressed his disappointment that she hadn't confided in him earlier, arguing that as her boyfriend, it was his duty to share her burdens and that hiding such issues made him feel useless and unneeded. He implored her to share future problems with him immediately. Demonstrating his commitment, Jiang Dian offered her 700,000 yuan from his savings—money he'd earned from part-time jobs, scholarships, and patent sales, originally intended to escape his mother.

He no longer needed it, he explained, because he had found a home and a reason to stay with her. Cheng Feng, however, refused the money, asserting that his emotional support had already been invaluable. She declared her intention to independently rebuild her life, aspiring to become a more accomplished version of herself, worthy of her "physicist."

Shortly after, Professor Chen, Jiang Dian's physics instructor, urgently called him to his office, joyfully congratulating him on winning the National Physics Competition of College Students. Professor Chen proudly announced that he had taken the liberty of recommending Jiang Dian for an exclusive Master Salon abroad, a gathering of top physicists. Jiang Dian accepted the offer but asked the professor to oversee the sale of his patent.

Professor Chen also revealed that Jiang Dian's major transfer from business to physics had been specially approved by the university, crediting his recent win. Jiang Dian affirmed that this decision was his own, made independently of his mother, Chen Huiyun, and he no longer felt the need to discuss it with her. The book cafe, now buzzing with customers due to Cheng Feng's endorsement, attracted Zhou Yao, who came seeking her out.

He offered to compensate her for his past wrongs and to drive her to the HA endorsement shoot. Cheng Feng sternly rejected his advances, warning him to keep his distance or she would "expose him." She challenged him to apologize to her mother for stealing the birthday dance he had once gifted. Undeterred, Zhou Yao pressured her to go to the shoot to avoid delays.

Just as Cheng Feng was about to leave, Jiang Dian arrived on his motorcycle, whisking her away, much to Zhou Yao's annoyance. As Zhou Yao departed, a cafe employee inadvertently revealed to him that Cheng Feng had taken the endorsement purely out of financial necessity for the book cafe.

At the endorsement shoot, the director struggled to elicit the required passion between Cheng Feng and Zhou Yao for the "willful and unrestrained love" theme, as Cheng Feng visibly recoiled from Zhou Yao. Growing increasingly jealous, Jiang Dian intervened, halting the shoot. Cheng Feng quickly introduced him as her boyfriend, and Jiang Dian boldly stepped in to help her find her "state."

They shared a passionate kiss and posed intimately, instantly capturing the director's attention, who ordered the cameras to roll. Zhou Yao, watching the display, signaled Pang Ting to prepare for their next event. To prevent further disruptions, Cheng Feng gently persuaded Jiang Dian to go to his bar job, promising to meet him at home once her shoot concluded. Meanwhile, An Yin visited Cheng Feng at the book cafe.

Earlier, her former mentor had criticized her for losing her dancing spirit and becoming a burden to Cheng Feng. An Yin watched Cheng Feng dance, her smile masking a simmering jealousy for Cheng Feng's talent. Outwardly, she praised Cheng Feng's international endorsement and shared their master's old prophecy that Cheng Feng would achieve the greatest success among them. Cheng Feng told her she planned to open a dance studio, not return to the stage herself.

Later, while working at the 24K bar, Jiang Dian encountered his mother, Chen Huiyun, who was entertaining "Mr. Jiang," a shareholder whose vote she desperately needed to secure the chairmanship of her company. Chen Huiyun, seeing Jiang Dian working there instead of inheriting the family business, angrily confronted him. Their argument escalated, echoing past conflicts over his artistic and scientific pursuits.

In a flashback, Jiang Dian's former art teacher complained to Chen Huiyun about her interfering with Jiang Dian's artistic pursuits, to which Chen Huiyun responded that Jiang Dian only needed to study finance and business, coldly stating, "He doesn't need childhood," a sentiment echoed by Jiang Dian's father. The heated exchange with his mother ended with Jiang Dian storming out.

Disturbed by Jiang Dian's defiance, Chen Huiyun immediately called her secretary, Wen, ordering her to fire Jiang Dian from 24K and have him monitored daily. Seeking solace, Jiang Dian returned to Cheng Feng's, finding comfort in her warmth and the light she had left on for him. He confessed his mother's actions and his long history of being forced to abandon his passions.

Cheng Feng, holding him close, reassured him that she would never let go and would face all difficulties with him, reminding him that the book cafe was their shared home, a sanctuary that would shelter them from any storm. The next morning, Dai Baoling urgently called Cheng Feng, informing her that she was trending. News reports were circulating vile rumors that Cheng Feng had caused her former dancing partner, An Yin, lifelong disability.

It was revealed that Zhou Yao's fanatical fans, instigated by Pang Ting, were behind the smear campaign, focusing on portraying Cheng Feng as a "vicious" woman who had "destroyed An Yin's dreams," alleging An Yin was now tragically working alone in a charity house. The truth, however, was that during a past competition, Cheng Feng’s mother was in a car accident, forcing Cheng Feng to withdraw.

An Yin, seizing the opportunity to perform Cheng Feng's choreography as a replacement, tragically fell and injured her leg, ending her dancing career. Meanwhile, Jiang Dian confronted the paparazzi assigned to monitor him. The paparazzo confessed he was hired by a "Ms. Wen," Chen Huiyun's secretary. Jiang Dian offered him triple his original pay to continue taking photos, but specifically instructed him not to photograph Cheng Feng, and to send the "normal" photos to his client as instructed.

The paparazzo agreed, asking to become Jiang Dian's "subordinate." Jiang Dian promised to consider it if he proved reliable. Cheng Feng’s book cafe was soon besieged by reporters. She calmly confronted them, dismissing their "rumors" as unreliable and stating that her explanations would only be twisted into their own "surmises." She warned them against publishing falsehoods, promising legal action once she gathered her evidence, and offered them free drinks, asking only for mutual respect and not to disrupt her business.

Concerned about the negative publicity affecting Lian Ruoshen's upcoming debut audition, the company's head, DK, urged Dai Baoling to replace Cheng Feng as choreographer. Dai Baoling passionately defended Cheng Feng, arguing that replacing her was impractical due to time constraints and Lian Ruoshen’s lack of dance experience. She highlighted Cheng Feng's unique ability to tailor choreography to an artist's strengths.

Though DK suggested keeping Cheng Feng but omitting her name from credits, Dai Baoling argued that current netizens were too adept at uncovering details and that honesty was the best policy. She staked her career on Lian Ruoshen's success, guaranteeing he would "create ripples" in the entertainment industry, which DK accepted. Shortly after, Pang Ting confronted Dai Baoling, gloating about Cheng Feng's predicament and mockingly challenging Dai Baoling to retract her guarantee.

Dai Baoling retaliated by grabbing Pang Ting's hand, warning her to keep her hands out of Cheng Feng's affairs, or she would "cripple" them. Lian Ruoshen, having heard about Cheng Feng's troubles, called Dai Baoling, informing her that he and Lu Bie were on their way to the book cafe to protect Cheng Feng, a request from Jiang Dian. They also planned to prepare a surprise for Cheng Feng and asked Dai Baoling for ideas.

Dai Baoling advised that any heartfelt gesture would be appreciated, but Lian Ruoshen insisted on something special, saying Dai Baoling knew Cheng Feng best because Cheng Feng treated her like family. Dai Baoling then shared Cheng Feng's deepest desires. Meanwhile, Jiang Dian formally introduced himself to his new physics class, declaring his transfer from the Business Administration department.

Professor Chen then elaborated on Jiang Dian’s exceptional talent in physics, especially in fluid mechanics, explaining that he had personally recruited him to bolster their team and ensure the success of their challenging new project.

Episode 13 Recap

Cheng Feng, intent on proving her innocence, contacted Lisa, an organizer of the 2015 European International Dance Competition, to request backstage recordings of herself and An Yin. Lisa informed her that recent data organization might have led to the deletion of these files but promised to search for backups, acknowledging Cheng Feng's urgent need. At Cheng Feng's book cafe, a group of hostile fans caused a commotion, falsely accusing the cafe of serving dessert with a fly in it.

When a staff member offered a replacement and asked them to stop breaking items, the fans escalated their demands, insisting on an apology and a complimentary meal. Cheng Feng calmly intervened. She agreed to an apology but first demanded compensation for the broken Italian plate, which was part of an expensive set now rendered incomplete. She quoted a price of 4,000 yuan.

Cheng Feng sternly told the fans not to abuse their youth and act recklessly, making it clear she was not their parent or boyfriend to spoil them. She also warned them to delete any videos they had recorded, threatening to sue them for invasion of privacy. Intimidated, the fans paid the compensation and left. Lian Ruoshen and Lu Bie, who were present, expressed their admiration for Cheng Feng’s assertive handling of the situation.

Soon after, An Yin called Cheng Feng, informing her that numerous reporters had gathered at the Welfare House. Cheng Feng immediately headed there. Worried about Cheng Feng, Lian Ruoshen and Lu Bie called Jiang Dian, asking him to go protect her. Jiang Dian confirmed he would. At the Welfare House, An Yin was being questioned by reporters about the 2015 competition.

An Yin gave evasive answers, denying Cheng Feng was an irresponsible person but hinting that Cheng Feng left without notice due to urgent matters. When asked if Cheng Feng's absence caused her injury, An Yin redirected, stating she was hurt because she was not accustomed to dancing alone, not because of Cheng Feng. A reporter suggested Cheng Feng’s actions indirectly caused the injury, but An Yin insisted it was her own clumsiness.

The reporters then probed into the impact of her injury and if her boyfriend ended their relationship due to her disability. An Yin feigned distress, refusing to answer further. As Cheng Feng arrived, reporters immediately swarmed her, accusing her of causing An Yin's leg injury and claiming her years of charity work were merely an act of atonement. Before Cheng Feng could fully respond, An Yin deliberately fell, further manipulating the scene to make Cheng Feng appear heartless.

Jiang Dian and Dai Baoling arrived swiftly, intercepting the aggressive reporters and escorting An Yin and Cheng Feng away. Jiang Dian expressed concern for Cheng Feng, but she asked him to wait outside as she wished to speak with An Yin alone. An Yin, still maintaining her innocent facade, inquired if Cheng Feng was hurt and thanked her and Jiang Dian for their intervention. Cheng Feng assured her that she would resolve the current situation.

Later, Rich, Cheng Feng's contact for the HA endorsement, called to inform her that the endorsement shooting was suspended due to the significant negative impact the scandal had on the brand. Cheng Feng calmly accepted this, stating she understood. An Yin, observing Cheng Feng’s composure, noted how much she had changed from her previously pessimistic self. Cheng Feng explained that she wanted to become a better person for herself and for Jiang Dian.

An Yin subtly touched her injured leg, seemingly disappointed that the endorsement was merely suspended and not fully terminated. After the call, Dai Baoling suggested that An Yin, as the affected party, could publicly clarify the events to help Cheng Feng. Cheng Feng, however, dismissed the idea, believing it would only lead to accusations of using a friend to whitewash her image, further exacerbating her troubles. Dai Baoling then pledged to uncover the true culprit behind the malicious rumors.

Back at the book cafe, Jiang Dian and Dai Baoling accompanied Cheng Feng. Lian Ruoshen and Lu Bie, dressed in comical sumo wrestling costumes, performed a dance to cheer Cheng Feng up. They then gathered for a hotpot dinner, to which Lian Ruoshen had also invited Pei Xiaoyun. Dai Baoling directly confronted Pei Xiaoyun about their strained friendship, proposing a toast to put their past disagreements behind them if they could reconcile.

Pei Xiaoyun accepted the toast, explaining her anger stemmed from Dai Baoling secretly encouraging her student to enter the entertainment industry without her knowledge, an act she strongly disapproved of. She admitted that she had thought a lot and may have been unreasonable. They reconciled, though Pei Xiaoyun playfully postponed making peace with Lian Ruoshen. Later, Lian Ruoshen escorted a tipsy Pei Xiaoyun, indicating he had something to discuss with her.

That evening, Jiang Dian played the violin for Cheng Feng, who danced gracefully, momentarily forgetting her recent troubles. Their shared emotions led to a passionate night together. In the early hours, Jiang Dian discreetly got up to continue his investigation into the source of the rumors for Cheng Feng. Meanwhile, An Yin, still frustrated that Cheng Feng's endorsement was only suspended, called Pang Ting to strategize.

Pang Ting advised An Yin to give a public interview, making direct accusations against Cheng Feng to definitively ruin her career. The next morning, Rich arrived with a termination agreement for Cheng Feng’s HA endorsement. Cheng Feng was shocked to learn that An Yin had indeed given an interview, publicly blaming her for her disability. Though heartbroken, Cheng Feng agreed to sign the termination contract but firmly refused to admit guilt for An Yin's accusations.

Rich, trusting Cheng Feng’s character as a genuine dancer, managed to waive the penalty, requiring only the return of the initial remuneration. As Cheng Feng prepared to sign, Jiang Dian intervened, revealing he had found the IP address of the source of the rumors and asked for more time, believing he could expose the truth and turn the situation around.

Rich, however, warned that the widespread negative public opinion was too deeply entrenched; people would only believe what they wanted to believe, and the company needed to distance itself from the scandal quickly. Despite Jiang Dian's efforts, Cheng Feng signed the agreement. Determined to find answers, Cheng Feng and Jiang Dian went to the internet cafe associated with the IP address.

They confronted the online posters, who, pressured by Jiang Dian's threat of legal action and Cheng Feng’s reminder of their past violent crimes—including nearly beating her boyfriend to death and causing his imprisonment—revealed that An Yin was the true instigator. They also provided Cheng Feng with a voice recording that exposed An Yin manipulating them. Shocked by An Yin’s betrayal, Cheng Feng and Jiang Dian went to the Welfare House to confront her.

An Yin feigned innocence, acting surprised by Cheng Feng’s visit and congratulating her on her promotion to deputy director. Cheng Feng, however, sarcastically congratulated An Yin on her rapid ascent and confronted her about her duplicity. An Yin tried to justify her interview by claiming it was arranged by the director to benefit the Welfare House and that she intended to clarify things for Cheng Feng. Cheng Feng cut her off, playing the damning recording.

Furious that a child had exposed her, An Yin dropped her facade. She expressed deep resentment, blaming Cheng Feng for her unfulfilled dreams, always being compared to her, missing the competition, and suffering her permanent leg injury, declaring that Cheng Feng had ruined her life. Cheng Feng scoffed at An Yin's self-pity and formally severed all ties, stating they would no longer have any relationship. Enraged, An Yin immediately made a phone call, seeking outside help.

Back at the book cafe, Cheng Feng was visibly distressed. Jiang Dian had to leave for school to discuss selling his patent with "Old Chen." Cheng Feng, wanting to spare him worry, downplayed her feelings, assuring him she was fine and had the recording as a backup. Dai Baoling, hearing about An Yin's twisted behavior, expressed her shock.

Cheng Feng admitted she felt partially responsible for An Yin's initial accident due to her sudden departure from the competition, which is why she had helped An Yin for years, never expecting such deep-seated resentment to be directed at her. Dai Baoling worried about An Yin having further plans.

Cheng Feng intended to use the recording as a countermeasure if An Yin continued her schemes, but she wanted to wait, as Jiang Dian was due to travel abroad for the Master Salon, a crucial event for his career, and she didn't want to distract him. Meanwhile, at the lab, "Old Chen" informed Jiang Dian that his patent was valued at 300,000 yuan.

Jiang Dian, eager to help Cheng Feng with her financial burdens, urged Old Chen to finalize the sale immediately. That night, while Jiang Dian was working late in the lab, someone attempted to break into the book cafe.

Episode 14 Recap

Cheng Feng was startled awake when a thief attempted to steal her phone at the book cafe. Jiang Dian arrived promptly, chasing the intruder, but the phone was ultimately taken. Cheng Feng reassured Jiang Dian, urging him not to let this incident deter him from attending the Master Salon, a crucial event for his physics dreams. Although Jiang Dian verbally agreed, he harbored other intentions. The following day, Cheng Feng assisted Lian Ruoshen and Baoling with their choreography.

During the session, Zhou Yao and Pang Ting arrived, with Zhou Yao claiming to be a judge for the scoring. Zhou Yao then cornered Cheng Feng, offering to suppress the negative online rumors about her. Cheng Feng scoffed at his offer, stating that his failure to actively worsen her situation was already a form of assistance.

Later, after Lian Ruoshen’s captivating performance garnered high scores and praise from the big bosses, one of them, DK, recognized Cheng Feng’s talent and invited her to choreograph for Zhou Yao’s new album. Cheng Feng, however, flatly refused, openly expressing her strong dislike for Zhou Yao.

Baoling quickly stepped in to smooth things over, explaining that Cheng Feng had retired from the industry and was merely helping a friend, and that her schedule was fully booked with Lian Ruoshen’s upcoming dances. Undeterred, Zhou Yao pursued Cheng Feng, offering to help her reclaim her HA endorsement in an attempt to reconcile. Cheng Feng firmly rejected his advances, declaring that she would never return to him, regardless of his persistent efforts.

Meanwhile, Lian Ruoshen publicly dedicated a song to Xiaoyun on stage, delighting her. She ran up to present him with flowers, proudly declaring herself his first fan, and Lian Ruoshen pulled her into a hug, thanking her for her support. Back at the book cafe, Cheng Feng anxiously kept checking her new phone, wondering why Jiang Dian hadn't contacted her, assuming his plane for the Master Salon had landed.

Unbeknownst to her, Jiang Dian had not left for the Master Salon. Instead, he had been tracking down the thief who had stolen her phone. He received a call from someone who had traced the thief to Happiness Street, where Hao Xiang was already monitoring him. The thief, cornered, contacted An Yin, warning her to be careful. An Yin, after discarding her phone to destroy evidence, told him to keep her out of it.

Jiang Dian successfully apprehended the thief and took him to the police station. Cheng Feng was shocked to receive a call from the police, informing her about Jiang Dian’s actions. She rushed to the police station, furious at Jiang Dian for prioritizing her phone over his career-defining Master Salon. Cheng Feng expressed her frustration, saying she could handle the matter herself and he shouldn't distract himself from his physics research and dreams.

Jiang Dian felt misunderstood, believing Cheng Feng implied she didn't need him at all, and he left angrily. Distraught over their argument, Cheng Feng then received good news: a contact had located the backstage video from her international dance competition. She immediately forwarded the video evidence to Baoling, instructing her to combine it with Lian Ruoshen’s promotional campaign to create a trending topic online.

When Baoling asked if she was truly ready to take such a step, Cheng Feng responded that given An Yin’s restless nature, she had no reason to be lenient. Later, a nervous Lian Ruoshen, unable to sleep before his album release, invited Jiang Dian and Lu Bie for a barbecue.

After leaving a drunken Lian Ruoshen with Lu Bie, Jiang Dian attempted to reconcile with Cheng Feng by sending her a misleading photo of a pool of blood on the ground next to his very minor cut. Cheng Feng, having left her phone at home, went to find him directly.

Upon seeing his trivial injury, she chided him for being dramatic, but then noticed the blood on the ground and angrily asked if he had sent a picture of it to scare her. Jiang Dian quickly denied sending any photo, and they reconciled after he apologized. As they headed home, Jiang Dian feigned hunger to send Cheng Feng to the kitchen, giving him a chance to find her phone and delete the incriminating photo.

But before he could, Cheng Feng returned. She inadvertently discovered her phone in his pocket and saw the photo of the blood. Upset by his immaturity and manipulative behavior, Cheng Feng confronted him. Jiang Dian, desperate to make amends, spent the night folding numerous paper planes. The next morning, he surprised Cheng Feng with a ceiling adorned with paper planes, declaring that in his life, physics and Cheng Feng were his two most important passions.

He told her she was the light that illuminated his darkness, and he could live without starlight, but not without her. Deeply moved, Cheng Feng kissed him, vowing to protect the goodness he represented. The backstage video from the dance competition ignited a massive online debate. The footage revealed An Yin approaching an organizer, insisting on converting her and Cheng Feng's duet into a solo performance for herself.

Despite the organizer’s strong reservations about the rule violation and the fact that Cheng Feng was the registered lead dancer, An Yin vehemently argued for the opportunity. The online community quickly understood that Cheng Feng was innocent and that An Yin had schemed to steal her spot. Enraged by the viral video, An Yin was confronted by Cheng Feng, who warned her against harming anyone close to her, especially Jiang Dian, promising severe consequences if she did.

An Yin retorted with bitterness, describing her life as a dancer who could no longer dance as a living hell, and wishing that Cheng Feng would also never see sunlight. The public outcry was overwhelmingly in favor of Cheng Feng, with many questioning An Yin’s character as a teacher. Consequently, under immense public pressure, the welfare institute’s director informed An Yin that she was being terminated from her position.

Episode 15 Recap

Pei Xiaoyun excitedly told Cheng Feng that she was a trending topic again, this time with good news. She expressed surprise at Miss An's true nature, recalling how they had felt sorry for her injury, only to find out Miss An had arbitrarily insisted on her involvement in the choreography. Cheng Feng calmly revealed that she had asked Dai Baoling to spread the news.

Pei Xiaoyun then felt slighted, realizing she was the last to know, and accused Cheng Feng of being biased. Cheng Feng playfully countered, noting that Jiang Dian had once said she was not devoted, and now Pei Xiaoyun called her biased, so at least she had a heart. Pei Xiaoyun then admired a music box Jiang Dian had given Cheng Feng, expressing envy that Cheng Feng was loved by such an excellent man.

Cheng Feng, however, pointed out Pei Xiaoyun's own affection for an excellent person, Lian Ruoshen, asking if he was still merely her student. Pei Xiaoyun insisted he was, but Cheng Feng pressed her on it. At Royal Entertainment, the big boss praised Lian Ruoshen for his EP sales, which had exceeded ten million copies, calling it a good start and instructing Dai Baoling to follow up on publicity and arrange a celebration party.

Dai Baoling assured him they would not disappoint. The boss then questioned Zhou Yao if he felt pressure, urging him not to fall behind. Zhou Yao admitted to feeling the pressure but saw it as motivation, promising not to disappoint. Pang Ting echoed his sentiment. Lian Ruoshen, still processing his rapid success, asked Dai Baoling if he was truly famous. He profusely thanked her, crediting her for his achievements.

Dai Baoling jokingly cut him off before leaving for a publicity meeting. Lian Ruoshen then found Pei Xiaoyun, joyfully telling her he had succeeded. He gave her a special bottle he bought because she usually didn't drink enough water. He then invited her to a special place, dismissing her suggestion to invite others, saying he only wanted to be with her.

At an amusement park, Lian Ruoshen surprised Pei Xiaoyun by revealing he had booked the entire place, even preparing suitable clothes for her to enjoy the rides. They had a blast, with Pei Xiaoyun playfully calling him a scoundrel after one ride. She then expressed regret for her past nagging and lack of support for his singing, but Lian Ruoshen interrupted, saying they would only talk about their happiness that day, not academic or career matters.

Dai Baoling visited Cheng Feng's book cafe, complimenting her dedication to her business. She announced her intention to invest in Cheng Feng's dance studio and partner with her in the future, emphasizing that both she and Lian Ruoshen valued friendship and would not abandon those who helped them. Dai Baoling then enthusiastically recounted how Lian Ruoshen, before even receiving his first payment, had thoughtfully bought her a massage chair.

Just then, a staff member announced that a massage chair for Cheng Feng, also from Lian Ruoshen, had arrived. Dai Baoling was visibly embarrassed, while Cheng Feng simply requested it be returned, citing lack of space. Cheng Feng then playfully exposed Dai Baoling's true feelings, asking when she had fallen for Lian Ruoshen. Dai Baoling confessed it began at the university anniversary when his singing deeply moved her, and she was later impressed by his bold and resilient character.

Cheng Feng asked if she knew Lian Ruoshen's feelings, but Dai Baoling stated she didn't care whom he liked, only who she liked, promising not to cause trouble for anyone and asking Cheng Feng to keep her feelings a secret. Cheng Feng jokingly declined to choreograph Lian Ruoshen's future dances for free, stating she also needed to provide for her boyfriend. Later, Jiang Dian and Cheng Feng stood before a large phoenix artwork.

Jiang Dian explained it was his inspiration, expressing his hope that they would always rise anew, overcoming any future obstacles together. They then shared a passionate kiss. Meanwhile, at Cheng Feng's dance studio, many prospective students were signing up. However, the landlord arrived, expressing concern about a dance class damaging the expensive floors and demanding Cheng Feng buy the building outright if she intended to proceed. Cheng Feng assured her she would, but the landlord insisted on immediate payment.

Cheng Feng asked Jiang Dian to manage the students while she privately spoke with the landlord. As she walked away, students began to demand refunds, expressing doubts about the reliability of the studio given the situation. The landlord attempted to force Cheng Feng to sign a lease termination, citing Cheng Feng's supposed financial difficulties, but Cheng Feng refused, stating her contract was still legally binding.

The landlord then revealed that another buyer had offered an additional one million yuan above the original price for immediate payment. She offered Cheng Feng the chance to buy the building for three million yuan by the next day, otherwise, she would reclaim it. Jiang Dian, overhearing, confronted the landlord, accusing her of forceful selling and aggressively pressuring his girlfriend. Zhou Yao then appeared, offering to pay Cheng Feng's debt.

The landlord subtly encouraged Cheng Feng to choose an older, wealthy, and considerate boyfriend like Zhou Yao. Cheng Feng dismissed the landlord and sharply told Zhou Yao to leave and stop being an eyesore. Zhou Yao insisted he was the only one who could help her, but Cheng Feng, holding Jiang Dian's hand, firmly told Zhou Yao to stay away, not wanting her boyfriend to be jealous.

Zhou Yao, undeterred, told Cheng Feng to call him if she needed help, as his number hadn't changed. The landlord then sneered at Cheng Feng's choice of boyfriend. Cheng Feng confided in Jiang Dian that they might have to move, but he reassured her they would face it together. Jiang Dian received a message from Lian Ruoshen, asking him to watch an interview. In the interview, Lian Ruoshen’s rapid rise to fame was discussed.

He initially made a joke about being compared to Eddie Peng, then emphasized cultivation over appearance. He then sincerely attributed his success to his own efforts, the support of his fans, and the help of his friends. He specifically thanked his "talent scout" agent Dai Baoling, choreographer Cheng Feng, and his good friend Lu Bie for songwriting.

At the entertainment company, the big boss criticized Zhou Yao's new song choreography, stating it lacked the youthful vigor of Lian Ruoshen's dance, describing it as ordinary and soulless. He suggested postponing the release. Pang Ting argued against this, highlighting Zhou Yao's year of preparation and the potential harm to his career and fan base. Zhou Yao proposed collaborating with Cheng Feng again, leveraging her renewed fame from Lian Ruoshen's MV.

He argued to the boss that her current financial difficulties made it the perfect time to approach her, as an offer of cooperation would be a timely rescue. Pang Ting clenched her fist in frustration. Later, Pang Ting learned via a phone call that Zhou Yao's endorsement deal had been switched to Lian Ruoshen because the brand owner's mother preferred him. Zhou Yao, concerned he might become a has-been, was reassured by Pang Ting.

Cheng Feng calculated she still needed 1. 2 million yuan. Dai Baoling generously offered her 300,000 yuan, her life savings, and even suggested selling her cherished bags and car. Cheng Feng, unwilling to let her make such sacrifices, gently declined. Dai Baoling then suggested signing a strategic cooperation agreement with Royal Entertainment, as DK had previously shown interest. Cheng Feng refused, stating she did not want any further involvement with Zhou Yao because of Jiang Dian.

Dai Baoling, though finding it amusing, expressed happiness for Cheng Feng's newfound passion and vowed to find other resources. Meanwhile, Lian Ruoshen was mobbed by fans at Linxi University. Jiang Dian and Cheng Feng walked hand-in-hand behind the crowds. When a sprinkler turned on, Jiang Dian shielded Cheng Feng with his jacket, and they shared a tender kiss. Unbeknownst to them, Chen Huiyun, Jiang Dian's mother, observed their intimacy.

She later confronted a professor, demanding that Jiang Dian withdraw from his research and cease contact with him, informing the professor that she had already arranged for Jiang Dian to study abroad. The professor advocated for Jiang Dian's talents and ambitions, urging Chen Huiyun to support him rather than control him. However, Chen Huiyun stated that Jiang Dian, as the sole heir of the Jiang family, was bound to a pre-arranged future, dismissing talent and ambition as irrelevant.

She further accused the professor of encouraging Jiang Dian's rebellious decision to change majors. Jiang Dian, receiving a call, learned his mother had discovered his major change and had to return home, assuring Cheng Feng he would handle it. Back at the book cafe, a staff member pointed out Chen Huiyun, who had been sitting ominously for a long time.

Cheng Feng politely greeted her, acknowledging her as Jiang Dian's mother, and calmly addressed Chen Huiyun's prior investigation into her background, offering to answer any questions directly. Chen Huiyun, refusing tea, stated her purpose directly: she wanted Cheng Feng to leave Jiang Dian. Cheng Feng asked if Jiang Dian knew of this visit, to which Chen Huiyun responded that he didn't need to know, as she controlled his life and had arranged for him to go abroad.

Cheng Feng subtly scoffed, noting Jiang Dian's resilience despite his upbringing. Chen Huiyun retorted by labeling Cheng Feng as a woman attempting to climb the social ladder. Cheng Feng, maintaining her composure, stated that while she respected Chen Huiyun as Jiang Dian's mother, she would not end their relationship unless Jiang Dian himself asked her to. Chen Huiyun warned her not to regret this decision.

The staff member, outraged by Chen Huiyun's lack of a dramatic financial offer, was told by Cheng Feng not to inform Jiang Dian. That night, Chen Huiyun confronted Jiang Dian at home, berating him for his secrets, including his major change and relationship. Jiang Dian, in turn, passionately defended Cheng Feng and criticized his mother's emotional distance and controlling nature, asserting that she had no right to be disappointed.

He vehemently refused to break up with Cheng Feng, even if it meant his death. Chen Huiyun dismissed his words as childish and gave him an ultimatum: break up with Cheng Feng and pursue physics, or lose physics entirely. Jiang Dian refused this "either/or" game, stating he desired both, and declared that he would decide his own life.

Enraged, Chen Huiyun ordered that he be confined in his room until his visa was processed, at which point he would be sent abroad. Jiang Dian struggled against his captors, refusing to go.

Episode 16 Recap

Jiang Dian, confined at home by his mother, Chen Huiyun, desperately demanded his release, stating that Cheng Feng would be worried. Chen Huiyun remained unyielding, dismissing his pleas and forbidding him from seeing "that woman." Jiang Dian questioned her hostility, asserting that he had finally found someone who loved him, only to be obstructed by his own mother. He then picked up a tile, threatening to harm himself. Chen Huiyun warned him against such theatrics, calling it a joke.

Jiang Dian retorted, asking to be let go if his distress was so laughable. Eventually, exasperated, Chen Huiyun relented, telling him to leave and never return. Jiang Dian walked out, tile in hand, as Chen Huiyun conceded to let him go. Meanwhile, Cheng Feng discovered a phone belonging to her landlord. It contained a message from Zhou Yao, instructing the landlord to pressure Cheng Feng to vacate the book cafe.

Confronted with the evidence, the landlord confessed that Zhou Yao had orchestrated the scheme to win Cheng Feng back, exploiting a past favor owed to him. Feeling guilty, the landlord offered Cheng Feng a revised deal: she could buy the book cafe for three million yuan if she paid him within two weeks, before he departed the country. Cheng Feng accepted. Cheng Feng then attended a meeting with DK at Royal Entertainment.

She agreed to sign a choreographer contract but stipulated that she would not choreograph for Zhou Yao. DK, surprised, explained that Zhou Yao was the company's top star and held priority for all resources. Cheng Feng countered by revealing that Zhou Yao's famous dance was plagiarized, which surprised DK. The negotiation stalled, and Cheng Feng, declining the offer, decided to leave.

Shortly after, Lian Ruoshen, having heard gossip, mistakenly informed Jiang Dian that Cheng Feng had signed with Royal Entertainment and would be choreographing for Zhou Yao. Rushing to the scene, Jiang Dian arrived just as Zhou Yao confronted Cheng Feng in an elevator. Zhou Yao accused her of revealing his secret to DK, but Cheng Feng rebuked him for his hypocrisy, reminding him of his deceitful collaboration with the landlord.

She declared that she had never truly loved him and was glad for his betrayal, as his feelings were purely exploitative. Zhou Yao, in a fit of anger, forcefully embraced Cheng Feng, unwilling to let go. Jiang Dian, witnessing the scene, punched Zhou Yao, initiating a brawl. Cheng Feng intervened by slapping Zhou Yao, defending Jiang Dian. Lian Ruoshen, observing the chaos, realized his misinformation had caused a significant misunderstanding.

Back at the book cafe, Jiang Dian was consumed by jealousy. He lashed out at Cheng Feng, questioning why she had gone to Zhou Yao and if he wasn't enough for her. He then forcefully kissed her. Cheng Feng pushed him away and demanded he let go, but Jiang Dian clung to her, desperately asking what he needed to do to earn her exclusive affection, pleading with her not to leave him.

Once he calmed down, Cheng Feng acknowledged his jealousy but criticized his hurtful and irrational behavior. Jiang Dian apologized, explaining his fear of abandonment stemmed from his mother's attempts to force their breakup, leaving him feeling like he would have no home if Cheng Feng left too. Cheng Feng understood and forgave him. Later, Lian Ruoshen messaged Jiang Dian, apologizing for his earlier mistake and clarifying that Cheng Feng had not agreed to choreograph for Zhou Yao.

Concerned by Jiang Dian's emotional outbursts, Cheng Feng consulted a psychologist. The psychologist, upon hearing Cheng Feng's account, concluded that Jiang Dian likely suffered from paranoid personality disorder, characterized by sensitivity, suspicion, stubbornness, jealousy, and a profound lack of security. This condition, the psychologist explained, originated from childhood emotional trauma and a lack of parental love, leaving him without an emotional anchor.

The psychologist clarified that severe deprivation in areas like familial affection often leads to low tolerance for emotional imperfections, manifesting as paranoia that can harm both himself and others. She advised Cheng Feng to provide Jiang Dian with immense security, cautioning that it would be a difficult task to become his sole emotional support. She also suggested keeping his diagnosis from him until he was mentally prepared, as a genius might struggle to accept such a problem.

To offer Jiang Dian a tangible sense of security, Cheng Feng linked her phone's location to his, telling him playfully that he could never lose her. Meanwhile, Jiang Dian's physics professor discussed a new, high-paying project with him, emphasizing the need for full commitment due to its tight schedule. Jiang Dian agreed but demanded 50% of the payment upfront.

Subsequently, Jiang Dian's father, Jiang Yi, visited him, attempting to win him over with a custom-made cello and a show of paternal concern. He confessed that Chen Huiyun was seeking a divorce and asked Jiang Dian to persuade her to stay, claiming he wanted to preserve their family.

Jiang Dian angrily dismissed his father's notion of "family," reminding him of his childhood mango allergy and how both parents had forced him to abandon playing the cello, highlighting their past emotional neglect. His father then offered to support Jiang Dian's relationship with Cheng Feng if he sided with him, revealing his true motive: he wanted Jiang Dian to reclaim company shares currently held by Chen Huiyun and transfer them to him, promising significant benefits.

Jiang Dian, however, refused to be drawn into his parents' conflict, asserting his independence and demanding his father cease interfering in his life. Cheng Feng met Chen Huiyun at Lanyue Restaurant, where Chen Huiyun immediately offered money and criticized Cheng Feng for "ruining" Jiang Dian. Cheng Feng firmly asserted her role as Jiang Dian's girlfriend and declared he was her future husband, warning Chen Huiyun against further imprisonment and threatening to call the police.

Chen Huiyun accused Cheng Feng of being manipulative, entangled with Zhou Yao while leading Jiang Dian on, and questioned her right to interfere with Jiang Dian's future as the Jiang Group's heir. Cheng Feng retorted that Jiang Dian preferred being with her than with his mother, and revealed that he had threatened suicide due to his mother's actions. Shocked by the mention of suicide, Chen Huiyun quickly dismissed it as a trick.

Cheng Feng emphasized that neither of them had the right to dictate Jiang Dian's future, urging Chen Huiyun to show him genuine motherly love and support his passions, rather than using him as a tool for her ambitions. During their heated exchange, Chen Huiyun received a call informing her that Jiang Yi's mistress was pregnant, momentarily distracting her. Later, Cheng Feng and Jiang Dian discussed their future.

Cheng Feng expressed that she no longer insisted on buying the book cafe, stating that as long as they were together, their location didn't matter. Jiang Dian reassured her that they would be very happy. Simultaneously, Lian Ruoshen faced severe online criticism, with netizens calling him arrogant and bad-tempered, urging him to leave the entertainment industry.

His agent, Baoling, admonished him for his lack of emotional control, reminding him of the constant scrutiny public figures face and the numerous rivals eager for his downfall. She swiftly moved to remove the negative trending topics and initiated a campaign to reshape his public image as "honest and frank." Meanwhile, Pei Xiaoyun expressed her concern about Lian Ruoshen to Cheng Feng, suggesting he was unsuitable for showbiz and that his earlier success was merely luck. Overhearing this, Lian Ruoshen was deeply hurt that even Xiaoyun doubted his abilities and angrily declared his intention to drop out of school.

Episode 17 Recap

Lian Ruoshen faced potential expulsion from Linxi University due to his trending online "dirt" and excessive absences. When confronted by Pei Xiaoyun, he expressed frustration that she doubted his abilities and thought his success was merely luck. Pei Xiaoyun suggested he was not suited for the entertainment industry and should return to his studies.

He firmly stated he was "not cut out for" studying and intended to drop out, adding defiantly, "The more you look down on me, the more I have to prove myself." Later, Lian Ruoshen was found heavily drinking at a bar by Li Zikun, lamenting about Pei Xiaoyun's dismissal of his talent. Li Zikun advised him that while it was fine not to respect individuals like Zhou Yao, he shouldn't direct his anger at diligent staff.

Dai Baoling arrived and urged Lian Ruoshen to sober up so they could approach Pei Xiaoyun, as he was on the verge of expulsion. In their meeting, Pei Xiaoyun explained to Dai Baoling the school's intention to expel Lian Ruoshen due to his frequent truancy and negative public image. Dai Baoling proposed appealing for a suspension instead, allowing him to return once the situation stabilized, emphasizing that his student status and studies were paramount.

However, Pei Xiaoyun suggested Lian Ruoshen should "step away from showbiz," return to college, and pursue a stable career. Lian Ruoshen angrily questioned her authority to make decisions for him, reaffirming his resolve to take a suspension to pursue his dreams and avoid a life of regret. Dai Baoling supported his right as an adult to make his own choices and assume responsibility, asking Pei Xiaoyun to respect his decision and facilitate the suspension process.

After an event, Dai Baoling accompanied Lian Ruoshen to Linxi University to finalize his suspension. Pei Xiaoyun reiterated her concerns, asking if he was certain about the implications of his decision. Lian Ruoshen confirmed his resolve. As he signed the application, he shared that his signature, specially designed by his father for his aspiring star career and practiced for years, represented his most enduring persistence. Pei Xiaoyun then took over to complete the remaining procedures.

Outside the school, Dai Baoling gave him a final chance to reconsider, but Lian Ruoshen cheerfully responded that he couldn't be happier, finally freed from the monotony of books. On the opening day of Cheng Feng's dance studio, Jiang Dian playfully tried to keep her from getting ready, expressing a desire to "hide her away" and keep her exclusively for himself. He volunteered to do her makeup, and they shared a tender, playful moment as they got ready together.

Their sweet interaction was interrupted by the arrival of Jiang Dian's mother, Chen Huiyun. Chen Huiyun immediately disapproved of Jiang Dian's appearance, calling his hair clip an "eyesore" and accusing him of becoming "sleazy" since he started dating Cheng Feng. Jiang Dian retorted that he was simply becoming the person he wanted to be.

Chen Huiyun shifted the conversation to the company's stocks, bringing up Jiang Dian's father's attempts to manipulate him and showing Jiang Dian a photo of his father's mistress. She claimed she had always protected Jiang Dian from "dirty deeds" and that everything she did, including his business education and her disapproval of Cheng Feng, was for his benefit, urging him to side with her. Jiang Dian, visibly agitated, accused both his parents of feigning concern while solely seeking personal gain.

He declared his disinterest in the stocks and pleaded with his mother to stop interfering with his life. Chen Huiyun, infuriated, asserted her sacrifices were for him, but Jiang Dian dismissed her claims as mere excuses for her unwillingness to accept being betrayed. As Chen Huiyun raised her hand to strike Jiang Dian, Cheng Feng intervened, urging them to calmly resolve their differences. Chen Huiyun then blamed Cheng Feng for Jiang Dian's rebellious behavior and ordered her to leave.

After Chen Huiyun departed, Cheng Feng comforted a distraught Jiang Dian, reaffirming her complete acceptance of him and encouraging him to share his past traumas. Jiang Dian revealed his lonely childhood, recounting how his wealthy parents neglected him.

He recalled a time when, suffering from a high fever, he called his mother, who, preoccupied with a meeting, coldly said she would call an ambulance for him and told him to stop bothering her, leading him to never seek her help again. He also shared a memory of being bullied as a child, finding solace in a park where he met an older girl.

This girl advised him to fight back if bullied, stating that crying was useless and continuous bullying would result otherwise. Cheng Feng then confessed that she was the very sister who had comforted him in the park years ago, emphasizing their "predestined" connection and assuring him that she truly cared for him. Jiang Dian reflected that all their serendipitous encounters might indeed be predestined.

Later, during a dance class, a student jokingly complained to Cheng Feng about Jiang Dian's intimidating glares, claiming he transformed from furious to gentle whenever Cheng Feng looked his way. Cheng Feng confronted Jiang Dian, who explained the student resembled someone who had bullied him as a child. Cheng Feng teased him about holding grudges, while Jiang Dian playfully demanded "compensation" for her past teasing.

Back home, while trying on dresses for the upcoming anniversary celebration, Cheng Feng reaffirmed her intention to attend to secure resources for her dance studio. Jiang Dian, still reluctant for her to go, settled on a dress he liked, and their conversation escalated into flirtatious banter. Meanwhile, at a media event, Lian Ruoshen and Zhou Yao publicly feigned camaraderie.

During a staged incident where a male fan passionately rushed Zhou Yao, Lian Ruoshen intervened, subtly informing Zhou Yao that the "fan" was orchestrated by their boss. Backstage, Zhou Yao expressed his annoyance to Pang Ting about the male fan, but Pang Ting dismissed his concerns, explaining it was DK's idea for impactful publicity. Separately, Chen Huiyun met with Zhou Yao.

She demonstrated her detailed knowledge of his career, from his past as a top idol to his current struggles with dwindling resources and efforts to rebrand himself. Zhou Yao attempted to portray himself as a sincere individual, claiming to wish Cheng Feng happiness despite their past.

Chen Huiyun, however, exposed his hypocrisy, revealing she knew he had plagiarized Cheng Feng's dance when Cheng Feng was grieving her mother and that he had used Pang Ting for career advancement while still dating Cheng Feng. She offered Zhou Yao substantial resources in exchange for him using any means to separate Cheng Feng from Jiang Dian. Zhou Yao readily accepted the deal.

Concurrently, Pang Ting subtly warned Dai Baoling against bringing Cheng Feng to the Royal Entertainment Anniversary, fearing it would displease the boss. Dai Baoling, defiant, declared she would bring Cheng Feng, promising they would "amaze them all." At the Royal Entertainment Anniversary, Dai Baoling introduced Cheng Feng to various industry figures. Pang Ting observed Mr. Wu, a music producer from Starry Entertainment, take a keen interest in Cheng Feng and, seizing the opportunity, discreetly made a deal with him.

An Yin, disguised as a waitress under Pang Ting's instruction, attempted to serve Cheng Feng a spiked drink. However, Mr. Wu intervened, engaging Cheng Feng in conversation and expressing interest in future collaborations. When Cheng Feng's phone rang, Mr. Wu politely encouraged her to answer, inadvertently disrupting An Yin's plan. As Cheng Feng excused herself to take the call, An Yin apologetically offered Mr. Wu another drink, presumably the one originally intended for Cheng Feng.

Episode 18 Recap

During Royal Entertainment's anniversary celebration, Cheng Feng was drugged by An Yin, leading to Mr. Wu attempting to sexually harass her. Mr. Wu confessed his admiration for Cheng Feng, expressing his desire to be with her. Feeling disoriented, Cheng Feng tried to leave, but Mr. Wu persisted. Zhou Yao intervened, presenting himself as a rescuer, telling Mr. Wu that Cheng Feng was his friend and unwell, then took her away.

As he drove her, Zhou Yao advised Cheng Feng to control her temper and listen to Baoling. Meanwhile, Jiang Dian received a call informing him that Cheng Feng had been taken by Zhou Yao. Jiang Dian immediately abandoned a critical experiment and rushed to Cheng Feng's location. Zhou Yao brought Cheng Feng back to the book cafe, where she had just received an IV drip. He insisted on carrying her, highlighting her weakness, but she declined, telling him to leave.

At that moment, Jiang Dian arrived and, seeing Zhou Yao still with Cheng Feng, grew enraged. He confronted Zhou Yao, warning him to stay away, and then physically assaulted him. Surveillance cameras captured the incident. When Cheng Feng woke up, she was concerned about Jiang Dian. Baoling informed her that Jiang Dian had been taken by the police because Zhou Yao reported him for assault.

Baoling added that, according to Pang Ting, Zhou Yao's injuries were severe enough for administrative detention, and the video evidence would make it difficult to clear Jiang Dian. Worried about Jiang Dian's well-being and emotional state, Cheng Feng insisted on going to the police station. There, Jiang Dian's mother angrily confronted Cheng Feng, attempting to slap her and blaming her for ruining Jiang Dian's life. Determined to save Jiang Dian, Cheng Feng met with Zhou Yao to negotiate.

She offered to choreograph for him if he dropped the charges, stating it was a one-time opportunity. Cheng Feng revealed she knew his injuries were not severe and that he was using this situation to force her to work with him and save his career. She bluntly told him he did not deserve her attention or care. Zhou Yao, despite his anger, concealed it. Jiang Dian’s mother, having secured his early release with a lawyer, met him outside the station.

She tried to poison his mind against Cheng Feng, claiming Cheng Feng was too busy choreographing for Zhou Yao to care about him, and urged him to come home. Jiang Dian, however, refused to return. Zhou Yao's performance with Cheng Feng's choreography impressed the company's owner, though Pang Ting subtly noted it was not as good as Lian Ruoshen's previous work. Jiang Dian arrived at Royal Entertainment, seething with anger, ready to confront Zhou Yao.

His friend, Lu Bie, tried to calm him, reminding him that Cheng Feng was doing this for his sake. Zhou Yao, noticing Jiang Dian, deliberately pulled Cheng Feng closer. Cheng Feng excused herself and firmly told Zhou Yao to release her. Jiang Dian again lunged at Zhou Yao, threatening to drag him to hell, but Cheng Feng quickly intervened, pulling Jiang Dian away. Jiang Dian blamed himself for Cheng Feng's forced interaction with Zhou Yao.

Cheng Feng reassured him that it was merely a temporary work arrangement, concluding with Zhou Yao's new song release, and asked him not to let it affect their relationship. Jiang Dian, however, inwardly vowed not to let Zhou Yao off the hook. Meanwhile, An Yin confronted Pang Ting, suspecting she was being cast aside. Pang Ting reassured her, claiming to have arranged her overseas travel and a significant sum of money.

An Yin, concerned about police investigations into the drugging incident, questioned Zhou Yao's timely rescue of Cheng Feng. Pang Ting denied any collusion and promised An Yin would not suffer in vain. Elsewhere, Jiang Dian received a call informing him that his physics project had been suspended. At the laboratory, his colleagues angrily chastised him for his four-day absence, which led to data errors, the project's suspension, Professor Chen's suspension, and a hefty compensation fine.

Jiang Dian apologized, taking responsibility, but recognized the damage was irreversible. Feeling distraught and guilty, Jiang Dian drank heavily and returned to the book cafe, seeking solace. Cheng Feng, finding him in this state, comforted him, promising to always be there. Separately, Lian Ruoshen confronted Zhou Yao about stealing his endorsement. Zhou Yao provoked Lian, calling him a "blockhead" with a bad reputation. Their argument escalated into a near physical fight, attracting the attention of the company owner.

Lian Ruoshen's defiant attitude towards the owner further damaged his career prospects. Later, Lian Ruoshen drowned his sorrows with Lu Bie, waking up believing he had been "slept with." Baoling, his agent, called him, found his location, and scolded him for jeopardizing his career further, as he was about to be "set aside" by the company. Lian Ruoshen apologized profusely, promising to control his temper, and Baoling, mollified, agreed to help him.

The police arrested and detained An Yin for drugging Cheng Feng. Cheng Feng visited An Yin in prison, but An Yin refused to reveal the true mastermind and remained unrepentant, vowing to always "watch" Cheng Feng. Back at the book cafe, Cheng Feng danced to relieve her stress. Jiang Dian, still struggling with his project issues, put on a brave face around Cheng Feng, though he secretly visited Professor Chen from a distance, burdened by guilt.

Pei Xiaoyun later informed Cheng Feng that Jiang Dian had not attended classes for days, making Cheng Feng realize the extent of his distress. She asked Pei Xiaoyun to request a leave of absence for Jiang Dian. Cheng Feng then secretly followed Jiang Dian, confirming his physics experiment was indeed in trouble. She brought him desserts, offering comfort and support.

The next day, Cheng Feng left a note for Jiang Dian, stating she had an urgent matter but would return soon. Jiang Dian, seeing the note, immediately suspected she had gone to meet Zhou Yao and became anxious. While choreographing for Zhou Yao, Cheng Feng received a picture of Jiang Dian with a 39-degree fever, which prompted her to rush back to him. However, Cheng Feng discovered Jiang Dian had faked his fever by taking a cold shower.

Recalling her psychology teacher's advice about his tendency for self-harm due to intense internal conflict, she empathized with him. She told him he could simply call her if he missed her or needed her, but implored him not to harm himself, and asked him to stop hiding things from her.

Soon after, Zhou Yao arrived at the book cafe, asking why Cheng Feng had not replied to his text about dance practice, and suspiciously suggested that "someone" might have deleted his message.

Episode 19 Recap

Zhou Yao appeared before Cheng Feng, claiming he had messaged her about practicing their dance and implying someone might have deleted his messages. He said he needed her guidance for an upcoming music video. After some initial work, Zhou Yao started reminiscing about their past relationship, making Cheng Feng uncomfortable. She sternly told him to "Shut up" if he wanted to continue working, but he pressed on, arguing that he wasn't the one who invaded her privacy or deleted messages.

When he started talking about releasing his emotions, Cheng Feng abruptly ended their collaboration, telling him to "Go away!" Zhou Yao then became agitated, questioning why Cheng Feng was so partial to Jiang Dian, claiming Jiang Dian was inferior to him, and asking why she treated him this way after all their years together. Jiang Dian, overhearing, tried to confront Zhou Yao, but Cheng Feng intervened and fell. Jiang Dian immediately rushed to her side, expressing concern.

Zhou Yao also showed false concern, but Cheng Feng again told him firmly to "Go away!" Observing this exchange, Zhou Yao concluded that Jiang Dian and Cheng Feng's relationship was in trouble, and he decided to leverage the potential scandal to promote his new album, reporting this development to Chen Huiyun. Jiang Dian was deeply disturbed by Zhou Yao's provocative words, replaying them in his mind and feeling intense jealousy.

Cheng Feng tried to talk to him, asking if he had anything to say, but Jiang Dian remained silent. Later, Cheng Feng received a call from Dai Baoling, who invited her out for a drink. During their conversation, Cheng Feng confided in Dai Baoling that Jiang Dian was "sick," suffering from sensitive and insecure tendencies ever since his release from the police station.

She expressed her heartbreak and fear of losing him, lamenting that he wasn't his usual brilliant self but still held onto hope that he would overcome his struggles and become "the best physicist in the future." Unbeknownst to them, Jiang Dian was standing behind the door, overhearing their entire conversation, which made him realize, "I am sick." Afterward, Cheng Feng walked home alone, taking photos of the scenery and sending them to Jiang Dian.

Jiang Dian secretly followed her, also photographing the same scenes. However, he accidentally dropped and broke his phone, losing sight of Cheng Feng. Panicked, he found a public phone and called Cheng Feng, confessing his love and asking for her location. Cheng Feng replied, "I'm behind you." Jiang Dian rushed to her, embracing and kissing her tightly. That night, unable to sleep, Jiang Dian folded paper airplanes.

Cheng Feng joined him, asking if he remembered the promise on his second paper plane about troubles disappearing. She questioned if he was happy with her, then apologized for his recent troubles, including the incident with Zhou Yao, the delay in his physics experiment, and Professor Chen's suspension. Jiang Dian insisted she wasn't to blame.

Cheng Feng then offered to help him get better, to "become a beam of light" and help him "find that passionate, glowing dream-chasing youth" who dedicated his life to physics. Jiang Dian, touched, asked if that person could return, to which Cheng Feng reassured him, "Yes, as long as you want." The next day, accompanied by Cheng Feng, Jiang Dian went to apologize to Professor Chen.

Professor Chen gently chided him, clarifying that the incident hadn't severely impacted him but emphasizing the importance of balancing his career and relationship to avoid future regrets. He also expressed his understanding and support for Jiang Dian's actions for Cheng Feng. Jiang Dian, recalling a past teacher who abandoned him, expressed his deep gratitude to Professor Chen for never giving up on him. He then promised to bring Professor Chen back to the university.

Jiang Dian proceeded to the Dean's office, taking full responsibility for the experiment's failure and stressing that Professor Chen was innocent. The Dean explained the institutional rules, stating that as the project leader, Professor Chen was conventionally responsible for the losses. Jiang Dian pleaded for one week to correct the error, promising to make up for it. The Dean agreed, stating he would work to reinstate Professor Chen if Jiang Dian succeeded, as the university valued such a capable professor.

Jiang Dian excitedly called Cheng Feng to share the good news, telling her that he would be staying at the school to work overtime and inviting her to visit. Cheng Feng expressed her happiness for him and reiterated her promise to visit, assuring him, "I have nothing to do with him [Zhou Yao]." They sealed this promise with a kiss before Jiang Dian returned to the lab.

Jiang Dian immersed himself in his research project, while Cheng Feng focused on her dance training class. She often brought desserts and a paper plane to the lab for Jiang Dian, leaving a note praising, "My Dian, the way you seriously chase your dreams is very charming." This encouragement energized Jiang Dian. However, after successfully completing his physics experiment, Jiang Dian saw Cheng Feng on television, being interviewed alongside Zhou Yao, who was introduced as a "special guest."

Zhou Yao presented Cheng Feng with her favorite platycodon flowers, symbolizing "eternal love," and both the interviewer and Zhou Yao implied that they were a couple who had reconciled. Jiang Dian tried to call Cheng Feng, but her phone was off, causing him deep unease. That evening, outside Cheng Feng's book cafe, Zhou Yao invited her to his new album's celebratory party. Cheng Feng rejected the invitation, but Jiang Dian then appeared, asserting his relationship with her.

Zhou Yao then presented her with a custom-made dress and provoked Jiang Dian, stating that "showing off is a sign of insecurity in a relationship" and insinuating that Jiang Dian was trying to claim something that didn't belong to him. In response, Jiang Dian accepted the dress, vowing to expose Zhou Yao's true nature and make him suffer the consequences. Zhou Yao countered, promising to retaliate for the punch Jiang Dian had previously given him.

Upon returning home, Jiang Dian confronted Cheng Feng, demanding to know why she was still involved with Zhou Yao and why she hadn't answered his calls. He furiously questioned how Zhou Yao knew her measurements. Cheng Feng, trying to calm him, explained that her phone had died and that she had been unaware of Zhou Yao's planned appearance on the show or his presence outside her home.

She earnestly assured him she had no involvement with Zhou Yao, begging him to believe her. Jiang Dian admitted he didn't know why he became so angry, confessing, "I couldn't control myself." He expressed his fear of hurting her and pleaded with her not to leave him. Cheng Feng quietly cried, unsure how to help him get better. Meanwhile, Pang Ting confronted Zhou Yao about ordering the women's evening dress.

Zhou Yao, in turn, brought up Pang Ting's past collaboration with An Yin against Cheng Feng, warning her to cease her "stupid behaviors" driven by emotion. He questioned her competence and advised her not to frequent his apartment to avoid unwanted media attention, emphasizing the limits of his patience. The next morning, Jiang Dian received a call from a lab colleague, fearing another project setback.

Instead, it was a surprise visit from Professor Chen, who had been reinstated and returned to the university. Professor Chen congratulated Jiang Dian and his team for their tireless work in completing the experiment. He noticed Jiang Dian's injured hand, and Jiang Dian confessed that he had hurt it himself and "hurt Cheng last night," but admitted, "I couldn't control myself." Professor Chen then told him, "You’re sick. Mentally sick," which led Jiang Dian to acknowledge his illness, saying, "I might be sick."

Episode 20 Recap

Jiang Dian attended a session with a psychologist, where he was informed about his paranoid personality disorder. The psychologist explained that his past experiences of unrequited love led to deep-seated self-denial, now manifesting as a fear of loss and a demand for absolute perfection in love. Jiang Dian admitted he struggled to control himself and couldn't accept the idea of another person ever having been in Cheng Feng's heart, even in the past.

He asked for medication to help manage his condition. The psychologist advised him to look into Cheng Feng's eyes when he felt overwhelmed, assuring him that this would help him find himself. After receiving a phone call, Jiang Dian requested that his visit and medical records be kept strictly confidential, and the psychologist agreed to protect his privacy.

Jiang Dian was prescribed medication to stabilize his condition, leaving the psychologist to wonder why he chose to bear his illness alone rather than share it with Cheng Feng. Later, at Zhou Yao's new song release party, Cheng Feng made a striking entrance with Jiang Dian by her side, who was dressed in a suit.

To the media, she publicly announced Jiang Dian as her boyfriend and requested that they refrain from photographing him, as he is not a public figure. When Zhou Yao addressed Cheng Feng by her nickname, Jiang Dian intervened, telling him it was inappropriate to use such familiarity in public. Cheng Feng affirmed Jiang Dian's statement.

Both Lian Ruoshen and Dai Baoling playfully remarked that Cheng Feng and Jiang Dian were there to steal the spotlight, with Lian Ruoshen joking that they looked like they were at their own engagement party. Cheng Feng confirmed that she simply wanted to make Jiang Dian feel secure. Cheng Feng soon noticed that Lian Ruoshen was being ignored by the media.

Dai Baoling explained that the company's boss, DK, was deliberately hindering Lian Ruoshen's new song promotion, a punitive measure for Lian Ruoshen having contradicted him previously. Fearing that Lian Ruoshen would be forgotten in the fast-paced entertainment industry, Dai Baoling decided she must either persuade DK to promote him or leave to manage him independently. She then approached DK, flattering him and asking him to reconsider supporting Lian Ruoshen, highlighting his talent.

DK acknowledged Lian Ruoshen's potential but deemed him not yet ready for top resources. Dai Baoling, however, insisted on a more modest promotional plan for Lian Ruoshen's upcoming single. DK then ambiguously handed her a hotel room card, implying that Lian Ruoshen's future depended on her "attitude" and willingness to comply, insulting her in the process. Humiliated, Dai Baoling secretly vowed not to forgive him. During the party, Zhou Yao invited Cheng Feng on stage.

Holding Jiang Dian's arm, Cheng Feng firmly declined, stating that her boyfriend's presence made it unsuitable and that she had no desire to use Zhou Yao for publicity. Angered, DK chastised Cheng Feng for being arrogant and disrespectful. Jiang Dian defended Cheng Feng, accusing Royal Entertainment of betraying them. DK retaliated by calling Jiang Dian a "gigolo," which infuriated Cheng Feng, who then splashed a glass of wine on DK.

When DK tried to stop them from leaving, Lian Ruoshen stepped forward, ready to fight. Seizing the moment, Dai Baoling secretly recorded DK's aggressive and insulting behavior. She then confronted him, exposing his past actions of diverting Lian Ruoshen's resources to Zhou Yao and sabotaging his promotion. Declaring that her time with the company was over, Dai Baoling dramatically announced her resignation, prompting Lian Ruoshen to immediately follow suit, and they all left the party.

After the confrontation, Cheng Feng, Jiang Dian, Dai Baoling, and Lian Ruoshen celebrated with a hotpot party at the book cafe. Lian Ruoshen lightened the mood by humorously stretching noodles and singing for Dai Baoling. Later, Cheng Feng and Dai Baoling had a heart-to-heart conversation. Dai Baoling expressed immense relief at leaving Royal Entertainment, feeling she could finally live without constant suppression.

She affirmed her resolve to help Lian Ruoshen succeed, despite the difficulties ahead, and Cheng Feng pledged her full support. Meanwhile, Lian Ruoshen confided in Jiang Dian about his anxiety regarding their uncertain future. Jiang Dian reassured him, emphasizing that true success comes from a genuine love for singing, not merely the desire for fame. That night, Jiang Dian texted Cheng Feng, inviting her to look at the stars downstairs.

Cheng Feng joined him and sweetly confessed her affection for the person she watched stars with, leading to a tender kiss. Dai Baoling, waking to get a drink, found Lian Ruoshen asleep in the living room. As she tried to cover him with a blanket, he accidentally pulled her into an embrace. To give Cheng Feng and Jiang Dian their privacy, Dai Baoling woke Lian Ruoshen and led him outside.

On their walk, Dai Baoling discussed the challenges of securing resources independently. Lian Ruoshen, however, declared his unwavering loyalty, valuing Dai Baoling as his mentor who believed in his dreams more than any resources. He promised to stand by her through any hardship. Touched, Dai Baoling accepted his thoughtful gesture when he offered his coat to keep her warm. Working independently proved to be a harsh reality for Dai Baoling and Lian Ruoshen.

They were met with constant rejections, and some wealthy women made inappropriate advances toward Lian Ruoshen. Dai Baoling tirelessly sought opportunities, humbling herself for his career. During one meeting, Mr. Chen, a potential collaborator, refused to work with them, claiming Dai Baoling was "nothing" without Royal Entertainment and insinuating her past success was due to an affair with DK. Enraged, Dai Baoling warned Mr. Chen of her Muay Thai skills.

She later expressed her fury to Cheng Feng about Royal Entertainment's blacklist, vowing never to compromise, even if it meant leaving the entertainment industry entirely. She lamented the profound humiliation she faced despite her years of experience as an excellent celebrity manager. Amidst these struggles, Cheng Feng secured a game endorsement opportunity for Lian Ruoshen through Glory Media, where she was working as a choreographer.

They were invited to a brand event the next day, with the promise of a live announcement. Dai Baoling was both thrilled and suspicious, finding it odd that such a major company would approve an endorser so swiftly without consulting her. Cheng Feng acknowledged the unusual circumstances but advised them to consider it, as it was a rare chance. Grateful, Dai Baoling decided to proceed and eagerly called Lian Ruoshen with the good news.

Meanwhile, as Zhou Yao prepared for his concert, his manager noted his continued preference for Cheng Feng as his choreographer. DK, the boss, advised Zhou Yao to secure Cheng Feng permanently, acknowledging her significant contributions to his success. Aware that Cheng Feng was actively helping Dai Baoling and Lian Ruoshen, and planning to blacklist them, DK suggested Zhou Yao leverage this situation.

He instructed Zhou Yao to pressure Cheng Feng by offering to lift the blacklist on her friends, believing her compassionate nature would make her agree. That night, Zhou Yao unexpectedly appeared at the book cafe, helping himself to food. When Cheng Feng threatened to call the police, he offered her an exclusive choreographer contract, promising to convince DK to "forgive" Dai Baoling and Lian Ruoshen.

Cheng Feng vehemently rejected the offer, accusing him of shamelessly plagiarizing her dance and reminding him of its personal significance to her. She expressed disgust for their past relationship, stating that he only loved himself. Zhou Yao, confidently asserting that she would eventually come back to him, then left. Upon returning to the book cafe, Jiang Dian noticed that dinner had been cleaned up. He asked Cheng Feng if anyone had visited, but she denied it.

However, Jiang Dian discovered the choreographer contract Zhou Yao had left behind. Overwhelmed by emotion, he retreated upstairs, where Cheng Feng found him tearing up paper and attempting to take medication to control himself. Distraught, Jiang Dian confessed his illness, asking if she would leave him or hate him. Cheng Feng embraced him, reassuring him that she would never hate or abandon him, and promised to support him through his treatment.

She explicitly stated that she would not sign Zhou Yao's contract. The next morning, Cheng Feng tenderly offered to take him to the hospital after she had sorted out her work at school, allowing him to rest more. Dai Baoling and Lian Ruoshen arrived at the Glory Media brand event, only to be told their names were not on the guest list.

Lian Ruoshen tried to call Cheng Feng, but Dai Baoling, sensing a trap, stopped him, and they decided to leave. As they attempted to depart, Pang Ting and Zhou Yao appeared, gloating and confirming that there was no real endorsement opportunity, merely a setup to humiliate them. Dai Baoling confronted DK, who was also present, accusing him of betraying them. In response, DK splashed water on her.

Just then, Cheng Feng arrived and retaliated by splashing water back at DK, defending her friends. Despite being forcibly removed from the event, Dai Baoling did not blame Cheng Feng. Instead, she took responsibility for not having thoroughly vetted the opportunity, apologizing to Lian Ruoshen and promising him that such humiliation would never happen again. Lian Ruoshen reassured her that he was fine and trusted her completely.

He left in a car, asking Cheng Feng to take care of Dai Baoling. Cheng Feng took a despondent Dai Baoling back to her place. Dai Baoling confessed her deep insecurities, feeling that despite her years of experience as an excellent celebrity manager, her abilities were nothing compared to the power of resources, especially after Royal Entertainment's blacklist. She worried she might have ruined Lian Ruoshen's dreams and was tormented by sleepless nights.

When Cheng Feng asked about her own dreams, Dai Baoling poignantly stated that her only dream was to help Lian Ruoshen achieve his. Later, while Jiang Dian waited for Cheng Feng at the hospital for his appointment, wondering why she hadn't arrived, Cheng Feng was seen signing the choreographer employment contract from Royal Entertainment, making a significant sacrifice for Dai Baoling and Lian Ruoshen's future.

Episode 21 Recap

Cheng Feng ultimately signed the choreography contract, a sacrifice made for Dai Baoling and Lian Ruoshen. When Jiang Dian discovered the signed contract, his emotions erupted. He confronted Cheng Feng, demanding to know why she had broken her promise, accusing her of ignoring his words while he waited for her at the hospital. Refusing to listen to her explanations, his grip tightened on her arm, and his escalating distress led him to forcefully kiss her.

Later, realizing his actions stemmed from his paranoid personality disorder, Jiang Dian remorsefully apologized. Cheng Feng, exhausted, simply said she was tired and needed space. Meanwhile, Lian Ruoshen shared drinks with Jiang Dian, expressing his deep disillusionment with the entertainment industry's vicious nature. He felt immense guilt for burdening Dai Baoling, recalling her past as a respected celebrity manager who now endured disdain and neglect because of him.

He wondered if Pei Xiaoyun would pity his current plight, but ultimately resolved to stand by Dai Baoling, no matter the difficulties. Jiang Dian confided his own diagnosis of paranoid personality disorder, explaining his childhood trauma and overwhelming fear of abandonment. Lian Ruoshen, trying to reassure him, suggested that Cheng Feng's love for Jiang Dian would only deepen, not diminish, if she knew about his illness.

This led Jiang Dian to a disturbing thought: his illness could be a way to ensure Cheng Feng would not leave him. Jiang Dian later called Dai Baoling to pick up a heavily intoxicated Lian Ruoshen from the school rooftop. Despite his drunken state, Lian Ruoshen apologized for being a burden and reaffirmed his unwavering dream of singing. Dai Baoling, deeply touched, promised to support him fully, telling him to focus on his music while she handled everything else.

She left Lian Ruoshen in Lu Bie's care and went to confront DK, demanding he leave her and Lian Ruoshen alone. DK, dismissing his staff, propositioned Dai Baoling by offering a hotel room key card. Unbeknownst to them, Zhou Yao recorded this exchange, then distorted the footage to suggest Dai Baoling was willingly selling herself to DK, sending the misleading video to Lian Ruoshen.

Waking up disoriented in a hotel room with Lu Bie, Lian Ruoshen was consumed by rage upon receiving Zhou Yao's fabricated video. He and Lu Bie rushed to 24K to confront DK, with Lu Bie frantically calling Jiang Dian for help when he couldn't reach Cheng Feng or Dai Baoling. At 24K, they found Dai Baoling absent. Lian Ruoshen angrily demanded her appearance, threatening to kick down the door.

DK's bodyguards then attacked Lian Ruoshen and Lu Bie, with Jiang Dian soon arriving to join the brawl. DK, calmly recording the entire fight on his phone, later used the video to claim self-defense. Dai Baoling, having received the video from DK, immediately called him, warning that she would contact the police if the assault didn't cease. She and Cheng Feng swiftly arrived, putting an end to the fight.

After DK and his bodyguards left, Dai Baoling, overwhelmed and suffering from a gastric issue, collapsed into Lian Ruoshen's arms. Dai Baoling was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with gastric perforation, necessitating immediate surgery. Outside her room, Cheng Feng clarified to Lian Ruoshen that Dai Baoling had unequivocally rejected DK's advances. Realizing he had been manipulated, Lian Ruoshen suspected Zhou Yao's involvement and wanted to confront him, but Jiang Dian advised against it without solid evidence.

Lian Ruoshen remained by Dai Baoling's side, filled with self-reproach for her suffering. Meanwhile, Cheng Feng returned home to tend to Jiang Dian's injuries, urging him to protect himself, and he found comfort in her embrace. The next morning, Dai Baoling awoke, moved to see Lian Ruoshen by her side. He offered to get her breakfast. Soon after, DK visited, cruelly questioning if sacrificing her career for Lian Ruoshen, a "stupid boy," was truly worth it.

He highlighted her deep affection, detailing her sacrifices—selling her car and house, enduring humiliation—all for Lian Ruoshen. He then threatened her with the video of Lian Ruoshen assaulting him, implying he could sue him or release it online. Dai Baoling, seeing through the facade, realized that Zhou Yao had orchestrated the entire setup, including informing Lian Ruoshen of her meeting with DK.

Lian Ruoshen, overhearing this painful revelation of Dai Baoling's profound feelings for him, became overwhelmed and fled the hospital. Distraught by Lian Ruoshen's disappearance, Dai Baoling sought out Pei Xiaoyun. Pei Xiaoyun, having had time to reflect, showed no resentment. She explained her realization that she and Lian Ruoshen were fundamentally different, with contrasting values and aspirations, absolving everyone of blame.

Pei Xiaoyun acknowledged Dai Baoling's immense sacrifices for Lian Ruoshen, reassuring her that he would eventually understand, and urged her not to feel guilty. Pei Xiaoyun, who was preparing to return to her hometown to care for her ailing mother, gave Dai Baoling 200,000 yuan, asking her to pass it to Lian Ruoshen. She firmly stated her decision not to see Lian Ruoshen again, believing it was best to preserve their memories as they were.

Simultaneously, Lian Ruoshen, alone in a multimedia classroom, reminisced about his early days of singing for Pei Xiaoyun and then pondered Dai Baoling's unwavering support and immense sacrifices. Overwhelmed by these thoughts, he decided to abandon his singing dream entirely. Unwilling to let Jiang Dian and their friends suffer injustice, Cheng Feng went to Royal Entertainment to confront Zhou Yao. She strategically provoked him into a deal by demanding he fire Pang Ting.

Zhou Yao, eager to secure Cheng Feng as his dance partner for "Dancing Stars," readily agreed. Later, when Pang Ting confronted Cheng Feng, Cheng Feng astutely pointed out Zhou Yao's inherent selfishness, stating he only truly loved himself and was unworthy of Pang Ting's devotion. Cheng Feng proposed they unite against Zhou Yao, but Pang Ting, wary of the significant career risks, declined the alliance.

Lian Ruoshen eventually returned to the hospital to visit Dai Baoling, expressing his belief that he was unworthy of her affection. Undeterred, Dai Baoling poured out her heart, confessing her deep love for him. She recalled how his captivating voice first drew her in during the school anniversary, despite her initial disdain for his perceived clumsiness. His dedication to his dream and his pure, straightforward nature, she revealed, had gradually won her over.

She reiterated her "You stay, I stay" promise, revealing her willingness to sacrifice her own dreams for his. She clarified that her confession was not meant to burden him with guilt, and she would not accept his affection if it were born purely out of obligation. She then handed him the 200,000 yuan from Pei Xiaoyun, informing him of Pei Xiaoyun's impending flight and urging him to go to the airport if he wished to reconcile. Lian Ruoshen, prompted by this news, immediately left, leaving a heartbroken Dai Baoling behind.

Episode 22 Recap

Cheng Feng visited Baoling in the hospital, where Baoling broke down, lamenting how badly she had lost. She confessed that despite preparing herself to face anything, seeing Lian Ruoshen abandon her for Yun without hesitation caused her indescribable pain. Her heart ached terribly, feeling that all her efforts had ultimately become a joke. Cheng Feng asked Baoling if she regretted loving so intensely and with such difficulty.

Baoling turned the question back to Cheng Feng, who affirmed that such love, no matter how hard, was worth it. Cheng Feng then mentioned she had gone to see Zhou Yao that day. This news fueled Jiang Dian's existing suspicions, leading to new misunderstandings. However, when he greeted Cheng Feng at home, he kept his feelings to himself, offering to run a bath for her with unusual sweetness.

Meanwhile, at the Dancing Stars Conference, Zhou Yao was in his lounge when Pang Ting appeared to confront him. A flashback revealed that Pang Ting had earlier overheard and recorded a conversation where Zhou Yao deflected blame onto her while speaking to their boss, DK, and asked to have her fired. This betrayal prompted her to seek revenge.

In the lounge, Zhou Yao, enraged that she had recorded him, called Pang Ting a devious woman and demanded her phone, but she revealed she had numerous backups. Pang Ting then unleashed a torrent of accusations, detailing how Zhou Yao had feigned an affectionate persona to secure the HA endorsement, leading his fans to attack Cheng Feng online, only for him to pretend to be a good person afterward.

Knowing he was nothing without Cheng Feng's choreography, he had used every possible method to trap her, implicating her in the house sale and Lian Ruoshen's situation. Pang Ting then revealed that their entire conversation had been broadcast outside through a transmitter, making the whole world aware of Zhou Yao’s deceit. Amidst the chaos, DK, humiliated by the revelations, tried to leave the venue.

However, a woman publicly accused him of exploiting her and many others through his power in the industry, labeling him a monster. DK attempted to assault the woman, but Baoling and Cheng Feng intervened. The police soon arrived and arrested DK. As he was being led away, DK realized that Baoling and Cheng Feng had orchestrated his downfall. With his reputation in ruins, Zhou Yao was mobbed by the media.

Seeing her plan accomplished, Pang Ting contacted the police and confessed to being the mastermind behind the plot to poison Cheng Feng. Baoling found satisfaction in DK and Zhou Yao’s predicament. Zhou Yao, however, confronted Cheng Feng, accusing her of ruining his life. Jiang Dian swiftly stepped in to protect Cheng Feng and was beaten by a furious Zhou Yao. Security guards restrained Zhou Yao, and after Baoling and Cheng Feng reported the assault, the police subsequently arrested him.

Earlier, Lian Ruoshen had rushed to the airport to stop Yun, but he arrived too late. He then traveled to Yun’s hometown to visit her. Yun commented that she preferred his former, more energetic self. Lian Ruoshen confessed that Yun had once been his faith, but now she could only exist in his heart. He admitted he had liked her but realized it too late, thus missing his chance.

Acknowledging that they couldn't go back, Lian Ruoshen returned a bank card to Yun, formally bidding her farewell. Jiang Dian’s mother, Chen Huiyun, called him home, threatening to kill herself if he didn’t return. Upon his arrival, he found his mother and father, Jiang Yi, embroiled in a heated argument. Jiang Dian questioned why they didn’t divorce. Chen Huiyun staunchly refused, unwilling to let Jiang Yi use her hard-earned money to support his mistress.

Jiang Yi, leveraging his control over the Jiang Corporation, threatened Chen Huiyun and raised his hand to strike her. Jiang Dian intervened, protecting his mother and warning his father that if he dared to hit her, neither he nor his mistress would have an easy life. Jiang Yi, furious, stormed out. Chen Huiyun then turned her bitter words on Jiang Dian, accusing him of not caring about his inheritance, despite her fighting for it, and being obsessed with Cheng Feng.

Jiang Dian urged her not to project her failed marriage onto others. Chen Huiyun expressed regret for marrying Jiang Yi and letting him control her assets, wishing she had never given birth to Jiang Dian. Jiang Dian, equally hurt, retorted that he wished he wasn't her child either. Following the acrimonious argument with his mother, Jiang Dian sought comfort at Cheng Feng's book café but hesitated to enter. Cheng Feng spotted him and brought him inside.

Jiang Dian clung to Cheng Feng, then, overwhelmed by his emotions, uncontrollably kissed her. He erupted in a desperate rant, accusing her of not needing him and questioning her recent actions concerning Zhou Yao. Cheng Feng was hurt by his emotional outburst. Jiang Dian, realizing his mistake, explained that he had stopped taking his medication, which was why he couldn’t control his emotions, believing his illness was the only thing keeping her from leaving.

Cheng Feng grew angrier, chastising him for discontinuing his treatment. She told him she could support him through his recovery, but she was a person, not his medication, and she got hurt too. Feeling utterly exhausted, she confessed she no longer had the strength to love him. Jiang Dian pleaded with her not to give up on him, despairing that everyone else had. Later, Jiang Dian, Lian Ruoshen, and Lu Bie met for drinks.

Lian Ruoshen spoke of escaping reality by traveling to Africa, which made Jiang Dian feel even more abandoned. The three friends toasted to their "terrible youth," and Lian Ruoshen, smiling, began to cry. The next morning, Chen Huiyun arrived at Cheng Feng's book café with bodyguards and began trashing the place. A staff member, distressed, called Jiang Dian for help. Cheng Feng bravely confronted Chen Huiyun, while her staff, concerned for her safety, stayed to support her.

Episode 23 Recap

Chen Huiyun, Jiang Dian's mother, ordered people to vandalize Cheng Feng's bookstore. Cheng Feng was asked if she would leave Jiang Dian, but she refused. When Jiang Dian arrived at the scene, he found the bookstore in disarray. He asked Cheng Feng if she was alright and if she had called the police. Cheng Feng responded by asking how she could report Jiang Dian's own mother to the police. Jiang Dian promised to give her an explanation.

Jiang Dian then went home to confront his mother. He found Chen Huiyun speaking to her secretary, lamenting her struggles, saying that she had worked tirelessly but felt she had gained nothing. Jiang Dian angrily questioned why she kept interfering in his life and targeting Cheng Feng. Chen Huiyun asserted that he had forced her hand, claiming he ignored her pleas when she tried to reason with him.

Jiang Dian accused her of denying everything he liked since childhood and pleaded with her to let him live a simple life with Cheng Feng. Chen Huiyun, however, expressed her fear of losing the Jiang Group, which she built herself, to her former husband and the possibility of "that woman's son" becoming the heir. She insisted that Jiang Dian study business to reclaim the company, seeing him as a tool for her revenge.

Jiang Dian knelt, thanking her for raising him, but declared that he was no longer her son, and left. Chen Huiyun was heartbroken. Later, while Jiang Dian was with Cheng Feng, his mother's secretary called, asking why he had been unreachable and informing him that President Chen had been in a car accident, urging him to go to the hospital. Cheng Feng insisted on accompanying him.

At the hospital, the secretary explained Chen Huiyun's difficult past to Jiang Dian and Cheng Feng. She detailed how Chen Huiyun, a proud and determined woman, fell in love with an ordinary man and turned against her family to build a company with him from scratch. After the company stabilized, she became pregnant and, as a strong career woman, sacrificed her business for her child, Jiang Dian.

However, after his birth, she found her place in the company gone and her husband growing distant, leading to postpartum depression and long-term anxiety. The secretary clarified that Chen Huiyun often stayed away from home not because she didn't love Jiang Dian, but because she feared her negative emotions would harm him. She recounted how Chen Huiyun once abandoned a crucial business contract to rush home and care for a feverish Jiang Dian overnight, sitting by his side until morning.

She also mentioned Chen Huiyun's birthday, which Jiang Dian failed to celebrate with her, leaving the secretary to find her alone. The secretary concluded that Chen Huiyun struggled to express her love but truly cared for Jiang Dian, who was deeply moved and guilt-ridden, blaming himself for their argument and his mother's accident.

He confessed to Cheng Feng that he never truly intended to disown his mother, lamenting his difficult situation and explaining that all he ever wanted was for his mother to accept his love for Cheng Feng. Later, Baoling visited Cheng Feng at the bookstore, preparing to travel abroad. She noticed Cheng Feng seemed troubled. Cheng Feng confided that she felt she might lose Jiang Dian.

She reflected on Baoling's past comments about her being too independent and self-reliant, always shouldering burdens alone. She realized this habit, where she kept things from Jiang Dian and solved problems independently under the guise of protecting him, had inadvertently undermined his sense of purpose and security, making him reliant but insecure. Baoling comforted her, acknowledging that both had valid perspectives; Jiang Dian wanted to be relied upon, and Cheng Feng wanted to shield him from the world's harsh realities.

However, they hadn't found a compatible way of interacting. Baoling urged Cheng Feng to prioritize her happiness, hoping that at least one of them could find joy. Cheng Feng admitted she also yearned for happiness but couldn't bear the thought of Jiang Dian enduring the same regrets she had experienced. At the hospital, Jiang Dian spoke to his unconscious mother, apologizing for their arguments and promising to stop fighting and contradicting her, hoping she would wake up.

When Cheng Feng visited with soup for Chen Huiyun, his mother was awake but angrily rejected her, spilling the soup and telling Cheng Feng to leave Dian alone, claiming she was unsuitable for him. Jiang Dian tried to calm his mother, explaining Cheng Feng's kindness, but Chen Huiyun insisted Cheng Feng was wrong for him and pressured Jiang Dian to go abroad with her to study business.

When Jiang Dian tried to postpone the discussion, Chen Huiyun issued a final ultimatum, threatening to die if he chose Cheng Feng over her. Faced with this impossible choice, Cheng Feng intervened, telling Chen Huiyun that she would choose for Jiang Dian to go abroad with his mother, stating that such a decision was too cruel for him to make. Chen Huiyun thanked her, then asked Cheng Feng to leave so she could rest.

Cheng Feng left, advising Jiang Dian to take good care of his mother. Jiang Dian reluctantly agreed to stay with his mother. Jiang Dian later found Cheng Feng at a lake, a place they had visited before. Cheng Feng asked if they still had the will to love each other amidst their struggles. Jiang Dian pleaded for them to elope and go somewhere far away, just the two of them, believing they would be happy.

Cheng Feng questioned if simply leaving would truly bring them happiness. Overwhelmed by despair and feeling Cheng Feng's departure meant losing his "sunshine" and reason to live, Jiang Dian climbed to the edge of the lake, threatening to jump. Cheng Feng immediately declared she would jump with him. Seeing her willingness to suffer with him, Jiang Dian stepped back, unable to bear the thought of her enduring the cold with him.

He apologized for his actions and for hurting her, realizing he had become the person he despised. Cheng Feng also apologized, acknowledging her fault in giving love but failing to provide him with the security he needed. They both expressed sadness over how their relationship had reached such a painful point. Cheng Feng then proposed a temporary separation, suggesting they each take space to grow individually and reunite when they were both better versions of themselves.

Jiang Dian accepted her proposal. Soon after, Chen Huiyun's secretary informed him that Chen Huiyun had already booked his flight for dusk and wanted him to handle his university withdrawal personally. Cheng Feng offered to pack his belongings at her shop, but the secretary declined, saying everything could be bought overseas. Jiang Dian then went to the physics laboratory to bid farewell to his professor.

His professor comforted him, saying that as long as he kept physics in his heart, his location didn't matter. He urged Jiang Dian to take care of himself abroad and to call him if he ever missed him, encouraging him to grow up. After Jiang Dian left, Cheng Feng was seen back at her bookstore, dancing to console her broken heart, unable to hold back her tears.

Episode 24 (Ending) Recap

Jiang Dian pursued Cheng Feng to the lakeside, where Cheng Feng initiated a temporary separation. Though heartbroken, Jiang Dian reluctantly agreed. He then returned to the book cafe for a poignant farewell, reminiscing about their tender moments. He recalled a time when he promised, "I’ll treat you well in the future," to which Cheng Feng replied, "OK." Now, Cheng Feng reflected that their relationship was like a broken string, beyond repair.

Jiang Dian, in deep pain, confessed that the thought of parting broke his heart. He offered to change, to be less childish and clingy, and begged for more time, questioning who he would confide in if they separated. Cheng Feng reminded him of their agreement to part gracefully, asserting there was no other choice. Before leaving, Jiang Dian urged her to take care of herself, not to drink on an empty stomach, stay up late, or get sick.

Cheng Feng told him he should go, and Jiang Dian promised to return. Later, in voiceovers, Jiang Dian mused that he had met Cheng Feng at a young age, fell in love unprepared, and though he had raced against time, he still couldn't hold onto her. He asked her to call his name if he ever wandered too far, fearing he might lose his way home.

Cheng Feng, in turn, acknowledged that life was a journey without a destination, but she cherished the scenery they shared. She bid him goodbye. Three years later, Jiang Dian followed Chen Huiyun abroad. Both achieved great success in their respective fields. At the book cafe, a new male employee, who had dyed his hair like his idol Ruoshen, playfully teased the other staff while praising Cheng Feng for her beauty and her recent international award in dance.

Cheng Feng was on her way to teach a dance class at Linxi University when she unexpectedly sprained her ankle. It was then that Jiang Dian, now a renowned physicist, appeared and swept her into his arms. However, he was quickly called away for a lecture, leaving Cheng Feng fuming in the dance studio. She confronted him about breaking their appointment two days prior.

Jiang Dian explained that an emergency at his research lab coincided with his phone running out of battery, preventing him from replying. Cheng Feng, still annoyed, accused him of flirting with other women. Jiang Dian playfully asked if she was jealous, and she admitted it was obvious. Just as they were about to kiss, a school staff member interrupted, reminding Jiang Dian that his second lecture was about to begin. He promised to make it up to her later.

Cheng Feng accompanied Pei Xiaoyun to pick out wedding rings. She mused on how three years had truly changed Jiang Dian, making him "not cute anymore." Pei Xiaoyun reassured her that as long as his love remained, it was fine, and teased Cheng Feng for becoming more jealous and less like her former cool and aloof self.

That evening, Jiang Dian sought out Cheng Feng at the book cafe, where she, hoping to make him jealous, agreed to a date with the male employee. Jiang Dian, recognizing the employee's haircut as his idol Ruoshen's style, cleverly leveraged this, offering to arrange a meeting with the idol. Faced with a choice between a date with Cheng Feng and meeting his idol, the employee decisively chose the latter, leaving Cheng Feng alone with Jiang Dian.

The next day, Cheng Feng was designated as Pei Xiaoyun's bridesmaid. She received a call from Pei Xiaoyun, asking her to pick up the groom Liu Shang's best man. To Cheng Feng's dismay, Jiang Dian was the best man. She reluctantly allowed him into her car. Jiang Dian, deliberately unbuckled, provoked Cheng Feng to fasten his seatbelt for him. As she leaned in, he pulled her into a kiss, aiming to placate her.

Later, feigning that he had forgotten the groom's ring, Jiang Dian took Cheng Feng to a jewelry store. Inside "I Do," a salesperson mistook them for a couple and praised Jiang Dian's choice of ring. Cheng Feng quickly clarified the ring was for her best friend. When the salesperson suggested Cheng Feng try on new engagement rings, Cheng Feng retorted that Jiang Dian hadn't even proposed.

Jiang Dian teasingly asked if she was waiting for him to propose, then stepped aside to collect a pre-ordered engagement ring. Upon their arrival at the venue, their friend Baoling led Cheng Feng and Jiang Dian, blindfolded, into what Cheng Feng believed was Pei Xiaoyun's wedding.

Cheng Feng was surprised to see Pei Xiaoyun not in a wedding gown, and Pei Xiaoyun then revealed the elaborate trick: her wedding was actually scheduled for the next day, and this was all a grand proposal ceremony orchestrated by Jiang Dian, with the help of all their friends. Jiang Dian emerged from a cascade of balloons, holding a bouquet of flowers. He began his heartfelt proposal, stating that it had been 1,642 days since they first got together.

He explained that for the past three years, he had been secretly protecting her from afar, only appearing now that he had become a better version of himself. He confessed to returning every New Year's Eve just to catch a glimpse of her. Jiang Dian also revealed his awareness that Cheng Feng had visited him when he suffered from anorexia and was in a coma, thanking her for not giving up on him or herself.

Chen Huiyun, Jiang Dian's mother, also made an appearance. A flashback showed her apologizing to a gravely ill Jiang Dian, pleading with him to eat and expressing her regret for pushing him. She admitted she didn't want him to suffer the same heartbreak she did in her youth. Their relationship had healed, with them promising to talk things through instead of arguing.

At the proposal, Chen Huiyun sincerely apologized to Cheng Feng for her past stubbornness and the hurt she caused, wishing them happiness. Cheng Feng graciously accepted her apology, recognizing their past differences as merely different standpoints. Jiang Dian knelt, professing his good fortune in meeting Cheng Feng, in being loved by her, and growing together. He asked if she would spend the rest of her life with him.

Cheng Feng, tearfully expressing her profound gratitude for meeting him, for his love that showed her purity beyond betrayal, and for becoming a better man for her, accepted his proposal. She declared her love for him, and they shared a passionate kiss amidst the cheers of their friends. Ruoshen and another friend playfully bickered about their single status, while Baoling expressed her joy that, despite the passage of time, their bond remained unchanged.

The narrator concluded that while one might once think meeting someone is the most beautiful thing in life, later they realize that reunion is the most precious. May time be gentle, old friends remain, and may they find each other well when they meet again.
